Buying tickets with limited sightline
Tickets for sale are listed with row only and no seat assignments until you buy them and then only when they are sent do you see seat assignments. I bought tickets that were on a nice row but I received tickets and saw seat assignments; they were limited sight seats where you can see maybe a little more than half of stage. Never would’ve purchased them if I had known the seat assignments before purchasing. Will not purchase from there again unless they list row AND seat.
Desired outcome: Policy change
Stubhub is a fraud website - do not sell tickets on stubhub
I accidentally purchased tickets for the wrong day for an event from SeatGeek (much better website, by the way). There is still time before the event, so I decide to list the tickets on StubHub as well for the best profit possible.
I list the tickets and they sell, StubHub claims I’ll get a payment of $99 shortly. They give me the email of the buyer, and I use SeatGeek transfer to send the tickets to the buyer.
The buyer accepts the transfer, and after the event, I get a message from SeatGeek saying the buyer has reported that the tickets were not delivered.
So, I lost tickets for the event and got no money in return.
It gets worse: the next day, I get another email from SeatGeek saying “Your sale has incurred a charge.”
“
A charge has been applied on the following order. The charge has been applied to your credit or debit card in your StubHub account. If the charge doesn't go through, we'll place a credit memo on your account and the amount will be withdrawn from future payments.”
There isn’t a single way for me to contact support and report buyer fraud. There is nothing in any of the emails that connect me with support, because this type of thing clearly happens often and support doesn’t want to deal with it.
A $99 charge is placed on my card. So, the original sale that was supposed to earn me $99 instead make me LOSE $99. Unless you want to lose the ticket you list while ALSO paying the price you list, DO NOT SELL ANYTHING ON STUBHUB!
Desired outcome: StubHub needs to add a way to counter buyer complaints and refund me the $99 charge. To make this completely right, they also should give me credit for the ticket I lost to a fraudulent purchase, which would be another $99.
I had the exact same issue. Stubhub claims they sent email for sold tickets. I didn’t get email and tickets were no longer available. They charged me $288 for not delivering.
I’m going to cancel my account and go to a reputable company to sell tickets and one that won’t steal my money.
Selling/electronic delivery issue; tickets stolen by stubhub
I am owed $403.20. My tickets were automatically uploaded and listed for instant electronic delivery through MyMets Tickets Season ticket holder account. The tickets were for Washington Nationals at New York Mets on Tuesday 10/4/2022 at 1910; Section 119, Row 7, Seats 1, 2. I received an email confirming the sale for my payout of $403.20 on 9/30/2022. I also got an email from StubHub confirming the sale and that the tickets were delivered on 9/30/2022 at 0750. This process has been seamless on many other games throughout the whole season, including games days before this game and a game a day after.
However the day of the event, I received an email from StubHub saying that my order was refunded to the buyer and that I will incur a giant fee with no explanation. I call StubHub and I was told that the tickets never were delivered, therefore the buyer was refunded, and they will do me a favor and waive the giant fee, up to the amount of the order, I should have been responsible for. This is a bogus claim because I already received confirmation days before this that my tickets were instantly delivered like they always are.
I explained this to the customer service representative, and that this is not an issue on the Mets end, as my tickets are gone from my account and coded as “sold on StubHub”, and that this must be StubHub’s fault and that I now have no way to get my money back for the tickets. All the representative told me was that he was doing me a favor by not charging me the fee and that he could not see why the tickets were allowed to be refunded or where the tickets went. I asked to be contacted by a supervisor and he said they would pass this along to a supervisor and it may take a few months to process my request. He also told me that although he does not know where my tickets went, that my tickets would be instantly returned to me so I would be able to resell them. This never happened, as my tickets in my season ticket holder account still showed “sold on StubHub”. I also was never contacted back by anybody, especially a supervisor, and this was almost 4 months ago. I am not sure what my options are besides arbitration, but I feel severely ripped off and taken advantage of and the customer service is absolutely no help. It takes hours to speak to anyone who can help and they really do not listen properly in order to understand your situation and after all that, they tell you there is nothing they can do to help and make false promises that a supervisor will contact me back. I also have no choice but to use StubHub for my resale needs.
