no parts or support for electronic air cleaner
Trane does not stand behind their products and will not work with their customers to make a bad situation right. I am a howmeowner in New Rochelle, NY. In October 1999, I purchased a new Trane furnace, air conditioner, and electronic air cleaner, Model # TFE245A9FRO. The EAC has a broken ionizing wire, that renders the unit totally inoperable. Trane no longer supplies the wires. Trane does supply a kit that includes the wires, but the kit costs $1450, which is $100 more than a new EAC! I called Trane to see if they would work with me to resolve this issue. Trane will not. I was told that my only two options are to purchase a new EAC, or the more expensive kit. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in Trane. When I chose them for my HVAC needs, I paid more, believeing the advertising hype that I was dealing with a top flight company that would stand by me. What a breach of trust and waste of money. I will not buy from them again, and will warn all of my friends and neighbors to avoid Trane.
fraud
I think trane sells the cheapest, most worthless pieces of crap ever. I think I would prefer to pay someone to constantly fan me than to purchase another trane air conditioning unit. So much for "nothing can stop a trane"... How about "anything can stop a trane"... Examples: thunderstorms, hot weather, cold weather, etc. I am a 24 year old female and I swear my ac/heater menstruate more than I do. I have spent $1800 on this damn thing in the past year...2 new circuit boards and a new condenser fan. Oh, and conveniently, all of these problems arose about 2 months after the 5-year warranty expired. Just perfect. If one more thing goes wrong, i'm buying a new unit... And I guarantee you the new unit will be anything but a trane.
Most air conditioning companies that do replacement installations will come out and price your options for free. Ask about brands, and do some online research. Every manufacturer makes mistakes, it's how they take care of it that should be the deciding factor in who you choose. Remember, though, who installs your equipment is just as important as the brand they put in. Ask about warranties, and make sure to ask about labor costs - most companies will only include two years or fewer on a labor warranty.
I applied for this card not know it was just a merchant card, I read the blogs about the card, and immediately calncelled the card, suprisingly the process was very smooth, (so far), they did try and get me to keep the card by offering me the world, however they were very polite and cancelled my card. Maybe this service comes after all of the bad blogs and complaints, we will see if the credit is applied and that I have no other charges appear on my acct.

inferior quality
Purchased a new Trane system through Home Depot on 2/09 to replace the original home system. The original system was reported to be a low quality, unreliable, builders special system but it never broke down over the 8-9 years. To avoid a possible disastrous break-down, the original system was replaced to alleviate any worries. After only 2-3 years, the blower motor and circuit board failed.Labor costs of about $500.00 later.Trane did not care about their inferior product failure even with a disabled family member in the home.Which product was the real inferior one ... the original system that never broke down or the new one that failed in only 2-3 years? The Trane name was heavily advertised as a quality, reliable, efficient system. The new system is as noisy as the old one, utility costs are the highest ever, and it failed already! Absolutely, do not purchase a Trane product unless you desire costly aggravation and a lack of consumer care!

I purchased top of the line TRANE system for my house in 2012---$10, 000++. In 5 years I had to replace 2 compressors and the coil. Plus, TRANE wouldn't honor their labor warranty and it cost me $4, 000 more to replace the failed parts. Stay way away from TRANE!
New home (2 years old) has three Trane Units (2TEC 3F models). One compressor failed w/in one 1yr. The air handler coil on another leaked refrigerant and had to be replaced but i had to pay $775 in labor. The A/C tech said when Trane was bought by Ingersol-Rand in 2008 they changed materials, design, and manufacturing to reduce production costs. Trane knows the coils are a liability be will replace them only if they fail under the 5 year parts warranty. My liability could amount an additional $1500! This is horrible customer service - The executives, specifically, the those responsible for total quality should be fired!
Trane - inferior product
On Oct 29, 2007, I contracted with an authorized Trane dealer and purchased an XL14 SEER, model # 4WCY4024A1000AA. On April 25, 2011 after only using the air conditioning for 2 summers, our unit no longer cooled. It blew air but no cold air. On 4-26-11, I contacted a certified Trane technician to come out and diagnose the problem. I was informed that...

