Tempur-Pedic North America Temperpedic base motor

I called customer service because
the motor to my headboard was not working. An agent returned my call on 12/18/19, but unfortunately I was flying home for Christmas that day and could not take the call. I returned the call on 12/19/19 and left a voice mail addressing it to Heather K. No return call. I again called on 1/7, 1/8, and 1/10/20 without receiving a returned call.
Their recording when you call says they value your time and rather than have you hold, you should leave your name, number, and a brief message as to why you are calling and they will call you back. Doesn't say when they will call you back—maybe next year?
A lot of people purchase their beds because of the name, but when you have a problem, you cannot get any help. I have definitely let my friends know how I have been treated so that if they were thinking of purchasing a TemperPedic that they may want to purchase a different brand. Their Customer Service is the WORST!

Tempur-Pedic North America Cloud breeze deluxe

Do not buy tempur-pedic! I spent $5, 700 on a cloud breeze luxe mattress and box spring (which is now discontinued). It was firm for about a year, then I started having lower back pain. I've been going to a chiropracter ever since. I've never had back pain before I purchased this mattress.

I called tempurpedic in may of 2019 to report the loss of firm support and back pain - and was advised to turn the mattress. I did so immediately and the bed felt much better and my back pain went away. However, this only lasted through mid-july 2019 and its been losing firmness ever since.

Now, my back pain is right back to where it was before. The memory foam must be defective and is not supporting my back properly. The reason I bought the bed originally was for firm support.

"the 10 year warranty" - a joke

After submitting the warranty claim form; spending (2) hours taking photos; and speaking on the phone with their representatives, I am thoroughly dissatisfied with the response i've received from tempur-pedic.

In my conversations with customer service, they tried shifting the blame to the retailer, but this is poor strategy considering the fact that the mattress is defective.

I spoke to their executive director of customer service who was of no assistance whatsoever. I tried presenting every possible alternative to remedy this matter. However, she stated that the warranty does not cover defects regarding loss of support or deterioration of firmness within the mattress. She emphasized that tempur-pedic bears no responsibility for such a defect. Interestingly, the company discontinued this model and replaced it with an "updated" version featuring "soft" and "firm." they must have received thousands of compalints to make such changes to a mattress design that was only made from 2016 - 2018.
Additionally, she would not offer any options to settle this matter amicably. I tried explaining that defective products are outside the bounds of a warranty, and if necessary, the federal trade commission can order a national recall. With this particular mattress, I believe such action is warranted.

Tempur-pedic should be ashamed of how it treats its customers.

Tempur-Pedic North America Tempur-pedic king mattress

I spent almost $6000 on this grand sale they were having a sleep oasis. I got the bed July 2017 and I have had nothing but problems since I got it it's very soft and it's supposed to be firm. My wife moved to the other bedroom after one or two days of sleeping right she couldn't take a right and calling ever since trying to get them to replace it I was told to contact Tempur-pedic which is a joke because I've sent them numerous pictures and numerous phone calls they never get back with me or they say they need more photos. Do you want me to take a photo with a piece of wood across it with a quarter how my supposed to do that when I sit on the bed and then get up and it slowly morphed back to its position. I was asking if a person can come out and take a look at this bed from the company they said no you have to send pictures which I have and to no avail. So now I'm going to go file next week and just have to take them to court letter judge decide. I've sent them all the paperwork everything and this is ridiculous to spend this much on a mattress and have it last night even a year. When I forgot to mention when I received it I noticed a couple weeks later they're both ends of the boxspring were bent like they were run over by a car. And the company did nothing about that either. They sure can take your money really quickly.

Tempur-Pedic North America Mattress/warranty/customer service

We got approved by the warranty department. They want to charge us $175 delivery fee, if we buy something more expensive can't finance it unless it's over $1000 & if we find something cheaper they will not adjust our credit! They will exchange the same mattress, but you have to pay the $175 shipping & delivery. This mattress is only 10 months old & not sure we want to stick with same mattress. What a shame Tempur-Pedic stands behinds the product? Really? Terrible customer service & they just want your money. They don't care that you have invested thousands of dollars. So disappointed!

