bad service
On 29 Nov 07, @ about 12:00 I went to Sams Club (5651 Holmes Ave. N.W., Huntsville AL) to pick up prescription (R.X.). On 02 Dec 07, in the a.m. I started feeling lethargic not soon after I got up in the a.m. so I went back to bed. When I got up later on that early afternoon my hands started to shake badly, I still felt lethargic, and started to have...

On may 10th 2008 I purchased a watch for mothers day. The watch states water resistant 30 meters. After being worn only about 4 times my wife went in the pool 5ft deep. Upon exiting we noticed condensation in watch and it was no longer working.
The following day 6/15/2008 we took it and receipt to "sam's" club for exchange or refund. After waiting @ return desk for 10min we were sent to jewlery counter, after waiting for service and no one showing she was paged again. Now another 10min a somewhat unhappy representative appeared. Telling her problem she asked for box watch had come in along with all other items in box such as user manuel. I told her we had already red manuel and didn't need it any longer so all that had been disgarded, I also told her at no time during purchase were we told to keep "all" product material. As turned to walk away she told me return policy is on website and I should have read it. I said I didn't buy from any website I bought in store. She then turned & walked away saying she is going to manager as she walked away! She was there no longer than 2min bore leaving us @ counter for another 10min.
Manager walks up to us, does not offer us any resolution, or even ask how she can help. She had already determined her mode of action, handed me back watch & receipt stating same thing as other girl. I repeated my situation and also stated how her empoyee had told me I should have read policy on website. She appologised for that statement and told me to go back home see waht I could find if anything. If I could not find anything she "may" be able to offer store credit.
This is rediculous, does she not know price of gas, is her time not valuable to her, is she really asking me to dig through trash can outside @ over 100 degrees? Fact is knowing it or not, this is exactly what she's telling me to do if I want credit! Hell no, and now i'm upset! I run a service business and no way would I have many customers if this is what I thought was customer satisfaction! I reminded the this is a membership store, we pay to keep place going and to shop here. They should go beyond retail customer service, and strive to meet the neeeds of their "members".
Well I will do all they require to get my refund, and when I return I will also ask for my membership to be canceled and hope they honor policy that states "if @ anytime you are unhappy with service, full membership fee will be returned." we'll see what happens maybe i'll have to pass some timed obstacle course out back and grab my money flying around in wind chamber to really receive refund?
I'm going back to "costco" I never had trouble there and was just giving "sam's club" a try.

rude service
The associates are rude and unhelpful. While waiting on you they don’t acknowledge you talk among each other and just hand your receipt and change with out even saying thanks come again or even looking at you.. Makes you mad you just spent your money there.. Just rude and one associates in particular Tyria (not sure of spelling) nails are so long she can barley get the coins out of the register, and makes the rudest comments. She single-handed can destroy that location
Sams Club Rosedale MD
Waited in line for 45 minutes while cashier let another customer go out to parking lot to get something meanwhile we ask to be rung up and he said he couldn't because customer was half way rung up with his order.
Walk by sample tables 3 times, 3 different tables and the reps there did not asked us once to try the products they were promoting but, when some other customers of a different effnic came by the reps ask them to try the product. This was certainly not the first time we encounter this at Sams club. This was reported last time and it still nothing done.
I actually paid to be treated this way. No more after this I decided after today, I will not be renewing my membership.
poor custumer service in scarborough, me
We also felt disrespected at Sams Club while returning an item to Fayetteville, Ar store. We canceled our membership before we could use it. Un Happy Consumer
In response to the comment about the gas station employee: that employee can be fired if he is caught sleeping. Report it!
There is not one store, or club, that is perfect. I realize that this happened at the club you shop at, but this is not true everywhere. My Sams Club in San Marcos, Texas offers the best customer service. I can honestly say that the $100 a year I pay for my membership is well-spent and I would spend more if the price went up. There are great deals to be found, great customer service, and I feel respected as a member when I walk in. Sorry the club in your area is not as welcoming.
The customer service at Sam's Club in Tampa is second to none. They are extremely helpful in person and when you call!
