I joined Weight Watchers under the Tenn Care partner's Program. It's funny how I was able to speak with a live person to join, but now they say my only option is to leave a message for them to call me back to cancel, yet they never do! They tell me I cannot speak to anyone about canceling, that this department that only takes messages, is my only choice! I also had a complaint about how I was treated on the phone, as well as at my first meeting, but as you may guess, there is no one willing to take my call about that either!

Beware!

Hello Forum, I see that there are years of complaints on this site related to WW debiting beyond what people " signed up for"
I joined a 3 month program in January 2016 and today ( 9/2/18) have had a small refund. My bank has advised they will dispute
any debits on my behalf if they take place again next month. I am considering legal action as I feel the enrolment process, financial disclosure and communication to say debits were still continuing do not meet consumer law in Australia. I bet the same applied in other countries.
If anyone has details of how they managed to get a refund from payments after a 3 months trial ceased please post them on the forum.
Many readers need support to deal with the nightmare of these deductions. Heather - Australia. MY IMMEDIATE ADVICE TO ANYONE HAVING THE PROBLEM IS ; cancel your credit card or debit card...its the quickest way to resolve the deductions continuing without your informed authority.

I joined WW 1 month ago and decided it wasn't for me. They have already charged my credit card twice for $40+ dollars. Now they are charging me $69.96 for an early termination? For what? I got NOTHING from them. This is a BIG rip off.

Mary, cancel the card and or call the bank to lodge a dispute. Cancelling the card is the quickest way to stop the deductions. Lodging a dispute can take months- going back and forth and all the time the debits will continue.

If you click on cancel from the website in account settings it tells you youre not logged in, even though you ARE logged in. I tried this about a dozen times with the same result. Nice JavaScript coding they did there. I can do that too! Clearly targeted at people who don't understand technology and how you can use it to scam people. They REALLY want me to call them to cancel. Obviously. Its okay, its okay. I'm going to reply to anything they say with "I would like to cancel my subscription" I have no problem being rude. Only problem is precious time is being wasted during which I could be adding food and activity to fitnesspal, which I used in the past and actually works great.

I signed up for the free weight Watchers and the free starter pack. I never received it so I am trying to cancel my membership. The page (URL) that you are supposed to use to cancel gets an error message and does not work.
Imagine that!
I'll keep trying to cancel.

I was really impressed with Jenifer Hudson loosing weight and so decided to try it myself.
They said it was gonna be personalized, I paid $57.00 plus taxes, But turns out, you don't get any sort of personalized attention! The features are same as Calorie Counter! (Calorie Counter does it for free) Honest!
So I decided to withdraw, and close my account.. But guess what? The don't have proper instructions to do it. They don't have a Customer Care Number either! All they have is this stupid email address, which sends out automated mails saying we have received your email and will reply within 72 hours, its been 10 days now, still no reply..
My account is closed, my money gone, and I am still fat! Damn you Weight Watchers!
BEWARE!

I signed up for the 3 month Weight Watchers online plan and enjoyed using Weight Watcher's services. However, I'm on a fixed budget and decided that I would not renew after 3 months. I did not remember that my membership would be automatically renewed until I asked them to cancel it. So, now I've paid for 2 months I never used because it was charged to my credit card. Weight Watchers will not refund this unwanted and unused service because I didn't cancel per the agreement. Anybody else have this problem? I understand that I agreed to the contract but sure wish WW would notify us shortly before renewal time to remind us. I feel taken advantage of and not valued as a customer.

Weight watchers offered free membership if I signed up for a 3 month membership commitment. But beware of the fine print where they will continue to charge you regardless of use and without notification until you call them to cancel. The program is a rip off and did not work. It is time consuming to find and record all foods and activities. When I asked for a refund for the months I was being charged while not using the program they refused and pointed out the fine print. Beward, they take your money and do nothing for it!

I have been trying to cancel my membership for months, with no results what a rip off. They need to tell the truth about their cancellation policy. Which is impossible . They keep drafting the money out of my account though! I think something should be done about weight watchers. I do not know what to do about this, I need HELP!

I joined WW two years ago online. I was under the impression it was a month subscription, a trial. Anyway my life became hectic with family issues I didn't use The WW and basically (my fault) didn't really look into my finances. When I finally woke up I realised I had been charged every month for two years! I got in contact with them (not easy) they said I had checked a box which allowed them to keep debiting me, for my convenience They refunded two months as that is how long they took to actually do the cancelation but refuse to pay the rest. They only have to look at their records to see I have not used my account in this time. Surely they can run a report to see if usage and payments marry up and alert people to in discrepancies.
I do not know where to turn for help?

