Sports Illustrated Sports Illustrated

Today September 18, 2023 I received a copy of Sports Illustrated in the mail. I never ordered this magazine. I contacted Sports Illustrated customer service and they stated that Sub Baba

Pro sent this magazine to me without notifying me in any way. I feel that this is a scam. I called the phone number for Sub Baba Pro given to me by Sports Illustrated customer service and got a recording which stated their hours were 8AM until 8PM. The time of my call was at 6:30PM, yet they were closed. The recording wanted my name, phone number and email address. Therefore I feel they are phishing for my information. Sub Baba Pro’s phone number is [protected].

Desired outcome: Cease and desist from mailing magazine subscriptions and have no contact with me.

Sports Illustrated Quality

My family has been subscribing to SI almost continually since inception. I still have the first issue under plastic. My complaint is that, while recognizing the publishing challenge of attracting and keeping the last couple of generations of non-reading numb skulls, SI has abandoned any semblance of proving coverage, commentary and analysis of current and major sporting events in football, basketball, baseball and the rest. Instead we get drivel, obscure topics, woke inspired articles that very likely NO ONE, including the last twenty years of hopeful readers, are looking at. Case in point: the latest issue with feature articles on — Gamers want to be Athletes, G League, Mickey Mantle baseball card, and one about an Azerbaijan reporter. Really? This is mostly People Magazine stuff, written better. How about coverage on the last big golf tournament where Rahm was disqualified? How about a mid-season report on baseball and the pitcher "sticky stuff" issue? How about the latest news on star player movement in the NFL? How about the upcoming crisis in Japan, re - the Olympics? What's going on? The Verducci article about the scout was at least good writing. SI has now taken the last move possible: from irrelevant to crap. I'm done.

Desired outcome: canceled subscription

Sports Illustrated Writer making sexist comments

One of your writers, Nathan Atkins, is tweeting misogynistic and sexist remarks about the female students attending the University of Notre Dame. He actually characterized the physical appearance of the "girls" who attend Notre Dame as "mostly mediocre looking". He deleted the tweet after reading the hundreds of negative comments from readers on social media. He deleted the tweet without an apology.

Desired outcome: Sports Illustrated should not work with writers who are sexist.

Sports Illustrated si swimsuit calendar

My wife has been buying me the SI desk calendar for many years - I used to love it! Here it is the ninth calendar month & I am disgusted with your calendar! Last year you guys started showing FAT girls in bikinis! WTF is up with that? If I wanted to look at chubby girls, I would go to the nearest beach. I guess you guys are going along with some Politically Correct idea that chunky girls should be on calendars too. No they should not! Overweight people are unhealthy but you guys want to show their fat while wearing bikinis. Guess what, I have told my wife not to bother buying me the SI desk calendar anymore. I'll just go to the nearest swimming pool, lake or beach & see all the fat girls I want...

Sports Illustrated magazines and charges

First it began with credit card charges i did not even sign up for, after six months not noticing I questioned these charges. Not only was i signed up unwillingly i was not even receiving product. Got charges disputed but when i called sports illustrated to cancel whoever was on my account, they got angry with me when i told them i don't have an account i just have the card number. She began cutting me off and would not let me speak. Finally telling her the card number she bluntly said "canceled account" and hung up on me. Just glad i got the card off whoever was using my account. But TERRIBLE communication skills and horrible personality. Don't remember her name because she mumbled it but she had an non us accent.

Sports Illustrated promotional items

I ordered the Eagles Super Bowl commemorative pack in February, the website said to allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. After 6 weeks I called and was told 6 to 12 weeks because of back orders and to call back at the end of 12 weeks! At the end of 12 I'm told the book was mailed but to allow 3 weeks for delivery. I asked for a tracking number but they said they don't have those. So I'm back to waiting. Asked about the jacket and football that was supposed to also be shipped and told that would be 12 to 16 weeks! Here it is in July and the football and book were delivered a month and a half apart... but no jacket. When I called about the jacket I was told I had to wait another week before I can call and claim the jacket wasn't received. They have such an archaic system that doesn't allow you to get email notifications to know when it ships or to track and make sure you're home so nobody steals your stuff the post office leaves at your door. I'm so disappointed that a well established company is so far behind in their technology.

