Waste Management [WM] Illegal trash collection at 5am violating fairfax county noise ordinances

Regularly, a Waste Management truck performs pickups at 5AM (for reference trash pickup before 7AM is illegal according to Fairfax county noise ordinances) at the loading dock behind the Unique Thrift Store off Gallows Road, which is directly adjacent to the Eden’s Mosaic District Community and about a 100 feet from several apartment buildings in the community. During the pickups a loud blaring backup alarm can be heard, also metal clanging and the trucks loud fog horn can be heard. Because I am not a customer there is no way for me speak to waste management to get this to stop. This morning (9/22/2022 at 5AM) I attempted to speak with the driver (Truck Number 416152) directly explaining that he was outside pickup hours and waking up the whole community and his response was, “OK, whatever”. Next steps if I can’t get resolution here will be to contact Fairfax county code compliance.

Desired outcome: This appears to be a regular pickup / occurrence. I’d appreciate it if someone would contact the driver and people involved in authorizing this pick up and please get it to stop

Waste Management [WM] Im trying to see how long have wait before look for my clothes and remove the dirty syringes

I was told would look through landfill for garbage with clothes in it do thorough search where there dig if bury haven't did yet. I'm still waiting my clothes be retrieve along removing other things from landfill dirty syringes from there too. Along other clothes should remove from landfill. Remove everything don't belong in the landfill. Im trying located in Garbage that has aqua marine light tye dye capris, black pullover hoodie,pink grey stipe long sleeve shirt, and dark blue blue jeans, light brown jeans. Thanks

Desired outcome: Retrieve missing clothes of value to me from landfill along with removing other clothes and dirty syringes among other things don't belong in landfill.

Waste Management [WM] Residential delivery/ Starting service

Ordered a residential drop off of trash/recycling containers. Order first scheduled for 9/9 and then was pushed to 9/16. Called to ensure delivery would be on that date, was told it would be. Order then pushed to 9/23. Called again to ensure delivery would be on 9/23, was told it had a truck and route scheduled for the day. Did not receive containers or an update on service being delayed again until 9/30. Currently sitting on a month's worth of trash taking up half my garage.

Desired outcome: Trash gone immediately, containers delivered, weekly service initiated. Refund for charge to set up service.

Waste Management [WM] Extra bag charges / overcharging / dubious business practices

Waste management charged me for 2-3 extra bags FOR YEARS. They confirmed this by reviewing their camera footage. They apologized but only offered a refund for the past bill, not the years and years of overcharging I have paid. I escalated the situation and they said “it’s the customers responsibility to make sure they are not being overcharged” even though they admit error. I believe waste management is deceiving customers and adding additional bag charges realizing that no one will notice. Potentially this issue has cost me thousands of dollars.

Desired outcome: Refund of all extra bag charges as no extra bags can be seen on camera footage

Waste Management [WM] Disposal service paid, and not received

I was sent a letter saying I could get a refund for services not rendered. WM sent a letter saying this, see photo, because they are no longer picking up in my area. They told me I could not have a refund on service they did not provide, out right refused, even though they sent a letter saying I deserved a refund. In 5 weeks the trash has been picked up 2 times, and before that, I was lucky if they did come every week.

I have the letter as proof that they were offering a refund, and to call the number to receive said refund. I did call, and instead of getting my money back, I was ignored and treated badly, and told that I paid for the service, there is no refunds.

If they did NOT provide a service, my money should be given back.END.OF.STORY. Not even to mention the letter they sent saying I should get a refund, no, get to keep my money and do nothing.

Leaving me to pay for trash service from another company, while I had already paid for my service until November.

Desired outcome: I want my money back, since I have to pay another trash company to come get my refuse.

Waste Management [WM] Service of the Landfill Brimfield Illinois Dirty Syringes bury

I am wondering if you all ever going dig up dirty syringes out landfill along with clothes that was thrown away shouldn't be there among other things. Im trying to see if anyone going even going help me retrieve my missing clothes while process removing the contaminated needles? I feel should be remove from Landfill along removing clothes so can be properly recycle. The dirty syringes would be discard correctly into containers. Thanks

Desired outcome: Remove dirty syringes don't belong in landfill that bury in dirt along with the clothes don't belong in the landfill. Retrieve my missing clothes.

