Shoppers Drug Mart review: customer service

I purchased a gift card for $100 for Christmas, the person tried to use it and it said there was no money on the card. I called Shoppers (keele and wilson) on December 28, 2015, where I purchased it from and they said they could not do anything. I talked to 2 employees and both couldn't care to help me resolve my issue. They just wanted to push me off to someone else. Both yelled at me, one swore at me and then hung up the phone on me. I went on the Shoppers website and it clearly says with original receipt within 30 days they can refund my gift card with another gift. When I mentioned this to the employees neither of them could care to listen or even try to assist me. They told me to call head office, I tried multiple times and the phone went dead. I mentioned my situation to a friend and she also mentioned that she purchased a gift card from Shoppers and there was no money on it either. WHATEVER you do NEVER buy a gift card from SHOPPERS, all they do is steal your money and they are unwilling to help you recover your money. I use to go to Shoppers for everything, for my prescriptions, beauty products, gifts, cards etc. and now I will never shop at Shoppers again, nor will my family and friends. My family and friends are now switching to other pharmacies for their prescriptions. I hope no one buys gift cards from Shoppers again, it is a huge risk to take. Sad part is they probably don't even care and nothing will get done about this!
