Stater Bros Markets Quality of the produce

Since Jack Brown passed away I have noticed a major shift to inferior qualities of produce. The lettuce is terrible. Fruits have no flavor and just the overall quality of all the produce I purchase is bad. Some has even been rotten inside. Seems like there is a push to buy cheap quality to make more money.

Many time when I shop at Stater Bros I leave and end up driving to a Stater Bros competitor market to make a purchase of better products.

Desired outcome: Purchase better produce.

Stater Bros Markets Customer service

I went to store 77 this morning, All I wanted was two pounds of the chicken wings that were on sale. I asked for the tips, because I don't like the drumettes. I have been a customer since 1968. I was told I could only have one pound of the flat tips and the next pound had to be mixed. This was the first time anyone behind the butcher counter has ever said that to me. I wasn't asking for ten pounds, just two pounds,that was all I could afford. I am not going to buy something I don't like or will not eat. I don't think it was going to throw off your sales. Or break you, I will go back to the Stater Brother on Warner and Goldenwest in Huntington Beach, they know me there. Just kinda of a bummer way to start my day. I have always loved your stores, you guys take better care of your customers than any other store. Who else is going to put ribeyes or meat on sale, the way you guys do. It is evident, by how consistent you are when you have your sales or your everyday prices.

Stater Bros Markets Cashier/ donna store # 101

One of your workers/employee made me feel very uncomfortable, I felt like I was being bullied by her. I did not appreciate her talking the way she did to me in front of my children, and customers, if she had a problem she she should've called a manger! I did nothing wrong all I wanted was a little help,and ask a question.I did not need such negative attitude! Very unprofessional!

Stater Bros Markets Return policy

I made a purchase using a credit card and the item was garbage. On the package itself it states they will gladly REFUND your purchase price if not satisfied. I found out this is NOT true if you paid by credit card. I was told I would have to pick something else that adds up to the price of my return. That is an EXCHANGE! NOT A REFUND! I will think twice before ever shopping there again. BAD customer service.

Tried to return item on 8/10/2022 @ 10 AM at Yucaipa Stater Brothers on Yucaipa BLVD.

Desired outcome: I would like AT LEAST to have my credit card credited when I make the return.

I am requesting that you bring back your buy 6 get 30% off deal. Employees claim that the company still has the lowest prices if we buy 1, but that is not correct. I always buy wine in bulks, and sine your company has taken that deal away, you have lost my business, as well as three other families I know personally. You wine is still not at its lowest prices. I now shop at Ralph's.

Stater Bros Markets Customer service

On wed 8/4/22 approximately 2 pm i bought the wrong bottle of alcohol brought it right back for an exchange and Alicia told me it was impossible because of new system and some other things i cant remember because she wasn't clear. Thats fine my issue was she told me i need to be more careful when purchasing. I know staters is huge on customer service i thought you should know she comes off aggressive. I only shop at staters but i will never do my personal shopping there again. I was actually doing a delivery for door dash so its no big deal but i don't think she was being honest about the reason she made me feel like it was a bother. I just thought you should know

Desired outcome: She should be aware of the way she talks to people. It was an uncomfortable interaction.i want to make sure no one else has to go through that experience. I would like to know the outcome ,please reach out to me . [protected]@yahoo.com

The stater Brothers on Washington blvd Colton, California I went to the coinstar machine got a ticket and put the ticket on the conveyor belt anyways to make a long story short the lady saw the ticket instead of her getting the ticket she started the conveyor belt and it ate ,38 dollar ticket and then she had the audacity to say that's why you shouldn't put the ticket there I said there's no sign and then the manager comes down and he starts yelling at me I said hey man I don't need all that you're going to help me or you don't want to help me I'll take my business elsewhere that's your ticket you shouldn't have put it on the belt I said I put my other groceries on the belt and that lady saw that ticket and she deliberately I believe let that ticket get eaten up by the conveyor belt the cashier anyways I call customer service to make a complaint if they don't resolve my complaint I'll just won't shop at stater Brothers anymore that's how you do that

Stater Bros Markets Bad bagging service

8pm on Sunday 7/10 I visited the Stater Bros in La Verne on Foothill and D Street. The baggers name is Russell I have had him before. He’s rude, just throws items into the bag without any care of if it’s cans, glass, bottle, bread etc…. He’s smashed my bread, I have gotten home to find cracked glass bottles. Every time I have visitors he looks like he has a chip on his shoulder. He looks like he’s more concerned with look “pretty” and macho then giving good customer service. I’m so sick of it that now I pay attention to which lane he’s at and I won’t go to that lane. I have started going to Claremont store too.

Desired outcome: He needs to be talked to. Maybe written up. I have delt with him 3 times and each time it’s unpleasant

Stater Bros Markets Deli associate

6/26/22 Around 7- 9 A.m deli associate saw me approaching with my basket and gets right in front of my way on purpose. Stood there for about 3 seconds and then without looking, gets out of the way.

About a year before that incident, the same deli worker gave me a argument about wanting turkey with low sodium.