I to also have a complant about a sams club in eastgate Ohio
about the gas station attendent who is asleep everytime i go to get gas. Everytime I go there an employee man named Bill is asleep in the little building at the gas station.
My gas can be bought elsewhere as well as there.
I think thats pretty good when I go to spend my money to get gas and the longhaired old fart is asleep.
sincerly mad costomer
they are racists
Sam's Club only wants to promote the white people if your black you get stuck with a small *** position. I know for a fact because I have worked with them fore 3 years, never received full time or never got promoted to a new position but every white person came in and got full time or promoted with in 3 months. They are very racist. White people come in and treat the black employees like *** and they accept it as if it’s fine. Word of advice don't support that racist *** Sam's Club they don’t deserve to even be open.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
all of theses comments just proved how racists this world really is... smh
fore HA
HAha! This is awsome!
Quit whining. Do your job and stop racebaiting and you'll likely have more success. I wouldn't hire a [censor] like you to clean my toilets. It has nothing to do whether you are black, white, pink, polka dotted, or striped. It has a lot to do with the fact you are so worried about what you are "entitled to have", you forgot to do your job and lose the crappy attitude. Have fun in fast food. It should better suit your talents.
It is hard to move up in Sam's Club because people that have the good jobs, stay in them for years!
Learn patience, go to a new company, whatever, just don't be ignorant and blame everything on racism!
Quit whining and start working!
Why? Because they promote people who do their jobs, regardless of what they look like? There are a lot of people within my store that have been there for years, and haven't moved up, simply because they don't show that they can handle a promotion. This person sounds just like that. You don't get handed a better job because of seniority. You get it when you earn it. Stop whining.
I want more comments to be posted against Sam's club.
If you would have been a smart black and used affirmitive action for college, you wouldn't have to be working for the racists. Obviously high school owned you, so what do you expect?
Shut up, ###.
extended warranty on plasma tv
I bought a 42 Philips plasma TV from Sams w/ an extended two year warranty. Within the first year i used my tv at most for three months. Within the first year the tv developed a blue spot when the tv heated up. The repair people for their warranties is not even located in Tennessee, their out of Alabama. They are Audio Video specialist.. It took them a week to look at it, another 5 days to pick it up. And as of today now day 46, the part to fix my TV is still in limbo and has not been resolved. One CSR working for Sams has been sympathetic, but that doesnt make me feel better as i stare at the huge blank spot on the wall of my livingroom as i listen to the NBA finals and the US cup on the radio.. I highly recommend not to buy from Sams because of there very lack-luster febal attempt when it comes to pleasing their customers.. Im wondering if my warranty expires before the tv gets returned if my warranty is still valid.. I still have 22 months so ill keep all posted..
I completely agree. I am at the two month mark waiting on my tv to be repaired. After they sent the same wrong part twice, I finally let them take my tv. I called today to check on it and the part is still on back order...Who knows when it will be fixed. I know one thing, I will never purchase another thing from Sam's club.
Uh...you might want to consider replacing it with an LCD flat screen instead. And forget that 42-incher. Anything less than 50 inches is like Chili without the hot sauce. Let this breakdown be your excuse. As far as electronics retailers are concerned, they don't recommend plasma tv's at all due to the high incidence of defective returns. Plasma tv owners are also told not to use their tv sets for video games such as the wildly popular Wii and Guitar Hero (they result in "burned in" images on the screen). On tv channels without HD (High Definition) signals, there is a portion of the screen that is blacked out (to compensate for a non-widescreen format) and it has been observed that plasma screens tend to develop an impression of the blacked out area over time. As for having to keep receipts, I don't get it. In this age where almost every major retailer maintains a customer database (they monitor customer traffic this way and also keep tabs on members' shopping habits, I think) you'd think the retailer would be able to take a peek and print out your last receipt (just give them your last name & phone number, no?) Oh by the way, if you have an extended warranty, use it. It works as long as you know what it covers: Parts and labor? Are you able to bring the unit back to the place of purchase? OR are you supposed to ship it to some authorized repair shop? Can they replace the unit with a similar one if the defective unit becomes unavailable or unrepairable? I'd like to know these things before I buy these warranties.
