went to buy movie tickets online through Fandango.com and Reservation Rewards window popped up and asked if I wanted to receive coupons via email. A year and a half later, they were debiting my checking account $17.95 and $12.00 every single month. This company has to be stopped...

During my Freshman year in college, I got a coupon under my door saying that for this weekend only I could purchase a take-out dinner from one of three separate restaurants in Mount Pleasant (where I went to school) for only $2 each from campusdining.com. Since I wasn't a registered member of campusdining.com, I had to sign up (for free) before I could make the orders. I happily complied, ordered my food, was charged the correct amount, and never went on campusdining.com ever again.

I started receiving e-mails every two weeks from Reservation Rewards about additional coupons and discount offers. I assumed that Campus Dining and Reservation Rewards were affiliated, and just deleted the e-mails. Since I was new to having a debit card (I got it when I started college), I only checked my account balance, and not all the transactions made on my card. Near the end of my freshman year, my mom went online to check my bank account, and noticed that Reservation Rewards had been deducting $10 every month from my bank account, which at that point was $90 all together. I was furious. I never gave Reservation Rewards my card information and I never authorized any transactions!

Me, as well as my mother, e-mailed Reservation Rewards several times and complained and asked for my money back. Neither of us ever got a response. My mom told me I'd never get my money back, and blamed me for not checking my transactions. Now that I'm older, I realize that I should CALLED and complained, but the fact remains that this company took money from me that I did not authorize. Their practices are shady and unethical!

I was checking my card statements and noticed I was billed $12 for reservation rewards twice and I could not recall if I bought something from that company. I called a phone number that was attached to the transaction and found out it was coupon company and I asked how they got my info and they told me I authorized them to charge me from buying movie tickets from www.movietickets.com I told them I did not want the services they provided and they told me they would cancel my membership as of today and not charge me again. the operator then began to close the conversation but I interupted her and I told her I wanted a refund for the $24 and she told me no problem and sorry for the inconvience and told me the money would be refunded in 2 to 3 business days. read everything befor submitting! this is a true scam but I feel for it because I was to lazy to scroll down and read the disclaimers or uncheck some stupid box... BEWARE guys and be careful when buying online.

I logged into my bank account and saw an overdraft on my account due to a charge of $12. I called the bank and they gave me the 1-800 number to the people who were charging me who I never heard of before in my life! Of course, reservationrewards.com

It turns out, that according to them I signed up for there BS service when I bought a hardrive on Buy.com (at the beginning of the summer).Today is October 1st and when I called them it turns out that they've been charging me for 5 months (do the math, 5x12=$60). They were quick as *** to give me my money back, especially when I told the guy that I did a Google search on the 1800 number and told him all the hits I got back saying how it was a scam. As a matter of fact before speaking to customer service, canceling there service was one of the first options to dial. I just got off the phone so now I'm waiting for my money. I'm sure as *** not going to let them off the hook. That's how you have to deal with people like this, keep *** until they set things straight. Today is Wednesday, if buy Monday (the third business day) I don-t get my money back I'm filling a police report and/or joining whatever class act there is against them.

Don't *** with consumer if you don't want them to *** you back.

Today 10/02/08, I was refunded to my credit card 210 dollards for 21 months of services by Reservation Rewards. I called the 800 number listed on my credit card bill ([protected]) a couple of days ago to find out about it. The operator told me I had agreed to the service when I bought tickets for a movie online. I said I would not do that and that I had never used the services. I requested a full refund and to my surprise, two days later, I got it according to my credit card activity (throught the web). If you are also a victim, call them and demand your money back! Is there an agency of the gov we can report this illicit conduct to?

After ordering a box of cigars from Thompson Cigars a $10.00 discount appeared on my screen. I thought it was from thompsons Cigars. When I clicked for the discount it disappeared, and I never gave it a thought until I noticed $12.00 taken from my account.

I called Thompsons and was told to call the third party company [Reservations Rewards] to cancel my membership. I called [protected] to cancel, and they did. I demanded they refund my money, and they said they would.

I signed up for campusfood.com which was a convenient way for me to order take out from certain restaurants close to my school at late hours. The site is great but the page that comes up after you order is a scam. Reservation rewards says it gives you 10 dollars for your next campus food purchase. i never clicked the link but for some reason it automatically signed me up and reservation rewards has been charging me $12 since october. 48 dollars later i am furious, yeah its only 50 dollars but I'm a college student.

If campus foods was smart they would take notice of this fraud and do something about it because hundreds of college students have been ripped off as well as many many others. I haven't tried to get my money back yet but I immediately canceled my 'membership' of reservation rewards and will call the company asap as well as my bank to get my money refunded. if you see reservation rewards on your bank statements or come across it on the internet make sure you cancel your 'membership' immediately so this doesn't happen to you.

I too was ripped off by this company. I purchased something in September 2008 from www.creativethoughts.net, and ever since then my credit card has been charged $11 and $12 a month. I just called now, February 2009, and was told by Reservation Rewards that I subscribed to them, which I didn't. They are refunding my account within 3-5 business days. I asked for a confirmation number and employee number of the person I spoke to. But I'm sure I'll have to call again in a week because it won't be done!

