Waffle House unsanitary

On 7-19-16 as I was eating, I noticed a worker bring out two heads of lettuce wrapped in cellophane. She unwrapped one and quartered it and put about two quarters in the bin for sandwiches, etc. and then proceeded to chop on the remaining part and immediately put it on plates for salads. There was NO washing of this lettuce at all! Do you realize how sick dirty lettuce can make you? To make this even worse, the manager was sitting at the table eating during this and never even noticed it or said a word. I couldn't help but ask my waitress if the lettuce shouldn't have been washed prior to using it and she replied yes, but she (the other worker) didn't do it, did she? She told me she would take care of it, but I never saw her say anything to the manager. This in itself will prevent me from ever going back to this location. I cannot believe a person would subject their customers to things that are likely to make them ill!

Wrong, if you read my post, you'd know I asked the waitress about this and she said they should have washed it before putting it out.

Actually no...I wouldn't even think about doing that! Not only nasty, but dishonest! Additionally, you're not paying for the preparation of food in a grocery store!

Wrong. Customer service is to always tell the customer what they want to hear. You wanted to hear her say they should have washed it, so she said it. When in fact, she, as the waitress, has no idea whether the kitchen person did wash it or not since kitchen work is not a waitress job.

The point is you do not know if the lettuce is prewashed. Most grocery stores sell prewashed produce.

Waffle House service and quality of food

Date of service 5/26/16...Waffle House #1605 located just outside of Canton, GA. My husband and I stopped to eat here about 7:30 pm. I ordered the All Star Breakfast with country ham. There was a little delay in the initial service. Actually saw someone else come in after us and another waiter took care of them before ours approached us. It wasn't that busy. But I could've let that pass. I was so disappointed that everything on my plate was actually cold...not even warm. The grits were lumpy and cold and tasted like water was added to them. My scrambled eggs were cold. I asked for a dark waffle. It was close to burnt, hard, tough and cold. The country ham had a really good taste to it but it also was cold. My husband ordered an egg and cheese sandwich with hashbrowns...His was hot...and he said it was good. I'm assuming they cooked all of mine first and then started on his and brought both to our table at the same time...which took them longer than it should have. Someone needs to show them how to multitask. It was the worst meal I have ever had at Waffle House and I have ate at a lot of them. Sooo disappointed ! I was hungry tonight! Would love to have my 8 bucks back. Will never stop at #1605 again!

Waffle House rude service and poor quality food

Went to Waffle House in Walker, Louisiana and was very disappointed in the quality of the food and service. First of all the grits were not cooked very well and my children said the waffles had a funny taste. The worst part of the experience was the fact that the waitress seemed to be rushing us the whole time we were there. From the moment we sat down they seemed to be trying to get us finished up so the next customers could sit down. To top it off they wanted to charge me for a refill on a coke for my son. Two dollars for five cents of coke. Wow! Every other place in the USA give free refills but not Waffle House. I used to really like Waffle House way back when they seemed to care about customer service and good food. But that was a long time ago I guess. I think this was my final visit to a once good restaurant. So long Waffle House.

Waffle House service, food, air conditioning, dishes

This is the worst experience I have ever had at a Waffle House! We went into the Waffle House located on I-85 and 198 in Blacksburg, SC. When we first went in people were already complaining about how cold it was inside. We ordered coffee and hot chocolate. The cup on the hot chocolate had food on it. The waitress replaced it. It appeared she was very stressed because of a lot going on around her. When she brought our food we complained again about the air conditioner making it so cold and our drinks were luke warm. The waitress did heat them up. The biscuit and the toast were burned. The waitress said she had turned the heat on but instead had turned it down further. I asked to speak to the manager. His name was Jim. The waitress talked to him and she came back. That's when she told us it was her fault about the air conditioner. The manager never came out. We paid and left. I will say that all Waffle Houses are always too cold but this one was as cold inside as it was outside. If I had wanted to eat in a meat locker I would have eaten outside! I will never go back to this Waffle House! It's always too cold inside all Waffle Houses, all year long!

Waffle House incompetent behaviour

Me and my boyfriend went into Waffle House in Raeford this morning to have breakfast after work.Time was 9:30. We seated our selves and waited for someone to come help us. There was 5 waitress's and 2 cooks in there. They saw us walk in. They were just standing around messing with their phones all but 2 who were busy. Finally I said something and the one I spoke to called someone else over. She took our drink order and returned with it and gave us a few minutes to look the menu over. The coffee was hot but the tea was not sweet like we asked for and the glass had very little ice in it. She took our order and when we got it, it was wrong. She took it and showed it to the cook and they started talking amongst them selves. They dumped my hashbrowns in the garbage and put the sandwich on a plate and gave it to him and took his plate and added what I had ordered on it and gave it to me. She was very rude. I ordered hashbrowns smothered, covered and country and he ordered his smothered, covered and capped. I had no onions in my hashbrowns, his had them. He ate the sandwich and had to wait to get the hashbrowns. We watched them remake the hashbrowns and she went to bring it to us and had to turn around because they forgot the cheese. If they had paid attention to what they were doing this would have not happened. Our order was not the only one they messed up while we were there. One costumer told her to replace the tea with a soda she liked because the tea was not sweet. He finished his tea and was asked if he wanted more. Glass had very little ice in it and she just added hot tea to it. I got sick and he got upset. We will never go back to that Waffle House again. They did not know what they were doing and were rude in my opinion.