Oh my goodness. I apologize that you had to go through all of this. What you need to do is return the TV to the Sams Club and have them exchange it for you, or offer you another television. Hopefully, you have your receipt. If you do, they will give you what you paid for it, including your warranty and attach it to your new television for another two years! If you don't have it, they will give you what it rings up at that date. It's important to hold on to receipts! Go to the club and stop trying to wait for that repair!
membership fees. poor visibility
Hi,
We are visiting the US. After loading all our stuff into the shopping cart at Sams club in Port Charlotte, we where told at the cash counter that we needed to be members to shop there. The woman at the registry told us we could get a one day shopping pass at customer service. Off we went to customer service only to be told that there was no such thing as a one day shopping pass and that we had to return all the goods in our shopping cart or pay 40USD for a memebership in order to purchase stuff there.
We love the US and the shopping possibilities here. Sams club was a negative experience. If you are not allowed to shop somewhere without paying 40 USD for it - at least there should be a clear warning on every commercial they show. I guess "club" gives them that right - but hey - it looks like your average walmart.
Lars, Norway
Wait, Don't Be a ###- just noticed you are in Texas...that explains everything. Condolences.
"Don't Be a ###"- I understand your gripe with the OP, but your vitriol only show your own insecurity. Grow up.
I have to agree with Don'tBeAMoron, your stupidity is astounding.
I hate you, idontcare2, because you are a [censor]. Apart from the occasional typographical error, you possess real life stupidity. Please go die in a car fire. Take some of your libtard friends on a drive with you. Inhale deeply for fear the rescue crews are expedient. If the fire doesn't get you, I can only hope smoke inhalation does.
Sincerely,
Society.
By the way, assclown, society isn't my username. Look harder next time, brainiac.
wow society - you are a [censor] to expect people from another country to know things we grow up knowing. no wonder everyone hates americas.
Dear [censor],
First of all, Sam's Club does not look like Walmart whatsoever. You might notice that one looks like a warehouse and the other does not. I'll let your keen intellect figure out which is which. Secondly, a "club" is commonly associate with membership dues. You know that employee that asks you for a card upon entering the building? That should be a fairly clear cut indicator that you need a membership card to shop there. Please remain in Norway.
Sincerely,
Society.
Has anyone had the experience in the past of Sam's Club Cashier pushing early renewal
of membership dues? Then finding out later that SAM's moved your anniversary back effectively cheating you out of several weeks or even months of membership dues that you already paid!
Though most people realize that a club means you have to become a part of it, the door greeter should have directed you towards the membership desk. Also, there is something as a one-day pass, but you have to find those passes outside the club in promotional magazines, or newspapers. The upcharge on your purchase will be 10% since you do not have a membership, so it's best that you buy one. The $40 or $100 you spend on your membership each year is worth it, in my opinion.
poor customer service
I recently shopped at the local Sam's Club in Rome, Ga. I got stuck behind a guy who had a problem with his credit card. They called over an assistant manager and still could not get the problem solved. They sent the guy over to customer service and I had been waiting in line for 15 minutes and had never even been acknowledged. I had unloaded 2 hours worth of shopping onto the belt and 2 other registers were open with no customers. All employees just stood there and offered no assistance. I walked out and left everything on the belt. No one even said a word. I called to complain and they put me on hold forever...I will cancel my account.
K.C.
Dear [censor],
You sure showed them! Walked out of that store with your head held high! Chances are they don't give a [censor] whether you shop there or not. Quit whining.
Sincerely,
Every customer service associate that has ever lived.
you are crazy for leaving your stuff on the belt!
You wasted two hours shopping and leaving your stuff.
DO you really think sam's club lost a ton of money by you walking out!
Doubtful.
Next time, get your groceries checked out, THEN cancel your membership and never come back!