Tempur-Pedic North America Customer service/shipping lies and delays

Was told upon ordering a bed set that it would arrive in a week or two. Mattresses for the split king arrived within two weeks, but I never heard about the bases. I emailed, was given a carrier and tracking number... Which turned out to be wrong! After several phone calls and emails, I have now been told tempurpedic still has the bases and they are "being prepared for shipment." this is over 3 weeks after ordering! I use a wheelchair and don't have time for such simple yet far reaching unprofessionalism.
Will never work with this company again

At this point I would rather send everything back and find another bed. If you can get the base to me by saturday, I will accept it. Otherwise you are very lucky you don't have a storefront, as I would love to toss my partial order through your front window.

Tempur-Pedic North America Mattress topper and pillow

I purchased the mattress topper and a pillow. When I received the order the first thing I noticed was the terrible smell. After smelling it I laid down on the topper and realized it was hard as a rock! After a week of back pain I couldn't take it any longer. I tried to return it and they battled me saying I couldn't. One representative told me her pillow was hard when she got it too but after about 30 days it was better (I'm guessing her neck adjusted to the pain). It took several phone calls to establish returning the topper and pillow and each call was as frustrating as the next. Each representative struggled with their "systems" and I was on hold most of the time wondering when the aggravation would be over. I was finally told I needed to return the pillow and should have received a return label (that never happened) and that the service set to call me to pick up the topper attempted to call me weeks prior (that never happened either). I would strongly recommend that you do not purchase from tempurpedic-save yourself the money and aggravation.

Tempur-Pedic North America Tempur grand

My husband and I purchased a Grand from Tempur in 2009 for about $11000 with the bases. It was a glorious bed for about four years. At the end of the fourth year however, we contacted Tempur because the bed was so soft and saggy. We submitted pictures and our invoices as well as the registration information that they already had on file and it took them about six weeks to replace the mattress. We immediately noticed that the new mattress had problems as the men who arrived with their "white glove" service, had snapped all the threading on the top of the mattress by folding it in half to get it up the stairs into our home. That one was replaced immediately. Move forward to today. For the last three months or so, I have been washing and washing our bedding and deodorizing our house and our room in particular as there was a lingering, musty, old oil type smell. When I finally removed the protective pad from our bed, I found a strange yellowish color leaching through the mattress everywhere that the layers were sewn or glued together. That was where the fun just began. When I phoned Tempur I was informed that the company I had to go through was Tempur Canada since the company was now two branches. I was then also informed that the Canada side of the company had changed over their data system in 2014 and they had no warranty or registration information anymore. Further to that, they informed me that Tempur Canada was not carrying the "Grand" anymore as it was not selling well in Canada and they had made the decision to discontinue it. I questioned how it was possible for a company to sell a bed with a 25 year warranty and then basically tell a consumer to get stuffed because they didn't carry it anymore. Here we are six weeks of pictures, emails and phone calls later and on February 1st, I received an email saying that Tempur US had decided to replace my mattress and protector. When I didn't hear anything further from the company, I phoned yet again. I have now received an email saying that they are reneging on the replacement and they want an inspector to come to my house. I am soooooooo done with this company! I sleep in a bed that stinks, is changing color and is completely unsporting from a company that refuses to honour its warranty. Save your money and effort and find a company with integrity!

I must say we purchased our Grand bed in 2005 and it it still going strong with not a single problem as reported by these reviews. We have no sags...no odors and this makes me wonder if they changed the way they are making them, to gain a larger profit. WE don't have that same pattern of seams. Our mattress is a much light color. We have moved it twice without incident and are now getting ready to place it on an adjustable base. we did have a breakdown of the foam in the pillows and i attributed this to a lot of bending and positioning of that memory foam. It is sad to hear others are so dissatisfied with the newer version of this mattress as ours has been nothing short of incredible and has stood the test of time like a champion.