Sports Illustrated si magazine non-delivery

I have experienced SI magazine delivery problems recently. I have not received 2 weekly SI magazines recently. The last one involved the issue dated 6/5/17. My complaints are as follows:

• Not receiving the mailed SI magazine twice within 4 weeks. The two times were mid-May and the 6/5/17 issue. I only had minimal mailing problems until recently. I look forward to receiving this magazine and I read it cover-to-cover. Please ensure the magazine is delivered to my house.
• Regarding the 6/5/17 magazine, I did not receive this magazine in the mail. The SI customer rep only extended my subscription for 2 weeks. I had to buy from Barnes & Noble for $5.40. However, since my subscription price is $0.78 per magazine, the 2 week subscription extension value of $1.56 ($0.78 times 2 issues) does not cover the $5.40 that I paid. To fully cover my $5.40 cost, my subscription should be extended 7 weeks, and not 2 weeks.
• Yesterday, I called to complain about not receiving an issue for 6/12/17. I was informed by the SI customer rep that SI did not produce a magazine dated 6/12/17. The 6/5/17 magazine did not say “Double Issue” and it was not any larger than normal. My subscription is for a weekly magazine; however, SI apparently decides when it feels like producing a magazine and not informing the customer. I have to believe than thousands of SI customers complained about this issue.

I have been a long time subscriber. I strongly prefer the printed magazine. I am beginning to have doubts about SI since the magazine is shrinking in size, delivery problems, etc. At a minimum, please extend my subscription an additional 5 weeks (see the 2nd bullet point) to cover the Barnes & Noble replacement cost, ensure the magazine is delivered to my home and issue a weekly magazine unless a double magazine is clearly identified and magazine content exceeds 120 pages.

Sports Illustrated Unauthorized Bank Withdrawal

On March 12, 2009, an unauthorized withdrawal in the amount of $110.88 was made on our checking account. We have never had contact with TWX Sports Illustrated, never ordered anything through them, nor received any merchandise from them. When we tried to contact the company on April 9, 2009, after seeing the entry on our bank statement, we were put into an automated answering system that requested information that we could not provide since we've never received a statement, magazine, or any other information. This company just took funds out of our account. It is a total scam! We have just called the local authorities to report this ripoff.

Sports Illustrated subscription sent without being ordered

Yesterday I filed a complaint about Wellness Watchers MD. Well the problem that I am having with them making charges on my credit card, I also think that they some how gave information to Sports Illustrated and now I am receiving their magazine and being billed for it without ever placing an order or nothing. Sports Illustrated is also giving me the run around about trying to find out how the order was placed and who placed it. The world is full of people trying to take advantage of innocent honest hard working people. We can't let these type of people take advantage of us or get away with this. We must be presistant and keep pressing until we get ot the bottom of this.

Long time fan of SI here, but you dropped the ball this time with your stupid decision to stick a trans freak on the cover. God made man and woman, nothing else. Why are you catering to the woke, sick and twisted irrelevant pieces of humanity? You will be sorry. Get your heads out of your butts and stick to truth, not satans lies.

I ordered magazines back in November and have not received three of them. They are all paid for. They are for my grandchildren. I did call back in Jan.2008 and was told there was a mix up and the order will be put through again. Still have not received the magazines and cannot get in touch with them. I emailed to Nicole. No response. I have called and had to leave messages. No response.

Just got off the phone with my bank for the exact same thing. $24.54 taken from my account without authorization. How does this happen? How can they get it through without the security code from the back of the card? So frustrating! Now I have to go and get a temporary debit card and switch all automatic debits to the new card. Sports Illustrated Credit Card Charges

I bought a pair of shoes at FINISH LINE and I used them ounce, for an hour at a basketball pick up game and men the shoes gave me terrible blister on the foot and ankle I told my dad to return them me at the store for an exchanged due to maybe a defect on the shoes. One of the representative said they could change it for a different shoes so my dad called me to tell me to swing by to get a pair that would fit right and not hurt you while using the shoe. I got there the representative is now saying they could not change the shoe because its used and blah-blah and blah-blah and you could talk to our store manager and blah-blah. The point is they said they would do change the shoe and all of a sudden they changed there mind on changing it. wheres the customer is always right. I mean don't get me wrong, I swear they got that attitude that you feel there pushing you away from buying on there store... well its there loss cause im gonna spread the word not to buy on this store again they suck..."i will never buy again on finish line there finish"