The customer service for Sam's Club (especially local Pensacola, FL) is really awful - every time you attempt anything such as a simple receipt request or tin# they make you feel like you are asking for an arm and a leg. Trying to reach anyone actually willing (underline willing) to help is worse than pulling teeth. They should all be sent to a customer service training program. The instore management attitudes really stink and the employees who work for them are following their examples. I would not recommend business with this company. Try to contact general customer service outside of the local store and you wind up at a dead-end for at least half an hour unless you call the number I have listed here! Finally after over half an hour you reach a phone number [protected] and speak to someone who may help if they actually forward the information on. I have been a customer in both the private and the business sectors and in both areas the customer service at the local level was truly abominable.
Your posted hours for the Pharmacy are from 9:00 AM etc. It is never open at 9:00 AM. They never get there until 9:05 or 9:10. I will soon have to find another Pharmacy. If they are that lax about being on time their work could also be sloppy. Thanks, Sam Malcuria
The store is on S. Arizona avenue in Chandler, AZ
Good for you! I've never found that to be the case at Sams Club, however it's happened to me at other stores. That is definitely poor customer service. A company should have their employees trained to assist in situations like these. Afterall, if it weren't for the customers, they wouldn't be in business.
unethical credit card!
Sam's Club issued us a Discover Credit cart giving 2% cashback on all our purchases, after we upgraded our account to pay a $100 annual membership. The webiste for online banking has been a disaster, and we have had re-register our online account more than 4 times because they kept changing things on the website, and we couldn't log in anymore. Finally, we got sick of it and decided to cancel the account at the end of the year. We intended to get the cashback we had earned, and simply not renew. However, the rewards checks are issued in February, and if you cancel your account before then, you lose your rewards. Also, if you downgrade your account, you lose the rewards. So, they have set up the system to keep you trapped, or you have to lose money to get out of the loop. I highly recommend that people not support unethical businesses such as Sam's Club and Discover. We are switching to Cosco.
all terms need to be read first and i think that if u dont have a active acct why would someone give u rewards if ur no longer with them to me makes sense not to give a reward. also i have sams credit cards and getting online is no problem for me the only thing is the username and password is case sensitive so make sure caps lock isnt on and i have to problme at all.
Read the terms, you ###. Tell me where I can find a "Cosco". Stupid idiot.
Wow cancelling membership because their website is slow? If people have such problems with the website...why not CALL THEM? Maybe there is an actual reason, rather than go in a huff about it. Also read the terms and conditions of the cards, chances are all of that stuff is listed in the top or near it.
Come on folks, we need to be SMARTER.
Member for thirty years but NO MORE...
For the last three months we've found Sam's site to be slow.
Can't even log-in today to cuss them out.
Slow website like their checkout and the exit line at the door.
NONE of my money will get tied up here.
Cancel me NOW.
See you at Costco...
defective scratch guard!
I purchased a pair of glasses from Sam's Club Optical less than 6 months ago. I purchased the Scratch Guard coating to be applied to them. To date, my glasses have several markings on both lenses that are jaggered looking. I took my glasses into the club where I purchased them and the lady there said she never saw anything like it.
Now, I where my glasses all day long and they are NEVER put in a glass case. I have never dropped my glasses and I only use the cleaner that Sam's Club sells. I wipe them with a soft hankerchief. When I am not wearing them, I sit them in my vanity cupboard.
I have another pair of glasses which I have had almost 7 years and I use these to wear outdoors doing yard work or when I am doing my hair and spraying hairspray. These glasses also have scratch guard on them. These glasses have been dropped, accidentally stepped on and have weathered daily use of many hair products. These glasses have one little scratch on them.
My complaint is that I believe that the scratch guard that was used on my glasses is defective or was not applied properly. My lens have no grooves or ridges to indicate any misuse of the lenses on my part. I have wore glasses all my life and have never encountered or seen anything like what I am seeing on my lenses.
They did offer to pay for the replacement of one lenses, however, told me they could not guarantee it would not happen again. Why would I want to have one lens replaced with the same coating only to know that it will happen again and I properly care of my glasses.
Thank you for your time and serious consideration.
