Straight Talk Wireless SIM card

The new SIM card sent to me does not work and now the old one will not work. I called the instructions with the new SIM card and the several people I was transferred to were extremely condescending. After all of that she said my phone was not compatible. Straighttalk told me it was and that is why they sent it to me. Even now I go online to buy plans for the month and on every phone is keeps asking if I want the new SIMS for all the phones and how so amazing it is. I have many phones through straighttalk. So I hung up because they cannot think past their script and called straight talk...after another half hour with them, the lady says she will find a tech so they can fix it or put me back to my old SIM card, which I said would be wonderful. I waited so long and I also explained what the other lady said and she insisted they could help. After about 7 apologies and thanks for waiting she says she has someone to help and will transfer me...it sends me to voicemail saying it is out of their business hours...well, yes, because I have been trying to fix it for over hour and a half...and now, i do not have a working phone, at all. They experience is horrible and I want nothing to do with this new SIM card and just want my phone working again. What horrible advertising and forcing the 'free' new wonderful verizon SIM card on me. I am happy I did not order for all of our other phones we have with straighttalk. This happened today 6/29/22 starting 9:13pm central time. and it is now 11pm. I received many reminders to get the SIM transfer before July 5th so I felt pressured and regret doing any of this. Please help me reverse and end this so I have a phone...I am only half way through my month service too.

Desired outcome: I want the old SIM reactivated and the new SIM deactivated and do not want any more offers.

Straight Talk Wireless Phone service

I have had service with Straight Talk wireless for over 10 years, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND Them to anyone. I have been without a phone for 2 weeks because they "updated" their system. They sent me a new sim card and said that I needed to install it and their system would no longer support my old sim. Well that was two weeks ago, probably 60 calls to them, and I still have no phone service. They tell me that my phone is no longer compatible with their system! REALLY? So I decided to fire them and hire another carrier, put in a request to port my number. That didn't work, my new carrier said that the zip code was incorrect and ST needed to correct it on their end. That was a joke, after 10 calls just to get the zip code corrected, they would just hang up on me, and never corrected it. Then I call back and they say that I no longer have an account with them. REALLY? They deleted my account, and now they can't get into the account to release my phone number that I have had for 15 years! SO they basically stole my number, forcing me to get another number. Now I have to go through all of this hassle because they are the most incompetent useless people to deal with! And they caused all of these problems, and I get to suffer! I WILL NEVER USE STRAIGHT TALK AGAIN!

Just the hassle of dealing with these incompetent people 5-10 times a day for 2 weeks, and the trouble of having to try to find anyone who needs my number and sending them my new number. Getting a new carrier when I was paid up with them for 2 more weeks. A lot of my valuable time and patience!

Desired outcome: They are the sorriest company I've ever dealt with. Who argues with a customer?? I would like to see them pay for their abuse of customers. I would also like to be paid for my time and abuse of dealing with these idiots.

Straight Talk Wireless Being forced to buy another phone to continue my service.

My monthly renewal date was 5/22/22 . I called this morning to purchase another month card and they would not process my request . I was told my 4 month LG Stylo 5 was not usable anymore and would have to get another phone to continue service . I was transferred to sales and after researching I found the same phone I have for sale and agreed to purchase another LG Stylo 5 . With fees and one day delivery I paid $111.00.Then they tried to buy my supposed 4 month old LG Stylo 5 . I want my service restored and a refund of the charges for replacing the same phone.

