OK so the ship is beautiful, the food incredible, the excursions well planned, the staff polite and helpful. So I am able to say some positves about the cruise but...
If you're going on a Viking cruise, don't let them plan your flights. I booked for 4 people a year before travel and paid them in full 7 months before travel. Yet they booked us on multiple cheap flights rather than a single direct flight. We traveled from Seattle over Reykjavik to Copenhagen then back to Reykjavik. Same thing home. The airport to airport time was 17+ hours rather than 7.5 for the direct flight. We didn't arrive until the end of the first day of the cruise. The travel agent also forgot to get seats. By the time I discovered this, only horrible seats were left. We couldn't sit together and I had to pay extra to get my husband a seat at all, in economy, when I had already paid for premium seats. We arrived stressed and tired, and I promptly got sick and was coughing all through the trip. On the way home I talked with a couple who had arranged their own flights with some extra time in port. Live and learn
Recommendation: Don't let Viking book your flights
