Synchrony Bank Close a great account and leave the one behind on open

Had a rtg account never late and just bought new furniture. (had account for 9 yrs or more) great credit score. I also had a cc account with team and was 2 days.. Note two days from meeting the 180 day interest free and then added the whole 180 interest to my account over $1300. Why not just the 2 days. I believe this company is a bad fraud plus the csr really sucks also. Beware folks they will stick you and not even blink a eye about it

Desired outcome: 2 days interest instead on 180 days.

Synchrony Bank Credit card

Can not get record of charges against the account. Only show last transaction. Called on hold, VPS hold again then VPS again. No statements are mailed and info not available on line. Also do not know due dates for payment, keeps saying no payment due.

Synchrony Bank I had multiple accounts that were randomly closed

In September of 2021, I had my American Eagle and JcPenny credit card both close. I understand the JCPenny card closing as I did not use it very often, but I still had a 100% payment record on it. The American Eagle card I used quite frequently, and even if my current card was about to expire, my account should have have closed. My credit score has been greatly affected by this and I have been having a hard time applying for a mortgage with this happening. These accounts were not closed due to failure to pay on time. These accounts were the first credit accounts I opened and gave me a great history with both of them being open 2+ years. I am just wanting an explanation as to why they were closed.

Synchrony Bank Credit card

Synchrony Bank just closed 5 of my accounts - out of no where for no reason! My Amazon, Lowes, Car Credit, Sams Club and TJ Maxx accounts were closed... just like that... no explanation! My credit score is 720+ and all accounts have been in good standing for years! I call and get no explanation or than to reapply... I lost all my points and with no reason. How about just lowering limits or something? It is crazy that good customers have to deal with this crap... I will take the liberty and close EVERYTHING related to Synchrony and NEVER DO BUSINESS with this group again!

I am so disappointed with Synchrony Bank!

Desired outcome: REINSTATE MY ACCOUNTS!

I have had a similar experience. I had a $12k credit limit on a PC Richards' card. My balance was below zero, a credit. They just cancelled my card and took away $12k in available credit making my credit utilization go way up and hurt my credit score. They did not contact me or ask why my credit score had temporarily dipped, I had actually paid down $15k in credit cards the week before they canceled my cards that would not be reflected until the next credit cycle. They told me it was unlikely my credit score would increase, yet it did bounce right back after the payments were reflected, but it would have gone even higher back in the 700's as it had traditionally been if the $12k was still there. My score was 758 just months before they closed my account. They did the same thing to a T.J. Maxx card a few years ago and I lost my certificates that I earned to spend there. They are just hurting the retailers. I buy all of my appliances from P.C. Richards or at least I did, more than $20k spent at their stores. I called the store to let them know what happened and why I would not be shopping there anymore. Now I am having trouble getting a new card to help my credit utilization because they are looking at the closed account. The customer service is terrible and I have been waiting 3 months for them to contact me to speak about this, when I call they tell me that they are still working on it.

Synchrony Bank Ashley and LSpaces card

Synchrony is intentionally defrauding customers by canceling their lines while rendering payment in good faith and then having their credit scores be affected so shareholders may write off their junk bonds in the coming market correction at the behest of consumers. My lines canceled Fico took a hit and im left with a 2200 interest on a 1700 debt, now im over the limit and have a -43 pt ding while repairing my report after years of not realizing the system is rigged.

Yes! The same situation happened to me with Synchrony randomly closing 2 of my accounts. They were my oldest accounts with 100% on time payments, and my score was affected by over 100 points. This all happened in the middle of trying to buy a house as well so it has been quite frustrating.

Synchrony Bank Dispute

i purchased Furniture from random store in NY, they have shipped us wrong items. we tried multiple time reaching them out but no response, i ended up contacting synchrony bank to dispute the amount of 4000$. after three weeks bank closed the case that they cant help if merchant sent the wrong item, like seriously, if merchant is not responding, and bank is not taking care of their customer where do i go and file complaint on this one?

synchrony bank is the worst bank in customer service. they can simply tell merchant to send us what we ordered or either refund us, but no, bank is taking merchant side cause they give them business

synchrony bank closed all my credit cards at once all in good standing no missed or late payment messed up my credit reports .accounts were 7 years old I have googled this problem and found many people with same issue its not fair that they are allowed to do this and get away with it. there should be a class lawsuit against this bank. i would like some legal help but dont know where to start.

