Supercuts dissatisfaction

I went to Supercuts for highlights for longer hair (about 4 inches past my shoulders) and for my whole head. The women then proceeded to tell me that she would charge me &75 for the length of my hair, and then another $80 because I wanted my whole head done. That sounded outrageous to me. She was referring to her little pricing chart when she was telling me how much it would be and it really looked like they were only supposed to charge me $80 which included the length as well as the whole head, but she disagreed with me and said that it would be around $155 total for highlights. I said forget it, I just moved to this state from the East Coast, and where I'm from, we have Hair Cuttery and they would only charge me around $80 for the same length hair and my whole head. The other stylist then proceeded to tell me that the other salon probably didn't do my whole head and I'm mistaken in thinking they did and thats why it was so cheap, and I said "Well, I'm pretty sure they colored all the hair." So she checked and sure enough, my whole head had been done. She said, "Well, thats really cheap if you had it done for that price, and you won't find that here, I can guarantee you. This is an expensive hair town." I was like, Kentucky? An expensive hair town? So I looked up different local salon (not a Supercuts) and I asked for pricing, they told me $75 for my length of hair AND my whole head. I told them what Supercuts said, and she said well I would consider complaining because they were trying to charge you twice. I thought about calling, not with intent to complain, but to make sure the stylist wasn't just mistaken and read the pricing chart wrong. But when I called, they wouldn't give me a straight answer. I asked for the price of highlights for my length (about 4 inches past my shoulders) and my whole head, all she could tell me is that there are five levels of stylists working there and depending on who does it and if they need to use an extra tube of color, and that she can't quote me on color over the phone, so I said forget it. I'm never going to Supercuts again. I tried, but its just been so difficult. And there is NO WAY I would pay $155 for a color job. That doesn't even include a styling!

i guess i was lucky when i was told they were not able to do my colour or my daughters and were very rude . I asked them a simple question about where there salon studio was because i was going to take a class there in the mornign and they said they can not give me any information on this LOL The studio was like 5 feet behind them ! The class was a waste of time the teacheris (bloomfiled NJ) Anita, prejudice and they taught pinch partings and c shape checking when they really should be working on customer service > this was a nightmare experience for me as a customer and a hair stylist and i would advise any talented respectable stylist to work in another salon that respects customers and employess

I am currently employed at a supercuts location in ky. I can tell you most of the employees will pocket the money, I have been there for about 5 months now, and have done only a total of 3 chemical services. From my understanding you have to con people and charge for extra services, if the hair is pass the bra strap my salon will not do it. Another thing that makes no sense is we can only highlight your hair if you want to be blonde, we will not put a blonde color gel in your hair even if your a blonde already... there are no such things as touch ups at a supercuts.. this is a horrible place of employment and for clients to come in. Alot of stylist don't have continuing education so they have no idea what's going on. I worked at a Fantastic Sams for my appreanticeship and there they charged $60 for highlights and $10 extra if you have longer hair.. supercuts is a ripoff!

That stylist was probably gonna pocket half the money instead of ringing it up on the register. Supercuts runs a very crooked business and they treat their employees very badly. I think they pay them less than minimum wage and recently they started cutting hours because business is bad. The company is known to be racist and there are many lawsuits filed in the past and many lawsuits that are presently open and lawsuits that will take place in the future. I wouldn't give them my business anyway...

Supercuts scam artists

WorstCuts this is the right name. People don't get fooled by the name it is not good at all I had a horrible experience with them. They are a rip off. I have never had such a horrible cut in my life. They ruined my hair totally. I told the stylist what it was that I wanted. But she was busy talking to her friend and not paying attention to what I had to say. She was very rude too. After she finished I was almost in tears. I had beautiful long hair which she made like a mop on my head. I was very angry and I asked for the manager o owner any one. I wanted to get a discount because she ruined my hair totally. The stylist said the owner wasn't there. I went home in a way that no one could see what was done to my hair. I was very unhappy and did not go out tell my air grew enough so that it did not look funny any more. Do not go to Supercuts.

That's it ! 70 bucks to ruin people hair . this is the worst experience that i never ever have before . i'd rather do it at home than go to the professional hair salon to ruin my hair and rip off people money so easy like this .

Supercuts discrimination, jealousy

I have been an awesome employee for Supercuts for almost 8 years. I have seen so many stylists and managers come and go from my shop, I remained the loyal employee throughout. During those 8 years, i came to hear stories regarding the area supervisor, Michelle Ortega, through other stylists, including a long term manger, Kim Houston. As the stories got around, I noticed every employee who had found out about Michelle Ortega's drug busts in company cars and drug sales among other stylists at different shops were being taken out of Supercuts, and either transferred elsewhere or let go. I was the sole survivor, until Friday, August 14th, 2009.
On and off, Michelle would be indifferent about my position there, according to two of my girls that worked with me there. After Kim was made manager to another location, that's when Michelle was going in for the kill...There were about two managers that she went through, and let them go or transferred out, because they ceased to terminate me. I have always been a great stylist, and I have a huge clientel! Many days everyone in the waiting room would be waiting just for me, leaving the other employees just sitting around. Everyone that I have worked with always noticed my popularity, including my clients! Well that seemed to be the last straw for the most recent manager, Mylisa Lewis.
The past few months that Ms Lewis has been at Supercuts, I knew she had her reservations about me, I'm sure Michelle Ortega helped her out on that one. She always had something to complain and write me up about, and i would always do my best to comply and correct anything that seemed possible to meet her standards. She would always love to ask me, "You've been here eight years, and you still don't know that?" In all honesty, my answer was "yes." Mind you, in the eight years that i've worked there, we were about giving great haircuts, color, waxes, and recommending products to our customers. Rules were rarely acknowledged, let alone enforced, there wasn't any reason need be, considering everyone got along, and we worked well together. Petty problems were addressed and taken care of amongst ourselves, or the manager. Why was that so hard for Mylisa to believe?
As time went on, Mylisa would praise me on my improvements that i was making to benefit her "concerns." She would also comment on how many loyal customers i had coming to me, and how wonderful my haircuts were. One day she had mentioned that she has a personality that enjoys having "power" and "control." She enjoys being the leader. She wasn't kidding. On Friday afternoon, Mailynn and I went to the bank for the shop. On the way, she tells me to be "careful, " Mylisa and Michelle want you out. Mailynn claimed it to be jealousy on both ends. On Friday night, one of my regulars came in to get a cut and color. I accidentally stained his shirt with black dye, and i gave him a 6 dollar discount. That was all Mylisa and Michelle needed. She was playing phone tag with someone for the last two hours we were open, leaving me to cut by myself. At the end of the night, she told me i violated a "security regulation" and was not allowed to work there anymore. She said, "Discounts are supposed to go through me first." Excuse me? Wouldn't a warning have been sufficient? In the many years I've been there, everyone was grown up enough to decipher when discounts were reasonable, and was never a problem.
Now i have tried leaving messages on Michelle Ortega's voicemail, and the regional manager, Silver's, voicemail. No one has called me back. I never signed papers, nor filled out any separation sheet. Is everyone just cowards? It just upsets me greatly that a star employee was treated so unfairly, and discriminated against, while pothead Michelle Ortega who was busted in a company car still has a job. Who is protecting her? Silver, the regional manager? Is the whole Regis Corporation just corrupt or what? Keep Michelle, a jealous drug dealer who uses the company car, but get rid of a fantastic, loyal stylist? Unbelievable. If anyone is considering working for them, make sure the area supervisor is not Michelle Ortega.