Both compressors in the my four year old two stage Trane AC unit went out during 100 degree weather in Allen, Texas.
Trane did not have these very critical parts available for replacement, the story is "they are being manufactured at the factory" this is day 4 with no AC, the say the parts will "PROBABLY BE READY" on Thursday.
We'll see.
They hide their customer service numbers, had to go through the Better Business Bureau website to find it.
All I can say is, don't buy a TRANE.
sells a lemon
Our less than 4 year old $9655 Trane Ac needs a new compressor. Even though the part is covered it is still going to cost us over $890 for labor and installation. This system when it was less that 1 year old had a small leak and needed freon. I truly beleive we have a lemon. I am disappointed in the performance of this top of the line name brand.
I have bought my last trane anything
Below is a letter I sent to Trane back in '07. Another couple of years have passed and now I am really tired of this product. You can't clean the collection cells back to their original white color so how effective can they be if they are stained and dirty? Vacuuming doesn't work. Rinsing doesn't work and you can't even use mild soap like Seventh Generation or Dr. Bronners. I use a styrofoam packing peanut to clean the field charger electrodes. I want Trane to replace the collection units with clean one and show me the method to get them back to bright white each time they need cleaning like they were when new. And they should refund my money for misrepresenting a product that isn't easy to clean and carries a warning label "CAUTION SHARP EDGES THIS PART IS NOT SERVICEABLE BY THE HOME OWNER". It doesn't sense the dirt level as the original brochure stated. I have bought my last Trane anything.

sears refusing warranty
I bought a Trane Heating and Air-conditioning unit from your company in March of 2002. At that time I purchased the extra warranty.
The heating unit goes out just about every year, and every year I call Sears and every year they have gave me a hassle about the warranty. The warranty clearly states (Heat Cool and Condenser). The repairmen have come out and repaired the unit several times with no charge, but this time I was informed from the repairman if he came to my house he would have to charge me a fee. I refused the service because I refuse to pay for something that is still under warranty. I have also filed a claim with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation as the warranty directs me to do for arbitration. I tried to send the warranty so you could read it but it was too large. The word for word is:
Contract Number: [protected] Payment method: 89931 Contract expiration: 11/02/2011 Product: Heat Cool and Condenser
Model number: TUD08R9V3JI Service Location: In-Home Purchase Date: 11/02/2001. I would like for you the Sears Company to honor the warranty. I can be reached at [protected]@aol.com.
piece of crap
Purchased Trane furance w/honeywell humdifer & central AC for a 3 unit small apartment builing, one per unit in late May 2007. This is the second winter, still experiencing problems. I have already replaced sensors on 2 units. Last night on the coldest day in Chicago, we had no heat. The units are vented directly off east exterior wall, my installer says that Trane has a malfuntion, and high winds it causes a backdraft into unit thus putting out the flame. I live in the Windy city. Last night the installer had to cut off the fresh air pipe, and remove it totally off unit, says cold air caused condinsation to freeze in pipe thus plugging up the fresh air pipe. After 14 1/2 hrs heat is back on. Either I have a dummy for a installer or Trane products are a peice of crap!

nothing, but problems
I have a XB80 furnace it’s less the 5 years and and is not worked very hard here in Seattle. Now it won't turn on. The small blower starts then it flashes the led 3 times for a while then stops. The main burner never lights. After about 5 seconds it starts all over again.
I see that many people have this problem but I can't find a definitive solution.

terrible experience
Do not buy a Trane . All the ratings are bs. I am a landlord that has dealt with numerous products over the past 20 years. The Trane system I bought broke down (dumping water on electronic components) within 3 years. Go with Rheem or anybody else. I've bought virtual no name units that have lasted longer. They do not honor their manufacturers or extended warranty either. I had to pay for all new parts. They stated that the unit was not under normal use (bs) and that the specific parts were not covered by the warranty (bs). Useless.

do not purchase trane
I purchased a Trane in 09/05 in 11/07 the heat pump went out and tech came out to fix it had to order part and pay 150.00 labor charge. Now, in 06/08 air cond is not working have gone 2 wks without air sd it was the reversing valve had to order part waited 1 1/2 wk. When they came out different tech put in part and chgd 589.00 for labor because parts are covered by warranty. Guess what! Not working barely blows cold air.. DO NOT PURCAHSE A TRANE!

simply awful
This product has had to have 2 circuit boards replaced within 2 years of installation. I paid as much for the servce to do it as I would have paid for a cheap furnace from Home Depot instead of the $2000+ I overspent on this piece of junk. Trane is washing their hands of me as well as the installer. Never buy a Trane...yes I researced it before purchasing and it was rated highly by consumer reports. Boy were they wrong!

trane salesman
There is a Trane Salesman that is involved in illegal activities with regards to government(Military) employees. He has purchased them alcohol with his credit card on several occasions for purposes of getting his equipment on Dyess Air Force base. This issue is morally wrong and against the law. There are several witnesses that have overheard this withing their Civil Engineering HVAC shop and have witnessed Randy Barnett (Trane Salesman) doing this activity. This is appauling and should be dealt with before these two witnesses go to the new paper with this report. They would rather do this anonomously and without public support, but if not dealt with, they are willing to testify to this issue.