Waffle House poor management service

I don't like too do this but here goes someone said if you don't speak out there want be any changes too help the employees well here goes my server was a girl name molly who just destroy our whole breakfast this morning by letting us know that she work the night before and kept going on and on about how tired she was that's why she messed up on our food order had too wait for syrup for waffle which doesn't make sense if getting a waffle don't syrup come with it. the eggs and the food was just thrown on the plate I caught her touching our toast on the plate and putting her hands all on our bacon trying too carry so much and half way droping the food and the cook ran out too help her and I notice that must be her boyfriend cause she kept asking him for food and help and he wasn't helping the other server's but her and than she kept going on and on that she is real cool with the manager there she and her will take money off our bill but that wasn't the point me and my family just wanted what we order. I notice the other server who was African American I think her name was paula and she had several tables and an large family she handle all her tables and had there food out faster than ours and ask us for refills on our drinks too. next time we will ask for her that way we don't have too listen too stories and lies about our food or else we wont be back if we have too be served by molly. I try to give someone the benefit of the doubt but that server molly is worthless now ill go too her if me and my husband split and I need boyfriend advice lol I don't think so please just have your workers conduct there self in a professional manner instead of all over the place looking like she is dope up and having boyfriends and girlfriends working together it hurts a company instead of helping.

Waffle House termination

I was terminated today for telling a customer when I would be working. I have heard some of the girls I work with tell customers when they work but nothing was said to them. The manager had me sign a write up form then told me i no longer work for her. I believe I was wrongly terminated. There a lot more things worse than telling customers when you work. Stealing food, continuing to be late every time they work, and sexual harassment.
This is the way this manager is. She already had someone there to work my shift. She knew i rode a cab to work everyday at the cost of $14 both ways. But that didn't bother her. Ater I got home i got a phone call from someone who had called to see if i was working yesterday and this person was told over the phone that i was not working, which i wasn't, i had worked a 13 hour shift the night before, so this person asked was i working tomorrow, which was today, and the girl on the phone told her no. First, the girl that answered the phone told someone she didn't even know that i was not working that day. Second, the whole restaurant must have known before me that i was fired! And one more thing. I was told it takes three write ups to get fired. This was my second write! I feel she terminated me for an unjust reason. This will be reported to the corporate office.

Waffle House refusal of service.

At 11:20 pm 4/26/15. I walked into Waffle House #295 to order coffee and breakfast. They refused me service with no reasonable explanation. I ate at this location years ago and never had a problem until now. Not only was I refused service I was told to leave the premise. Could they have mistaken me for someone else? I want to report this!

Waffle House so cold could not eat

Went in for break fast. So cold our coffee got cold before we could drink it. 2 minutes our coffee was cold. Asked to turn down AC . Hey said no our cooks would get hot! We said we all, all the patrons were freezing! They said sorry but our cooks will get hot. The windows had frost on them... Everyone in the pace all chimed in and asked to turn down the AC. Our waitress had a smart remark and said go somewhere else! We asked politely again they said leave, we did along with 5 other tables! They were rude disrespectful and we will never patron another one as long as we live!

Waffle House over charged

Waffle house is going nut! I paied 11.85 cent for eggs, twoo bacon and hasbrown. I called a order in because I work near the store. When I got there, that was the charge for the meal. I did not have time to fight it. I called back it he said it was because I call it in. Cost mor e for take out. I get everything plus pancakes for 699.

Some restaurants charge for the take-out containers, syrup to go, etc. They just passed the costs onto you. Nothing wrong with that but would have been nice if they told you upfront.

Waffle House no service at all

My husband and I wanted some Waffle House as an early breakfast at 4 this morning. We pulled up to the location in Arlington TX off Little Rd and were immediately greeted by an employee informing us that they cannot serve us due to all their tables being dirty. I peeked inside and every table was filthy, there was only one table occupied by diners. Surprised that they did basically told us to come back another night; we ended up going down The street to iHop. What kind of sorry excuse for customer service does WF have now that they refuse service due to their employees being lazy?