I'm not surprised. I had the misfortune of knowing Michelle Ortega at Andress High School in El Paso in the early 1980s (her maiden name is Lewis) and she's this vain, cruel, manipulative little creep. Her pot habit goes way back and so does her habit of chewing up, spitting out, bullying and humiliating people.

Am I surprised? NO, this company is going down, that's why they have a new president to try to stop the down fall of the company. They lost 22 milion DL on last Qt.
They treat the stylist like crap, making us to work like we are on assembly line, the regional managers telling the salon managers to use the " wip" on us to make us selling more & more products and services, to make money for the ones who don't gerenate any profits for the company, they only come with stupid ideas as they sit on their offices doing nothing.
All SuperCuts stylist they should do what the people from Cairo did and stand up for better pay.

The supervisor sounds like a detrement to the Supercuts organization. I'm sure it depends on the particular district manager, but I think this supervisor needs remeadial human resource coaching.

Supercuts - terrible haircut and stylist

So I decided to give it a try and get a trim from Supercuts since my regular hairstylist will be off for a week. The woman that cut my hair took a look at my hair and said “oh, Honey, when was the last time you HAD a haircut.” I told her about 6 weeks ago and she said “honestly, whoever cut your hair did a terrible job.” I should have trusted my gut...

Supercuts highlights sucked

Marilyn from this store was very pushy and gave me a pathetic highlight job. I should have known better to not let her give me highlights when she suggested I only needed crown highlights after I kept repeating I wanted all-over highlights. Last time I checked, it is the customer that determines the service they want. When Marilyn was finished, I was left with striped hair and not enough foils on my bangs and the top of my hair. It is also blotchy on my bangs because she did not weave the hair to highlight. In other words, she just highlighted blunt strips of hair on my bangs.

After getting home, and drying my hair, I noticed just how bad my hair was. Because my hair was so uneven I got Color Oops. I did not use Color Oops however; because after visiting their web site, it said that it could not be used on highlights. Damn I thought. Now I am stuck with uneven highlights unless I dye my hair back to my natural color.

Hoping that I would get my money back, my hair fixed, or my hair back to my natural color, I called the regional supervisor of Supercuts. You see the person that did my hair (Marilyn) is actually the supervisor of the Greenlawn location so I asked for somebody over her. That got me nobody any better.

I was told by Pamela (regional supervisor) that I only had two options. Pamela said that Marilyn could fix my hair (no thank you), or she herself could fix my hair. I opted for the regional supervisor to fix my hair. What a disappointment. Pamela was extremely rude, talked loud, and did not know what she was doing either. She insisted I just needed toner. It is a long story but when I walked out of there I had darker hair. It was like I never had highlights at all. The toner she used was too dark. Not only do I now have brown hair with blotchy dark highlights on my bangs, but I still have the blotches of whitish hair in the front of my head. If she had common sense, she would have put the toner on the light strands of white for a longer period of time than she did for the rest of my hair. That is the way they did it in North Carolina. I guess I was expecting too much. I specifically also gave visual examples of how I wanted my hair and was assured that my hair would be highlighted all over.

There is nothing like having your hair messed up to ruin your day. My hair is now a light brown with blotchy dark highlights on my bangs. I hate it.

Omg! i went to Supercuts in VA and you could barely tell they gave me highlights so i complained and the manager there tried to convince me that all i need was toner. I told her to rehighlight my hair and she did and it turned out a lot better and more the way i wanted it. But she tried the same thing with oh toner will make it work better mess.

Supercuts disrespectful business practice

Rude adn disrespectful, and lack of communication skills.

1) This branch, as a whole, continually misunderstands instructions on what you want for your style, haircut. They have continuously mis-understood what we (me and my kids) tell them. THEY ARE NOTHING MORE THAN AN EXPENSIVE BARBER SHOP! Really, how hard is it to trim split ends and to layer properly? IT IS NOT HARD AT ALL.

They are just as bad at hair-coloring. Not just with me. for example, just as I was experiencing my 2nd "bad" haircut, another woman walked in complaining about her hair-coloring (which she had received 2 days ago). First, according to her complaint, it was the wrong shade. She had complained at the time, but the "hairstylist" told her to wait a day "as it will lighten up." IT DID NOT. Second, she complainted that her roots (in the back of her head, where she did not see it until she was at home) were NOT COLORED and like the rest of her hair!