freedom is not free
Wait, what? Please try to be a bit more cogent and articulate in the description of your complaint. I have reread what you wrote, and have no idea about what you are actually alleging. Is the issue that someone bought some underage soldiers alcohol? If so...SO WHAT!?
defective trane hvac
We purchased a Trane HVAC from Home Depot(they contracted out with Advantage Air) on July 14th. It has been leaking for over 2 months and now we have water damage as well as mold. The A/C came with two defective parts. Advantage air has been out over five times and Home depot has been out twice.
We are stuck with this defective A/C and no one is taking responsibility for anything.
Home Depot told us Fri that they will take care of the water damage ONLY if we keep the defective Trane A/C from Advantage Air.
How many times does it take for a company to come out to see that the unit is broken. Just goes to show you ...once you start having problems..no one is there for you .
When you want to go higher up with the big companies...they will not give out the "real bosses" numbers. HELP

I agree . . . never again on Trane and no referrals to clients. I too have had bad luck with Trane. Have been a homeowner for 45 years and never had more than $100 - 150 repair bill on a furnace and never had to replace a furnace. In 2004 I needed a new AC and decided that since my functioning furnace was 20 years old that I would replace it too, more for safety reasons than anything, and possible for efficiency. So now, 5.5 years after the new furnace was installed the circuit board goes bad and my bill, including the service call will be $578. I think that it is deplorable that an expensive piece of equipment lasts only 5 years. Now they are telling me that the new board is only warranted for 1 year and that until the new board is in, they can't tell for sure that the board is the only problem. I will be replacing another AC unit and furnace in my home in the near future and guess what? You can be sure it WILL NOT be a Trane! Since I currently have unlimited server space and a .com only costs nine dollars I am considering my own web site against Trane products.
fraud
Trane Company at the Lexington Ky plant has a bad record of deceiving people. I came to work on April the 28th of 2007 for overtime and before I go on have had a good working and ethical record history with them for 11 years. On that day, starting around 6:30 am that morning and also have worked to 10:30 pm the night before was encountered by another employee who had words with me on being in his work area. I made a comment that I was temporarily in work area and going to move on and told him to shut up or else.
A bystander by the name of Jeff Bond, said I was going to place a devise in workplace and he called 911 without me knowing about it at the time. Two or three hours later Don Black the general manager called me to the office and he and Kevin Thompson interrogated me on stating what they heard I said. Don Black a deceiver told me they had two or three witnesses on what I said.
They took me to main office and never told me anything, but had let dispatched police in to also interrogate me. I admitted to them mentioning a devise, but they( Sgt Varney) put in police report that I had placed a devise in the plant. Varney also made me and put words in my mouth and charged me with a 2nd degree felony. The police never got charge fully their way, the charge ended up being prosecuted as 3rd degree misdemeanor. Overall this Don Black is a deceiver and so is Kevin Thompson. Jeff Bond rats on his union brothers and I hope all see this letter. Also Sgt Varney with the Lexington Ky police department # 22512 is a shrewd little deciever punk who arrested me. By the way, this company will have to pay me my pension when all is due. But I would not care to draw it if I could see this company go out of business.
To all you out there, I will never buy another product from Trane. This company has had a bad reputation of letting a lot of people go. They seem to keep the perverts like John Sampson who looks at porn sites on company property. That day would have been different if I pleaded the 5th and called in my lawyer. I learned one thing never trust or call on your union, they are powerless. as in my statements above an attorney is the answer. Old Dick Karcher another deceiver would have had a different outlook.
By the way Varney never read me the Miranda rights till after he interrogated me. They could get in trouble for this.

First the motor failed making the uit inoperable for two days. When the condenser needed replaced, we waited 8 weeks for repairs. We have had many weeks of no service. The leakage caused damage to subfloor that will need to be replaced.
I received an email from Customer Service regarding order number: US-[protected]. They did not provide an customer service phone number to contact them about regarding a credit car payment. They want me to update the payment method.

This unit has had 3 repairs in 3 years and has not worked all year. All we get is excuses about not getting parts. I want a new unit at trane's expense.
We bought a A/C on 5/19 and have have 5 parts replaced and it still dont work and cant get a new one even though it was wired wrong at the factory. Do not buy a trane
Unit was installed less than five years ago. This winter I had to replace a defrost board now I have to replace an expansion valve for AC. My previous Rheem builder quality units lasted 10 years without issue.
