We bought insurance because my husband has (had ) Parkinsons. We are supposed to go on our cruise next month. I was able to find an extended family relative who also lost her husband recently without a beat (within a week). Viking wouldn't have been out a penny. Swift name change and passport numbers changed. But no, they made me file an insurance claim. SO then I had to purchase another ticket for my guest. They lost 2 death certs, asked for an obituary, lost the first cremation cert and kept saying they needed more info but they couldn't tell me what else. Today they said they wouldn't accept a pending death certificate. It's up to 70 more days to get that while I'm out all the other money. And it's all so unnecessary. And it's causing me to go through my husband death every time I turn around with them.
Recommendation: Viking should change the policy when their customers have these tragic issue but doesn't hurt the Viking booking one bit.
