The Puppy Store

I bought a puppy from The Puppy Store on 6/9. My puppy was really sick from the first week I had her. She had seizures, luxating patellas, and in December , she got diagnosed with Cerebellar Degeneration. She died on 12/26. She couldn't walk, eat, or drink anymore (I had to feed her by hand), and she couldn't go potty. I checked her puppy papers in the first week I got her and found out where she came from. Turns out, she came from a puppy mill in Minnesota called ***. There's a You Tube video about that puppy mill getting shut down by another business name, then reopening under ***. The Puppy Store has signs everywhere saying they don't buy from puppy mills, but that's not true. It didn't take much searching for me to find out that my puppy did come from a puppy mill, especially because she had sooo many genetic problems. Please help me make The Puppy Store stop false advertising. I want them to shut down, but that's never gonna happen.

We bought a puppy on October 14, 2022, a Saturday, for $2600. We paid $400 as a hold fee and $2400 for the puppy's final pick up, which included a "puppy package" with a medium crate. When we went to get the puppy at the Saratoga Springs store (which is closed now), they told us that the crates were not there but would arrive the following Wednesday. We went to the store again, and they said the crate was still not there but would come the next Wednesday. We called, but the crates were still not there. For more than 3 months, they kept telling us different things - that they would buy a crate from Amazon, that the staff would go to a local pet supply company to get a crate, or that the crates would be delivered on a specific day. Finally, on January 18, 2023, I talked to Rayne at the West Jordan Puppy Store because the Saratoga Springs store was closed. Rayne said her management approved someone to bring a crate to the closed store at 2:30PM on 1/23/23. We waited in front of the closed store for 20 minutes, but the delivery didn't happen. Since the call on 1/18/23, Rayne has been unavailable, and I can't get a call back. I also asked to speak with the district manager, but I haven't received any communication. It's now 1/26/23, and we still haven't received what we paid for. We've been lied to for over 3 months.

DO NOT PURCHASE a dog here...no matter how cute it is! I also fell for those beady eyes and the sweet puppy breath and found the dog of my dreams. Unfortunately, within 36 hours I took her to 5 veterinarians, including a 6 hour visit to the veterinary school at Texas A&M...only to find out that the dog was younger than the store claimed, had intestinal parasites (2 kinds), a congenital kidney defect and was in renal failure. The dog was literally passing away in front of my eyes. She never walked, ate or drank from the moment I took her home. A veterinary specialist who had been in practice for 25 years informed me that the dog was in the process of dying and would not live, so I made the difficult decision to euthanize her and help her get to heaven without suffering. It was a devastational experience for me. Thousands of dollars later, I am heartbroken and dog-less. The management refuses to answer questions and claims their dogs are not from mills. They ARE. BELIEVE IT. These animals are not healthy, no matter how they look in the store. In the end, their guarantee is crap, though they claim that they will offer you another dog and will never give money back. They even accused me of "making up the story" and said that they "may or may not" give me another dog. Who wants ANOTHER dog from a bad experience. Regardless of how many "healthy" dogs they claim to sell, they truly owe some compassion to those who do have a tragic loss. I didn't spend thousands of dollars and days off work to be accused of lying and told that my guarantee was invalid because I euthanized a dog who was already dying in front of my eyes. Seeing a puppy slither like a snake because it could not eat or drink and had health issues is tragic. Who wants to watch a creature die?! A life is not a returnable commodity! You guys at The Puppy Store have it all wrong!? I hope this store gets shut down ASAP!

p.s. Their guarantee said to call them if your dog has troubles, so I did. It happened after hours. They have no answering service for you to leave a message on! And they claim that they call to "check in on all dogs purchased" within the first two days. I got zero calls. Coincidence that they don't hold their end of the bargain? I think not - they know what poor business they are in and propbably have their employees fooled too!

College age son bought 9 week old German Shephard puppy from The Puppy Store in College Station, Tx. 2 weeks later the puppy is dead; after emergency surgery to relieve fluid from lungs. Necropsy is being performed with the blessing of the veterinarian; due to problems with puppies from this store. Our child is heartbroken and we are $1, 200.00 poorer