Stater Bros Markets Bakery

I ordered a 1/2 sheet of birthday cake and I was told they are baked fresh everyday. The cake was stale not fluffy. The taste was old like its been frozen too long. So one week later I ordered 1/4 sheet of Birthday cake from a different Stater Bros (both located on main street in Hesperia.) I asked if they are baked fresh everyday. I was told yes. Once again the cake had a rough texture to it plus it tasted old. The price for 1/4 sheet of cakes are priced at $28.99. But when I went to pay for my cake the price was $31.99.

Desired outcome: Couldnt get a sample of the first cake due to i bought it for my neighbor party. But the 2nd cake im returning it for a refund.

Stater Bros Markets Rude disrespectful cashier

I went to stater bro and bought a lottery ticket I noticed the machine had torn off part of the old ticket so now I noticed part of my ticket missing so I thought to myself I better check this ticket after checking the ticket I noticed I won I went back to cash the ticket there was no one at the check stand but me the older cashier that was training the two younger cashier I ask to cash it the ticket she called the manger and went back to her girly conversation as if I wasn't there after around 7 min the manger came opened the machine and gave me the bottom of my ticket I now get in line behind a lady with a lot of groceries so I get to the cashier give her the ticket she now tells me to go to another store to cash the ticket I reply no other store will honor this ticket its torn theolder cashier replied well our machine is down and she told me you would have to come back later I replied all I did was came in and bought a lottery ticket your machine was off line I had nothing to do with it the older cashier replied well thats all I can do and while I was talking to her she walked off I asked one of the younger woman to call the manger the manger came I asked to file a written complaint the manger replied ill talk to her I told the manger im a senior I should not be talked to that way after 5 min the lotto machine was working I asked again about writing a complaint she replied ill talk to her I replied well if I come back ill bring my wife she can talk to her the manger replied if I bring my wife she going to call the police I asked for what the manger replayed that I would be starting something I asked you don't think what she did was wrong I reminded the manger this is 2023 not 1889 but I see stater bro have a racial problem 0700 may 15

Stater Bros Markets Bakery Department victorville store Hook Blvd.

There has been more than one occasion in the last year I have received Cakes that TASTE OLD,4/1/22 designed other then asked in May 2021 for my son Full sheet Super Hero Party, June of 2021 my 1/2 sheet Raider cake was half completed with wrong wording! one side bigger then the other...FEBRUARY 26TH MY DAUGHTER NOTARY PARTY... CAKE WAS DAMAGED DECORATED OTHER THEN WHAT I ASK FOE FOR.

Stater Bros Markets Employee failing to check id for alcohol purchase.

This happened at the Phelan Ca. Stater bros. at approximately 6:21pm on 3/21/2022, the employee's name is Roxy A. I purchased 1 item, a bottle of whiskey. There was a customer in front of me who had multiple bottles of alchohol. Where as both of us look under 35, it's Federal law to ID anyone who looks under 35, Regardless of relationship with the customer. This employee looked very closely at my ID but only to FAIL to check a customers ID behind me who also bought alcohol. When I got home I tried calling the store numerous times only to feel as if my call was being ignored. It honestly felt like discrimination and made me never want to shop at your Grocery store ever again. I'm not sure what steps to take but I want to let the Better Business Bureau know how you let employees conduct themselves.

Desired outcome: I would truly like for this employee to investigated and or reprimanded on this matter. Or a apology at the very least.

If the customer is behind you how do you know if the ID wasn't checked? I have never heard of federal law saying if you look under 35 your ID must be checked to purchase alcohol. Maybe it is your state law. Maybe the cashier thought the person looked over 35.

Stater Bros Markets "Check-out Service"

I am a frequent shopper at various Sater Bros markets; however, Palm Desert (off of Varner & Washington) location is closest to my residence. I was very disheartened when I approached the check stand & proceeded to put my items on the belt. The whole time I was loading my items, the cashier was discussing her plans (with two of the box clerks) on what she will be purchasing for her boyfriend for Valentine's Day. Never stopped talking to her clerks, never once acknowledged that I was there; no greeting... nothing. I did bring it to her attention that I had a case of water on bottom of basket as she nodded & went back to converse with her associates. Then, the gentleman in line behind me noticed she started to ring his items along with mine. Obviously NOT paying attention to her job. She corrected the situation but was less than apologetic when she made light of the situation by saying "it was only one item". Well, it was two, but THAT is not the point. CUSTOMER SERVICE should always be #1 & she was not offering that at her check stand.

Desired outcome: An apology, or assurance that if I do return to that store, I will get better customer service.

I love the new Sushi counter at the Stater Bros in Yucca Valley, CA you can grab and go especially when you only have 30 minutes for lunch and it takes 10 minutes to drive there. Why at lunch time do you have only one (1) express aisle open, slowest person as a cashier and bagger. It was backed up and I moved to a lane that had people with a cart load and was still out of there before the person that I was standing behind at the express counter was through. It's ridiculous 20 minutes in line for one item, please get with the times and add a couple of computerized lanes we can go to.
