RD has been in crooked business more that 60 years. They are the Mother of all moderns crooks. A 'civilized' society doesn't have any crook like this. Their civilization is to f**ck their mothers on the streets.

There is no justice in Canada against these crooks for the immigrants. Human Rights Commissions are funny things, Consumers Right of Canada is another hoax.

Same thing happened to my husband. ..never has or had picked up a Readers
Digest in his life and whoala he gets a letter about winning $500k and
5 star hotel stays Tours of attractions in Sydney, come on! I know dreams are for free but
to crush someone's hope of ever winning anything because of misleading and deceptive representation it's a bloody wonder no ones taken L Kanna and Readers Digest to the Consumers board as this is in total breach if the Consumers Guarantees Act.

Reader's Digest keeps sending my parents books that they have not ordered. And then sending them the bill for it. They do not want any of these books at all. They need to stop sending them information about these books they are elderly and they are getting conned into trying to buy things they do not want.

    To Whom it May Concern:
On July 5th I received a letter from Reader's Digest which stated that : We are pleased ro announce the release of our sweepstakes draw held on January 28, 2010 among eligible participants your entry was one of the randomly selected finalists. As the Grand Prize winner you qualified to receive the amount of 45, 000.00 credited to claim code W95D-Y11 Congratulations!
Please contact Customer Care representative Erin Cheng at the prize distribution dept. for additional information & processing of your claim and activation of the check enclosed ($3, 965.10) at [protected] with your entry claim code for verification as soon as you receive this notification to avoid any delays and forfeiting of unclaimed prize funds. No purchase or skill testong question required.
Needless to say I have called many times and was told to leave my name & number and best time to call. Never received a return call. Now when I call I am told to try again later.
This letter appears to be authentic and has a BBB Walmart, Sears/KMart. Target Home depot Zellers and Macy's logos on it.
It is signed by John G. Kimmons - Prize award Administrator
PLEASE confirm if this is in fact legitimate and tell me how to claim my prize.
As I was unemployed for over 3 years and was just recently hired by Macy's in a Part Time position, this would certainly be a superb help to me.
I would appreciate your response at your earliest possible convenience.

    Thank You,

got a postcard (with my current Reader's Digest) that says "3 Free Gifts are waiting for you. claim then today at www.readersdigest.com/myfreegifts" but that web site ONLY wants to sell you additional subscription of the magazine - NO mention whatsoever of my 3 free gifts - where they are, what they are, or how to claim them - this is VERY deceptive !!

hi there, im from the philippines, i also received that kind of letter from Reader's Digest and apparently tied up to HSBC credit card. stating that i am qualified to win Six Million Pesos and other large amount of 800, 000/ 3.3 million and two 100, 000 pesos all presented thru a sheet of "cheques" and a dummy key for a brand new car (picture can be seen in the encloure of "yes" reply envelope. attracting innocent people to those amounts just to invite them for a subscription. i opened this letter in front of our desktop computer, surprised of course!! so i urged to look up on this matter to the web. found out that this thing is a mear international scam, imagine!! same thing happened from canada, malaysia and singapore NOW crawling in the philippines. somehow i am very disappointed to HSBC credit card for allowing this kind of foolish form of marketing to deceive people.

I received via mail a box containing 3 books. On the cover of the box was a statement that the books were free. Later on I received a bill for the books. I have not ordered any books from Reader's Digest; therefore, I don't believe that I should pay them for what they said was free. I would have returned them to sender if that statement had not been on the box. I believe that they are practicing fraud via the U. S. Mail.

you never have to pay for anything you did not order.
I also received a similar book which I still have with the letter, and the box all stating free gift after I had entered a readers digest contest, but did not order anything.
I'm shortly to send all of the mailings and mine to the United States Justice department, The United States federal Trade Commission, and the United States postal service.

Once again, we are paying for something I don't recall ordering. We have received in the past some of the hardback bound story collections, which I did not order but decided to keep anyway, and payfor. This happened several times, and each time I lost a little more patience at being taken advantage of. This last time, I wrote on the package in BIG BOLD marker "return to sender", yet the bills keep coming.
Let it be known now that this is the LAST time I will EVER order/pay/communicate with this company. Shame on you for your shady practices! I am copying this email and intend to refuse ANY MORE packages that come my way. If I ever receive another nasty threat, I will be taking all this correspondence to my lawyer.

So here is a World Class company from the Aussies down under, but the South African branch is a far cry from World Class! I have paid for a full year's subscription and to date I have only received 5 copies of the supposed 12. It's absolutely no use dealing with the call centre as they are based in another country and the staff in the call centre really struggle to understand what you are saying - they all sound Mexican! E-mailing them is not of much use either-I sent one explaining the situation and they came back saying that they have cancelled my subscription as per my request(I never asked them to cancel the subscription) and the Magazines will stop coming, but if any do arrive in the interim I may keep it with compliments - WITH COMPLIMENTS? HA! I paid for them! Reader's Digest owes me either the money back for books not received or the books I paid for. Crazy isn't it?! So yes, I wasted R254.00 on a 1 year subscription and I will never make that mistake again. Neither will I ever deal with Reader's Digest or recommend that anybody else use them! They are unprofessional and incompetent.

I just received a 4, 970.15 dollar check even though they said that I won 145, 000.00 dollars. They told me to contact them at this number [protected] so that they could activate the check and they said that there name is Wendy Lewis, and the prize coordinator is David Washington. The ironic thing is that when I called nobody is answering the telephone and you can here black people in the back ground. It's annoying that people actually do things like that to one another.
