Trying to purchase tickets to Oliva Rodrigo playing in the DC Area and tickets selling out before I can buy them on the Thursday 5/7/26 General Sale Day and trying to buy tickets on the Tuesday 5/5/2026 AMEX Pre-Sale day and receiving error messages "Check to make sure you are signed into your account. Or your data bandwidth maybe limited. " This is outrageous to have to pay an extra $400 on top of the sale price which is $86.00 plus service fees. Now I'm looking at $700 starting out going as high as $3,500 a ticket. Ticket Master has already been caught in bed with Stub Hub and more needs to be done. I for one will do this as my daughter has wanted to see this artist ever since her debut album. I tried to get tickets to the Anthem in DC for Olivia's first time to DC and it sold out and scalped tickets were going for $400. That's triple the face value. Her second tour her tickets started at $700 and were sold out. If enjoying the artist has devolved to this, I would rather go to a local event, but this is not helping my daughter see her hero / dream artist. Four tickets to this event at the Capital One Area will cost as much as going to an Ocean side resort for a week. The artist makes out, Capital One Arena makes out, and Ticket Master and the Scalper makes out. My kid gets 2 hours of show time compared to a week at the beach. How is this fair. Go back to tickets and standing in line or you the Trade Commission show establish laws on resale items for tickets. Since the tickets are web-based they buyer can be tracked and if they resell, then they can't but again for six months. If they get caught using another email they are banded for one year. I don't know but this is crap. Please do something about this.
Claimed loss: No seats available when allowed to buy, or error messages when allowed to buy. This is deceptive practices.
Desired outcome: I want to be able to purchase a ticket at face value and not have to use a scalper which used to be illegal back in the 80's and wonder how changed the law. How come these resellers aren't going to jail?