All lenses manufactured now, come with a scratch-resistant coating and UV protection. It's not a separate item that you pay for, it's included in the purchase, at Sam's Club Optical. The only additional coating that you may have paid for is the Anti-Reflective coating. However, is mentioned above, it's called a "Scratch-Resistant" Coating, NOT A SCRATCH PROOF COATING. There is no such thing as a scratch proof coating or lens, and all lenses will scratch over time regardless of what type of coatings you have. The extent of the scratches depends on well you take care of you own lenses. Stop using a hankerchief or any type of Kleenex or paper towels, that are paper by-products. Only use cotton or micro-fiber clothes. Never use anything that has been washed or dried in fabric softner! Only clean lenses when they are wet, or have been rinsed!
I to have a pair of glasses I purchased at Sams Club that have either no scratch guard applied, or improperly done. I have followed all reccomendations, and have only used soft cotton and lens cleaner purchased at Sams or Wal mart. What can I do?
I work at Sears and things like that happen every once in awhile.
extended warranty &exceptional service&
I purchased a 42" plasma 1080p Eyefi television a little over a year ago... Along with a 3-year in home extended warranty/service program. The TV performed marvelously during this time. Beautiful picture. But last weekend it just died. I'm guessing the power supply went... No power light. I tried different power cords, different outlets. Nothing. I called...
Read full review of Sam's Club and 15 commentsfalse representation of 100% angus
Just bought American Choice Angus Beef Patties from Sam's Club. The outside of the box has 1/3 pound Angus Beef Patties in large print and small print indicates more fillers than a cafeteria meatloaf. As a consumer, I think it should not be allowed to say Angus Beef unless it is 100% and when it isn't, it must say clearly under the Angus Beef, what percentage. The same problem happened with Kona Coffee and it now requires when you use the name Kona Coffee, you must indicate what percent. FALSE ADVERTISING, MISREPRESENTATION! I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO SAM'S CLUB I HAVE HAD IT WITH BEING SCAMMED BY THEIR CON GAMES.
I raise purebred Angus Beef Cattle, and I agree that diluting the quality damages the reputation of a great breed of cattle that are known for tenderness, juiciness and flavor because the cattle marble so well. Anything else is a poor imitation of a real quality product. Ray Buck- Archer Angus www.archerangus.com
I agree and I am glad at least one other American understands the statement "Angus" means a registered Angus breed. There is not enough registered Angus cattle in the USA to supply one supply chain much less all the companies that have adopted the "Angus" advertisement scam. I have no idea why Kroger, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Hardees and other companies have not been sued for false advertisement. I guess because the attorneys in the USA are included in the ignorance of most Americans and believe the sales pitch. It is my understanding that the companies are declaring any animal that has any size black spot on coat as “Angus”. “Angus” means Angus, 100% registered with papers from American Angus Association. Come on lawyers quite being naive. Go to your local grocery store meat market that has “Angus Meat”. Ask the butcher to prove it is Angus. Ask “How do you know this is Angus”? None of them will have an acceptable answer. I have tried it. They look at you with a bland stare. They can’t answer. Come on lawyers, quite chasing the car crashes and workers comp claims. Kroger, Wal-mart, Sams Club and Hardees are large companies and have deep pockets. There are millions and millions to be made on this advertising scam. The correct method of selling beef is by USDA grade standards of; Prime, Choice, Select and Standard.

sweet poison
I recently purchased 300 count vitamin C chewable tablets from sams club, upon inspecting the ingredients I was shocked to find these health supplements contain the sweetener ASPARTAME, yes I realize ASPARTAME is much cheaper than other sweeteners, It is also a proven poison. It has caused cancer in laboratory animals. Its very scary when you buy something for your families health and it has this crap in it. I will spread the word. And may be other unsuspecting folks should read the book about aspartame I believe it is titled "SWEET POISON"
They do not manufacture the tablets they only sell them. The gas station down the street sells cigarettes, would you ### about that too. Next time buy an orange.
