Progressive appraiser Nick Summers demonstrated extremely unprofessional behavior during a recent claim inspection that quickly escalated into several unwanted visits at our business. He arrived unannounced, demanded our mechanics stop working immediately to accommodate his inspection, and entered the owner’s office without permission. He was rude and disrespectful to our boss, failed to explain his presence, and remained on our property for an extended period meddling in unrelated matters beyond the scope of his appraisal duties. During his visit, Mr. Summers openly complained about our boss in front of customers, which was not only inappropriate but also damaging to our business’s reputation and customer relationships.
Despite multiple attempts to contact Progressive to report this conduct, no one has responded to my messages or connected me with a supervisor. This lack of accountability is unacceptable and has left our team feeling disrespected and unsupported.
Given the disruption and tension caused, it would be extremely uncomfortable if Mr. Summers were to return to our property. We request that Progressive address this issue promptly and ensure future representatives uphold professional standards.
I spoke directly with Supervisor Cody Graham, who informed me that he has worked with Nick Summers for years and would not be changing who is assigned to our location. When I expressed concern about Mr. Summers’ conduct and stated he was no longer welcome on our property, Mr. Graham responded dismissively, saying, “So what, you don’t want to handle things with our company?” He further stated that “we don’t change territories” and that he would personally accompany Mr. Summers on future visits, despite our clear discomfort and request for reassignment. He also implied that any Progressive employee would behave similarly, which raises serious concerns about the company’s culture and approach to professional conduct.