Desired outcome: I want to be paid $403.20, plus interest and for my time and suffering.
Selling tickets on stubhub
First of all. I have little to no experience selling tickets on stubhub. I went to sell my NCAA national championship tickets on the app. I could no longer attend the event and bought the tickets through Ticket Master.
Listed my tickets on the stubhub app. Never received any confirmation that they were posted. Even went as far as checking their website to see them not posted. So after awhile and checking the app they were listed no where to be found. I decided to try listing them again. Listed them on the 27th of December 2022. Received a confirmation email and then on the same day received the sale confirmation. I was not clear on how to transfer the tickets and what the guarantee was so I called customer service the same day to walk me through it. Received confirmation emails that the tickets were transferred correctly. Called again on the 28th to find out when I would be paid for the tickets. I was told 5-8 days after the event. So I waited. 5-8 days after the event no payment on the tickets. I called again to make sure everything was good then had to set preferences of payment and tax number and so on.
Fast forward to now we are 14 days after the event and no payment. Called customer service and the rep did not understand why I haven't been paid. They escalated it to payment processing. I received no resolution. Called the next day. Then was told I would not be receiving any money because I did not deliver the tickets from my first post (that I didn't know was out there). I got frustrated and called back two days later. First rep offered me 20% of my sale value and then I asked to speak to a supervisor. I then spoke to a supervisor and he stated nothing could be done and the 20% was no longer valid. I asked to escalate the issue or dispute and I was told that there is nothing to dispute its my problem. I got irritated at the response and they hung up on me.
Desired outcome: I just want the money I am owed.
Unlawful request to receive payment for sold tickets!
On Saturday October 8, 2022 I sold a pair of tickets to Six The Musical. The amount I am owed is $358.20. After a week past the event, I received an email that I needed to provide a tax ID number. I called customer service to inform them that I did not sell $600 or more in 2022 and that regulation did not apply to me. I further explained that I did not feel comfortable posting my SS# on- line. I was told that they would escalate my case to payment processing to get the issue resolved. Henceforth, it is now over 3.5 months later with more than eight phone calls to customer service, and I had been told several times that the payment is being processed and will be in my account within two weeks, which has never happened. Additionally, I have had conversations with customer service managers after the IRS ruled that they had delayed the $600 threshold for reporting 1099-K forms. Furthermore, it states on StubHub's website that "Beginning January 1, 2022, the IRS has updated its 1099-K regulations to require all businesses that process payments to file a 1099-K for all sellers with More than $600 in gross sales in a calendar year." Not only is StubHub's payment processing not abiding by the IRS regulations, but they are also disregarding their own policy that was posted before I sold the tickets. They are arbitrarily changing their requirements after the transaction and will not send the money owed.
Desired outcome: I want to be paid the money I am owed.
Sold tickets that don’t exist
I purchased tickets 11/15/22 order #[protected] for Taylor Swift at Soldier field 6/3/23. Tickets are for “LOWER LEVEL”. Cost $1604.45
Spoke to BOTH Soldier Field AND STUBHUB and found out the map used to purchase tickets was incorrect. There is NO LOWER LEVEL. The map showed the sections on the field ALL as lower level, but they actually have a letter assigned to them. I called and asked exactly where my tickets were located as “lower level” doesn’t exist - and they said they would escalate it to the executive level and provide me with my tickets. They haven’t done anything. I have repeatedly called and requested a refund due to their mistake and lack of response. They are refusing to do anything EXCEPT ask me to wait until THE DAY BEFORE THE CONCERT TO FIND OUT IF/WHERE I HAVE TICKETS. They have since corrected their map! I want a refund due to their error and fraud
Desired outcome: Refund
Fake Tickets, Horrible, Non-Existent Customer Service
Can i give zero stars? Can I state that I'll spend the rest of my life telling anybody I meet that StubHub's customer experience compares to hanging out in a back alley preparing to get mugged? While they may claim to be a lot of things and may be a well funded organization, the end effect of this lousy company and even worse "business model" is scam, pure and simple. I spent nearly $3000 on a ticket that was fake and I only found out at the venue. DId this joke of a junk sale offer an apology or explanation? No. Did they give me a full refund? No. My experience with this company left me completely speechless, for all intents and purposes, you may as well be dealing with con-men in a backroom operation somewhere. Buyer beware - In my experience, they're scam artists and recklessly facilitate fraud for profit. That's precisely what they did to me. Inexecusable, unless of course StubHub truly seeks to be a haven for fraud, deceit and criminal activity.