After making a purchase online from Barnes and Noble, what appeared to be a rebate form popped up. I clicked around, trying to make sense of it, then forgot about it. Now, every month I get a $12 charge from Reservation Rewards. This was NEVER authorized. They got my card number from the Barnes and Noble purchase. A class action suit needs to be initiated. And boycott Barnes and Noble for using this deceptive company.

I unknowingly, was signed up with Reservation Rewards in 2007. I was purchasing a photo book that I had made online with Shutterfly.com. When I was trying to purchase the photo book the Reservation Rewards popped up and said check here if you would like to receive a $10 coupon. I mistakenly did check that box and unknowingly they have been debiting my credit card $10 every month.

I have received nothing for this $10 except for annoying and deceptive e-mail offers that I always need to delete. I was wondering why my spam filter did not get rid of them. I several times tried to opt out of receiving further e-mails but it did not work.

Shutterfly, the merchant of whom this scam is connected with, actually receives profits from Reservation Rewards when they signed me up and from monthly billings. Evidently, Reservation Rewards has 140 affiliate websites they use to promote this scam. I have contacted Shutterfly about this and to date I have not heard from them. I will no longer use this company for my photo books or merchandise because of this. Since I spent $895 last year with them, they stand to lose more than me. Which brings me to my closing statement. What comes around, goes around.

I was recently browsing my bank statements today and noticed a charge for $12 on my bank statement, well i called my bank and found out they have charged me $12 last month and again this month. I never authorized this company to charge my account and had the bank flag it as fraud. I'm not sure how they got my credit card number, but I do know you should cancel your card.

I agree, I too have received the same charges after purchasing from Tiger Direct.ca. Any one who has used their site please review your credit card. I looked into this matter closer and discovered that if you take advantage of the discount offer at the end of your purchase you are actually signing a contract to the monthly charges. How do they get your credit card number? They get it from tiger direct because its in the agreement. Notify your credit card provider immediately to stop any further charges but you have to ensure you have done due diligence and made attempts to contact Reservation Rewards. I have received two numbers so far [protected] and [protected] to call. An email will help (Physical document) you show your attempts. Good luck, the internet is full of this.

Found out that I've been charged $12/month for my membership in reservation rewards. I somehow signed up for it when buying plane tickets in February 2008 through Orbitz.com. The charges have been made to my Citibank credit card. The credit card company will not allow me a dispute past 60 days. I talked with two people up from the the initial customer service representative. The last supervisor at Citibank said she cannot go back due to a restriction set on her by the Visa M/C International.

Reservation rewards has canceled my 'membership' and says that it will reimburse me for $24 of the $156 thus far paid. At this point I am out $156 for no service or goods. If they do reimburse the $24 I will still be out $132. I have contacted the Attorney General's office of California through an email with a cc: to reservation rewards's customer service email.

I went through the same thing. After a long search and talking to alot of people there, it all came down to ordering Pizza hut pizza online, when you do that it has a little hiding place to approve reservation rewards when you submit your order to pizza hut. Have you ordered pizza lately online?

Well said.

I see that Reservation Rewards is replying regularly to these on line complaints, but shutterfly, where are you? I'm beyond furious that a company with whom I've spent hundreds of dollars and trusted would share my credit card information with such a shady outfit.

Hello? Is the money you're getting from reservation rewards worth the number of customers you're losing over this? Can you say "trashed reputation?"

Shame on shutterfly. Shame on reservation rewards. I've been burned.

This continues to be a problem. I was charged $12 today through my debit card by Reservation Rewards. After a very frustrating conversation with a customer service rep (who asked me for additional information that I declined to provide), I advised him that I would handle it through my bank. I have never recevied an e-mail from this company and they would not provide the e-mail address associated with the account. According to the rep, I became a member a month ago. Completely untrue. Has anyone figured out how they get credit/debit card information?

Yup, I just realized that my account has been billed $12 for the last 3 months by "Reservation Rewards". I had no idea I had authorized this company to charge to my bank account.

I have sent an email to RR's customer service address, plan on calling them and will get with my bank ASAP.

Thanks to all who have posted http://www.webmarketingsettlement.com/ - I, too, was being ripped off for $12.00 every month until I caught it today and then came here to complaintsboard.com (GREAT site, folks! Thanks!). Having browsed to http://www.webmarketingsettlement.com/ I see there WAS indeed a large class-action suit filed against these folks, but the complain submission deadline passed last January. However, I called RR's customer service # [protected] and found that the agents answering the phone are authorized to refund a maximum of 4 months - $48 - to the same card that was being billed. The agent sent me an email confirming both the RR account termination and the refund to be deposited into my CC account within 3-5 days. Although that does not reimburse me entirely (I was charged $12 per month for the past 7 months by RR), it does ease some of the sting.

Again, to cancel your RR account AND get a 4-month, $48 refund, call RR's customer service # [protected] option3

Thanks to all who either worked in the class action suit, or who work here at complaintsboard.com - you folks do noble work.