fraudulent charges
in late September of 2006 I purchased 2 box spring and mattress sets from Kinkaid Home Furnishings with my Sam's Club Discover Card. They were to be a 22 anniversary gift for my husband and I. The merchant agreed in writing to deliver w/i 7-10 days. I attempted to contact the merchant several times when the mattress delivery never occurred. There was no return to my calls and after 14 days, I went to the store to discuss the matter with the merchant. When I confronted him about the mattresses, he became verbally abusive. I then requested that he cancel my order and he refused. He followed me out of the store yelling all the while. I got into my car and called Sam's Club Discover and related my story. The customer service representative told me that I would not be responsible for the charges and that the claim would be put into dispute. After 2 months, however, I was contacted by Sam's Club Discover and was told that I needed to contact the merchant. By this time Kincaid was out of business. I have worked tirelessly on the claim. I continue to receive bills from Sam's Club Discover for the purchase along with interest and service charges for mattresses that I never received. Sam's Club Discover provided inaccurate information to me resulting in a decision on my part not to pursue claiming this merchandise and then reversed their original position requiring me to resolve the claim with the merchant when it was to late since the store was now out of business.
I have contacted the Dept. of Justice along with Consumer alert groups and local T.V. stations.
I would like to resolve this matter as soon as possible.
beware of sam's club computer warranty
Last year I purchased an HP Laptop from Sam's Club. The factory warranty from HP was one year.
I purchased an additional 2 years warranty from Sam’s. My first year service from HP was excellent. At the end of the warranty I had a mechanical problem with the mouse Pad and sent it to Sam’s warranty Co for service. They returned it un- repaired with no explanation. I called and was told that the warranty would not apply because the machine had been abused. After lengthy discussion they claimed that that there was water damage to the inside of the machine. This made no sense to me, so the same day I took the machine to Port Charlotte Computer Service in Port Charlotte Fl for inspection. They opened up the machine while I observed. Guess what? There was no sign of water damage or any other type of foreign matter inside of the laptop.
I immediately called HP factory service and told them my problem. They gave me a 35 day courtesy extension on my original warranty and sent a box for me to return the unit. HP found no contamination of any type and repaired the unit under warranty and returned it FedEx overnight. The repaired machine was back to me in three days.
I’m thrilled with the super service from HP and have transferred my extended warranty to them. I’m disappointed with Sam’s Club and the apparently unethical warranty facility. Sam’s Club was of no help at all when I told them of my problem.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I am getting rather concerned, I am preparing to contact the Extended Warranty group about my ice maker. I purchased it about 10 months ago and it has gotten to where it won't work, it keeps saying the bin is full but there is no ice. It is a counter top ice maker and I bought the 2 year extended warranty, but I am curious as to if it is going to even be worth the hassle, not to mention the money paid, if they refuse to do anything. I will let you know what happens after I contact them. Wish me luck!
Purchased an extended warranty called Square trade from Sams, same time purchased TV from Sams. It expires clear up into 2019. Square trade told me to have our 70" Visio TV repaired ourselves, and send our receipt of repairs to them, and they would review it for payment. Said that was our only option to get it repaired. This TV cost $2300.00 and it will not even come on. I figure it would cost as much to fix it, as what we paid for it. Their adds say they will repair it fast. Says will send a technician to your home quick. We have never had a Technician call us, email us, etc., directly, and we are not about to depend on Square Trade to reimburse us to repair it. Would you? Ha! It was a total joke to believe they would repair it fast. Sure they will. You bet they will! Sams says to work it out with Square trade. That's funny don't ya think? Forget about Sams helping to get your TV repaired on an extended. warranty. BEWARE!
The case on my laptop purchased from sam's club with an extended warranty has broken. there has been no abuse to it. on of the screw holes will no longer hold the screw in. the warranty place will replace the case, but only if they also format the hard drive. there is nothing wrong with the hard drive or any other hardware on the computer. there is nothing wrong with the hard drive. this is ludicrous. I will not allow them to format a perfectly working hard drive when they only need to replace the case.
I will no longer buy anything from sam's club and get there extended warranties. I encourage every sam's club member to do the same. do not buy extended warranties from sam's club. buy only the factory warranties in the future.