Dear Waste management no one do anything help me retrieve my clothes said would dig to see my clothes bury on top that told couldn't because dirty syringes in landfill that don't suppose to be allow into landfill show throw anything landfill not caring about Humanity earth soil and water. I notice Peoria dealing air smelling like weird gas from landfill than top overfilling landfill when can remove clothes and dirty syringes properly. Instead worry loosing billion dollars from company took time make difference and process take away someone frustration. Clothes don't belong landfill need to be recycle properly. My clothes need to be return to me instead sitting garbage underneath dirt. The rest clothes need to be recycle properly and dirty syringes should be dispose into case and burn. I going look see can find someone can help me volunteering helping me to make difference is Good cause. In process retrieve clothing. Even if waste management feel my clothes loss cause. I don't feel the same very valuable to me Thanks

Waste Management [WM] buyback center

employees respectful and helpful whom I enjoy to see how well they are organized and work together , most of all willing to help at least every time I go in that's what I see. I had to say the goods not just the bad only because I really love going to Santa Maria Waste Management location better than to any other place, but sadly on my visit on Saturday an elderly gentleman didn't seem to care of his action. As I was waiting for the workers to finish weighing my material he grabbed a blower and started doing a disaster. I don't know if he realized what he was doing but all the bottle caps, dirt, and also the glass was being blown to my self and other customers and the poor workers too. Wouldn't want to go anywhere else since I enjoy going to this recycle place better than anywhere else for a few years already, but would want this issue to be addressed to the proper management and resolved to make this a wonderful facility, thank you again

Desired outcome: Would want person in charge to talk to the gentleman so things like that won't happen again to either myself or other customers

Waste Management [WM] Residential service termination issue

Called WM on 8-3-2022 and cancelled WM trash service effective on [protected]. We then received an invoice (#[protected]) on 9-1-2022 for the monthly service in the amount of $33.93.

Invoice #[protected] should never have been generated but now we have WM bill collectors harassing us for payment.

We stopped receiving trash service on [protected] and the tote was picked up from our location on [protected].

Desired outcome: Invoice #[protected] needs to be removed from our account immediately

Waste Management [WM] Cart Removal Fee

We are military and got orders to move this month. So, I set my service to cancel end of this month. Little did I know I would get charged $75 plus tax to have my can removed. I was never told about such a fee when I signed up with WM. Also, I originally signed up with a different company who was bought out by WM, and services were transferred over automatically. My bill is only $48 ($85 with tax) every 3 months, so why is the fee $75? I shouldn’t be forced to pay a fee I didn’t know about or with a company I didn’t even want to be with.

Desired outcome: Pay just Final Bill and $75 Cancelation Fee not Charged

Waste Management [WM] residential trash service

Left a message to have supervisor call me back. No call in 12 days.

Trash man dropped our trashcan and made a mess and instead of picking up the mess, he drove off. When confronted, he said he was the only gig in town and he could do whatever he wanted. He wasn't going to clean up the mess.

Trash was scheduled to be picked up within 24 hours.

No call no show

Desired outcome: Trash man to pick up our trash according to our HOA contract and stop causing strife. Do your job and be kind.

Waste Management [WM] Trash not picked up

I was told by customer service that my bulk item can be a bag. Today, September 10, 2022,was our bulk pickup week and they left my bulk item. This is not the first time they have done this. Our trash collectors only take what they deem acceptable. Sometimes leaving trash for several weeks. This is not the first time they have left my bulk item and I find this highly unprofessional and unacceptable. I feel if I am paying for trash collection that my trash should be collected. I was also told by customer service that I was permitted one bulk item per week. Now I am told that it is only the first full week of the month. If I am only to have one bulk item per month then why is it that the truck drivers decide which items they will take and which they won't. I have tried to call customer service to speak with a manager, however no one ever returned my calls.

