Red Roof Nightmare
I made a reservation on line requesting a non smoking room for 1 adult and 1 child. I checked in the Abington VA site at 3 p.m. on 10/13/23 and found I was to be in a smoking room but I could and did pay an additional $26 to be in a nonsmoking room and left and returned at midnight to go to my room. During which time I experienced some car trouble and reported that I couldn't stay for the 2nd night. I was told that there could not be a refund because it was paid through a 3rd party. When we went to the room I found several unpleasant sites. The microwave was so dirty I refused to use it.. Everything from the top blanket, sheets, pillowcases mattresses had hair, urine, food and tears on both beds. The bathroom door scrapped the ceiling and was hard to open or close. The bathtub was dirty and it had black mold at the bottom where the floor was. As I looked through the bedding I took it off the beds and placed them in a corner. The floors looked like it had never been mopped. We slept in our sleeping bags without pillows. I came back to the room at midnight and left 4 hours later. Those 4 hours cost me $233 and if you think I'm writing this to get a refund you should see the 30 pictures I took. What now?
Recommendation: Clean the place up. Don't put the dirty linens back on the beds. If a piece is worn or stained replace it.

15 minutes before check-in, I received emails cancelling 2 of the rooms. We had traveled over 500 miles for a wedding. Refund of hotel deposit
I checked into Hometowne Studios Rancho Cordova Ca on March 30 2022 using a Mastercard to pay for the room deposit. I checked out on August 22 2023. During my 18 month stay the credit card I used had been lost and replaced with a new card. I forgot to inform the hotel of the card number before I checked out.
Once I informed the front desk of problem, I was told I would be sent a check for the deposit amount but it would take up to 12 weeks. After the 12 weeks passed, I called the property and was unable to get in contact with anyone who could help me. I called, emailed and wrote to the corporate offices and eventually was told by the property that a check would be issued. Although I supplied my current address in all my calls and correspondence, I was told my refund check could be sent to the address I had when I checked in. That address was temporary- I haven't lived there in 5 years, so there is no forwarding order there for me.
It has now been 7 months since I checked out of that hotel and I have no indication that I will ever get my money back. I belong to the rewards program for this hotel chain and would have anticipated better service.Hotel

Racial profiling
Hello! My name is Andres Batton and I visiting Miami for a needed medical procedure. I secured my reservation at the due to its distance from the airport.
However, upon approaching the counter, employee named Michelle instantly greeted me with disdain. I provided her with my reservation, and she help proceed to pretend that she couldn't find it. She then asked for my "real" ID and continued to attempt to give me a hard time to check in, even after proving its validly.
She then demanded that I show her proof of purchase. Once she realized that she couldn't find a reason to deny my reservation. She then threated to charge me $250 if there is any evidence of blood on the sheets, pillows, showers. or any other place in the hotel, even though my bandages are properly wrapped.
As I waited for others (non-African Americans) to check in, I noticed they were not given the same threat or similar warnings. As a resolution, I would like for the entire staff to be tried on respect, diversity, inclusion, and superior hospitality. I would like a formal accommodation and apology and a complete refund for my stay. I reapproached the counter and he completely ignored me and address the Hispanic lady behind me.

Broken Toilet
Was sitting on the toilet, as I was getting up, the toilet shifted sideways, knocking me into the side of the bathtub and landing on top of me. I promptly reported the situation to the desk clerk who was dismayed and refunded my damage deposit. Tried several times to phone the general manager with no response. Was charged $250 for damages for which I was not responsible. Have emailed him but am getting no resolution. Disgusting.

Good evening I stayed at Red Roof which is located in Delaware on Dupont. First, when I got to the room the bed wasn't made up I was tired I made it up myself and went to bed and I took the pillowcase off. The washcloth was dirty and the bath towel was so unkempt. My daughter and I reserved a room here on 11/10/23. When we checked in there was only one person working the lobby. I guess they were under staffed which is understandable. Our room was a Non-Smoking King size room. When we opened the door to go in there was no air flow and it smelled really bad. We go in and as soon as we step over the threshold there were insects flying all over the room. We go to the bed to check it, which I always do. The sheets and comforter was all wrinkled up. I pull all the covers back and there is dirt and hair all over the sheets and pillows. I finished the walk through by going to look at the bathroom. The vent was hanging off the wall exposing wires and there were dirty towels hanging behind the door. There was also hair all over the tub. I told him I would still be upset but I guess it would work because I really didn't want to drive home late after our event. He proceeds to put me on hold while he called the front desk of the Hotel. A few minutes later he come back on the line and said he called twice and could not get an answer. I then tell him to file the complaint and we are leaving because I can't see spending the night in this place. He told me he understood and I should be hearing back from corporate in 48 hours. Well 48 hours passed and I finally just had to call them again. I finally got a response from them and they told me to sign up for RediPoints on redroof.com and they were going to give me a goodwill gesture of 2125 points to go to a future reservation. Well, I did that and you can't even get a $25 gift card to a restaurant for those points. It showed it took 7500 points to get a free night stay at a Red Roof Inn. I replied to the email and told them I was not accepting that offer. Needless to say, I have not heard back.

Booked through booking.com Wed Oct 11 to Sun Oct 15. I was delayed and could not arrive until Thurs Oct 12, so through the booking.com site used the "Contact the property" and emailed the hotel to advise them that I was going to arrive the Thurs instead, was happy to pay for the room for the Wed and did still want the room Thurs to Sun.
I arrive on Thurs to find they have cancelled the reservation. Best part - the front desk is on the phone calling all the folks that have reservations that have not yet shown up to see if they still want their room. I NEVER got a call. I never got an email to advise they had cancelled it. Nothing. And they never notified Booking.com at all.
The front desk was able to get another guest to give up one of their rooms so we could use it the Thurs night. So we had to check out Fri am, check back in Fri night (giant pain). The room also wasn't what we booked, and had a crappy awful plastic covered pull out so neither of us slept as the pull out was awful and noisy so it kept both of us awake.
Fri was uneventful. Sat night was cold, so we turned the heater on. HUGE mistake. The heater is clearly malfunctioning, and filled the room with acrid smoke that set off the alarm within about 10 seconds of us turning the heat on so we had to turn the AC on on full all night, sleep with the bathroom fan/light on all night, and I was up until almost 11 with the door of the room open trying to air it out. As the hotel was full, there were no other options so we were stuck there. I notified the hotel about the issue, they didn't seem overly concerned.
I contacted booking.com about the issue and was advised that the room should not have been cancelled in the first place as it was paid in full, and at no time were they notified by the hotel it had been. When Booking.com called the hotel directly, the hotel LIED and told them I had called and asked for the room to be cancelled (interesting as I was given a different story when I arrived on the Thursday). I would recommend NEVER staying at a Red Roof Inn. It was a terrible experience.
Note that after hanging up with Booking.com and getting a feeling the hotel was unwilliing to do anything, I called Corporate Customer service. After about 15 minutes, he disconnected and didn't call back. I called a different customer service number, another long hold, then told he can't help and I'd have to call Corporate back again. So I've been hours on the phone at this point trying to resolve this. Given how terrible the service has been to date, I guess I shouldn't be suprised the complaints line has a huge call volume.
Desired outcome: At a minimum, I want the Wed night stay and the Sat night stay refunded. Frankly, the whole thing should be as it was beyond stressful (I have a dog, so it's not easy to just go elsewhere apart from almost everywhere being booked up).