I thought going to a discount/bargain place and tipping high would ensure a great experience. I would rather go to an expensive place (that does it right all the time) and tip regularly! Or, just go a barber shop for half the cost!

2) This brach repeatedly represents "no waiting time" when I use their "call-in" method. This last time, I called I arrived within 5 minutes of the "no-waiting" call (I have my time stamp from my call to Supercuts and a txt I received as I walked into Supercuts). There's 5 separate people (not related to one another) waiting and two of the three hairstaylist just started with new customers (the third was doing an appointment hair coloring).

When asking about how long the waiting time is, one stated not long, as soon as one is done the next on the list is up--"But you'll have to wait because these folks just walked in." When I told her I called in, she became defensive and adopted the attitude that I simply have to wait. I asked if I was on the list, she stated if I signed in, to which I reiterated that I had called. She becomes more defensive and her conduct betrays her lack of education and civility.

3) Rude and disrespectful.

LOL! Go do your own hair then. Sounds to me like you've lived your entire life like a Princess. Wake up hunny, this is the REAL WORLD! They have business there for a reason. I have been getting my hair cut there for 2 years now and never once have I had a problem. I know every stylist's name and they no mine. It is a GREAT environment and place to get your hair cut.

Supercuts ruined shirt

A stylist ruined a shirt with hair color which stained the back of shirt. about an 8" stain. Owner won't return calls regarding the replacement of shirt and no one offered to replace it while there. Are there any laws in SC that require them to replace damaged clothing. Manager is a great person for the store but OWNER, Mary, calls the shots and will not return my calls regarding this.
What are my options?

i work for a supercuts and when you get color if you where to read your release/ permission slip to get color it says supercuts does not cover damge of clothing during color processes ... you have the option to remove your shirt and change into a color smoke so youe options none... my advice read the fine print when you sign something.

Supercuts worst haircut ever

My hairdresser recently decided that she wanted to leave her salon and instead offer very expensive in-home styling, so I was left to my own resources to find someone to trim my hair. My style is very simple, shoulder-length with long layers around the face. I couldn't imagine even a first time hairdresser messing up something this easy. So, I went to Supercuts to try to save some money.

When I went in, I explained to the stylist that i just want a light trim, to get rid of the damaged ends. I am growing out my hair and do not want to lose the length. She assured me that they are trained on all styles and this would be no problem. Then, she started cutting.

They aren't layers, they are chunks. She pulled my hair up over my head and cut the hair straight across, letting them fall in steps to my neck. And it kept getting shorter. I started seeing three inch pieces falling on my lap. "It's too short!" I said, but she argued that it was just the layering. I lost most of the hair around my round face it was inches above my shoulders in the front, just touching my back in the back. I wanted to cry but was more motivated to leave.

When I got home, I was so upset. My husband didn't really see the problem. "You look like a normal mom, " he said. My 16 year old daughter, however, came in and immediately said, "Mom, you have a mullet!" Great.

My hair is my major pride. I work as a gothic and industrial music critic and I've had a dozen styles and colors, from very short to very long, black, white, blue, red, and purple. If I look like a "normal mom, " they won't even let me through the door. Now, more than a month later, all I can do is wear it in a ponytail and wait for it to grow back. I will never go back to Supercuts. The next time I want a cheap haircut, I'm going to give scissors to my 3 year old nephew.

Supercuts horrible experience

Unsatisfactory and unprofessional customer service. Horrible expierence with stylist regarding the haircut I received (It was NOT what I asked for or intended at all, whatsoever) Stylist seemed like I was bothering her on her break or something, Made no attempt in speaking to me or asking any of the normal questions a stylist would ask the client. The original haircut I wanted with a chin lengthed bob w- bangs. How hard is that? She was all over the place, dropping things, cutting my hair without even putting it into clips (soaking wet mind you) She didn't even acknowlege me when I asked questions or even when I told her I wasn't happy at all towards the end. Like...no response at all, nothing... She stood with her arms crossed, all confused when I asked for 'Side swept bangs' When I left, I was so upset...that I had to go to another salon and cut my hair off to fix the mess of ruined hair on my head! I didn't want to be mean at the time but it's almost as if she was mute & I was really wanting to ask her but I didn't :(To top it off, I didn't even see any of the stylist license displayed anywhere in the store! When did that start?) I made so many attempts with that store, after that horrible night for an apology and possible refund-reimbursement which, included calls to the business and showing in person twice. Was told to speak with Regional Manager, "Amancia Williams" about taking care of situation. She had an immense lack of interest in helping me and did not return my call when I was told to expect one. (Said she would be contacting me within two to three days, I got nothing.) Also wrote an e-mail to the 'Regis Corporation' about said experience & still heard nothing back. I even had to put a dispute through my credit card company because of the way I was ignored. I would NEVER EVER go back there and I wouldn't suggest the stylist I saw to even my worst enemy. Yeah, that bad.

I'm sorry, but i just received the worst hair cut of my life. I asked the lady to cut it with a 2 razor and then blend it in on the sides...then cut it finger length at the top. She used 2 razor all the way up the sides and into the top of my head. After the hair cut I look very similar to Chunk on the Goonies movie. I told her that she cut it way too short up to the top. She then proceeded to argue with me and stated in very broken English that this is the way it was supposed to be because of the round structure of my face.

I never received a receipt so I can not provide you a transaction number. The lady who cut my hair is from Peru. She was very nice however she was much more interested in having a conversation then concentrating on cutting my hair.

I cant tell you how disappointed I am. I have always had good experiences at super cuts in the past, but I will never be going back again.

I am writing this review at 2am in the morning. The reason for this is because I cant sleep due to the frustration of this. This is also the first time in my 33 years of living that I have written a bad review, however I felt this was warranted.