Desired outcome: I want the trash collection folks to start doing their job.

Waste Management [WM] Waste Management Service Tuolumne County in its entirety

I have lived at this service address for a little over a year and have had nothing but complaints and problems with the trash pickup. Our friend that is renting the home to use lived there for 10 years and never had a problem with placement prior to this, so we moved the cans as suggested, then it was stated placement was wrong again so we moved them back, then again, on, and on. At times the trash is never picked up at all. This week I was explained that the extra bags would be picked up due to our cans being taken because I forgot to pay my bill, which is understandable, although "Judy" stated "I will tell them to pick up all the extra bags, so be sure to set them where the cans will be dropped off." Well now I have multiple bags of trash everywhere due to the dogs in the area because they did not pick up the bags as stated they would, and they will not come back for an extra pick up until next week! This is ongoing monthly at times weekly! I am so over this already, it is ridiculous, and I hate to say it but we are the only HISPANIC family in the area now or EVER! and the owners themselves report they never had this problem prior to us moving in when they lived there!

Desired outcome: Pick up my dang trash when you say you will, and follow through with your job as you should since you get paid for it anyways!

To whom may concern is there own of Brimfield Landfield can talk to since landfield number 2 suppose to be shutdown in next year because getting to overfill with things. Waste Management [WM] Trash removal

After receiving my last bill for trash removal from Waste Management, I could no longer afford to use them for my trash and recycle removal. On July 18, 2022, I called to cancel my service and was told that since I was in the middle of my contract term I was not eligible for a credit. I was also told that I would be charged a $75.00 removal fee. The containers were supposed to be removed on July 21, 2022. They were not removed until August 20, 2022 after many phone calls on my part. I received a bill for $127.73 which included the removal fee as well as other fees. I do not feel that I should be charged these fees as I have no contract indicating that I would be charged anything for canceling with them.

Desired outcome: I would like the removal of the removal fees of $127.73.

I am filing a Complaint. I have been a customer of Waste Management since 1994. This year the price was raised so high I can no longer afford to use Waste Management for my trash removal services. On July 18, 2022, I called to cancel my service contract and was told that because I was in the middle of the contract period I would not be receiving any credit. I can find no written contract that says there are time limits. I was also told that there would be a $75 removal fee for taking away the containers. The containers were supposed to be picked up on July 21, 2022. They were not picked up until August 20, 2022 after numerous phone calls. When I received the bill for the removal of the containers it included other fees and now I owe $127.73.

Waste Management [WM] Ridiculous fake cancelation fees.

We had this business trash and recycling service for 20 years. Tried to cancel today because rates tripled and they want a $2000 cancelation fee! They're saying we have a contract and are breaking it. What contract lasts more than 20 years? Extortion at it's finest. What the heck. We are a non profit and can't afford these fees. What help is there for this situation? Do we file a BBB dispute? Small claims court? What exactly?

Desired outcome: Remove their containers at no cost as it should be after 20 years.

Waste Management [WM] Irresponsible bulk pick

I made a Bulk Pickup request on 8/29/2022 and was confirmed that pickup would be on 8/31 with Order# 258568. The driver did not come. I called Waste Management Company on 9/1. I was told that the driver reported that my residence road was blocked. Obviously he looked the road sign that states the crosseing road is blocked that is actually way above my residence. As a matter of fact, all regular pickup services on the same day were completed without any issue. The bulk pickup driver was very incompetent and could not read the road sign correctly. The rep from WM agreed to arrange a bulk pickup on that day (9/1). To my disappointment, it was not done. I had to call agin on 9/2 and the rep confirmed that these three items would definitely be picked up on that day.

They did not pick them up on 9/2, 9/3 and these three bulky items have been on the curbside for a week. I still don't know when will they be able to exercise ther responsibility. Unfortunately, except a customer servcie phone number that could only be answered by person within limited hours during working days, there no other ways to contact WM. I hope this message might reach them?

