The new program director is rude and condescending. She had me unenrolled the day before finals and the last day of class for an error in attendance. I had proof on my phone I was in class. She ignored me told me to take it up with the instructor who was quitting anyway so he didn't care. Then come to find out the same instructor was counting me present back in the fall when I had dropped the class and had proof. so she would not let me continue after being half way done with the program. Even though it was an error on her instructors.

On April 1st I received an email of dismissal from the LPN program after retaking Medsurg 2 and paying 5,600 out of pocket failing my comp exam by 3 questions I spoke with the assistant administrator in regards to whom I needed to speak to speaking that the student is unable to guarantee exactly what they’ve scored on these computerized exams. I was told she would look into it and it’s concerning because I failed this class by the exact amount of questions. The staff who’s responsible to help you succeed cares none and it’s proven to be a school all about the money.

When you have to prove to the teachers that you aren’t lying about a family situation, is very upsetting. No one who teachers or works within Galen shows any sort of compassion towards their students in difficult times. To have to bend over backwards to prove you aren’t lying is not acceptable, they make is so difficult it’s not even worth trying to provide the documentation.

I took Med Surg and passed the class, but was put into the ATI remediation because I did not pass the ATI.

During the independent study class, the teacher did not take row, it was just expected the students put their names in the chat box for attendance.

I forgot to do this, I am a single mother, so it’s hard to remember everything while listening to school and your kid scream.

I was dropped from the class, stating I missed a day and didn’t have everything turned in.

To this day, there are students who are missing work.

I was there on zoom, but was falsely dropped.

I have to retake Med Surg, which will put me 6 months behind.

I am furious and this is why people drop out of nursing school!

I have called the admissions office at the Nashville campus twice, and both occasions the woman answering the phone was rude. The first time I called was to get information about their programs and see if I could schedule a tour and schedule a time to speak with an enrollment counselor. She was rude and had an attitude with each question I had. She would do a heavy sigh and was very snappy. I called back today (Tuesday, July 19, 2022) to ask how long does it take to receive our score from the TEAS test since the results are disabled online and see if there is anything they recommend students do in the meantime. The same woman answered the phone after answering my first question, she HUNG UP THE PHONE! She replied 72 hours in a rude way and hung up. I didn’t get a chance to ask her my second question, nor did she bother to ask if I had any more questions. This lady needs a lot of training in customer service. She seems to hate her job and should be in the admissions department.

Your students dont own the road and neither does the college. Educate them on not tailgating someone on their way into class. If I need to get in touch with another department, let me know. This stretch of road will become very busy in the next few years and the city does not need your students contribuing to the wrecks.

I completed my LPN at Galen then went on to pursue my Rn. After only a month in the program I find out they never filed my financial aid as they said they would. They admitted to me it was their fault for all the problem and gave me an F in my classes which I never failed. I have never failed a class, this is what they listed for me in attempt to get rid of me. They wanted me to go find another school after they had taken my money the first time I was there. When I went to return to complete my Rn and was accepted into the RN program, they said i did not qualify for title IV funding. When i tried to find out in detail why, they would not give me answer . I asked over and over with no reply given only told to refer to student handbook. They take your money and lie. The office is so interested in herding students in like cattle to take your money then your on your own .. to fight your way with them to get your education. They are all about a dollar and do not care for their students. I had also went to Ivy tech in the past and never once had this problem. Galen is unorganized and fraudulent. They miscalculate financial aid and the student never knows about it unless you dig into it and calculate it yourself. Very Sad. You basically teach yourself at this school. They offer busy work classes rather than educational nursing classes overall. They have such high turnover of young hired staff in the administration office and these young kids and people they hire have no clue as how to manage prior funds or read and discuss with people. It is like going to a bad used car lot. Galen is only out for what they can get and then its Forget YOU! Dont waste your time or money because they wont waste a minute on you to help you succeed. Thats the truth. They treat their students like little kids, not adults . At least not the same adult that pays them 26, 0000 dollars for their program. You are treated like an adult for one day.. the day they sign you up. $$$$$$$ Ruthless school.