I am a primary card holder on an account that has spent over $3, 000, 000 in the life of the membership. I took a friend with me who wanted to purchase a television that was on sale. He purchased black socks, a 42in flat, and the extended warranty. A year and ten months later the television broke and he doesn't have the receipt nor did he register the warranty. No big deal because Sam's Club keeps track of purchases up to two years of the purchase date. They have the purchased socks on record but no warranty or television. It looks like this sue chef who works 40-80 hours a week at near minimum wage is SOL. How can they have record of the socks but not the television or warranty purchased at the same time? SCAM!
We have the receipt and, SQUARE TRADE WARRANTY that we purchased thru Sams Club, will not fix our 70" Visio TV. The warranty does not expire until 2019. It probably would not help to have a receipt! Sams has did nothing yet to help with obtaining assistance in getting Square Trade Warranty to make good on their Warranty, to provide the provisions of what they say they will do in the hand out Warranty specs Sams gave us upon TV purchase.
well yeah what do you expect from these criminals, ever see walmart documentary? this is a horrible company, and the idiots that work there have nerve to even show their face on here deserved to get their [censor] kicked, and yes by me if you have a problem with what i'm saying.
I'll never shop with Sam's Club/Walmart again for future purchases. I purchased an HP Pavilion for my wife from Sam's Club in early 2009 with an extended 1yr warranty. In Janurary 2010, we noticed that the piece of the case which covers the PowerSupply unit had fallen off of the unit which caused the laptop to no longer charge the battery. We promptly sent this laptop in for repairs because it was still covered by the extended warranty.
At first our claim was denied due to "Excessive Damage" which was ridiculous since the only thing this laptop needed was the panel replaced covering the PSU and after several weeks of back and forth between the Warranty Company and the repair company, we were told our laptop would be repaired.
Another 3 weeks go by without a response from either company so I had to call Sam's Club again to find out just what was going on. I was told that the laptop was shipped back unrepaired because the claim was denied to to the laptop "Being Dropped" which was incorrect and even a cursory glance of this unit would prove that the unit had not been dropped, struck, or abused in any way. To add insult to injury, the repair company couldn't even find our laptop and claimed to have shipped it back early April.
All told, my wife has been without her laptop for nearly 2 months now with the warranty company refusing to honor our claim. I've become very frustrated with the made-up excuses and their deniel of their responsibility to honor the warranty agreement. We're going to be Costco customers from now on.
Geez. I wish I would have read all this prior to getting an extended warranty for my bissell carpet cleaner. it quit working in february. I call the warranty people and they tracked down a shop nearby for me to take it for repair. the shop had to wait close to 4 months for parts from bissell. when they tried to submit my warranty info, it was rejected due to the work not being completed within 30 days of complaint. so the shop tried to call the warranty people to get it cleared up and was told that I needed to call warranty and get a new requistion number. this is so I can give it to the shop for submittal. so the shop can get paid. I am working on my 5th phone call to warranty since they don't call back - ever! and even though my last phone call was annotated as a priority (I was dumb for believing it again!), still no call back. the repair shop has had my fixed bissell since the end of june and can't released it till they get paid... you see the vicious cycle? stay away from sam's affiliated warranty programs. unless you're a glutton for punishment!
I have just had the same problem. I had purchased a 4 year warranty for my iPod touch 16 gb. I've been using it consistently for 2 years. The iPod started to crash every so often after a year or so. Then just recently, it stopped charging from any source until it finally died and could not be recharged. I called the support and they had me send it in. A few days later I recieved it, no change to it at all. They did the EXACT same thing, sent it back claiming "physical damage - water damage corrosion". I am very upset with this, because I know I have not mistreated this at all, and I have never let it near a water source at all.