Straight Talk Wireless Phone and customer service

I have been a customer for over two years. I decided to upgrade my phone and I bought one through the website. After less than a month, the phone screen started to glitch. In order to try and fix it, I did a hard reset. The next day the entire screen just went black. There was no damage to the phone, the phone itself was still working because I could still use it with Bluetooth. I contacted customer service and went back and forth with them for about 2 weeks. First, they told me to charge it for 8 hours, then 24 hours, then I needed to contact the finance company but the finance company told me to go back to them. Finally, I was able to find someone to help me and she sent me a shipping label to send the defective phone back. I recieved the shipping label and sent my phone back. After a few weeks, I started contacting the company again. They kept telling me that the phone had not been sent back. I located the shipping # and when I looked it up, the package had been delivered. When I started calling again my phone had been there for three weeks. I have been calling and messaging and no one has been able to help me. They have logged all of my information and calls but it has not done anything. Now, when the schedule a call back, no one calls me back. When they transfer me to the warehouse, the call is dropped. I had to purchase a cheaper phone from Walmart just so I wouldn't be completely without a phone for over a month. There has been no resolution and I am currently paying for a phone that is sitting in the warehouse that no one knows about and they have yet to send me a replacement. Frustrated is an understatement.

Straight Talk Wireless Sales tax overcharge on online phone card services.

Live in WI and sales tax is 5.5%. On checkout on Straight Talk wireless website when purchasing phone refill card, the dropdown arrow on taxes says zip code is 33178 which is Florida which is 7%. This is the statement fine print on the Straight Talk website:

"1 Tax: The tax and service charge amounts are estimated based on the home area for your phone. If your billing address is in a different city and ZIP Code, the actual taxes and service charges will be based on your billing address information, so the amounts may vary from the original estimate."

Customer service says when we bought our Straight Talk phone, the phone number was set up with zip code 33178 and if we want to change the zip code to 53805 then we have to change our phone number. They refused to give us a refund for sales tax overcharge so everyone go check your account. We will no longer purchase online, we will go to Walmart to get phone refill cards to pay our correct sales tax from now on.

Desired outcome: Refund of $10.29, which is what we overpaid on 6 previous transactions. And stop hiding stuff from consumers.

Straight Talk Wireless Porting a phone from us cellular 8 days later

I'm absolutely livid with Straight talk, from every representative that has lied to me, hung up on me. I'm on day 8 and still receiving the same lies. Quit passing the buck and do your job. I have paid 8 days ago for my phone service and youll sure did'nt have a problem accepting my payment without providing services.

I'm also a work at home agent and when you ask to escalate the call, you never put a customer in a 30 minute que back to a regular representative. I don't understand most of what the representatives are even saying, do we no longer have fluent speaking American's answering the phones anymore. I'm over hearing chickens and roosters in the background. I believe all my calls are routed outside of the USA. Shame on Straight Talk for not resolving the issue at hand.

Desired outcome: My phone to be ported as promised 8 days ago, CSR'S need better phone etic and no language barrier. Quit passing the buck and do as you have promised

Straight Talk Wireless Charged but no service provided

I purchased a plan for more minutes on a phone that we got for our kids to use occasionally. Getting someone to add a plan, take my card info, and charge my credit card was pretty easy. After that the phone would never work. I spent over 3 hours on the phone with multiple representatives that would just give me the run around. When I got someone that I thought was finally helping, the call disconnected after 47 minutes in with no resolution. When I called back, it was more run around and issues. I tried to get a refund and end it, but that let to more transfers, waiting for callbacks, and people that could not or would not help. The whole system is just set up to get customers to give up and move on. I have no idea how this company remains in business.

Desired outcome: Refund

Straight Talk Wireless Straight talk replacement phone

My name is Joseph D. Coley. my address is 1605 Clinton Drive, Dublin, Georgia 31021. My complaint is that i had a defective straight talk phone. I no longer have that phone because i were told by straight talk to mail the defective phone to your company, which i did so on 5/25/2022. I then called straight talk and was told that your company received my defective phone on 5/27/2022. I've spoken too twelve different employees about that particular phone, and have yet to receive my replacement phone. Everyone that i have talked with about this problem refer me to someone else. I purchased that phone through Walmart Dept. store here in Dublin, Georgia. At present i don't have a phone. All of my personal information is on that phone. Would appreciate a prompt reply.

Exact same issue as I have right now. They received my defective device Oct 4 2022 and I was told by numerous reps it would be 3-5 business days. It is now Dec 1 2022 and still no replacement device or any reason to expect one. I call every day for information on it and all 23 reps I've spoken to say the same thing, 3-5 business days. I'm in touch with legal counsel about the situation.