Still happening in March 2016 through Finish Line at Coastal Grande Mall in Myrtle Beach, SC. Just received a charge for $53.45 (WOW!) for a subscription to Sports Illustrated that I don't even want. All I wanted was a pair of sneakers for my 5 year old. I attempted to refuse the so called Free subscription yet somehow still received it in the mail. I've filed a dispute for unauthorized charges with my bank and will take it as far as I need to. And note to self: NEVER EVER SHOP AT FINISH LINE AGAIN!

Still happening. I bought a pair of shoes in finish line in Myrtle Beach SC and I said I no to the subscription. I thought the receipt was only for a pair of shoes. I do not even read sports illustrated nor want them. I did not authorize anyone but finish line to run my card for a pair of sneakers only. I bet they get some type of commission. I called and they said it would be seven to ten days to refund so we will see. This is a dirty cheap trick to get business.

Still happening. Bought a pair of shoes from Finish Line on October 30, 2015 and I just got a call from my bank about possible fraudulent charges from Sports Illustrated. I had my bank issue a charge back, cancel my card and I cancelled my subscription by calling the magazine directly. I specifically said "no" to the free subscription and never received a magazine. The operator who answered for the customer service line said the subscription was under a different name and address...I can only assume its the name and address of one of Finish Line's employees. Such a scam.
At the very least, my bank was aware of this scam already and knew enough to bring it to my attention.

This scam situation is still happenning nowadays in 2015, it happened to me at Leesburg outlet Stores location, they try to hide everything and when you want to call them they say that employee no longer work there and unfortunately you signed the electronic pad, of course you signed is your credit card! this is the big difference between buying in footlocker or sports autorithy or even Dick's. Now EVERYBODY knows WHO ARE THE REAL DICKS of th sports goods the scammers of Finish Line, I WILL NOT BUY THERE ANYMORE cause people who mess with your credit cards are called THIEVES everywhere around the world and managers that covers them are also THE SAME.

Same thing. Wife buys shoes for child, Finish Line salesperson says "10 issues of SI free", they say OK and I completely missed the charge on our credit card. Luckily I saw the automatic renewal on the magazine in today's mail. Time and the Finish Line have no shame. I was unable to lodge a complaint with Time about this practice and the Finish Line web site has no links to a customer service department.

Oh, I love the url at the bottom of the SI.com site:

"Time Inc. and the DMA are working together to prevent Identity Theft

Maybe we should start reporting The Finish Line and Sports Illustrated -- that should get their attention.

Sports Illustrated No morality!

I was with a friend at a Barnes and Noble Bookstore, waiting to order my coffee. I was looking at the magazines in the area and was mortified by the cover of the February edition of Sports illustrated! The woman on the cover is borderline pornographic is a FAMILY BOOKSTORE! I bring my son who is 3 often and that is that last thing I want his innocent eyes to see and question. I believe there is something inherently wrong with this and I would like to know why they can't have a more covered up picture in the front? I know they have disgusting pictures inside, but is it necessary to display blatant topless women on the cover? I was severely offended and embarrassed to even have looked at it! I don't know what needs to be done but if they insist on having such provocative women on the covers, I believe they should at least be covered! Other magazines do the same and have no problem reeling in customers.

