We don't know much about how Vons handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. Vons Bathroom public health issue

Vons Bishop, CA. 93514 recently added hand dryer blowers and removed the paper towel dispensers from the bathrooms.
Every customer and employee are fearful that the blowers blow around COVID and there are no paper towels to open the door to the restroom.
I will report this to the public health department if not remedied immediately.
Thank you for your prompt attention.

Desired outcome: Remove blowers and replace with two towel dispensers, one for disabled.

Vons Deliveries

Until recently, Vons used its personnel to deliver groceries ordered online. It was exemplary. Drivers had Vons refrigerated trucks, with special dollies that could hold at least 15 bags. Deliverers would not accept tips, saying that was Vons policy. They knew how to use the keyboard at the lobby door to gain entrance.
Then Vons switched to using (in my location, possibly others) DoorDash to deliver its orders. Not a single DoorDash order has been satisfactory. Examples:
-Because deliverers must use their own vehicles, frozen foods are often melted.
-A bag of groceries was missing. Vons said they sent it, so it was probably forgotten in a DoorDash driver's car.
-One driver didn't speak English, and couldn't figure out how to use the entry keyboard. I tried to help him over the intercom, but communication was impossible.
-Drivers have no dollies. A driver had to make numerous trips to deliver 13 bags to my apartment.
-Tips are virtually required. I pay them willingly, but it adds to the cost of the groceries.
-If you tell Vons customer service of problems with DoorDash delivery, they say they (Vons) have nothing to do with deliveries; they fill the bags, and DoorDash picks them up.

It is a foolish policy by Vons; they may save $, but they lose customers. I used Vons for grocery delivery since the start of COVID precautions. I'm switching to Whole Foods, which uses Amazon for deliveries.

Desired outcome: Vons returns to using Vons employees to deliver groceries.

Vons Dogs in grocery store

I entered Vons store located on Clairemont Dr, San Diego on W/we at 430pm.
As I gathered vegetables, a woman walked in with her dog on leash. Dog was not wearing any identification reflecting a service dog. She walked past the employee who stands at aisle 8, instructing guests to the next available check out station. He did nothing.

I was in another aisle, where a woman had her small dog in the cart. Again, dog did not have any identification of service dog.

I then ran into a 3rd woman whose dog was in a cart. This dog wore an identification is service dog. The cart was lined with a blanket, which the dog sat in.

What are the california laws regarding animals in the store? I thought they passed a law that forbids animals who are not a service animal from entering.

Are you breaking a law? If so, shame on von's for breaking a law and allowing animals to possibly contaminate a store that sells food for consumption.

This happens at the Vons in my area and this problem needs to be solved.

The dog owners are selish and don't care about people at all, they have no concern
about others health and well being, they don't understand how there are people
with allergies and in some cases servere .

Dogs are near produce and this is sickening, I bought strawberries in a plastic
container, put the strawberries in the sink and noted white dog hair,
I was furious took the strawberries back to Vons, they refused to refund
me .

The dog owners need to leave the dogs at home

There is no such thing as service dog identification. No government at any level issues them. They can be purchased from many companies that give the impression they are official badges. They also offer meaningless "service dog" vests.
Yes, they are breaking the law. The ADA spells out in detail what the requirements are.
The dogs-in-stores situation in San Diego is very bad. Managers say they're not allowed to ask a dog's status, but the ADA lists what they can ask, .

First, the rules are for health reasons. In most cities violations are reported to the health department.
Second, you may enjoy animals, but not everyone does. Some people have tigers as "pets." Should they be allowed to bring them into stores?

Vons Service

My husband bought roses for me for Valentine's day on 2/14 purchase time between 3-4pm. When I opened the roses all the pedals just fell off. Obviously I wasnt going to return them the day of Valentine's so we did today and both my husband and I went into Vons at different times; on 19th street in Rancho cucamonga ca 91701 but neither the supervisor nor the cashier that remembered my husband there the day prior buying it from him wouldnt do anything about it. I, Mrs. Walsh have been shopping at this Vons for over 20 yrs and we're NEVER going back again. The fact that they gave us such a hard time to give us back the money for dieing flowers purchased on Valentine's day.
All because my husband didnt keep his reciept nor use his vons number because that was the ONLY item purchased which he didnt expect to have issues with! The sign even stated freshness gauranteed!

The cashier even remembered him but they did NOTHING to assistance! Very very disappointing!

Vons Staff

Poor customer service, poor listening skills, unable to glorified the moment of truth. Your staff was running their mouths like motor mouths with some shoppers. While not assisting other shoppers or offering help. My problem sick just got out of ER, was dizzy, unable to find things with easy. All your staff failed me in my greatest time of need. Your cashier told me she was hard of hearing at Vons Twain Las Vegas store. This behavior is high unacceptable. I want someone fired. You can hire better help. Phyllistine Simmons I need corporate information.

