I went to purchase ham & cheese on a sunday night from the deli. As I approached the counter an older woman wearing a hospital boot walked around the counter to face me. As I happily said hi. She rested her self onto the counter and just blankly stared at me. I said hey how are you. I received no reply with a grunt. I requested a lb of krakus ham shaved. She replied... Shaved?. I said yes. She rolled her eyes and said rudely, "it will be a while". It took about 10-15 minutes for her to finish. I get shaving the deli meat takes longer. I worked in a deli for years. However it's customer's choice. And it doesn't take longer than a few minutes. By the time she was slicing my cheese she was so perturbed she sliced 1 piece a minute. It was all unnecessary as I was the only customer.
I've seen her there before complaining about the line, people's orders, etc. It's unnecessary. This is the job you chose. Smile and enjoy your day.
