Vivint review: Save yourself torture!! You will find yourself months/$$$$$/energy/stress later wishing you took my advice.

Worse purchase/decision. I never write negative reviews however I feel I need to rescue others from avoidable/unnecessary/COSTLY $$$$ torture. The times we attempted to find/access footage. Issues. 5 visits later-each with “now fixed” 6k later! 2200 in UNAUTHORIZED/unknown charges. AC pipes kicked during installation in attic causing 1600 ac repair-not to mention 115 degrees in Fl with no AC for 4 days. Never had decency of telling us they grown duct/pipe while crawling up there. 5 days later-AC person found kicked and broken (trail of attic install of cams). Thankfully AC person is great asked if anyone up there. New home and inspector was up there weeks prior and footage from his report had perfect ducts. Inside was perfect and the issue was from installation and person breaking duct while crawling. Made comment about our AC after visit (very random and now we know why). We had to purchase an into and install in bedroom to have some air and be able to sleep since ac down. So between all-we are down 7800. Frustration and regret is an understatement! stay far away! You are better off with a $100 Amazon cam. More reliable. This is what you see if/when attempt to access (see-one photo). visits later (one no call no show). Cost 349 to “fix” (purchasing another DVR). One visit - other iCloud - $131 - each visit will cost your more $; all footage deleted - and issue NEVER ADDRESSED. (husband notified me the sign they put on your lawn actually cost us $. I almost died laughing) this was the cherry! A neighbor now installed due to our referral and they never credited $200. Now he has issues. We have 8 cams and all have issues. They do everything you don’t want and don’t do anything you purchase system to do. I never write reviews but do not torture yourself. I decided to write this after countless hours of - resetting/rebooting/hours upon hours, upon hrs (18 I would estimate-NOT exaggerating (phone calls alone! I promise).Transferred from one genius to the next, then next. Typically involves more charges and not refunding incorrect ones or cameras issues. Sending pointless emails with cc and bank info. nightmare begun 8/4/25. Today is 11/22/25. Aside of calls to customer service. And each visit ranging 2-5 hours. The time I have wasted trying to find/rewind/fix! Has led me to write this. Only other lucky Vivint customers would understand how one can become this frustrated. After being robbed by cleaning ladies (no footage); person asking to open door stating pest control (no footage). If system decides to consider an event “an event” also takes it upon itself to record as many seconds as it pleases-IF YOU attempt to rewind- you have NOTHING - except msgs stating to reboot. Which takes very long, accomplishing nothing. Also if you call tech support-will waste even more time - being transferred - then guided to waste more time - to send a human out- to waste more time - then advised to purchase a majic fix it all and the cycle continually repeats. So if you are hoping to find a crime scene. DONT. You will not. Also-system detects a leaf as a person - but if person - does not record event/footage not accessible. Audio off. If you speak into cam-doesn’t work. If you set alarm in phone - it somehow turns off. If you turn off-it turns back on so you have constant false alarms-while running in with groceries and blowing ears out. Alarms are meant to give peace of mind. Vivint has caused family and myself all the opposite of peace of mind - now here I am speaking of how horrible it is. Now I wasted more of my life writing this, thinking of this and speaking to others about Vivint. My referral gift never made it - also- the 20% promised install discount - was actually 10%. All started 8/4/25 - we have 13 charges. We are at 6k -8k system was $upposed to be $3668.