My Father was on a retreat in Destin Florida, The week of the 18 th of June 07 through the 22nd of June 07, He stopped at the supercuts in destine Florida, for a BASIC mens hair cut a Tawaniese lady cut his hair scissors and Buzzers Style a common cut among older men. However she cut his head with the Bussers and sent him on his way. Seeing that it is physically almost impossible to feel pain to the head as he did not, When he returned Home to Atl, GA. I was admiring his hair cut when he turned around I noticed a 1/2 inch Laceratin behind his left ear that probably would have required 2 to 3 stitches seeing that the doctors and medical staff at our local hospital here in Atlanta, Georgia. Said that the wound was to late to be sutured, they did require that we watch him for possible staph infection, Shame on you Supercuts, for not claiming and training your employees to accept responsibilities. If i do not receive a response this compliant, I am taking matters FURTHER!

you can't ask ppl in your area where there is a good, reputable stylist that can cut hair?! you walk in not knowing how well this person cuts hair?! nobody cuts my hair until I know their credentials. unfortunately, you're stuck with the cut for a few weeks. you might find someone that can work "magic" and fix it. go back and speak to her manager/supervisor.

Supercuts managerial problem

The manager at the Battleground Wa supercuts is a bully. She walks around like everyone is in her way and we have made everyday a bad day for her. I have a big problem with the way this business is being run from one of the stylists point of veiw. We are overworked and are being told to do better." Meet more goals! It will be better for your paycheck if you just work a little harder." Daily speech around there. No warmness. Like she expects an assembly line. The floors are concrete with no cushions. It is hard to work with foot and back or knee problems from the required uniform shoes and inadequate flooring. So what can be done about this? Will I ever hear back from anyone over this? I hope so. A person who treats people like this does not need to be in charge.

i totally agree i have been a hairdresser for many years and i see supercuts only hires girls on their looks it seems . if the manager is that bossy or mean it shoudl be reported to headquarters or the better bureau industry i am against the way they treat us stylists in these chain stores. We are expected to be perfect be on time cut quickly accurately and work very hard etc etc and in turn we are treated rude time and time again by these franchises . I say something should be done in the industry and things shoudl change and more people like you should complain til your voice is heard

concerned for all hair stylists

Supercuts services

I called this store at 4:00pm today, and made appointment at 5:30pm for my son.

I arrived the store at 5:25pm with my son, and there were four hirecutters and five customers in the middle of services. I was told that there were THREE customers before me.

At 6:15pm, there were FOUR customers called before me, and I was the LAST and ONLY ASIAN being served there.

During the period of 50 minutes our waiting time, one hirecutter asked me
"Sir, were both of you doing hirecuts?" around 6:10pm.

At 6:14pm, one haircutter finished a boy customer, and told me that she's going to serve me next. After the boy's father paid the service, however, she served the boy back and told me that it's soon for my soon.

At this point, I have no idea what to say, but to leave with angry.

My son yield that "I hate SuperCuts".

Supercuts - scams and fraudulent job offers

I went into the Supercuts Arvada store on December 1 2008 to apply for a job. After filling out an application, the manager had taken me back to her office and proceeded to tell me about company benefits, policies, procedures, services rendered, ECT... after that she had proceeded to inform me I was to be hired to replace a worker who had left on maternity...

Supercuts superbutcher cut

On December 2, 2008, a "stylist" (MAVASH) butchered my hair. Listening to what the customer wants is definitely not her strong point, if she even has one. Intially I thought it was an ok style until I looked in my mirror at home--one side was a totally different style than the other plus a difference of over an inch & a half length. When I walked back in, she said, "WHAT?!" So she sat me down to "fix it" and the next thing I knew she was shearing me with clippers. I walked out in shock -- with less than an overall length of 2" left. After stewing for three days, I returned and got my money back. The $14 refund can't begin to replace how uncomfortable I am with looking like this. SO STAY CLEAR OF MAVASH, employee #5 in Mesa AZ.

Lu, I’m surprised to read this, because Mavash has been my favorite stylist for many years. I know that she is one of the rare stylists who can give you a $200 cut, for about $20. Of course, the big challenge is in knowing how to ask for it.

As far as Supercuts is concerned, mine is a love hate relationship. Many of the stylists are not that great and the customers are awful: rude people, kids screaming and everyone is in a big $14 dollar hurry.

Let me tell you my secrets for getting a great style on the cheap (aka Supercuts). First, find pictures from their style book or bring in your own picture. Second, if you’re looking for the best job, always come at odd hours, when few people are waiting. Third, be reasonable with your expectations. You should always ask the stylist’s opinion before you let them start. Fourth, wash your hair free of everything right before you come in.

Lastly, as with anything service industry, you should always treat people kindly and respectfully. You would think you wouldn’t have to remind people about this.

I live in Lexington Ky and have seen and experienced the same thing at local supercuts . The last time I went was the last time I went . Stylist I asked for was not available . I was looking at cuts as patrons left and one poor soul had a 2 inch gap to the skin on the back of his head, I immediate left. Needless to say that I have seen it quite often with supercuts.

Supercuts horrible hair cut

I am new in the area, although I have been in the States for over 20 years now. I went to have my hair cut on 9/27/o8 to a Super Cuts saloom. Linda, the girl that did it, was an inexperienced, dummy. I should've left the chair as soon as I had to explain to her the length of an inch 5 times. I didin't want to be disrespectful. Some times people do not have the math, but are good at what they do... no this one, she litterally chopped my hair up to my ears. this is over 4 inches. I hate short hair. But if at least she would have managed to give some stlyle...! Later Ali ( the manager ) tried to do something, but I end up with a look ready to scare people at Bush Gardens. I paid $13.00 which I would like back. Additionally Linda (the manager) gave me a card with a phone number in case I wanted to complain... the number is just for the 3 other Super Cuts salooms on the area, which I believe is an scam from her part to get me out of the store since it was obvious that I was more than dissatisfy with the poor service. I certainly want my money back.
Mond. 29 I had a unique ceremony and my inlaws came that weekend... what a horrible time I had when they tried to take pictures of me. Linda and Ali (the supervisor) had not chair manners and certaintly NO SKILLS CUTTING HAIR.
needless to say I WILL NEVER HAD MY HAIR CUT AGAIN IN ANY SUPER CUTS. They do not do any good to the name it should be rename SUPER HORROR HAIR CUT. if you want somenthing different... come to us, we will make sure to shock you and anyone that looks at you.