Tempur-Pedic North America Wrong size and I can't return it

I bought a mattress from www.tempurpedic.com company and when I received it I was not satisfied with my purchase. Size of my mattress was incorrect and it was two times smaller than the one I paid for.
I contacted Tempurpedic and asked for a replacement and they agreed to give me another mattress, but they said that I have to keep the mattress for 30 days and only after that they'll be able to accept it back. What? Usually company gives you 30 days to return the purchase, but these guys asked me to keep the mattress. I don't trust them, something strange is going on. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Tempur-Pedic North America Contour pillow

I purchased this pillow in May, 2016. Several days later, I decided not to keep it because of the smell. I contacted customer service and they emailed me a return UPS label. The pillow was received by Tempurpedic in May, 2016 as evidenced by my tracking the UPS #. When I received no credit card refund to my credit card by June, 2016, I telephoned customer service. FOUR TIMES. LEFT MESSAGES. SENT EMAILS. NO RESPONSE WHATSOEVER FROM TEMPURPEDIC. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the $138.03 that was owed to me. My credit card never received a response from Tempur-pedic so they issued me a credit for $138.03. Today, August 24, 2016, I received a demand letter from a CREDIT BUREAU stating that I owe Tempurpedic $138.03. I called Tempurpedic once again and left 2 messages. No one has called me back (surprise, surprise). This is a pathetic situation because my credit will now be ruined by the most incompetent, stupid, disorganized, disgusting company I have EVER dealt with.

Tempur-Pedic North America The odor

Six weeks ago my husband and I spent over $7, 000 for the best mattress that was recommended to us for our back problems from our accident.
The mattress was wonderful as far as comfort but the odor is horrendous.
For three weeks I developed sore throat, nausea, sinus problems, headaches,
and other symptoms. I sent it back when I realized the odor was from the chemicals and ordered just a spring mattress since the odors were from memory foam. I was assured the new mattress had no memory foam.
It arrived today and the odor is horrible. It is a Stearns and Foster and I called the company and it does have memory foam.
So what is the best mattress as far as comfort and no horrible odors?

We are experiencing the same problems at our house with a new tempurpedic mattress. We purchased at Sleepy's who does not honor the tempurpedic warranty nor does tempurpedic honor the purchase from sleepy's. I sincerely hope we are not stuck with this mattress.
I did some research and found that mattresses made with organic foams, cotton covers with wool padding are the only mattresses that do not off gas. We purchased a Savvy Rest but there are other companies out there that have organic foams. Look for the words "Talalay" and "Dunlop" in the description of the mattresses.

Tempur-Pedic North America Product not same as tried in store

Tried a Tempurpedic Cloud Elite in the store and found it very comfortable. Ordered directly from the company and it was not the same firmness as the one tried in the store. I sank almost 5 inches unlike the one in the store. Called Tempurpedic and they said that sometimes the feel in the store is not the same as in your home. They said there was nothing they could do about it. I feel that I should have been told this at the time of purchase and feel deceived.

Tempur-Pedic North America So disappointed in the pain I feel daily because of the bed

My husband and I bought a Tempur Pedic mattress from a well known retailer in Indianapolis in the spring of 2014. We had slept on a Sleep Number mattress for the last 9 years, and it was time for something new. He was eager to try something new so I agreed. We laid on it in the store and it was the most comfortable bed I had slept on. Once we got it home, I was comfortable for about three days. My entire body started to hurt, including my lower back. It took me 2 months to get used to the bed, without my back seizing up once I laid down. I have had nothing but back problems since. My chiropractor has noticed a difference in my body since sleeping on this mattress. Both my husband and I are miserable and are willing to take a 2500 dollar hit (what we paid for the bed) to invest into a sleep number bed. When I sit on the side of the bed to put on my shoes, I slide off because it slopes on so much. I am so disappointed in the pain I feel daily because of the bed. I don't have a claim since we were right at the 90 days when we decided to return the bed. Unfortunately, we listened to the sales rep and kept trying it. If I wanted my bed replaced, I'd move further but I don't ever want to sleep on a Tempur Pedic another day in my life! Save your money and move onto something better!