Straight Talk Wireless Phone service/ Customer Service

In mid March of this year, I purchased the straight talk 45 plan from walmart and wanted to install along with keeping my current number which was not owned by any company. My phone has never been owned by any company. The set up was a struggle but it was set up initially with my phone number I wanted. SOMETIME in LATE MARCH OR APRIL THEY CHANGED MY NUMBER AND DID NOT NOTIFY ME! AFTER A WEEK OF MISSED WORK TEXT AND CALLS I FINALLY REALIZED MY NUMBER WAS CHANGED WITHOUT PERMISSION! I have called and was hung up on by a supervisor after waiting for over an hour, I have contacted chat who is completely incompetent and a WASTE OF TIME! THEY ARE PHENOMINALLY, EXCRUTIATINGLY HORRIBLE! NO, still NOT RESOLVED!

Desired outcome: My number I requested reactivated on my phone along with compensation for time in which no one could reach me!!!!

Straight Talk Wireless Lack of information from people answering customer service calls.

6/7/2022

Have been a straight talk customer for many years; have never had a problem.

Pay by autopay monthly with husband's credit card for 2 lines. Bill was 35.01 a month per line. Per web site, plan is $34/month with autopay.

Hubby's credit card acct closed by bank due to fraudulent activity 5/19/2022, we did NOT receive his replacement credit card until recently.

I called Straight Talk on customer contact line and explained the situation. I gave the representative my credit card number for payment on both accounts/lines per autopay. End date of service 6/4/2022. All we did was change the credit card numbers for payment, no change in services.

On 6/4/2022, my husband's phone not working. He had no access. 6/5/2022, Straight Talk agent said that autopay was charged for my phone line only but not my husband's. His phone was added back to my card with autopay. New fee $37.16. I asked why increase and I was informed that my card was declined for payment and the $3.16 was for declined card? Then agent changed her mind and said it was for taxes? My card was never declined, my husband's card was declined but I gave the company plenty of notice for the billing change to our Straight Talk account and the rationale. They won't show or tell copies of bills so I have no idea why the bill went up. It was a nominal fee. However, we are retirees on a fixed income. We had received no notice that our monthly rate was being increased. The representative would not let me speak with her supervisor for clarification. She did say we had unlimited talk, text and data. All agents were nice and very polite but could not answer my question regarding the rate increase.

R/ KJP Niceville FL

Desired outcome: I would like someone from Straight Talk to give us a logical explanation why our monthly rate was increased. Or please resume our rate at $35.01 per line/month as it has been for years. Thank you.

I decided to buy a high-end phone from straight talk. I have had their service with no real issue for 2 years now. After less than a month, the screen started to glitch. In order to try to fix it I did a hard reset. This ended in the screen just going black. The phone itself was fine, no damage at all, just the screen was black. I could still make phone calls with a blue tooth device. After giving me the run around for days (charge the phone for 8 hours, no 24 hours, did you try to turn it off and on, a reset, contact the financing company, you do not have a replacement plan...) they finally sent me a shipping label to return the defective phone. According to the tracking information, the phone was delivered back to the warehouse on the 20th of last month, almost a month ago. Customer service has been unable to help me even though I have spent countless hours contacting them. Now, every time they transfer me to the warehouse, which is supposed to have answers about why it says that I never sent the defective phone, the phone gets disconnected. I would not recommend anyone buy a phone through them, especially not a more expensive one. I had better luck with the one that was 5 times cheaper from Walmart then this new one.

Straight Talk Wireless Service area

I have had my service for 10+ years with straight talk and have always praised the cell service. For some reason ever since the new year I have terrible reception and constantly am roaming. Drop calls or can't get them all the time. I can't even use my phone at work without wifi anymore and I used to have full bars

Desired outcome: Fix the roaming

Straight Talk Wireless Straight talk wireless SIM BYOD option

Bought a straight talk wireless at Walmart.