On behalf of supercuts, I wish there was something I could do for everyone who is uphappy with the service they received, or did not receive. Not EVERYONE is like that, and unfortuantly we all have bad experiences and those are what sticks in our minds. I think that my staff is awesome, and I do not stand for rude stylists, and try very hard to give the right and sometimes extra training to have the whole staff be able to give an exceptional haircut. I believe that this is the tools needed to make the salon a fun place for both the customer and the stylist. I hope the some of you will give the supercuts another chance, in the hopes that you will have the right person cutting your hair or servicing you. If you are an employee of supercuts and reading this, this is where are mistakes lye! Are you going to be the person that fixes them and is the exception to these complaints? or are you going to be the next story on here? Theses people were your bread and butter. You can't afford for this to keep happening! Choose to be the person who goes above and beyond!

###ing ###, "I'm a great hairdresser" hahaha. That's the most fake comment I have ever heard. Though there are some kinder employees in supercuts, the majority of them have the worst attitude and service I've ever seen at any store.
For example, two days ago, I went to try supercuts with my brother. When his server was done cutting his hair, he said he wanted to back a little thinner. She didn't even touch the back and cut the front of his hair and said, "alright, done, " without showing him the mirror. I was supposed to be next for my hair cut but the employees skipped me on purpose saying, "I don't want to cut his hair, " out loud in front of me. They skipped my turn and went off cutting other customer's hair.
After fifteen minutes after when it was supposed to be my turn, most of the customers were gone, and some old hag looked at me with an ugly facial expression of disgust. She sits me down and says, "Don't make me waste my damn time fixing your hair like your brother after I'm done."
Supercuts rating 0/10. ### that place.

Supercuts inexperienced hairdressers

i have my hair cut once a month and i dont have any thing different any of them months.

its a simple cut and i have been going there now for over a year. within that time i have seen hairdressers come and go at least 8-10 people have come and gone.

i went in last month for my usual to find 3 new staff in there, none of them was cutting hair, and i still had to wait 10 minutes. when i did get in the chair and was happy to pay £16.50 for a wash and cut, i was then told i couldn't have my usual grade one on the sides as none of them could do this!

i then settled for a grade 2 at the price of £11.50 as they couldn't do this grade 1 still thinking i was going to get my hair washed too, oh no i paid for a hair cut that would of cost £11.50 without a wash and still didnt get what i wanted anyway.

how can they get away this rubbish service and still charge the prices that they are.

I am a stylist at Supercuts in the Buffalo area and have experienced the same treatment at the hands of a manager. I and the entire staff are afraid to stand up for ourselves when we are reguarly humiliated in front of a waiting room full of people or written up for some small infraction.
And when i say small infraction i mean it does Not involve insubordination., Theft., or un-proffesionalsm. All of wich Certainly deserves documentation!
No ., that would be reasonable.,
Instead i have witnessed and exprienced write ups done out of sheer spite., Any One of us can point out to the manager that if she wants -

1) For us to be at work 15 mins b4 the hour ready to work and presentable (Hair makeup done ect.)
2)OR For us to keep conversations with all customers proffesional (No talk about personal problems., Partying ., Sex life ect.)
3)OR For us to keep cell phones put away and silent and used only on break.
4)OR For us to keep all and any friends or family out of the break room and office. (Ex: No lingering or hanging out of non-employees in employee only areas.!)
5)OR For us not to bring a nasty attitude to work.

If she really wants to set an example of what she expects from us Then SHE should DO IT TOO.!

She not only does what she wants w/out repercussions., But we are all on eggshells that she may SNAP at any minute with verbal abuse topped off with documentation over any small infraction she can come up with just to keep us in fear of losing our jobs and under her thumb!
Some people may say "So go take it to General Mngmnt!"
Well., This is a corporation. And corporations care about the bottom line.. Keep in mind this manager also happens to be a top seller! Her bullying extends not only to us stylists but to the customers.. With a big smile on her face the poor customers never know what hit them till after they've gone. Often with products or haircuts they didnt really want.. But too dazed and embarassed to do anything about it in the shop.
As a result i have personally found myself preffered by more than a few of her clientele..

GOOD!... Right?

Hell NO...Now i am a threat.. No one has a voice in this store., The fear of random documentation is that strong.. Now I have the mis-fortune of being a threat. God help me., ! I just want to NOT be harrassed daily at work.
I am extremely professional., Im asked reguarly when i join a new store if im mngmnt.., Im not a top seller every week w/out flaw., but i am also not the worst. I have years of cutting experience behind me and i truly love my trade and i take pride in my Art and my workplace.. When there are no customers i Clean and organize. Both things I actually enjoy doing on down time.In fact i am kinda known for cleaning constantly..
In addition I am Pro-active in the duties essential to the smooth running of a salon. I have responsibilities i take very seriously., Responsibilities a stylist such as myself is not expected to do as part of my duties or my position. But i do them bcause i have to make contributions to my store in order to feel good about myself..

In short., I am not a trouble maker by any means..I am not even grumpy. I would actually consider myself Emotionally Stable and Intelligent w a few fairly harmless Quirks. I make it a point to talk one on one w people i have conflict with in private in an attempt to come to understanding and peace., A Survival Skill crucial in any salon setting as most stylists know.

On ocassion tho u run into a person who., no matter how neutral you try to be ., Will just simply take everything as an attack and dis-like you for ANY Reason.
My frustration comes from not having control over my future stability bcause of my mis-fortune of having one such person as a mngr. . Its a bad situation Especially in this economy..
She has me convinced that she has had to Beg for my job from the General Mngr several times!., For being a few minutes late Or having a lower than expected sales percentage?