Vons Pharmacy service

I am a 74 year old resident of Pasadena, Ca and per the Governor of California and the Pasadena Health Department I qualify right now for the Covid 19 vaccine. The drug store at Vons on California refused to administer it to me saying I had to be 75. That is incorrect.

Vons Overcharging grocery purchase

I shopped the specials and coupons including buy one get one free for Ritz Crackers, Nabisco Chocolate Chunk cookies and other products and more than 60% was charged wrong. I was overcharged by $23.00 on a 63.00 purchase and had to stand at the register going over all the overages for 10 minutes following checkout. This is disgraceful and I will never shop at vons again the "computer" is not to blame - people are - and this overcharging problem is not the first time this has happened to me - only the latest and by far worst yet! You should not be in business when your customer has to take time to check every item purchased for mistakes and rest assured it will the last time I experience this at vons. Ralphs is way better at controlling their business and I have never has do doubt the purchases I make. This is a disgrace. I am on cal fresh as well so every dollar counts!

Desired outcome: I don't know - assurances you know how to correct these problems and issue me a voucher for free purchases for $23.00 would be a start.

Vons Racial profiling

On the evening of 11/16/20, while attempting to check out @ the self-check machine from Vons Store #2355, I was subjected to racial profiling.

All lines to the registers were fairly long, self-check being the shortest so I opted to use that. While waiting to checkout, I observed the attendant whose name I'm told was Paul, kept looking over to me. When my turn to checkout was up, Paul proceeded to stand directly next to the machine I was using and watch me specifically, only leaving my side when a different self-check machine was malfunctioning. Throughout my transaction, Paul proceeded to interrupt me to check item-by-item all off the things that I scanned, at one point reaching into the bagged grocery items in my cart to ensure it was paid for! At that point I was completely fed-up and demanded a Manager. After waiting for some time, security showed up instead of the Manager; the attendant Paul took the security to the side and began whispering, afterwards security came over to me questioning my bagged groceries. Finally another male showed up whose badge read Bill who stated he was the Supervisor. I recounted the issue of the attendant profiling me, interrupting my transaction and reaching into my cart to check all of my bagged groceries - the Supervisor defended the attendants actions claiming it was simply apart of his normal duties. Funnily enough however, none of the other customers had their bags checked item-by-item to ensure everything was paid for. None of the other customers had an attendant staffed directly at their register throughout their transactions or had security question them. The Supervisor was not cooperative in giving the Store information or Manager name, luckily the Store Manager is printed at the top of each receipt - they can be expecting an investigation against discriminatory profiling practices.

I had a similar experience at a different store. The black employee stood by me at the self checkout and stared as a I scanned my items, watched me pay but a receipt didn't print out. She insisted I could not leave the store with my purchases, even though she had watched me pay and could see on the screen it said was my card was approved and that the self checkout had then reset for the next customer. She did not watch any of the other customers, who were the same race as herself, just me. I told her to f_uck off and left the store with my purchases. End of story.

Vons Organic cranberry sauce

I was forced to buy the Safeway O brand WHOLE BERRY Cranberry SAUCE because there wasn't any other kind. What I got in the can was a watery and overly cranberry flavored substance that could have been drunk through a straw since there wasn't a single whole berry in it. I am very disappointed and would like a full refund sent to my address below. Please see the pics below to witness the watery mess you want to call whole berry cranberry sauce🤮

Vons Online delivery charges to credit card

It has been a struggle for online shopping with Vons-Albertsons. The purchase system involved in ordering online an delivery is too difficult on the consumer. The customer has to check and recheck status of the amount charged and paid. Usually a nominal amount is charged to your account until the order is complete, delivered, and the True Full Charge is known. Now, Vons has decided to charge the full amount of the purchase, immediately. So if your "rewards" and coupons, etc. are taken off or (which happens every order) there are substitutions or items missing, the Real Charge can been $100 difference on a $150 order. So the store get to keep the charge interest (example $100) for a few days (which would be huge with many people ordering) and then will either delete the current charge and replace. Who can tell? This system of payment just started. Probably will stop ordering for delivery online from this company.

Vons No social distancing,

I was at your Vons store in Big Bear City, CA 10-9-20 to get some food for our vacation and was very upset about how many people were in the store, way over crowded no social distancing, there was no one there to allow folks in so there would NOT be any overcrowding but folks were shopping on top of each other, I think the state needs to look into this ive never seen a store with the virus going on so overcrowded, I will not be doing anymore of my shopping where I live anymore with your stores.

Vons Management

I was at Vons in Bonita (on Bonita Road) around 1:30 pm, Monday, September 7, 2020. What a disorganized store! The checkout process is the worse - even worse than Ralphs. They should fire the manager and hire another person to figure this out. I know part of the reason is because of the Covid-19 mess. People are standing around not knowing which line to stand in. I was standing in line being shuffled back and forth and I had only 2 items!