They recommended it for unlocked phones.

We failed to activate it, we tried all 3 Sims on 5 phones. Even a brand new Samsung A53 they sell online.

All phones are nog supported!?!?

Activation via the annoying bots (I HATE chat bots) failed: the SIM numbers are not owned by straight talk!?

There's no way to break through the chatbot wall. Calling them is impossible: you need a working SIM card for that!

Desired outcome: Refund of 35 bucks and an apology for wasting 2 days trying to activate these fake SIM cards.

I had service on a straight talk phone and I ordered an unlocked phone directly through a company not affiliated with straight talk. I popped the SIM in my new phone and was using it for 2.5 months. I had better reception , faster speeds and a much better device for just under $209. Then one day I couldn't get a signal and I chatted on line with a rep who tolde that all need to do is get a new SIM card for it and activate it and I'll be set. So I ordered a SIM card and tried to activate it and they told me they can't activate unlocked phones?!? They tried saying it wasn't compatible after I was using it for 2 monthz! I asked why I was told to get a new SIM and activate it if it wasn't compatible? Same phone, same emi number? No explanation, all they did was found out my dim was being used in a non straight talk phone and blocked my device from getting a signal. They won't allow ayulocked devices on their network y was globally unlocked and I use it for 6 months on their att network up till they changed over to Verizon only. It's just s scam to get people to buy a SIM kit for a bunch of money and never get to use it. Then they block your phone so you can't just swap out a SIM from one of their junk phones

Straight Talk Wireless phone theft, says my number isn`t in their system after 10yrs of service with them!

Straight Talk:

Thank you for visiting Straight Talk today. How may I help you?

Straight Talk:

Thank you for contacting StraightTalk. Our hours of operation are Monday-Sunday 8am to 11:45pm. If you receive this message during normal operation hours, our chat agents are helping other customers. Your position is 29 in the queue.

This could get long... Hopefully you can help me out. I had my phone stolen, so I needed another sim card to put in another phone I have. I bought a sim online through straight talk on Sunday, I received it today, I put it in the phone and called [protected] they couldn`t get it to work and told me to buy a T-mobile sim and call back at [protected] and give them the number 332264. He tried to get the T-mobile sim to work but it kept throwing a error. so he asked me to put the att sim back in it and that's when the phone I was on died. so i came home and hoping we can finish this on line? I have no service yet. I've been with straight talk for probably 10 years, I'm on auto-pay. I just need my number [protected] switched to a new sim that will work in this other phone I bought. Straight talk has already checked to make sure the phone is compatible.

Jan:

Thank you for visiting Straight Talk Wireless.

Jan:

Hi Customer. Before anything else, may I please have your name?

Steve

Jan:

Hi Steve.

Hi Jan

Jan:

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

thank you, not your fault of any kind

Jan:

You are welcome.

hopefully you can pull the ticket and see where we left off.

Jan:

May I please have the new phone's IMEI?

[protected]

Jan:

Alright.

Jan:

How about the SIM card?

[protected]

Jan:

Thank you.

You are welcome

Jan:

I'm sorry but the phone number you provided is not showing up in our system.

Your like the 4th person to say that. I`ve had that number for years with you guys. lol seriously!

[protected]

whoever stole my phone took the sim out, but it should still be active. I never cancelled it or anything and I know its been paid every month.

Jan:

This number is not found on our system.

I don`t know how the others found it? That is my number though.

When I log into your site that's the number that shows up?

Jan:

Please provide me the other SIM card number that you tried to activate.

the other att or the t-mobile?

both?

Jan:

Yes, please.

first att- [protected]

next was t-mobile- [protected]

Jan:

Thank you.

NP

Jan:

Do you know your old phone's IMEI or SIM card number?

oh boy, no not right off hand.

can i find it on my account on your web site?

Jan:

Yes, you can.

sim ser# [protected]

Jan:

Thank you.

Jan:

This SIM card is active with another phone number!

something is defiantly wrong here, shows #[protected] !

Thats not my #

Jan:

Yes, that's the number active.

