I gotta say, I'm not too impressed with PlatinumTaxDefenders. I mean, I did some digging around before I signed up with them, but I guess I didn't do enough. Let me tell you, this company is a real letdown. They promise all kinds of things, but when it comes down to it, they don't deliver. And their staff? Don't even get me started. They're so unprofessional and rude, it's like they don't even care about their clients.

If you try to get any kind of proof that they're actually doing something for you, they just cut off all communication. It's like they're hiding something. And once you've paid them, forget about it. They act like they don't even know you anymore. They won't return your calls or emails, and it's like pulling teeth just to get a response.

Honestly, I think you'd be better off just taking your money and setting it on fire. At least then you'd know where it went. Don't waste your time or your hard-earned cash on PlatinumTaxDefenders. They're just not worth it.

When I first called Platinum Tax Defenders, I was promised that they could help me with my tax issues. They told me that if I let them defend me, being disabled, they would be able to get my taxes totally removed. I was excited about this prospect and decided to send them all the money up front.

Platinum Tax Defenders did end up getting me a small payment, which I will be making for the next 7 years. While I am grateful for the small payments, I wish they would have been honest with me up front. They did not tell me that I would still have to make payments for the next 7 years, and that I would not be getting any tax returns during that time.

If they had been honest with me up front, I could have checked around with other companies to see if there were better options available. Instead, I feel like I was misled and taken advantage of.

To make matters worse, when I asked Platinum Tax Defenders how to find out about my code for 19 tax relief check, they were very rude to me. I did not appreciate their attitude and it made me feel even more frustrated with the whole situation.

Overall, while I am grateful for the help that Platinum Tax Defenders provided, I wish they had been more upfront and honest with me from the beginning. I would caution others to be careful when working with this company and to make sure they fully understand all of the terms and conditions before agreeing to anything.

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with PlatinumTaxDefenders. I mean, if I could give them negative stars, I totally would! It took them FOREVER to do anything for me, and even then, they didn't really communicate with me very well. The lady who was supposed to be helping me out never seemed to know what was going on, and she always had to "discuss it" with someone else before she could give me any answers. And even when she did call me back, she still didn't really seem to know what was going on with my case.

But the worst part was when they finally did my taxes. They did them all WRONG! And they didn't even tell me how much I owed until after they had already filed everything. So now I'm stuck with a huge bill that I wasn't expecting. And to top it all off, they charged me $2200 for absolutely NOTHING!

When we first signed up with them, we talked to this guy who seemed like he knew what he was doing. He made us feel like we were in good hands and that we'd finally get the help we needed. But then he disappeared and we didn't hear from him again until a year later when he wanted MORE money to help us with our state payment plan. He called, texted, and emailed us like crazy, but it was too little, too late.

Honestly, I don't usually write reviews like this, but I just had to warn other people who might be thinking about using PlatinumTaxDefenders. Trust me, this is NOT the help you're looking for.

This company, PlatinumTaxDefenders, is an absolute nightmare. I have tried to work with them for over a year to solve claims that they said they could handle, but they have cost me thousands of dollars more than what I paid them to do. They make false accusations, legally lie, steal, and cheat you out of your hard-earned money. They say they will contact you, but they never do. I have left several voicemails over the past several weeks to speak with Mr. Robert Stevens, but he has only spoken with me once and promised a refund due to miscommunication on their end. However, I have yet to receive it.

I can name numerous people who have had similar experiences with this company. They take your money and run, leaving you with no resolution to your tax problems. It's a warning to all, do not use this company. They are not in any way, shape, or form looking out for your best interest.

My wife has also posted reviews for this company, and Mr. Stevens responded with a copy and paste response that he supposedly sent to the Better Business Bureau. However, I highly doubt that it was true and I am willing to bet that he will copy and paste the same response on this review.

It's a shame that this company takes pride in what they do, even though they are causing harm to their clients. They should be ashamed of themselves for their unethical practices. Stay away from PlatinumTaxDefenders, they are an absolute joke.

Don't fall for the trap of PlatinumTaxDefenders! I made the mistake of trusting them to help me pay off my federal tax debt, and it turned out to be a complete disaster. They are a sister agency of Optima Tax Defenders, who I initially contacted for help. However, since I owed less than $5000, they couldn't assist me and referred me to Platinum Defenders. I explained my situation to them, stating that I had enrolled in a PhD program in January 2017 and had no income as I wasn't working. I also mentioned that I worked part of 2017 and expected a tax refund for the first time in years. The intake person assured me that they could settle my case in 90 days and get the IRS to settle for $50-100 dollars. I was thrilled and paid their $750 fee, thinking it would save me money in the long run.

From August to April 2018, I spoke to no less than seven people at PlatinumTaxDefenders, and they kept giving me false hope. They scheduled conference calls with me that never occurred and took me away from my classes. They kept telling me that the IRS had accepted lowering my tax debt, but they were waiting for the official letter from the IRS. This went on for seven months, and in the end, the IRS took all of my refund, and I was still left with a balance. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and that's when things got even worse.

I received an email from a third party, US Corporate- Mr. Carl Tartt, who offered to refund me half the fee if I retracted my BBB complaint. However, he withdrew his offer the next day, stating that the BBB wouldn't retract complaints. This is now in arbitration, and I'm still left with a balance to the IRS and out $750 with nothing to show for it.