Tempur-Pedic North America Refused to refund money paid after 3 days of payment and the product was not even delivered

hi I paid for a mattress last friday evening at a dreams store on part finance. the total cost of the mattress and 2 pillows came to £2223.00 (mattress - £2129.00 and pillows £80.74). I paid a deposit of £446.00 on my card and the balance of £1777.00 was on 0% finance.
But on Sunday I found the same mattress at at outlet store for £1345.00.
due to the big price variable (£784.00) I called dreams to cancel the order as i had not received the delivery which was scheduled for the following weekend..
They said they might try and price match the order which i was fine with but they refused to do so when i told them that it was an outlet store.
Now they are saying they cant refund my amount or cancel my order as it is written in a contract that this cannot be cancelled.
I never received any information on such a clause when i was sold the matteress!
I dont even have a copy of this contract. When i asked them to give to me in writing that they cannot cancel the contract they refused and said they could now give me a copy of contract which states that!
when i paid for the bed i only received a finance contract which is retractable within 14 days and a pre-order confirmation slip! and Nowhere in any document given to me at the point of purchase did it state that this was a non cancel-able contract!

I call this daylight robbery and cheating customers! When I asked to be transferred to a manager or supervisor the the lady - Asma was unavailable at that moment and said she would return my call but the answer would still be the same anyways!

This is has turned out to be more of a nightmare than a dream!

Tempur-Pedic North America Ridiculous and unbelievable way of handling damaged product sold and member's complaints

Ridiculous and Unbelievable Way of Handling Damaged Product Sold and Member’s Complaints

I bought a set of Sealy mattress from Costco on line. The mattress set was delivered to my home on 10/26/2012, with a damaged box spring. I contacted Costco several times and eventually Chelsea B., Costco.com Furniture Resolution Specialist, said it would send a brand new box spring for the replacement in 2-4 weeks on 11/12/2012.

But to my surprise, the replacement box spring came on 11/16, just 4 days after Chelsea said it would take 2-4 weeks for Sealy to manufacture a new box spring for the replacement. The followings were what I found about the “new” replacement box spring after it was delivered:

1. One end of the plastic bag of the box spring was already broken, and was taped some places to cover up; (The box spring was dragged into my home with the broken end facing down to the ground and you had no way to see it without turning it up.

2. The box spring was dirty, wet and molded;

3. There was a big cut in the back area of the box spring.

4. A label on the plastic bag of the box spring with a purchase order number on it. But the PO number did not belong to me.

5. The original purchaser's name, address and phone number on the label were blackened with a marker, but still could be read through.

6. My name was hand written on the plastic bag to make it look like was for my order.

The condition of the box spring was nasty, filthy, hazardous and harmful to health. It was 100 times worse than the original damaged one I had.

I wanted to find out what happened and called the number on the blackened label on the bag and spoke to the original purchaser of the box spring. She told me she had purchased a set of mattress from Costco in October. But it had been flooded and damaged during the hit of Super Storm Sandy before it was delivered to her. And she would guess that the damaged box spring delivered to me could be the flooded one from her original order. (Both she and I live in the hard-hit area of Super Storm Sandy in the east coast.)

Obviously and ridiculously, Costco had delivered a piece of nasty, filthy, hazardous trash, which supposedly to be a brand new box spring for replacement, to my home.

I contacted Chelsea, the Costco.com Furniture Resolution Specialist, on that day and wanted an explanation form Costco, but did not get one, except for saying that a wrong box was loaded.

I e-mailed back to Chelsea and stated that the answer was not sincere because the delivery of the nasty, filthy and hazardous box spring was knowingly, purposely and recklessly. And I explained to her in the following ways:

It was knowingly because the party responsible knew that the box spring was not for me. He noticed the original purchaser’s name on the label, so he had used a black marker to cross out the original information.

It was purposely because he also had crossed out the hand written original purchaser's name on the plastic bag and put my name on it, therefore it made that box spring look like was for my order.

It was recklessly because both New York and New Jersey governments had ordered people to dispose all the furniture flooded and damaged during the Super Storm Sandy to prevent from spreading diseases. This flooded and molded box spring should have been in a dumpster, not delivered to MY HOME.