Magazines in general push the sex limitations as freedom of speech/press/or artistic expression far further than acceptable in moral society. Nothing is left to the imagination with the way they are presented. Yes, I agree the women are fit and beautiful. Yes, those swim suit issues are soft porn and very sexual in nature. They teach men and young boys to value women as sexual objects ( parts for pleasure) only good for entertainment and make it a sport and game to be celebrated among athletes. What the hell does a swim suit model shoot teach or report about sports? Nothing but lookey here at my T and A. It teaches young girls to use thier bodies for financial gain and social fame by flaunting their beauty as a commodity. Sex sells and SI is playing the pimp to the buying Johns who oogle thier issues of soft porn. I don't need to see some girls knockers hanging out all over the place or what kind of trim job the girl chooses at the beauty salon- shall we all say Brazillian together. It focuses your eye either on the breasts or right to the pubic line. What kind of sport is that? It is a man's world and porn has influenced it greatly. You can buy that garbage on any news stand and it's presented at eye level to you children daily. Yes, is my right to object to it being in family formats. Yes, it is your right to view it as you see fit. But forcing your lack or values and sexual freedom down my childs face for fear of sensorship is lame. You try teaching moral values and keeping your sexual integrity to teens while this crap is marketed for nothing more than sales. It's all about the all mighty dollar at the expense of women and thier bodies. Those women who participate in it are seeking attention for all the wrong reasons- money as they laugh all the way to the bank at men who are fools for visual aides. It's a matter of choice - do you wish to be viewed as a piece of meat or valued for your brains and achievment? It's wrong and men need to get a life and start respecting the women in your own world by boycotting such smut. What message does it send to the youth of this country or your partner? It says I buy womens bodies for sport and you are not good enough to tease men like this. Then you compare and look down on real women who do not look or act like the models. Real women who value their sexuality as a private matter and celebrate thier sexuality descreatly within thier own relationship and not publically. It is engrained in our society to teach men to be sexual predators and women to be strippers or be subjected to being classified as a prude if they don't conform. It is just in line with all professional sporting teams that present their dancers and cheerleaders as good clean family fun. Bull- it's nothing but boy toys shaking their spandexed assets for the camera and loving the attention given by men stupid enough to think they doing it all for them. Get a life and quit living like a frat boy who just found his Dad's porn hidden in the garage. It's nothing but adult fun and it should be kept off of the shelves where anyone under 18 shops. It is not teaching healthy sexual relations between men and women but is perpetuating the Lolita effect.( early sexualization of our children.) It is soft porn and needs at least a cover sheet on it or plain white wrapper to shiel our children from adult ideas they are not ready for. Yes, I take full responsiblilty for teaching my child the facts of life. It has not been easy when society and men's purchasing tastes are shoved at my daughter at the ripe old age of 10. You can have your smut but keep it away from our grocery store counters and book stores where children shop. You can be the grown up and act like a responsible adult by sensoring your smut from childrens eyes and viewing and purchasing it descreatly. Grow up Dude and quit shoving your macho attitudes at women doing their job as an adult caregiver. It's adult entertaiment plain and simple and needs to be monitored appropriately. Put your money where your mouth is women and cancel your man's subscriptions to such crap. Send a message to the publishers that they don't like. Write letters of complaints to anything that offends you. I do. More women need to be heard as they are more than sport for sexual pleasure of men.

I agree with your position with full heart. My son is an absolute sex crazed maniac. Wht with his half naked posters and his lotions its enough to drive a working mother insane. I blame it on the media. The media portraits women as these slim domestic godessess. I mean even the pretty ones arent that skinny. These women make me sick. Society tells us that women are pieces of meat that are sold at supermarkets, well maybe society needs a smack in the back of the head with the old judges gavel.

Censorship is not the answer. Be a parent and explain things to your child. Wanting the world to cater to your sense of decency is the height of entitlement. It will not happen.

What you saw is not pornography. The model was not engaging in any sexual act.

Because of people like you there is such a strict taboo on the human body in American society. It is nothing to be ashamed of, it is the beauty that god gave us and should be celebrated.

I find your complaint offensive. I don't want my world sanitized just because someone's child may see it. If they ask the questions, provide the answers. That's your job. I will not be party to you shirking your responsibilities just because you think something is inappropriate for EVERYBODY when it only bothers you.

Barnes and Noble will continue to have my business as it is a place of spreading ideas and knowledge. Books are wonderful. I hope you never get into a position of power as I fear you will be one who burns them.

Not everything in the world is going to be pleasurable to the eye for everyone. Sex sells. I'm sure there are a lot of books in there, say, romantic novels that have provocative covers on them. Are you going to ban those as well? This is like people who don't want their kids watching certain TV shows. Block them, don't show it to them, but just because you don't like it, doesn't mean you and only you doesn't. Don't take away things some people enjoy, just because you don't like to "look" at it.
