Cancelled my Vivint, letter wrote the beginning of Nov., fax the middle of Nov., phone call the beginning of Dec to make sure it was cancelled. Payments taken out 2. First Account Manager- We didn't get a phone call and ours is a two part cancelation. You have to fax and then phone. Not according to my contract? But I did phone? Account Manager- We have no record of it, we will have to issue a check.
Second phone call new Account Manager, How many do they have? Account Manager -I can see on the screen you did phone in Dec but she didn't cancel it out right. Oh now they find the phone call? But she confirmed it had already been cancelled? Account Manager We don't have your information to put your money back into your bank account when you cancel it. So cancelled it this morning so that you couldn't pay it back into my account? I wanted to talk to someone in the company and got refused repeatedly. The have closed their Canadian offices but have an army of door to door every spring here.

Advice when cancelling from their FB page cancel it by fax and then phone to make sure they do it. They don't always cancel with the fax so make sure you phone. Make sure you do it over a month in advance of they will still take your money. If you only give them the 30 days they will probably take another payment out.

I want an apology from someone higher then their many ACCOUNT Managers.

No I followed the instructions on my contract for Canada. They still come to my door 2 or 3 times a year. The other day the person dressed in their bright orange shirt told me he was not trying to sell Vivint but some other supplier. Who do they think they are kidding. I was told I owned the sign but they took it. I got all my money back every red cent and filed a complaint with every consumer group that would take my complaint. They are thieves.

Sorry my contract was expired. You have a choice of taking the equipment with you or leaving it. The newer contracts are different. Basically comes down to you signed a contract. Maybe ask the company for a buy out amount maybe on your Contract. I notice they now have a permanent installer where I live so more problems. Have you tried the site above for suggestions? You should see the mess they left in my house, holes in the wall Sounds like your installer left a mess and I hope it didn't cost you anything to fix the telephone.

Many times I asked for itemized statement of cancellation charges. They avoid, obfuscate,

deny and flatly refuse to provide documents. If you are able to talk to someone, They either don't know anything or drop the call. Then they continue to bill and refer to collection agency. FTC needs to know about this and take action.

Horrible company. No customer service help, they would not even put a supervisor on. Tried cancelling 4 times and still being charged monthly for a year after first cancelling. Tried again today. Required a hand written note… WTH.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR THEIR SERVICES!

For me, they said I had 3 days to cancel. So I canceled within the 3 days but the person on the phone said I had 30 days regardless. I am 4 months in and they still never canceled my contract. Even after following their process exactly as they want it. Very deceptive company

I am going through this right now. I have called in and emailed in as I was told to. Had their installer take everything out last March and I am still getting payment taken out. So frustrating. Has anyone ever talked to a news reporter about this

Same story as everyone else. We moved and called to cancel in January of 2018
We were told we still had a year on the contract and must continue it. We were not given any other options nor told to do anything else since we had told them we were canceling. Just that when it ran out it would stop. This was in 2018. Our contract expired. I have called multiple times and asked them to discontinue service today jan 8th 2021 is the first time someone told me I have to send in a physical notice of cancellation... We have even done stop payments at the bank level, Vivint just changes the price they charge bypassing the stop payment! crooked criminals in every sense of it. #1NEVER USE YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT TO PAY FOR ANYTHING. USE CREDIT CARDS OR DEBITS SO THEY CAN BE CANCELED ENDING YOUR SERVICE NIGHTMARE! worst company ever. NEVER USE AGAIN!

I am in a nightmare of a situation with Vivant and ACN the multilevel marketing co. that promises no contracts but Vivant has me in a 5 year contract and I don't even have their equipment installed. I was renting and installed it and then moved to another rental and cannot install it nor do I need it. I was told I needed to pay it all off and a now they tell me I need a 'buyout' contract (48 mo. = $2250.00). Another agent just told me that the agent I spoke to was wrong, but it has me very upset and I have called my bank to see if I can cancel the auto-payment. This is typical of businesses today coercing you in to contracts and then refusing to let you out of them 'because it's their policy' and 'didn't you read the fine print?'. Crazy business practices today...borderline criminal.

We have been dealing with Vivint for the past year and a half with no help. They say the same thing, we want you to be happy, secure, and we will keep doing our best to make you feel that way but no way will they let you out of the contract even though their equipment is at fault and so are their customer reps on the phone. It has taken a year and a half and they finally sent a tech out and they will not admit their fault. Their service is terrible, their reps lie and say things on the phone that they do not back up, they charge too much, they are dishonest and have no morals or scruples. They say they will make a note of all your conversations, complaints, grievances and they don't. We have our notes. My advice, run and never look back. Do not sign up with Vivint, a 4 to 5 year auto renewing contract. BEWARE!

I too am at this moment enjoying a horrible response from VIVINT., smart home services, I mailed a request to their office effective 12/06/2917.
they did not according to them get it until the 24th? charging me for 2 months! DEC AND JANUARY, I'll pay for the Dec. one although there was no
services rendered. but the whole of JANUARY? I requested a letter showing the cancellation request and the amount of payout for contract buyout
they sent me an EMAIL with only my first name, the money amount of the buyout and a number 15 for the amount of time left on contract, Talked to one of their managers and no matter how much I attempted to reason with him, he just kept saying uh huh and repeating this companies' policies.
I just requested a complete informational cancellation with all pertinent information in a business letter form. this note was sent via email

Apparently no one was trained to deal with the cancellation of their services?

1) Be ready with your passcode when you call vivint.
I wasn't when i called. I asked if it is in anywhere the salesman gave me or the email i got from vivint. The person on the other line said no, she emailed it to me. Later i found the passcode is written in the "welcome" brochure the salesman left me, there is a space there for passcode where he wrote it. The vivint person on the phone didn't know...
2) Also, be ready to stay on the phone for about an hour. It took me a little over 52 minutes.
3) It also helped that i had with me a copy of Notice of Cancellation i faxed them where i have embedded a captured image of the Contact.
I was asked for the email address and the phone number linked to the contract - so i saw them immediately.
Hope these pointers help you guys cancelling.

Will this advice work for me? I have moved and cannot cancel my five year Vigina contract ?
They sent a completely incompetent installation technician to my house, he ended up fleeing without even saying goodbye and left a mess of disconnected wires and disconnected my landline telephone.