This delivery could never be a mistake unless dumpsters were used to hold Costco’s inventory products, and this piece of trash was pulled out directly from a pile of junks, loaded and “mistakenly” delivered to my home.

I told Chelsea what had happened was ridiculous and totally unacceptable. I wanted to find out why I was treated like this by Costco. But I did not get an explanation, either.

I asked Costco to give me solutions to the damages Costco had brought to me, but I did not get one.

Then I raised a question to myself whether someone wanted to shift its loss and damages to its customers and members even at the risk of people’s health. And I wish my question were wrong.

Tempur-Pedic North America Sale scam

This is a report about our purchase of a Tempurpedic Mattress at Teletron, located at 10796 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, TX 77072, [protected], for the amount of 8, 117.67 charge on September 17, 2012.

Teletron claims that it is the Elite Dealer for Tempur-Pedic manufacturer and advertise on TV as well as on youtube about the 90 day free-trial (see www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD29zw84K2g). This 90 days free trial has been offered from the Tempur-Pedic manufacture and it is documented from official Tempur-pedic website (www.Tempur-pedic.com) as well as a quote we receive from their sale representative.

Since my mother does not speak English well she prefers to purchase the Tempur-pedic mattress (queen-size Grand Bed style) at the local Vietnamse store, Teletron. The saleman, Hoang Huynh, whose name is printed on the Sale Order, promised my mother that the mattress would certainly help with her back pain. In addition, because Teletron ads states that she can have 90 days trial and can return if she is not satisfy with it, my mother decided to get brand new Grand Bed mattress at full price. I used my credit card to pay for her and the mattress was delivered to her house on the same day.

After sleeping on the mattress for 6 days, my mother was not satisfy with it and she wanted to return it to Teletron. She called the Mr. Hoang Huynh (saleman), but he did not want to come and pick up the mattress. I called the store and spoke to the store manager (Phillip) and he told me that Teletron would not accept the mattress back. Phillip said that the store general policy is shown on the back of the sale order, which handed to us in the envelop when we paid. I explained that Teletron should honor what it had been advertised on TV and youtube regarding the 90 day trial, as Tempur-pedic manufacturer also has the same policy online. If Teletron is one the Elite dealers, then Teletron should be able to pick up the mattress and return it to the manufacturer. Surprisingly, Phillip disagreed, became angry, and directed me to contact Tempur-pedic manufacturer for further service. In an attempt to document that we wanted to return the mattress on this date, September 22, 2012, I had faxed the written request to Teletron.

After further investigation about Teletron, I found out that its name is not currently listed on the Tempur-pedic official website as one their elite dealers. Accordingly I suspected that Teletron is a scam, and therefore I called the credit card right away to dispute the charge.

Tempur-Pedic North America Health issues

I started sleeping on a Tempurpedic “Memory Foam” mattress in 2001. Within a short period of time I developed a cough that woke me in the middle of the night sometime between 1:30 and 3:00 AM. I would cough uncontrollably for 20-40 minutes to the point of choking from excessive mucus.
For almost an entire ten year period in which I slept on a Tempurdedic memory foam mattress I experienced difficulties breathing, coughing, throat and sinus irritations, night sweats, etc throughout the night. Sixteen months ago I was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). I spent nearly a decade attempting to figure out what was making me sick. After discussing my condition with two doctors, they both came up with the same explanation-- I was suffering from an allergy and or an environmental irritant.

During a visit to the doctor’s office in February 2011 the doctor asked me a question. He asked me - When I am away from home on vacation or business do I cough? I answered no, just when I am at home. He responded by saying that meant the problem originated with something in my home environment. I continued to search for the cause of the cough, breathing difficulties, night sweats, etc.

A fortuitous event occurred when I applied for and was granted a second warranty exchange on my Tempurpedic memory foam mattress. (The original mattress purchased in May 2001 was defective and I received a prior replacement.) The 2nd new replacement mattress arrived on Friday, February 24, 2012. By Monday morning, February 27 my condition had worsened dramatically and I couldn’t walk into my bedroom. The smell coming from the mattress burned my eyes and it was extremely difficult to breathe while standing in the bedroom.
(My husband also slept with me on the same Tempurpedic memory foam mattresses and he experienced night sweats and suffered from high blood pressure.)