Wow., Really? Maybe if i was smarter i would have informed the General Mngr of you making your shift-mngr punch you in when you were running late into work? I was present for that when you yelled at her for forgetting to do it!
Or how you encourage the girls to personally buy clearance items and... Never mind.

Had i known the hurt this person was capable of inflicting on peoples self-esteem., That she had outright tendencies for verbal and mental abuse., I would have blown her in for that and sooo much more! After all., Do our customers really want to see and hear that?

I have developed recently the habit of avoiding eye contact w my customers... For fear of them seeing the anger or helplesness., dependind on my mngrs well being and wether her personal life is going well or not., For fear of them asking to many questions about whats the matter.. Wich would cause me to lose my intense focus on my customers..
Hard to sell and make people happy when you arent. When you are in constant fear of your mngrs random mood swings.! Oh at first i thought she was a great motivator! Truly! But like i said b4. I didnt know at first., in the beginning..

I really cannot safely give any more information..But if anyone else is in this type of situation.. I am so sry for you.

Please understand i heard several times she had a terrible childhood and i dont wish random bad stuff on anyone.
I just dont know where to turn.. And so ill vent here instead.
Even if the General Mngrs were able and willing to help all of us ., They have simply too many stores to watch over., it simply would not be feasable for them to guarantee protection from re-percussions to a whole store of women.

For Non-Stylists or Students
SuperCuts truly has much to offer.
I want to stress that i have had far more positive experiences with SuperCuts than bad. I would not be half the stylist i am today if i didnt have the opportunity to work for this company..
My opinions are my own and reflect only on my personal experiences with one person.

Anyone reading this who knows or works w me..I hope this helped you feel a little better..

Supercuts horrible haircut, bald spots

I took my 13 month old son to the Supercuts in Kansas City on North Oak last week for his very first haircut. My son if biracial and had very pretty big curls! I went in and from the beginning this woman had an attitude, I should have just left then. So we sit down and I have my son in my lap and I tell her I barely want anything taken off of the ends I just want it evened out. So she asks my what size guard I want to use, so me being a first time mom, never having had a boys hair cut before, tell her that I don't know how the guards work, I don't know what size to use, but that I barely want the ends taken off. So she pulls out the clippers and with the first bzzz I started to cry. She cut my baby's big curly hair all the way to the scalp, I started to cry and told her she was an idiot and that i told her I barely wanted any off. He has bald spots! And it so uneven! She was not apologetic and was very rude, she finished and he had patches and bald spots and it looked like he had mange! So I go to leave, in tears mind you, and she says that will be 10 dollars. I told her there was no way I was paying for this and I asked for a supervisors number or when one would be in. She said she had no number and there was no corporate number as well. The next day I call back and I get the same lady and she again refuses to give me a manager, so I find the corporate number and they offer me a giftcard! Then I finally get in touch with a manager and they ask me to come fill out a formal complaint because they had had complaints about her before and were trying to get her fired. They asked me to bring my son so they could see how she butchered it. So tomorrow I'm taking him in and taking in before pictures as well. I took him somewhere else to see if they could fix it and they evened it as much as could be done, but it seems I will have to have all his hair shaved.

Supercuts poor pricing discrimination

Supercuts has a revised pricing system which charges $3 extra if you request a certain hair stylist. Seems to me to be backwards. A customer who requests a certain stylist may have to wait longer than a walk-in. If Supercuts wants repeat customers and a customer gets comfortable with a certain stylist, they should not charge extra; probably would be better off giving a discount to return customers.

If you want a certain stylist, it is obviously because they are more experienced and a lot of people want them. This is not discrimination. You don't want to wait that long than get someone else. You should not have to pay less to get a haircut from someone who is more experienced. And I bet everyone reading your review laughed at you for claiming this was discrimination and indicating that if you want a well known stylist you should have to pay less because of the wait. Now would that not be "discrimination" to everyone else. In your view no, because you get what you want, even if it is special treatment.

Supercuts terrible customer service

I walked into a super cuts at 9:35am. There was no one in the store except for the hair cutter rocking in the chair looking bored. She came up to me and asked if I had called first. I said no. Then she asked how many wanted haircuts (I had my two girls). I told her 3 if possible. She then SIGHED, and fumbled through her THREE slips and told me there would be a wait.

WHY? I thought, as I am the only one here.

She said she had a waxing at 9:30 (but it was already 9:35) and two cuts at 10:00 and she was the only one there.

I was floored! She would rather be bored than cut hair for 30mins, and now that they don't dry or style hair, it only takes about 10-15mins per person. I told her to forget it and walked out.

I will NOT visit a Supercuts again, I thought they were great for walk-ins, but I guess I was wrong. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I went into the Supercuts on Whiting Street, Hingham, MA this mornign and was told by one of two stylists on duty that it would be 10 to 15 minutes. I took a seat, thinking that for Easter week that wasn't a bad wait.

One stylist was cutting the hair o a couple whom she obvioulsy knew, and seemingly was related to. As to be expected, these cuts took a little longer than usual and then the good bye scene at th register seemed to take even longer. The other "stylist" spent the whole time cutting the hair of a gentleman, who when I entered the store was stretched out snoring on a waitng bench. They clearly knew each other as they regaled each other, and everyone in hearing distance (which may have been well into the next town) about their drinking escapades, their sexual escapades, their sexual "prowess" and his ability to beat the system by collecting unemployment, watching tv all night and sleeping all day.

After just over an hour, one of the stylists asked the other if she had some particular supply. The answer was negative, whereupon the two of them left the floor for an extended period to go search the back room. At this point I stood up and announced to those who had arrived after me (and were still awake) that if I had received a cut when I arrived, I would need another now.