I sent a cancellation notice beginning of dec 2013. Well here it is March and they have taken money from my checking every month since I have all the monthlypasses. I am returning them to them and they say they will only refund march. They are not honest when they say no hassle cancellation. If I don't get money ASAP for dec jan feb and march I will contact better business bureau and they will here from my attorney. I will go stand outside a meeting and tell everyone not to join. Now if I get all money back I will write retraction

I signed up for Weight Watchers Online for $59.95 for 3 months and it was AWFUL. I had downloaded "Myfitnesspal" app for either nothing or $1.99 FOREVER and found that much more user friendly, more accurate and less cumbersome to operate.. After 3 days, I tried to get my money back, forget it, they have you in an iron clad contract and no credit.
Bottom line line try Myfitnesspal first and you'll save a couple of hundred bucks a year.

I think this whole weight watchers is getting to be very off the wall. You charge a $13.00 dollar missed meeting fee as it was $5.00.A lot of seniors cant afford extra $13.00 dollars.also the northeast just had a big snowstorm of 30+ feet and you have your so called big staff here call and want an employer to go to a meeting (Sunday the 10th of Feb.) at 7:00AM and also the 10:00Am.this leader was pushed to try and get to the location, she had no power not shoveled out and this so called person wanted her to see what she could do?this is unbeleiveable.this territory manager should be reprimanted.weight watchers was a lot better when Jean Nidetch was running things.also here in the northeast they got rid of a lot of receptionists because they were 60-70 years old.they are better then this girls that are always sick and dont show.I willo never walk iunto a WW meeting again and my friends either.

I joined for the three months thinking I would like it like I did the meetings I went to several years ago. I did not like it at all. I had problems loading the site. The site is not set up for quick use, I do not like the new wwp plus system at all. I tried to get it canceled so I could use that money to transfer over to meetings but you failed to mention that if you are in my area (South Carolina ) area...You're stuck, they are on an independent system or something and you guys don't deal with them. Had I known that, I would have never joined. So basically, I need to make sure as much of the world knows that in my opinion, WEIGHT WATCHERS on line is very hard to use, would not load half of the time and if you happen to live in an area you guys don't deal with ; they get to keep your money for a slack site and they do you absolutely not good. Would this be correct?

We say this every day to our patients (bariatric pre-ops mostly).. If you don't work for the program, the program isn't going to work for you.

And you should read the fine print in any contract you sign.

It has been a nightmare for me to cancel. They have been and continue to charge me. I left a message with the only number I could find and no one returned my call. My only option left is to call my credit card and try to stop payments.

I hopeWeight Watchrrs monitors this comment.

Ms Marilee Rose through Attorney Ernst, Lebanon, Warren County, Ohio is suing Weight Watchrs Corp. Marilee Rose an 80 year old close to senile woman. Fell at a church weight watchers meeting 07/05/2010. Weight Wathers is not liable nor responsible. Marilee Rose 8292 Gustin Rider Road, 45107 Ohio falls quite frequently. C ontact Warren County Court, Lebanon, Warren County, Ohio. Where she fell 02/03/2011. There was a report filed. Mrs Rose was afraid to seek damages, because of her current lawsuit againxt Weight Watchers Corp.

She had to convince hopeful witnesses after the 07/05/10 fall, to help her seek damages.

There were many medical bills, one can thank the medical establishment in America for that. For a broken elbow? But Rose fell at her own fault just attempting to keep up with a lady to enter into the main church door.

Thank you,

when I signed up last year sometime in nov.2009, I tryed the free week on the website and I decided this wasnt for me, I just got a book on counting calories so I cancelled and a month later I noticed they still took my money out of my account and I kept calling and kept cancelling and they still never cancelled my account or offered a com# this went on for a year and they over drew my bank accounts where I had to pay extra money. Last night I was in tears I added everything up and for 1 yr they cost me 664.00 plus tax with my overdraft fees and I spoke to the superviser and I told him what has been going on for a year and still no one ever cancelled my account nor did they ever email me or give me a com # to let me know it was cancelled. well the superviser gave me a com# and told me that they can not give me my money back, my hard working money. That money was never theirs and I did call and cancelle but they have no records on the computer of me calling or cancelling. They also told me theres no way of them finding out when the last time I was on the website using the calorie counting steps. I told him I dont believe that, they should be able to see who signs in on the weightwatchers account plus I only used it for that one week last year and I am so sure that me next bank statement will say they took more of my money out. They need to stop. They need to give me my money back its not theirs and never was. They lie and scam and can not be trusted and should be off the market.I am so sick to my stomach and I really honestly think they are doing this to alot of people and I am about to research it on my own and as a team we will sue them for every penny they owe us plus alot more. If there is anything you can do to help please let me know.thanks

you feel taken advantage of and I understand that. But you did agree to the service contract as it was written. From what you say the responsibility is yours and yours alone as it is all clearly spelled out in the contract. If i were you I would have called the 1-800 number first.