Finally, after
nearly 10 years I realized my cough, night sweats and breathing problems had to do with the mattress. I immediately removed the mattress from my bedroom into a spare bedroom and closed the door. It is almost four months since the mattress was moved to the spare bedroom and even with the windows open the strong smell in the bedroom permeates the room and prevents me from going inside for more than just a few minutes. When visitors come and I open the door the first thing anyone notices is the smell.

Within two days of not sleeping on the new Tempurpedic memory foam mattress, the majority of my problems improved significantly. Unknown to me for almost a full decade, I’ve been sleeping on bed that I believe has made me sick. One might wonder how come it took me so long to figure out the cause of my problems. The best explanation I can give is that I trusted that there are consumer product safety laws that protect me. It never occurred to me that the US Consumer Product and Safety Commission hadn’t thoroughly vetted any potential problems with the Tempurpedic memory foam material prior to its use by the American public. I assumed the bed I slept on would be safe, especially since people generally spend a third of their existence in bed. Surely our government made certain that the beds we sleep on are safe. I never gave it a moment’s thought that the bed I sleep on had the potential to make me sick. One need only stand in the room with the Tempurpedic Memory Foam Mattress a few seconds to experience the unpleasant nasty stench. It has a slight resemblance to the smell in our high school chemisty lab when we dissected a frog.
After it became obvious in February 2012 that the mattress was emitting nasty smells, I decided to go on line and research the Tempurpedic memory foam mattress. I learned that my problem was not unique. This problem has apparently been known for many years. Had I checked on line sooner, I would have found plenty of information and complaints shared by many others with similar problems.

“The Tempurpedic was not really "endorsed" by NASA, but we were informed that it was researched by NASA but rejected for use in the space industry because of chemical volatility issues.”

I just bought a mattress a few weeks ago and I noticed that maybe after two weeks I started to develop symptoms of POTS. I woke up in the middle of the night with palpitations. I even went to the ER, but they didn’t find anything wrong. I chalked it up to anxiety but I noticed that when I slept on another mattress for three nights straight, I was fine.

Same here. Just last night, I came to bed and within 5 minutes my nose was totally stuffed up. Told my wife that I was heading for the couch, where I knew that I could get a good night's sleep. Sinuses were back open in 10 minutes. Woke up feeling refreshed, without having to cough up the usual junk. Our Tempurpedic has to go. After a decade of crummy sleep, I've had enough.

I had the same experience. I suffer from gerd and acid reflux and had been feeling great after making some lifestyle changes the doctor recommended, when we bought the Tempurpedic mattress. I immediately started have a build up of phlegm in my throat and my condition started to get worse. I thought that it started when I started sleeping on the mattress, but like everyone thought that was ridiculous that my condition was probably just getting worse. Luckily I went out of town for a couple of nights to visit family just after we bought the mattress and slept on a different mattress and I had no issues those nights. I knew right then that it was the mattress. We returned it immediately and bought a regular mattress. I refused to sleep on it any more and my issues have gone away. So, please, if you have health issues when purchasing this mattress, do not think it is all in your head. Go with your gut, it is the mattress. I will never be purchasing one again and will let others know of the issues I had with it. This has to be a major issue with others, my symptoms were immediate. I hope others get these warnings. I am so thankful I discovered it early. Truly blessed.

Tempur-Pedic North America Denial of credit

I went online to order a new mattress from Tempur Pedic. They provide financing through Wells Fargo. I was surprisingly turned down and called Tempur to find out what my options were. They gave me the number to Wells Fargo and I spoke with a representative at Wells Fargo who told me I was turned down because I had other accounts with available credit. HUH ! I am Like what does that mean? Seriously, so I am either suppose to close my other credit accounts, use them up to the maximum and then Wells Fargo will approve me for the loan on my mattress? This makes no sense at all. Wells Fargo is the only financier that offers the interest free account with Tempur Pedic and now they are closing the doors and me. I have had a Wells Fargo account in the past and believed that they were an upstanding fair company but now any time i need credit and Wells Fargo is the bank providing the financing I will decline it myself. That's It no more with Wells Fargo...