Unauthorized credit card charge
OrderID #[protected]
I originally listed 4 tickets for sell. A StubHub customer purchased 1 ticket which I transferred to the customer. The customer didn't claim the ticket so I cancelled the transaction. A StubHub employee via phone assisted in returning the ticket to my account. The 4 tickets were then sold to 2 customers. A StubHub employee again assisted via phone with the ticket transfer to the second customer-this transaction included the original 1 ticket sold then transferred back to me. StubHub employees were very helpful in returning the original ticket to me and forwarding it to the second customer however at no time was there mention that if we proceeded we owed the first customer a ticket. I disagree with my credit card account being charged for the 1 ticket to the first customer. There were still plenty of comparable tickets available that the customer could have purchased without me having to pay for it.
Desired outcome: I request a $445.50 refund to my credit card.
Parking pass
I purchased a parking ticket for the suns game against the Miami Heat that was being played on Friday, January 6. The parking pass I purchased, and the confirmation I received via email, which I am happy to share if needed, says that it is for “Footprint Center Parking Lots”. The section specifically reads “Footprint Center Garage”. Despite the hassle of having to wait and confirm purchases on StubHub, and the nonrefundable nature of them, I printed the parking pass, which was a requirement. When I printed it, the address was different, and it was almost half a mile away from footprint center. One of the people I am traveling with his handicapped and one is a young child. Total bait and switch from Stun Hub.
Desired outcome: Full refund and parking tonight where I was promised it would be. I know at this point the latter is not possible.
Unable to get tickets from stub hub
Bought 2 hockey tickets from Hockey. Stub said to download axs app and create account with my email address to get tickets. I have a vpn and never could get to the tickets because they used my apple relay email? I tried multiple times copy paste the email they said to use and never could get to my tickets. I bought the tickets nov20 and it’s now jan6,the game is Feb18, room booked, plane tickets bought, called multiple times. Finally filed complaint with pay pal but they refused because stub hub said the tickets had been delivered. Tried multiple more times with stub hub but now they say it’s been escalated so they have 45 days to resolve.
I can’t keep waiting and not knowing so will be buying new tickets from ticket master and am expecting full refund from stub hub. We planned our trip to Vegas accordingly to when we could go to this game and feel that I shouldn’t have to keep begging to get the tickets I’ve paid for
Desired outcome: Full Refund
misleading info
Hello,
I recently listed 2 tickets on StubHub, do not split. Stubhub sold one ticket and then sent me the attached email that makes 5 references to tickets - plural. So I transfer the tickets. - 2 tickets. I attended the event, both seats were used. I emailed StubHub they said tough luck, I spoke to a supervisor who said tough luck and hung up on me.
order no.

Desired outcome: 1) Recognize your mistake in this email2) Provide a discount on future transactions to compensate me for my loss.3) Change the email to not mislead future sellers
Order #[protected] - tickets to Chris Botti, Wednesday, December 21,2022 22:30, Blue Note Jazz Club
Dear sirs,
we have not been admitted to the show at 22:30 in Blue note with the tickets you sold me. Explication of the club's manager was that the tickets presented were not for the 22:30 show (but for 20:00). I had to pay once more for the tickets to attend the show.