Synchrony Bank Paypal credit

After well over a decade of on time everytime payments. My account was closed due to a fraud case Paypay lied about. They said they investigated a $450 payment to a fake website. They did not. They found it in their favor. I disputed it with my bank. A few days later paypal sent me a letter saying they could not provide the documentation of their findings i requested. That they overturned the decision. In the wake of it. They froze my paypay account and stopped letting my Autopay go thru to Synchrony bank/Paypal credit. Charged me a late fee. And CLOSED THE ACCOUNT. I called cust service the next 10 months. As they tell me it is fixed. Paypal sends notification Emails saying my auyopay proccessed. Then a few days later. I get a phone call saying it was NOT. A late fee. I went thru this 10 months before i stopped responding or paying. Then A nice agent called me. Asked if i was making a payment cause i was late again at no fault of my own. I said no. I wont. She asked why. I said if you refuse to do your job and stop lying to me every month. I'm not gonna do my job and pay. She looked up my account and said '' Wow this is been going on a long time'' Yes it has. She credited back almost a thousand in late fees and interest. The following month I paid the remaining balance. In full. The account is already closed. For first payment being rejected at no fault of mine. Somehow I accrued a $85 balance on a account long since been closed and paid in full over a month before. They are a rip off They lie repeatedly. And scam us out of hard earned money during a pandemic and reccession. I know I am not alone. I welcome a class action. I have a years worth of evidence to contribute.

Desired outcome: Paypal held accountable and pay back everyone they ripped off.

Synchrony Bank Interest charges

Synchrony Bank charged me $8.66 interest on my account because I couldn't read the small print. I paid $138.00 when the bill was $138.27.
I called to try to get it removed. They said "no".
I am a handicapped veteran and cannot see very well. I have a FICO score of 847. I pay every card in full every month. I feel Synchrony bank is one of many businesses who do not like patriots. This money is minor but the unforgiving attitude of Synchrony Bank. in my mind is non-American!

Synchrony closed all my credit cards that were associated with Synchrony. I was never late and paid them all off with no balance when they closed them. My credit score suffered because of their action.

Synchrony Bank Amazon & Synchrony Bank

I have been a customer of AMAZON‘s for well over a decade now. Several years ago I signed up for an Amazon prime card through synchrony bank on Amazon‘s website. I have been a "perfect" customer for years. No late payments ever.

This year (2021), I had two late payments due to unforeseen circumstances. I cleared up the late payments and paid off my entire card. Immediately after doing so, synchrony bank closed my account and forfeited my $50 in Amazon points for my purchases. Never to be returned in spite of two hours worth of phone calls. I wasn't even given notice that they would be closing my account. I had to call in to find out why my charges were being rejected when I had funds on my account. This is the most unprofessional and crappy company I could've ever worked with. They are not to be trusted at all.

Desired outcome: Reinstate my account and return my $50 in Amazon points that Synchrony forfeited for me.

Synchrony Bank Credit card synchrony closed my account in good standing

Looks like they closed my synchrony account in good standing no late payments still owe small balance 1400 dollars will pay off and cut up card sure their mad because I won't keep making purchases, I believe in paying off balances before using my card .again my score dropped significantly but my on time payment history speaks volumes damn a score creditors that I spoke too said payment history is what they care about not so much your score. Everybody said synchrony is the worst credit card to have

Synchrony Bank Website browser issues for CD/Savings

Synchrony Bank, an online bank, no longer works with a Firefox browser. Having wasted more than 30 minutes on the phone with customer service, and clearing cookies and cache, I finally got put through to a technical expert who said it was a known problem with Firefox and Safari, but with no ETA for a fix. Firstly, if it's a known problem, why haven't customer service been informed? I've wasted my time and theirs, and have also lost my cookies and cache . Secondly, an online bank that only works with one browser is not an online bank. Banks keep asking us to abandon paper statements, which is a great idea for the environment, but that needs to be protected with adequate online/website reliability

Synchrony Bank Closed all my accounts for no reason

I had 15 accounts with Synchrony and over night they decided to close all of them damming my chances of becoming a home owner. This company is the worst and I will never do business with them ever again. My accounts were all paid on time and no where near the limits. I was not even given a simply call or letter. This bank should not be able to treat good customers in such an awful way.

This just happened to me too! All of my accounts were in good standing never late on any payments and almost all with no balances! Had high limits on all cards in fact some of them the limits were just raised and then 2 days later they were all closed!

Synchrony Bank Credit card application denial. (Lowes)

I applied for a Lowes credit card on Oct 3, 21. I was denied without an explanation. I have called several times and have yet to receive a letter explaining the reason for the denial. I have a credit score of over 800. and have other cards from Synchrony Bank. So why have I been denied?

Synchrony Bank Sam's Club Credit Card

11/29/2021

On 8/26/2021 My wallet was pick-pocketed on a SEPTA Bus as I was walking down the isle to get off at 19th and Market.

Well Fargo called me within 30 minutes as I was at the District 9 police station to tell me they blocked the card when someone tried to withdraw $400 at Rite Aid in Philadelphia and I live 30 miles away.