In November of 2007 I went to sleepys to purchase a pillowtop bed. The salesmen were hounding me hard, especially after I informed them that I had very bad back problems.They talked me into purchasing a tempur-pedic.I paid over 5, 000 dollars including delivery. Please tell me why they claim this is such a good mattress when I havent had a good nights sleep since I purchased it, And know it has split. Someone please help this mattress is supposed to have a twenty year warranty.but I cant get no satisfaction.

Bought a memory foam tempur pedic mattress about 2 years ago. My husband started to experience dry throat every night. I complained to the manufacturer & they said the best they could do was exchange it for another similar mattress. What good is that?
Now, about 1 1/2 years ago, I started experiencing severe allergies & asthma, which we are relating to the mattress also.
Went online & saw many complaints from people about getting sick due to this mattress. It releases tons of chemicals, including petroleum, and we are breathing that in.
We've decided to sleep in another room for now.
I know the company has gotten away with not helping people out when they have these severe reactions.
Anyone interested in doing a class action suit? I thing there are enough of us out there.

I am very happy I read your complaint, I experienced alot of itching after reciving my bed also.I had no idea thjs could come from a suppose to be new mattress, I donot sleep on the bed without blankets on top of it.because up to this day I am still itching, I also wrote a complaint please read it.Thanks,

Tempur-Pedic North America Lousy mattress

We bought a Tempur-pedic cloud. It felt like we were sleeping on the pavement|. We went round and round with Mattress World in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and finally after 4 months, just threw the mattress out|. We could no longer stand to not sleep

They told us to "jump around on the mattress" to break it in.. They told us maybe our room was too cold|. (It was 70 degrees Farenheit);. There was one small strip about 4 inches in from the edge that felt like the bed in the showroom, but no one would come out and look at it'.

There is NO WARRANTY?. Don't believe the TV ads.

Tempur-Pedic North America Bad experience

I needed a new mattress after a recent hospitalization and was excited to try a Temper-pedic mattress. Wow, was that ever a huge disappointment! The entire experience left me frustrated and sore!

My husband selected one of their best mattresses, and from the moment we first tried to sleep on it we were horribly uncomfortable! With all their advertisements featuring accounts from satisfied customers, I was sure it be the best night's sleep I'd ever had. No way! Sleeping on a slab of bare concrete would've been better!

Words cannot express the depths of our disappointment! It was the most uncomfortable, unyielding and hard mattress I've ever laid on in my life. My husband contacted them in order to arrange for its return, only to have to spend several long, argumentative phone calls with the company in order to get them to agree to pick it up and refund our money. Eventually, after being promised return phone calls that never came and having to pursue them with phone calls of complaint, they told us that we hadn't "broken it in" as we'd been instructed to do when we purchased it.

No, we were NEVER told that we had to "break in" the mattress by walking on it for a half an hour every night before bed! We would not have agreed to such a condition of sale! My balance is very bad and I couldn't even begin to accomplish such a physical feat as that!

After much effort, we finally got them to pick up the mattress and refund our money. I've never before heard of a mattress that had to be walked on in order to break it in! These are expensive mattresses and really should come already broken-in or clearly warn the consumer of that ridiculous requirement before purchase!

I started sleeping on a Tempurpedic “Memory Foam” mattress in 2001. Within a short period of time I developed a cough that woke me in the middle of the night sometime between 1:30 and 3:00 AM. I would cough uncontrollably for 20-40 minutes to the point of choking from excessive mucus.

For almost an entire ten year period in which I slept on a Tempurdedic memory foam mattress I experienced difficulties breathing, coughing, throat and sinus irritations, night sweats, etc throughout the night. Sixteen months ago I was diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). I spent nearly a decade attempting to figure out what was making me sick. After discussing my condition with two doctors, they both came up with the same explanation-- I was suffering from an allergy and or an environmental irritant.