I'm very upset. Coming 7000 miles from Europe, paying 488,80 USD for the invalid tickets plus 110 USD for the entrance, it was not what I have been expected. Please refund my money to my account to which you have charged.
Kind regards,
Rimas Butkevicius

Failure to supply tickets ordered
Spread the word, there are other ticket sale companies much more competent then Stub Hub.
I purchased Mets Spring Training tickets for section 8. I received a confirmation that section 8 tickets were purchased.
I received a second email stating my tickets were for section 105.
I have been in contact with Stub Hub four times over the last two months. Each time I was told it would be resolved with 24-48 hours. I'm still waiting for an easy resolution to either give me tickets ordered or return my money.

First time user
I listed tickets on StubHub a few weeks ago. I was using my husband's account which he had never even used. He had created the account years ago. I am a first-time user. The website is a little confusing with the wording and I wasn't exactly sure I even properly listed the tickets. In the meantime, I'm going on with my life, work, kids, etc. Fast forward a few weeks and my husband gets an email (12/14/22) that the order was canceled and I was being charged $900 for the price all three tickets. They said someone had tried to buy the tickets and we didn't deliver the tickets to the buyer before the order was cancelled and they had to charge me $900. I never received an email from StubHub letting me know the tickets had been sold so I had no idea. Like I said, I was a first-time user and wasn't even sure I listed the tickets properly and then I went on with my life and didn't check the site again. I begged and pleaded with them to remedy this situation instead of charging me $900 for NOTHING. $900 for nothing! This is a SCAM. I finally got someone to agree to only charge me half of the $900, but I still haven't seen the $450 refund on my card. The only charge I have is $900. I want all of my money back, not just 50%. This is not acceptable to do businesd this way. if they can send an email stating they are charging my credit card, why didn't I get an email about my ticket order? I got nothing about the transaction.
Desired outcome: I would like my credit card refunded the entire amount of $900.
NHL tickets
Tried buying tickets multiple times with multiple cards. Every time the card was accepted, then 5 minutes later received an email saying sale was cancelled. Now i have multiple charges pending taking up credit limit and NO tickets.
Desired outcome: make sure none of my charges go through and cancel any pending charges. Also fix your [censored]ing website.
Seller listed tickets in the wrong section
I am one of the millions of moms that tried to get taylor swift tickets for my daughter during the ticketmaster presale dumpster fire. Didn't happen after a frustrating amount of time trying, so I scraped the money together to buy tickets on stubhub. I spent hours trying to find the right show, at the right time, at the right price. Thought I found the exact perfect seats this morning after clicking the seat map, pulling up photos of the venue and studying the location. I happily purchased and was feeling like I won the mom-version of the world cup. A few hours later, the seller sent me the tickets and they were in a different section behind the stage. There is no way I would have spent that much money to sit behind the stage. So incredibly bummed. I called customer service and they gave me the instructions to return the tickets to sh. I have done that and now I am waiting to hear from the replacement team. Any chance i'll hear by christmas? I really wanted to give these tickets to my daughter for her present. I am disappointed and starting to worry i've lost an insane amount of money. Too much to hope for a christmas miracle of tswift tickets?
Desired outcome: I really want to receive confirmation that we have seats comparable to what I purchased (but did not receive...). Please, Santa! All we want for Christmas is our Taylor Swift tickets! Thank you
Selling - error with delivering barcodes on stubhub's end.
