Spirit Halloween — Returned costume and exchanged different character
We were at Spirt Halloween in Hilliard, Ohio and spoke with Lisa Manager. Explained to her that my mom bought my son a spider man costume on 9/28/2020 and cashier did not give my mom a receipt. My son found a black panther costume that he wanted. We asked Lisa if we could bring the Spider man costume back and exchange for Black Panther costume. Explained to her that they did not give us the receipt and costume was still in bag that was given to us and the paper for spider man costume was not in the bag when my mom purchased the costume. They scanned a different costume to ring up the price of spider man costume. Lisa said that since we were not provided with receipt that we could bring in my mom's bank statement and she would exchange the costume. We went home and took the costume back over to Spirit Halloween and Lisa was very very rude and unprofessional to my mom. She took costume out of the package and was upset that the card board was missing and my son and mom explained again to her that it was missing the night that they purchased the costume. She looked over every inch of the costume and then told my mom great this is unsellable and they just lost money. She gave my mom the Black Panther costume and she did not examine the costume at store. We brought the costume home and the zipper is band broken and ripped and Lisa told my mom it is non-returnable. We are now stuck with $55.00 costume that my son can't wear and Spirit Halloween received the Spider Man costume back with no issues. We were just ripped off $55 and my son doesn't have a costume he can wear. Lisa is very rude and unprofessional and sold us a costume that is not wearable and we are out $55 which is ridiculous. I will not be shopping at Spirit Halloween in the future due to poor management and attitude. If she is that unhappy and miserable she doesn't need a retail position and deal with public. My son is so upset with her and her behavior. Very sad that my 13 year old son is more professional and caring than Lisa will ever be. This issue needs resolved immediately and we should have a new costume.