During a visit to the doctor’s office in February 2011 the doctor asked me a question. He asked me - When I am away from home on vacation or business do I cough? I answered no, just when I am at home. He responded by saying that meant the problem originated with something in my home environment. I continued to search for the cause of the cough, breathing difficulties, night sweats, etc.

A fortuitous event occurred when I applied for and was granted a second warranty exchange on my Tempurpedic memory foam mattress. (The original mattress purchased in May 2001 was defective and I received a prior replacement.) The 2nd new replacement mattress arrived on Friday, February 24, 2012. By Monday morning, February 27 my condition had worsened dramatically and I couldn’t walk into my bedroom. The smell coming from the mattress burned my eyes and it was extremely difficult to breathe while standing in the bedroom.

(My husband also slept with me on the same Tempurpedic memory foam mattresses and he experienced night sweats and suffered from high blood pressure.)

Finally, after nearly 10 years I realized my cough, night sweats and breathing problems had to do with the mattress. I immediately removed the mattress from my bedroom into a spare bedroom and closed the door. It is almost four months since the mattress was moved to the spare bedroom and even with the windows open the strong smell in the bedroom permeates the room and prevents me from going inside for more than just a few minutes. When visitors come and I open the door the first thing anyone notices is the smell.

Within two days of not sleeping on the new Tempurpedic memory foam mattress, the majority of my problems improved significantly. Unknown to me for almost a full decade, I’ve been sleeping on bed that I believe has made me sick. One might wonder how come it took me so long to figure out the cause of my problems. The best explanation I can give is that I trusted that there are consumer product safety laws that protect me. It never occurred to me that the US Consumer Product and Safety Commission hadn’t thoroughly vetted any potential problems with the Tempurpedic memory foam material prior to its use by the American public. I assumed the bed I slept on would be safe, especially since people generally spend a third of their existence in bed. Surely our government made certain that the beds we sleep on are safe. I never gave it a moment’s thought that the bed I sleep on had the potential to make me sick. Why should a person have to an internet search of a new mattress. If a mattress requires a break in period, the sales person should tell the customer. Tempurpedic advertises as being good for a bad back. Most people with a bad back cannot "break in" a mattress. That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

Getting your money back for this poor quality mattress is like pulling teeth. We have been trying for 2 months and still the mattress is laying on my living room floor. Any one interested in pusuing class action should email me.

Usually memory foam mattresses take at least thirty days to break in. It can be difficult to do mattress returns because of the hygeine and health issues associated with them. Also, once it's returned it cannot be sold again.

Honestly, there isn't really a problem here. One mattress, no matter how many satisfied users, isn't going to please everyone.

Your salesperson should have warned you of the breaking in required, but two minutes of internet research would have informed you as well.

Tempur-Pedic North America Bed brings on pain

Buyers beware : we have only had our tempur-pedic bed for 5 months. My husband has slept on it fine, but I have not had a good night sleep on it once.. And for 53 years prior to this bed, I could brag on how great I slept. Since the tempur-pedic, I have been to the chiropractor about 20 times in the last few months... Neck problems, hip problems, tingling in hands, feet, waking in the middle of the night with pain!
Tempur-pedic and their retail outlets have a great marketing strategy. I began to feel like, I too was the only one who couldn't sleep on a tempur-pedic. They kept telling us, "you need to adjust to the bed", "you will feel pain initially", "it will soften up". Note: we originally bought the rhapsody, they suggested that we wait and purchase "the cloud", it would be much softer... (and expensive)... Before you know it, the 90 days are up and you are doomed... I am thinking 20 years on this bed?!?! I am writing this with the hopes that others will not fall in to this marketing strategy that tempur-pedic has going and spend $ on the bed, and then $ on the chiropractor. If you are a back only sleeper, you may enjoy this bed... If not, get your health insurance card out. We are contacting the area manager of the store we purchased from... Will we be so blessed that they will exchange it at this point?

Tempur-pedic responded quickly and professionally to address my concerns. I still believe, this bed is great for many, just was not right for me. Thank you again Tempur-pedic, that even after 90 days.. you want to make a customer happy - and you did!

sorry, 90 days is 90 days, not almost twice that. just sell it second hand, take the loss and find one that suits you better.