SUPER CUTS IS RUDE AND UNPROFESIONAL

On November 8th, on Michigan Ave, Chicago, I was threatened to be thrown out of the store simply because i was requesting if they could take care of me at 5:01, 1 minute late. I had called prior to my arrival and was at the intersection 2 doors away from the store but did not know the exact location. I called and the lady in the store said, she had no idea and could not guide me. Can you beleive that?! She works at the store and doesn't know one block north of her?! Obviously she did not want me to come. When i finally made it at 5:01, she simply refused to talk to me and. When i said that this was unacceptable, she threatened to throw me out of the store! This is beyond shocking! Never again am i returning to this supercuts or any supercuts. At a time in the eceonomy when you can't loose customers, these people really know how to do business. I was a 2 year customer never returning again.

Supercuts bad haircut and terrible customer service

Went to Supercuts @2:30 today on Olive Way and Denny in Seattle WA. There were only two people working (one cutting and one standing around with her finger up her ### doing nothing). Right away she snaps at me for my name, no "welcome" or " hello". She says it will be 20 minutes because the stylist would be taking a break after she finished with the customer she already had in her chair. Nice way to start! I say no problem and read a mag. She finishes her break @30 minutes later and looks at me and says in a snotty tone "Are you ready?" I say yes, (no, I've just been sitting here for the fun of it). I'm the only customer in the joint at this time.

She starts chopping at my hair and she keeps asking me how I want it. And stupid idiot questions like, "How high do you want the sides?" Huh? Don't you mean how short do i want the sides? ? My hair is very easy to cut. It's short business style for a man. Shouldn't have to tell her how to cut it 10 times. She's also jabbing me and nicking my skin enough to bleed. I ask her to take it easy and maybe get sharper shears or oil it. The shears aren't cutting -it's pulling at the hairs. She doesnt' like this and calls the manager over to tell her of my complaints and wants to know if she should continue. She tells her to go ahead while she's giving me more attitude. At this point she's 3/4 of the way through the cut and stops and asks me how it looks. I ask her if she is done, she says she is. When I look in the mirror I see that it's not symmetrical. I tell her that it is obviously uneven on both sides and a crooked front. She says, "Well that's your opinion, sir". I tell her to fix it and do it correct. Now the manager overhears this and tells me to get out of the chair and leave. I tell her to finish and fix the unevenness and I'll be on my way. She says "NO, get out of my salon!" Then she proceeds to call the police. I get the franchisee owner's name and leave. Since when is it a F***ing crime to make a complaint for poor service?! What a couple of talking monkeys with scissors. I wouldn't let them groom a dog. I know it's only a $15 haircut, but what is wrong with you people?! I'm glad I didn't want a perm or coloring, I feel sorry for any female that does and lets them get their incompetent hands on their hair!

I am a Caucasian male. On 03MAR2018, I went to my normal Supercuts to get a haircut, on Southside Blvd. in Jacksonville, Florida. Normally? To be perfectly honest, it's hard to find anywhere in Jacksonville, Florida where someone can rely on a good hair cut. I used to go to one place, but over half the time all they did was give me a glorified buzz cut regardless of what I asked for. I have been to over twenty different hair establishments in Jacksonville, Florida and it seems to be like a stupid epidemic down here, and they all fail in this same pathetic way, as if they cannot understand English, over half the time they all give a bad hair cut deliberately. But this Supercuts does better than most of the establishments I have been in on average which is why I usually go there nowadays.

Today was going to be special, as well. I was going to get my hair colored ash, which is more of a naturally looking brunette. I tell the stylist how I want my hair cut...basically a trim, same style. I prefer to keep the hair off my ears. I usually like stylist to start a line about a 1/4" above my ears, and to carry that line all the way around. Below that line, the stylist may use clippers if desired by the stylist, somewhere between a 2 and a 3, perhaps even a 4. From there, the stylist should be left with a bowl of hair above the line. From then on out, use nothing but scissors. Trim what I have, take about a 1/4" off my bangs. Then texture (not blend) the lower portion that had been clipped and the upper portion which had been scissor, using scissors, to where there is a marginal line left going around the head, while leaving good length around the calic for parting purposes.

What does the stylist do? The first thing she does is run some clippers all the way up the back of my head! Do I really need to spell out the rest of this torture? She did the opposite of what I asked. She left hardly any length around my calic, and used clippers for most of my hair, pulling my hair back as if that was the style I wanted. Please note it will take at least 6 weeks to grow my hair out enough so I can even part it again. It's a good thing I was getting it colored because it is the only thing that saved this wreck. One of the ladies who had cut my hair before was cutting the hair of a lady next to us, and when she heard the clippers run all the way up my head, she tensed up quite a bit. This damn stylist deliberately screwed my hair up, and then she didn't even clean up the hair around my ears. I was at home with tweezers for a half hour, plucking out hair from my ear crevice. This was perhaps one of the worst haircuts I have ever received considering how much information I relayed beforehand. Then she said, to top it off, "Next time, you should ask for nothing but scissors". At least the color job was okay, but still sub par. That was $48 wasted.

I was all smiles. Seriously, what could I do? Any scene would have brought the police.. You say, but its only a hair cut? This is so screwed up I will have to get my hair recolored in 6 weeks when I get a corrective hair cut somewhere else, when I usually wait 4 months to color because it's so damn expensive. You say, but why? You have to keep in mind this lady clipped the hair around my sides and back all the way down to a 2. It will look ridiculous in 6 weeks, but I have to let my hair grow out. So yeah, I did waste $48. I can only hope that lady gets what is coming to her in the most unpleasant way possible and not too soon. She deliberately screwed me out of $48, but it's not just the money. It's the fact that she deliberately did the worst she could possibly do. She wasted 6 weeks of my life, perhaps longer and probably got a perverse feeling out of knowing that her incompetent hair cut would do just that. So I want more than $48, and I want more than just her job.

I may go back there to get my hair colored because they are a little reasonable in price compared to some places, but I am done getting my hair cut at Supercuts completely. I had gotten a couple of half bad haircuts there before, but this was the worst experience I have ever had there.