Well, I supposedly signed up for a weight watcher program last August for $65.00 and they automatically renewed my subscription every month until I realized I was being charged $16.95 monthly thru March and immediately canceled my so called membership. I also notified my credit card company that I did not authorize any of it. I doubt I will ever see a refund for a service I never received. If they did send me recipes each month, I'm sure I just deleted them as junk mail.

I cancelled my monthly pass before it was due 12-1-08
I see you have charged me for the month of December,
there was no reason for this and do want my credit card credited for the $12.95 immediately. Enough notice was given so that there was no need for the
additional charge. I am checking my credit card for
the credit and will inform my credit card company to
no longer accept charges from you.
Please take care of this matter immediately. Money is
tight and do not feel it is fair for you to keep charging.

Weight Watchers has the worst website I've ever tried to use and worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. Okay - that's not true. Its the third worst.

Their web pages took over a minute to load. It could be my connection, but I didn't have any problems with any other pages at that time. I wanted to cancel my membership after 3 hours (because I didn't have all effing day to wait for page loads) and I got charged $45. Seriously?!?!? $29.95 sign-up fee and $16.95 for the month?

So, I want to talk to a human being and no, you can't find one telephone number on the entire website. Email is the best you can do. All I have for them are expletives and bad juju.

Now I have to take this issue to my bank to have them deal with it. Totally annoying.

Ditto to all of the above. WW on line is NOT user friendly, and I must conclude that after all my attempts to get help on line - ZERO. I tried to get info on WW program on line, but had to give a credit card to access the system. Voila, instantly billed. After much back and forth with WW and the credit card company, Weight Watchers reluctantly credited me for "shipping and handling"! Some friendly system.
Considering the cost of the products they sell, the frequently re-doing of programs and all the other accessories, one can only conclude that WW is PRIMARILY a program to make money, and secondarily a plan to lose weight.

They are difficult to deal with.

I have attempted on several occassions to cancel my weight watchers account, as I have never accessed the online website nor attended any meeting with the exception of the first and only one in October, 2007, only to have my bank account charged once again. I have spoken to actual people quite a few times between the months of may through september and am continually assured that my account is NOW cancelled. Sure enough, the following month i find new charges to my bank account and again speak to someone who tells me there is no record of my calls to cancel. My account number is W379819. I would for once and for all have this account cancelled and my bank account left alone. I expect a credit for the months of July, august, sept and october as these are the only cards I didn't throw away since they kept coming in the mail despite the fact that I was under the impression that my weight watchers account was cancelled.

I have had the same issues. I've been getting charged for 3 months and had no idea. I only wanted a 4 month $60.00 membership ... now it is going on for months after it should have ended. They seem to think this is okay business practice. It's terrible.

I have filed a complaint with my bank to dispute the charges and to stop any transactions from WW.

Very very bad business practices and terrible costumer support.

I never activated monthly pass and cannot get a refund. They keep asking me for the same things over and over. It is a scam. I contacted BBB and they are still playing games. I think a class action suit is in order. I wonder how many people have not received their refunds because they couldn't keep up with WW's BS.

You are all ###s. Why is it so hard for you to follow simple instructions? I have been in WW many times, and cancelled online successfully every single time, without any problems. That said, if you really are contacting WW, and they really aren't helpful-dispute the charge with your bank/CC company. VERY SIMPLE.

And, for those of you that are posting your addresses, names, monthly pass numbers and so forth--who do you think you are providing this information to? This is a complaint board for WW. Do you think WW is trolling this site looking for people to help?

I mean, seriously people. Take some personal responsibility and stop acting like petulant children.

I joined WW in Seattle, Washington. A week later I came to Arizona and cannot use my monthly pass as they are a separate franchise. I will be joining here.

I have just received my first months pass in my forwarded mail (from Seattle) and will send it back today.

It seems to me that there has to be an answer for those that are traveling between states.