I'm an active seller with Stubhub. ever since they went through a software update they "call it" last summer I've had nothing but issues. 4 weeks ago I listed my season seats for MLB next year. on all 81 orders I indicated that I will deliver the barcodes a few days before the event. For one I don't have barcodes until the MLB team releases them to me until a few weeks before opening week, so I cant deliver what I don't have and this is why I said I would deliver them this way. After several sales since I listed a few weeks ago I noticed that in the confirmations it said "now is the time to load your barcodes" I thought this is unusual, I indicated that they would be delivered when I have them next spring and no later than 2 days before the event. A few days after that I get an email that one of my sales is cancelled with no explanation why. 2 days after that I get a call from Stubhub, sir we would like to know when your going to upload the barcodes for the event taking place Aug 2023, we have the buyer on the other line. I explained to him, on all listings I would deliver the barcodes when the team provides them to me and no later than 2 days before the event. All my listings over all these years have been inputted the same. The representative from Stubhub, then out of nowhere hung up on me. At this point I was very dissatisfied. I have delivered thousands in commissions to this company over the years and they are asking of something that I cannot do and they hung up on me. I immediately then call Stubhub back, this time I get someone very nice, I explain the situation, he is sympathetic and apologizes for the other rep hanging up on me. He said he would take care of everything and because it was not my fault I wouldn't be charged, "great" as I should' be. Today I get an email, the same order number that I will be charged for not delivering the barcodes in time for an event 8 months from now. I call, the rep that I spoke with said he sees no notes regarding this. He said "I have to get this escalated, look into it further. certainly you can, your calls are recorded. I even explained, hey I can still sell these tickets to the buyer. Your the ones that cost me the sale in the first place now your going to charge me? He then asked if I could call in 48 hours to figure out the solution they have come with. I asked why do I need to call? your first tell me I'm not being charged for a mistake on your end, you cost me a sale, today I get an email that I will be charged, and the icing on the cake your going to inconvienence me to call back once again for your mistake?
Yes sir, we will not call you, its up to you to follow up. I personally work in customer service, have been for 20 years, and this company has the worst I have ever experienced.
Tickets never received
I ordered 2 tickets for a concert scheduled for December 10th on November 1st. StubHub’s confirmation email to me said the seller will transfer the tickets on November 2nd. I get an email the same day (Nov. 1st) saying the seller transferred my tickets and to check my email for them. I looked through every folder in my email (I only have 5 folders) and saw no email from a seller regarding tickets. Called StubHub and they walked me through searching each folder for keywords; like I’m some idiot who is new to email. They said they will escalate the issue for resolution. A week goes by and I get this email from StubHub:
“ We are contacting you regarding your order# ********* for Straight No Chaser on 10 December 2022.
We’re following up about your Mobile transfer tickets. We’ve contacted your seller, and our dedicated team is working on getting your tickets retransferred. You can expect an email from us when we have successfully re-transferred the tickets to you.
We’re sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. We’re here to make sure you get your tickets in time for the event!”
I’ve called 4 times since then and have got the same response, it’s been escalated and they are working on it. I called again two days ago asking for a supervisor. Was told they will put a note in the system and a supervisor will call me back before the end of the day. Never received a call. This has been the worst experience for ticket purchasing. The only time I’ve used StubHub. I normally use SeatGeek. Now I know why.
Below are screenshots of my order on the app. First one has the button for “Get Tickets” and the second one is where it takes me. No tickets anywhere to be found.
Desired outcome: I want my tickets. If they can’t provide them, then I want the full amount refunded to my card. I don’t have a use for a credit as I will never use StubHub again.
Beware!!
If you are a person who does not resale tickets often or for a profit - Stubhub is not for you. There a lot of hidden cost and rules. You are 100% responsible for knowing all the fine print. Stubhub posted my tickets for an event that was canceled (I had these tickets posted). I had the orginal tickets posted but did npt realize when the event was reschedule - Stubhub would repost the new date without my knowledge. The new tickets sold (which I never posteds) for the new date - which I could go to - and I could not give up because my 15 year old would be so upset. Bottom line they are charging me $607.50 for tickets that I never posted. Of course somewhere in small print is a statement that if a concert is rescheduled - they will repost the tickets - without notifiying the seller. If you do not sell tickets often - use a different business. These people are awful - customer service is awful - the reps and better than the management. They will send your dispute to collections and lock you out of your account. Unless you sell tickets as a business do not use StubHub. Not seller friendly!
Desired outcome: Not to be charged $607.50 for tickets that I never listed.