Well, the experiences people are explaining here are horrible and I've never seen anyone act so unprofessional. In fact, it's almost a little hard to believe. I worked for a sister company and if we ever did something like that (talked to our customer in that way) we would be fired on the spot. Though i must say you (the original poster) sound uptight and irritated even before the haircut was not to your liking, honestly, who cares if she asks you to remind her what you like where. I've asked at the beginning and then again about each area of the head just to make sure Im Giving the client what they wanted. Would you rather she not say anything and wing it? Haircuts are not as easy as you think and require precision. focusing on one area of a time can help and you have to remember that girl could have done 15 other people today. Your not her regular and after working long hours for days on end bob becomes rick who becomes billy you are bob you dont want what billy asked for on top for example maybe he likes the front a little longer and you Don't. It's better to just ask. In addition, when she said how high since you were a man I'm assuming you had some type of clipper cut with scissors. My most common guy hair cut is #2 on the sides finger length on top. With a cut like that how high means how far up do you want them to go with the clipper cut to go before using scissors, not how short. That shouldn't have been something to be upset about. However, as far as the haircuts go, what people need to understand is that working at a place like supercuts the reason a haircut is cheap is that these are poorly paid people who usually just got out of school (not all and I was an exception) but in school you don't learn every cut possible someone could want especially as times and styles change rapidly. They offer classes from time to time and it definitely helps but again it couldn't possibly teach you everything. You as the person in the chair might be her first time doing the cut And that's something everyone needs to understand, and again that's why you pay 15 bucks for a haircut. One way to get a better haircut is to not go in with a specific idea.ok maybe you like your hair long or maybe short but you could try asking what the stylist recommends. It works almost like a polite way of saying what do you think will look good that you are comfortable cutting. This because it's extremely likely that the stylist will recommend something they have done several times and is comfortable with. If you give them room to play they probably won't do something they're scared to try on you. They will do it on a head first later. One great way to get a bad hair cut is to make a stylist do something they really recommend against there are two usual reasons they recommend against it to come to mind to me. 1st it's simply not possible for example getting a color and going from black to bleach blonde without frying your hair off, or 2nd the stylist is uncomfortable doing it.

I just got butchered at the Super cuts in Buffalo NY on Elmwood Avenue. I went in with a picture of a classic Louise Brooks bob. My hair was a little past my chin when I sat down, everything started well- I was almost finished. I mentioned that the bottom right side of my hair was a bit bulkier than the left, so I asked if she could please take a little bulk off the bottom so that it would match the left. She said she could point cut it- then she starts hacking into the right side.Cut a front chunk of long hair in half, so that it fell right beneath my eye, then hacked the length, made the right side pieces all wispy. It looks like I have 2 different haircuts, . I finally said " Stop Cutting" she was just going to keep going. She said she could cut the left to match the right. I was like "NO"I don't remember saying that I wanted some wispy choppy thing, as the picture was right there in front of her. She made a point of showing me the back of my hair and how good it looked. I saw the right side of my hair and said " What Happened?" a couple times, as I saw where I had lost a chunk of hair- she said, that side just needs to grow in a bit so it will blend...?HORRIBLE. I should have known better than to go there, now I have a jacked up haircut, and the girl was oblivious to the damage she had done. There were 2 kid's in there waiting for their mom, and they were saying how much they liked my hair- and I'm thinking these kids must be high- because my hair is trashed. All in the last 2 minutes of the cut. If you have something specific in mind, tread carefully. It is your hair. Think twice before you entrust it to these butchers. Absolutely horrendous, I don't know what I was thinking. This was about 2 days ago, and am really thinking I should call the manager, if for nothing else than the principal of the thing, as I don't want anyone there FIXING my hair.

Just had my first and last bad experience at Supercuts here in Victorville, California at the Dunia Plaza. Unbelievable, I never thought that this would happen to me. I specifically showed the stylist, two pictures of the style I wanted in addition to this giant 2 foot by 4 foot poster board with the same style. Her comments were "oh, no problem" Little did I now how much of a problem this was going to be. The style i was asking for is a common style as shown in the photograph which I have been getting for the past 5 years at various places. I figured all was ok, since I practiced drive thru communication, meaning a very specific set of instruction, similar to when order your food at the drive thru... "I want no onions, and no pickles" and they repeat, "ok, so you want a cheese burger with no onion and no pickles is that correct" and I confirm and wala my order is done!
Before the stylist began to cut she asked me what size guard on the clippers to use? I answered "I do not know but can you gauge by the pictures and poster board i showed you, or better yet can you ask your co-workers if your not sure". She replied and said, Ok, I know. So whats the verdict? Well lets just say that what I ended up with was a buzz cut as if I had just entered boot camp! No kidding the length of the sides of my head were no more than 7mm, no joke I measured. What upset me the most is how she tried to play off by saying that i looked just like the poster board. I gathered all the stylist and other guest to tell me if it looked like the poster board and thankfully people were honest and said my cut was far from it! To say the least, did not pay for what i did not ask for. Now all i can do is allow time to cover the mistake. One thing for sure, I will never go to a Supercuts again! From reading all these posts, I am convinced that Supercuts hires people without the proper job analysis that do not support the company's strategic goals. In order to grow and an maintain your business, you must employ the right people with the right skills. Without the proper job analysis you end up with my situation! A very dissatisfied customer that will seek services else where.

If they kids had a shampoo and/or style that's what the extra charge was for. Your kids learned a valuable lesson that day. Nothing is free. Supercuts did you a favor.

They barked at me for my name, refused to do the cut I wanted (because it would "look stupid, why don't you just do what I have?"), and then the manager came up when she was blow-drying my hair and said "Oh no, you're not blow-drying that customer's hair. You don't have the time for that." And with that, I was sent up to pay, with the wrong haircut and wet hair. This was my first time at Greatcuts, and I haven't been back since. I just cut my own hair these days, it seems like people either want you to pay $55 for a damn trim or you go into a place like this, where haircuts are $15, and you get service that's worse than crap.