Waste Management [WM] Garage pickup

Sept.4 2022, trash scheduled for pick up 2 Sept 2022, then phone message says "to be completed Sept 3 2022, then No pickup that Saturday or Sunday and Monday is Labor day. Neighbors have already switched services and trash always picked up!

On numerous occasions trash not picked up on scheduled day or following day. Twice not picked up at all! Company raises fees and decreases services. Trash is placed as instructed on curb, and sits, no reimbursement just stinking trash! Do not if under new management, been with company 30yrs! As senior citizen, disabled veteran feel like hostage!

Waste Management [WM] Cancel services

I am filing a complaint due to price hikingand trying to cancel services, I have had garbage services since 2009 with Veola and paid 43/a month Veola sold out to waste Management and my garbage bill is up to 187.50 a month, they empty 2 times a month. I tried to cancel services and they said I had a contract with Veola which when they bought the company they also bought the contracts, they told me the contract automatically renewed every 3 years and mine renewed in 2021 unknown to me, they said I can't break contract or I would still have to pay them the 187.50 for the next 2 years until my contract ends in July 2024. So I am paying 187.50 a month for 2 garbage pick ups, next month it will probably be over 200.00 as the prices keep going up with each billing cycle with no notifications that there is a price increase, Oh and it took them from July 5th 2022 until September 3rd to find my supposed contract, this is crazy I can't afford to pay this every month for garbage

Waste Management [WM] Garbage collection

Waste Management failed to pick up my garbage. I contacted the company and was give a new pickup date. They failed to pickup up the trash on the new date. I called the company that day and was told they would pick up by 6 pm. The did not pick up the trash. I called again the next day and was told that they were again on the way. Approximately 1 hour later I was informed they could not pick up my trash.

Customer service mis lead me and they miss and entire week of service. I asked for a credit on my bill for the failed service and was again misinformed. After a three follow up calls I finally was able to reach a supervisor and file a complaint.

Desired outcome: Refund of the lost week of service

Waste Management [WM] Waste management charging for next quarter service even though I’m cancelled and they already picked up the bin.

A couple of months ago, I talked to waste management about prices going up every billing cycle. They offered to price match to one company except that I found a cheaper company. I canceled service. I was paid up till the end of August 31. The final week of August, they marked me as canceled service and I confirmed this over the phone, and they sent someone out to pick up the trash bin. The person I spoke to on the phone told me that ordinarily there was a $75 plus fee to pick up the trash bin but that she was going to waive that on my account and she confirmed this three separate times. I said, “then why is there a balance due for $43 by mid September on my account that says if I don’t pay it on a certain date I owe 312.“ She said she didn’t know. She said she confirmed that I was paid up until 8/31/22 and that they were going to pick up this trash bin from me a few days before so I should not owe any money. I noted that it said if I didn’t pay the 43 by a certain date in September I was going to get bill 312 and she said, “don’t pay the 43 because you don’t know it. If you pay it, you won’t get it back.” I said then how do I get rid of it and she said, “it should just go to zero once your trashcan comes back to us.” It has been a week since they picked up my trashcan and I was here when the guy picked it up and spoke to him. That $43 is still listed as due. Now this makes no sense because I paid up until the end of August 31 and service was cancelled a few days prior. I know that they usually charge $75 to “remove the trash bin” but the woman on the phone specifically said to me that she was “waiving that $75 fee”. She confirmed this three separate times on that conversation. She said, “you are paid up to the point of cancellation, you will owe no money.“ I have checked my online account every single day since then and nothing has changed. Other than that now there is another charge for 80 some dollars that is listed as pending. I have no idea what these charges are for, the 43 and the 80 some dollars. I am paid up to and including the last time they came to pick up my trash the very last week of the last billing cycle. The trash does not stop here anymore and there is no bin owned by waste management. I have spent 2 1/2 hours on the phone just getting this account canceled. I am at my wits end. I just want to be free of this company.

Desired outcome: I want the account marked as canceled online so that I have written proof of it and I want the bill due to read 0.00 because that is what is accurate.