I am having a rather distressing experience with Sams club extended warranty on a 42 inch Philips Plasma TV. I bought it in Oct. 2005 and it went out in May 2009. My wife called to see how to proceed to get it fixed and was told that the TV wasn't covered. It was a three year extended warranty and was supposed to be in effect though at the time I wasn't sure of the date it was purchased and how the warranty was supposed to work! Having that information and not considering that the denial was false, I hired Sears to come and see if the set could be fixed. They charged a hundred dollars and pronounced it not worth fixing due to it needing a new power supply and the main circuit board and another secondary board. With that information I went to Sams and purchased another TV of similar value and also the extended warranty. The cashier was very informative and explained that the three year warranty kicks in when the one year factory warranty is over. I didn't think much about it until I talked with my wife and she informed me that the receipt said 10/05! I had unpacked and set the TV up and was using it by this time. After realizing that I bought a $2300 TV that wasn't supposed to be bought, I talked with the store management and was told I couldn't return the TV and would have to allow the warranty co. all the time they wanted to fix the broken one or determine that it wasn't repairable. The warranty company has not been able to fix it and continually order parts to try them out in the set to see if that will repair it. I am sick of dealing with them as they do not call when they say they will, come when they say they will come and treat me like I am stupid and inpatient! I would not buy another electronic device from Sams or recommend their warranty company either! I will more than likely have to sue them to get any satisfaction from this nightmare. Buyer beware. Oh...We have been Sams Club members since 2003 and have spent thousands of dollars at the store. I even helped get a family member a job there who now feels uncomportable going to work there. This comment isnt necesarrily about the warranty but the poster who commented about bad customer service at Sam's Club and didn't know you couldn't use someone else's card... Just a question, what did you think the purpose of a picture and name on the card were for, decoration? And even if you are in the same household, if everyone could use anybody's card, what would be the purpose of charging a membership fee or having a card period? Think!
tired of being ripped!
First, let me say that Paula of Sams Club Membership stated that other consumers would see this as a poor me versus poor service. If you do, that is fine, however I believe there are likely many more Humans out there, who are tired of being ripped. On November 4, 2006, I purchased a 9ft Christmas Tree and 3 boxes of Stainless Steel Landscape lights from...

Service is difficult enough to find at Sam's Club; but, this lack of service is tolerated in that they frequently have lower pricing. It does not bother me that they do not supply bags in that I prefer to use my own. I am an enviromentalist and as such I have mesh bags and canvas bags that I use each time I purchase groceries or other items that fit within...

I have shopped at Sam's Club in Palm Desert and several times we did have problems in the tire department but it was resolved to our satisfaction only when we made a threat of reporting to the main Walmart Office in Arkansas. Otherwise, it is OK store. The staff is friendly. It is a more pleasant place to shop than at Costco. Less crowded. Costco does have better hot dogs than at Sam's. Sam's has unsweetened iced tea which is pretty much the only thing a diabetic person can drink besides water. Diet drinks are a no-no for diabetics. Meat I think is better at Sam's than at Costco. Sam's 10% ground beef is the best burger meat I had ever seen. Great for meat sauce too! Do not have to drain fat at all!
Water Resistant and Water Proof are two entirely different things ###
The customer service at Sams Club in Palm Desert is the worse. The only reason I have a membership there is I use my Citibank MasterCard and recieve my airline miles...COSTCO only allows American Express for crit cards and accept debit cards..perhaps COSTCO should start allowing other credit cards for payment, they might increase their membership of Sams Club members...and another point, Sams Club does not price match to Sams Club Web specials...a bad business practice.
I too am a Costco member and decided to give the La Quinta one a try as well as the Palm Desert one too. If you go in there is only one cashier go across the way to costco there is alway 5 or more open, and people lined up with stufff.
The only reason I got a Sams Club card was because they had Rockband 2 and Costco did not. The Guitar failed to work after one month, I went back and they told me I needed the Box! Do you Realize How Freaking Big that box is. I told her that I was not going to keep the box around, taking up room, on the off chance I might have to return it!
COSTCO ROCKS! I have retunred an xbox with no box or manuals and the just asked what was wrong, RROD and that was it took it back gave me back my money and I walked out with a new Xbox. I am Glad costco now has Rock band 2! and World Tour!
See, this is why I do not have a membership with Sam's Club. I wanted to go into one once, just to see whether it would be worth getting a membership. I was stopped outside and asked for my membership card. They told me I could not go inside unless I was a member. I said, "So I cannot even look inside and determine if I want a membership, until I pay $40 (at the time) for a membership?" The response was "yes". So I said, fine, I will go back to BJ's. At least they allow people to go in and determine if the cost of the membership is worth it.