Seriously, that is not my number!

I`m not [censored]ting you. what is going on?

Jan:

I'm sorry but this is what it shows here.

I`ve never had a 218 number in my life

Jan:

I understand but this is what it shows here.

I need my same number back..

Jan:

I'm sorry but again we cannot find your phone number.

This is a joke right/?

Jan:

No, that's what I have been telling you the first time.

I can give you 50 people that will tell you that my number is [protected]

This is nuts

Jan:

If you want, you can activate your phone with a new number.

I can`t do that, it`s bad enough that i lost everybody's numbers...

I really can`t believe this! What happened to my number?

Jan:

I'm sorry but this is the only information that shows here.

n

the other 3 people i talked with on the phone said they couldn`t find it at first either, but then it never came up after that. So I assume they found it ?

Jan:

Your number is not on our system .

the one guy said "yes you will keep your number, that's not a problem".

it`s always been paid ...

Jan:

I'm sorry but again your number is not on our system .

There HAS to be something wrong on your end? how did my number get changed? I`m not a mental patient or have any kind of a problem. I can prove to you that is not my number

Is there anyone else that might have another idea of what is going on?

Jan:

The only option you have is to activate with a new number since the number you are trying to get is not available.

This is insane!

Jan:

I can transfer you to someone else but they will tell you the same thing.

It HAS to be available, I never lost it!

Jan:

If it is available, you number must have been activated by now but unfortunately, it's not.

its been my number for probably 10+ years, with straight talk!

Jan:

Alright.

Something seriously wrong is going on here

Jan:

I'm sorry for the inconvenience but again you can activate with a new number.

so not only have i lost everyone's numbers cause my phone was stolen, but now no one can get ahold of me either?

I can`t accept that

Jan:

You can have a new number that you can let them call you.

how are they going to know my new number when I don`t have theirs anymore?

Your closing, I`ll let you go and try tomorrow,

Jan:

There is a lot of way to contact a person. You can use email or social media.

Jan:

Alright.

Jan:

Thank you for chatting with Straight Talk Wireless.

Jan:

Have a wonderful evening.

you too

Jan:

Thank you.

On a two week old phone Straight Talk deactivated my service. This made the phone completely unusable for any future service. They claim my son sent too many multimedia messages in a day. Straight Talk Wireless Damaged phone shipped from website. Refund difficult

On May 7 I ordered a Samsung 812 from the website. On May 11 it was delivered and I spent more than seven hours trying to activate and speak with representatives at the call centers who hung up on me transferred me to Dept who couldn’t help and lied to me. Today on May 12 I Took the return email that they sent me that was supposed to have a UPS label on it to the UPS store only to find out that there was no return label nor was there anything for UPS to scan. I have made a total of three trips to the UPS store. Every time straight talk sends me an email it is an empty template with no label or scan. After purchasing the new phone at Walmart today I found out during the activation process that if you pay for service on the website and that phone is defective and must be returned, any service that you paid for on the website also has to be refunded because the service is connected to their MEID numbers. Needless to say I am livid. A $129 phone has now cost me now more than $400. Straight talk representatives are not trusting enough to send a UPS label via email therefore I must wait 3 to 4 days for a return label to be sent to me viaUS postal mail. This is the most Rinky dink company I have ever worked with. The staff in the call centers are children, they are foreigners who do not speak the English language nor do they know the alphabet. I have never had such bad service from any service provider in my whole entire life

Desired outcome: , refund of web purchase. and a years. Free service and aqn apology. FOM MGMT………WRITTEN. My time is valuable

Straight Talk Wireless Iphone 6SE Gen 2

Straight talk informed me before I purchased the phone it wld be compatible with AT&T.

After numerous hours (yes hours) and accidentally disconnected, I got through to a person who got my AT&T sim

Card to work. Well work for text messages NOT phone calls. It’s been an absolute cluster. I am extremely disappointed. I have two accts with them and will eventually switch if I can’t get this resolved.

Desired outcome: My phone to make phone calls