Usually has great employees but I’ve had a few running’s with a particular employee a short woman with short hair..Has a nasty attitude with no customer service abilities..it’s hard to see how Vons continues to offer employment to this woman

Vons Netspend Debit Card

I purchased a $500 debit card yesterday from Von's in Henderson (89052). I have tried to activate the card on my cell phone, by calling, and also on my PC. I have tried different phone numbers provided by Netspend but I have had no luck.

In short, I have not been able to activate the card so I am basically out of $500; the store manager won't help.

Vons Meat department

I live under a mile from your store on san fernando mission / balboa in the san fernando valley. I've been as patient as I can with this meat department. I've been shopping here since oct 2019. Not long but long enough. They are always out of meat add product and tell me the same thing each visit. You have to be here by 2 lol. Omg really? I managed meat departments for 22 years and maybe twice a year ran short on meat ad items. This manger is so bad that today when I showed up they had 100 packages of thin cut ribeyes and zero thick or even regular cut. I'm done wasting my time here. You've lost a customer. But if you like I will train your manager at this store before you lose more of me. My phone is [protected]. Name is jim harwell. You are welcome to contact me when you've let this manager go. You lose 2, 000 minimum weekly in sales in meat at this store. You lose 50 a week from me alone.

Vons Product marked on way, sold differently (more expensive)

Today I went to our local Vons in Avalon (the only supermarket we have here). I usually buy 4-8 gallon bottles of Crystal Geyser water when I go shopping. Today I found large 6-Packs of the gallon bottles for $6.49 (see attached picture). When I went to purchase them, the assistant manager was at the checkout and she said no, those only sell individually. I told her no, and there was a tag. She walked back with me, said she didn't understand it, removed the tag, and made me buy them individually.
This made me very angry as things are supposed to be sold as they were (clearly) advertised.

Vons I am complaining about cashier edgar

I went to the Vons located in walnut to purchase four bags of cherry which is $3.99 per pound. When I paid, it comes with $5.99 Per pound. I asked cashier Edgar why the price is different and he was really rude and said he asked me about apply the Vons card, but he has never told me about the price different. I totally understand there is price different between the Vons member and the regular customer. I am upset about the cashier's attitude, it seems like he does not treat me like customer.

Vons Profiled by security

I was confronted by security at Vons. Date: Monday June 1st, 2020 at approximately 5:30 pm. The security guard wanted to see my receipt and I asked why. The security guard stated she did not see me check out. I went to the manager and told her and showed my receipt. I have been followed and observed by security guards at this Vons before. I have lived in the neighborhood for 5 years and this Vons is next to my house on Brant Street. I ask why me and now I know why. I am a large black guy and a retired U..S. Marine. I will never visit another Vons. I might also visit a lawyer.

Vons Ribeye steaks

Went to Vons in Montebello CA. to buy their Coupon Advertised Ribeye Steak.
None to be found in the meat section, so I went to the register clerk and asked for a raincheck. Was told "NO". I asked show me where you have it in writing you don't do rainchecks. The assistant manager "Rocio" came over and waved her finger up into in the air and says "somewhere around here". I said no, there is no posting anywhere, not even on your coupon so please write my Raincheck.
Answer was still "NO". Then her attitude became like just go away, I don't have time you, which was very rude. I said this is wrong and asked for her name because I'm going to file a complaint with your Regional Manager. Her answer was "Go Ahead!" Basically so what! -Rude again?
If "Rocio" doesn't like taking proper care of Vons guests then please find someone who cares about doing it.
If you have a real policy it should be written and posted for everyone to see. I hope guests that come to shop at Vons aren't regularly being dismissed away?

Vons Staff, service, etc.

This Vons is so poorly run! They make "rules" but don't enforce them uniformly, if at all. The staff are surly and take every opportunity to scold customers. There has never been a waiting line to get in until very recently.
Today, while waiting in line FOREVER just to get inside (haven't they heard that CA is opening back up again?) the nasty lady in charge of admissions actually let a guy right in just because he was coming to pick up flowers. I was only coming in to pick up broccoli, but I had to wait. Then, when my turn finally came, she actually hollered at me to get in because it was my turn. Unbelievable. I brought a single bag from home to carry my broccoli home because I had walked to store. Some lady was practically on top of me in the checkout line, but nobody corrected her. Anyway, I was using the pad to enter my debit card and holding the bag in my left hand, not making any move to lay it down anywhere...but the very rude cashier scolded me, saying that I'm not allowed to put my grocery bag on the belt. Not only was I past the belt without putting my bag on it, I never had any intention of laying it down at all.
Everyone working in that store is rude, rude, rude...and power-hungry. They just love telling people what to do and how to do it.
I live within walking distance of this store but choose to drive 5 miles out of my way to Ralphs, where the staff are courteous and helpful--and where I have never been scolded.

Vons Chobani yogurt delivery

The store in Mission Hills staff are extremely rude, I have been hung up on, told to just "live with it" and cursed at. This store charges me for special bulk orders, does not deliver and then keeps our money unless we complain. Then we have to wait 7 business days and multiple calls to get it resolved. Why have a bulk purchase program that never works and rude employees who do not care.
