Viking Cruises review: Talk about being underwhelmed

Everyone we talked with raved about their Viking Cruises. So we booked an Alaskan ocean cruise for July 2026. Well, it was totally underwhelming and I feel like we were overcharged for a promised level of service and quality but received a McDonalds level quality instead. Our room steward team was fantastic but that’s where the super experience stopped. The excursions I paid extra for were fantastic. The Viking excursions were pretty unorganized and boring. The onboard music was stale and basically the same all the time. Buffet and room service hot food was often cold. All in all not the experience I was anticipating given what we paid for a premium experience.