Waffle House poor service, deplorable management

Ever felt ignored? I just got totally ignored by the employees of this Waffle House on November 22, 2012 at approximately 6:35 P.M.. The cook was occupied cleaning the grill and other parts of the cooking area while another cook-type person was on the phone in back. Two waitresses were working the dining area and both appeared to be mad at the world when I came in. It took a while before one of them decided that I must want something and everything went downhill from there. I felt like I was doing the employees a service by coming in. One of the waitresses finally asked me if "she" (referring to the other waitress) had taken my order. I replied that no one had taken my order. She determined that I wanted to eat and took my order. After finally placing my order, the cook quickly prepared most of the meal, all the while listening to his portable music player. When that part of the meal was finished he placed it on the counter and mentioned that the rest would be out shortly. I noticed that the two waitresses were sitting together on the counter facing the food preparation area. I began to eat fully expecting the rest of the order to come soon. It did not. The waitresses finally got up and began washing pots and pans but not once checking on me or on the unfinished order. Both occasionally walked right in front of me without even looking up to see if I needed anything. Finally, I finished eating what had been prepared of the order and decided to just leave. As I approached the cash register, one of the waitresses remembered that I had more of the order coming. I just told her that I was not going to pay for that part of the order but would take care of the part I received. She immediately went on defense, saying that she had told the others to take care of the remainding part of the order. I voiced my concerned, enumerating what I had observed during my short visit. I offered to pay for the part of the order I received but she told me that I did not have to pay for anything. Great gesture but I would have preferred to have my entire order. All I can say is something needs to be done about the deplorable management, lack of motivating leadership and poor employee performance at this Waffle House Since I was the only person sitting at the counter and only two other customers were in the restaurant, I did not think offering service would be difficult. Apparently it was. This is not what I expect from Waffle House, even on the evening shift on a holiday weekend. I am highly disappointed in this Waffle House and especially in the management who evidently condons this kind of poor performance. The employees are only doing what their management encourages and allows.

Waffle House unfairly let go

I worked for waffle house two different times. I worked on the 3rd shift at both stores I worked .I was rehired at the ann street store when I walked in one day and they had no help and ask if I would come back and I knew most of the people who came in there and the people who were working there and they truly needed help, a bunch had walked out on them.But first let me tell you why I am ticked off, , I always showed up for my shift and was only late once and I called to let them know in plenty of time, it was only and hour and I never called out sick, , even ran errands sometime to go pick up employees that needed a ride to work and sometimes go from store to store to pick up something we would be out of at times, just so you know no gas money was I given to me either.But for the moment I will skip that. I started out at the ann street store and later on transfered out to the new store in middlelyne (cant spell it lol)but anyway we were working 3rd shift and we were really busy, in fact the time seem to fly by that night ay way one of the girls I was working with was up by the register and I went to ring up my customer and I told her I was gonna drop all that money and she shut the drawer on me and said she would do it when she rang up her customer so I went on back to work.A bunch of money turned up missing the next morning.and I knew I didnt do it and I suggested we take a lie dectector test but no one would say we could that, , well they let the whole shift go and the girl I thought did it quit the next day because she had another job. Guess what they hired her back a week or so later.
I have always been a very straight forward person and honest, no drugs like some of the people I worked with, I even called waffle house and tried to talk to them but got no where with that...when they rehired me at ann street when they needed me ...then they said after a month that I wasnt suppose to be able to be rehired ...the moral of this true story is, , , being honest and loyal to my job wasnt worth it

Waffle House very rude and unprofessional

After arriving at the Waffle House store #1939 in Birmingham, AL, it was very busy which was to be expected after. There were a lot of people there that attended the Susan G. Coman breast cancer walk. There was a table available for us but wasn’t cleaned yet. So we waited until the waiter bust the table but it still hadn’t been wiped down. The manager on duty tells us that we can sit they will wipe it off in a minute. We immediately told him no we will wait until its completely cleaned before we sit. After it was cleaned we sat and ordered our food. The manager “Terry” constantly puts his hands in and out of his pockets, plays with his cell phone all while making waffles with no gloves. His fingernails were tremendously dirty and he touches the inside of the to-go plates directing orders. We got our food and when my friend tasted her hashbrowns she said they were not done. The waiter came and got her plate, told the manager of the complaint and he “Terry” told the cook to put those hashbrowns back on the grill and cook them harder (the ones that were eaten out of). Later while we sat there eating Terry continued to make waffles with no gloves, playing on cell phone and putting hands in and out of his pockets. He made a waffle and put it on the plate, ended up knocking the waffle off on the floor, the plate broke and the waffle was on top of the broken plate. He hurried and pick the waffle up and put it onto another plate while commenting “This the waffle house now” and sent it out to the customer to eat, like as if they drop people food all the time. He didn’t know if broken glass was on that waffle or not. After that I left. Something needs to be done about this nasty rude and unsanitary environment.