Everything was resolved except the Sam's Club. I was then to receive a threatening collection letter for $26.76. I have no idea what I supposedly purchased.

I went to Sam's to see if they could be of help. I told the cahier I had no idea what this charge was for. I would not think that I would charge such a small purchase. I also said I would pay right then just to clear it up. I gave her my Wells Fargo Debit Card ending in 4628. She left for a brief time, and when she returned she handed me my card back and I left the store.

Then I get another threatening letter from Synchrony Bank saying my Credit Sore has been lowered! It was 810 but I believe it is now about 790.

There are a few questions:
Why on earth would I possibly scam $26.76 with such a high credit Score?
What did I purchase for $26.76?
What happened to the payment I made to the cashier at Sam's;

I would be happy to pay the amount you believe is due a second time if you can provide the answers and make correction to the credit score.

Synchrony Bank Billing/computer complaints

Billing/computer complaints:
I did same thing for Sam's club too

Cash advances and cash rewards are different things and it's should be added as an option to pay for the bill
Back in may/June, I take out money from my Sam's club card to put towards my bills it didn't not go down at all
I always be watching credit cards/bills especially these days with scams/fraud/so on its very scary
Computer not always be accurate at times and can freezes or need to refreshes time to time or clear cache if you know what I mean
I'm trying to avoid tyme machine fee especially when it's get expensive if u know what I mean
Hopefully u guys can get ur system updated/freshes/add cash advances and cash rewards as an option to the credit card bill Hopefully know what I mean

Synchrony Bank High Yield Savings Account

We had a HYS Account for 4 years and then we moved. I notified them of the move and was told that I would be locked out of my account for 60 days until they verified our new address. I kicked up such a fuss that they allowed me to wire transfer 75% of our funds to another bank. Yesterday, I called them to close the account and was told to provide "proof of address" or they would not release the funds. I mailed them what they asked for and I know that if I call in 10 days either they won't have received it or it won't be enough.
If I want a statement or a balance, they will give it to me over the phone.

DOES THIS MAKE SENSE?

Synchrony Bank Credit Card

TOTAL BS COMPANY!
I am not ashamed to say that I am trying to rebuild my life, My wife lost her 6 year battle and passed away in 2020... during those 6 years we went from having everything we ever wanted and a credit score of 730 to having our home foreclosed, savings and retirement gone, vehicles taken and living behind paycheck to paycheck... Now I am doing everything I can to rebuild my sons and I's lives.. They granted me a $300 credit line, not much but when you are rebuilding from nothing its a start...
I've had the card for 6 or 7 months now, Log in today to make a payment (EVEN THOUGH ITS NOT DUE) and I see they have reduced my limit in half...
FOR WHAT?
I have NEVER missed a payment, in fact I ALWAYS paid more than due and paid more than once per month...
SO WHY WAS IT LOWERED?

This company must be ran by Democrats who base decisions on "Feelings" instead of cold hard FACTS!

So today I paid off the balance and will close the account... I know that's going to hurt my rebuilding of my credit but, cant be worse than having them reduce my limit FOR NO REASON AT ALL other than "presumptions"

WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN what a POS Company!

Synchrony Bank Credit cards

Horrible incompetent bank. Did a home improvement that had a 0% interest for 18 months using Synchrony. I chatted with a Synchrony customer service rep to help ensure I set up autopay correctly - basically taking a fixed amount that would pay off the loan in 18 months (about $600/month). He ASSURED me it was setup correctly. To my surprise, they took out the entire amount of the loan for the first payment (almost $12, 000). Talking to a real person is very difficult. And they are basically refusing to fix this to my satisfaction. They can "mail" me a "refund", which will take about a month. Meanwhile, I have a huge deficit in my bank account, and these games will only further screw up any autopay I want to set up. Asked if they would pay the fees that could pile up on my checking account during this time. They DID admit this was their mistake.

On hold for over 4 hours total. hung up on twice. Dropped from online chat 4 times. Was asked to confirm with my bank that the payment had been made and I couldn't otherwise cancel it. Was told to call back particular person to continue. But no direct line, and calling the customer service number, they WON'T connect be back to person. So more hold time.

One star is too many. Stay away from this financial institution. They are incompetent. On hold for hours. Online chat is worthless. Wish I had checked online reviews previously, but years ago, I had made a similar purchase for 0% interest that used Synchrony. All went smoothly then. I assumed it would this time around. I was so wrong!

Even though they call themselves Synchrony Bank, they claimed to me that they are not a bank. They refused to just deposit the money back into my account.

Poor online account access. Hard to use. Customer service is a joke, if you can actually get to them. You have been warned. Read other reviews. Stay away.
