We have had consistently high ping rates, less than half of the paid-for download speed, inconsistent connection, poor customer service response time, poor "technician" repairs, and even got laughed at by the tech when we said our actual speed didn't even closely match what we pay for.
We finally made the jump to Spectrum, and they gave us an install date of Apr. 8th, a week out. CenturyLink then cuts off our phone and internet service before that date. We tried to get this resolved, but their shameful customer "service" transferred us to 5 different "teams", none of which had any info from the former people, and our requests we're not even understood since none of them spoke English as a second or even 3rd language. They offered to bill us for 8 days of intermittent connection, saying "it may come on and off, we don't know, we have no control over that", and gave us a run-around for an hour and a half. Spite. Sheer spite, that's all it is, and greed.
My grandmother wanted to switch about 2 years ago before she passed, and they did the same thing to her unannounced, and erased something like 20 years of account history, telling her she needed to pay to get reconnected when the other provider unexpectedly said she couldn't get that service.
I'd rather eat a leather shoe before ever having to use CenturyLink again. I'd have better luck plugging my CAT5 cable into an oak tree, and would still have better net speed and customer service from the local squirrels than they gave.
Recommendation: Never use their company. It's a scam, it's fraudulent, and they're petty.