PlatinumTaxDefenders misrepresented themselves, and my questions were very goal-directed. For example, I asked if the IRS would settle and if they would take my refund. If they had answered honestly, I wouldn't have paid them. They required a POA to talk to the IRS, and I was told that I signed a form that nothing was guaranteed. This is how they get out of being sued. It's a complete scam!

I want to share my experience with PlatinumTaxDefenders, a company that claims to help people with their IRS debt. I owe a lot of money to the IRS, and I was looking for professional help. That's when Platinum called me out of the blue. I had never heard of them before, but they had a salesperson who was very convincing. They made me feel like they could solve all my problems and take away all my worries. They said they could handle everything for me for a fee of $4500. I was desperate, so I agreed.

But it turned out to be a big mistake. After I signed their lengthy contract via my cell phone, I never heard from them again. They didn't answer my calls or emails. And when I finally did get in touch with them, they gave me vague answers and didn't seem to care about my situation. They just wanted me to keep paying them.

To make matters worse, I started receiving letters from the IRS about liens on me and my husband. I couldn't even get a passport anymore. And when I finally got a letter from the IRS about how much they wanted me to pay per month, it was much more than the $24.00 that Platinum had promised me. I felt like I had been scammed.

I want to warn others not to make the same mistake I did. PlatinumTaxDefenders is not a trustworthy company. They don't care about their clients, and they don't deliver on their promises. If you're in debt to the IRS, it's better to work with the IRS directly or find another advocate who will actually help you. Don't fall for Platinum's sales pitch. They will just take your money and leave you worse off than before.

I know that Platinum usually puts out a defense statement after a bad review, but I want to make it clear that my statement is true. I'm not the bad guy here. I just wanted help, and Platinum let me down. I hope that others will heed my warning and do their due diligence before working with this company. God bless.

I found out that my husband had filed 5 years' taxes without telling me, and he filed singly. I learned of this when I attempted to refinance a new home I had purchased in 2014.
He was self employed all of his life, and did well. I had worked full time from the age of eighteen. In 2007 I was in a car crash that broke my neck. Then I was diagnosed with cancer and had surgery. Many more terrible things had happened to my little family of four.
I sold my house after putting thousands of dollars into it. My husband divorced me for the equity in our home in Silicon Valley, San Jose, Ca. I want to set up the desperation and incredible stress I was under beginning with the crash.
When I learned of my tax situation, through my lender, I contacted tax attorneys in my new location, Elk Grove, Ca. Three of them( not including phone calls to several more tax preparers and specialists) advised me after I had H&R Block prepare all 5 returns, that me amount owed was under $10,000 and the IRS would more than likely forgive much of this debt. My circumstances were so rare I turned to Platinum tax defenders for assistance.
The conversation was brief, and I was confident that my issues could be resolved. I paid them $1,400.00. At first, all was well. I sent them copies of my returns. I was informed by the representative that all the documentation was received on their end. I called intermittently to review progress. Anytime I was calling with a question, however, the answers were weak, but at first I believed them. "We are waiting for an IRS reply". "The IRS TOLD US THAT YOU HAVE NOT FILED YOUR RETURNS". What? They had copies of everything right there. Then they said I needed to file 2011 and 2012, for which I had received refunds already. Again, they said I still needed to file. I think that, when calling, they were never prepared and had to make up anything. Also, in looking me returns over, my tax preparer had neglected many items. For example, hardship withdrawals from my 401k to support my grown sons, one of which was autistic. This is still an issue that I have no idea what to do about it. I left messages for representatives that were not returned, questions not answered. Even if I got an answer, it didn't make sense with my issues. I am, at this moment, shaking. The IRS has sent me a form CP2000, meaning my taxes were filed with income left off of the form completely.
Nothing, absolutely no help or support was given to me by these uncaring, inconsiderate, people who work at Platinum Tax Defenders.
They strung me along for months, until I got a letter from them, saying my yearly contract with them was closed. A year! I was offered a continuance, to solve my issues. I must pay
$500 more to continue.
I had a nervous breakdown. I have more cancer, both malignant on the top of my head, and now the thyroid. I'm sick. Im tired. Im on hold waiting for the IRS to answer. The stress is more than I can stand, because these ripoff artists that don't care. I can't afford to pay anything else. My retirement funds are nothing like they were. I consider my life to be over.
There is no one to trust. No one to ask. No one to talk with.
They should have done the job that they were paid to do, without all the run around weird questions, not relevant to me or my taxes!
Please, if your situation is complex, do NOT employ this company. They will blow you off, not communicate as they should, and, if they do, there is no resolution. No progress.
I was raised to be polite, especially when writing. I was a vp at a major international bank for 27 years, and I'm not stupid. I could do anything, solve any problem. So, you can imagine what I WISH I COULD WRITE ABOUT THIS COMPANY. Ranting won't help.
Please, a warning to anyone thinking about hiring this company. Don't do it. Don't.

I have been requesting my tax return for 2019 for many years. Tax defenders keeps telling me that they are in contact with the IRS and my return is not ready. I paid for that tax return many years ago, and I want it. Furthermore they sent me returns for 2017 and 18 with no State returns or vouchers for payment. I received only the two Federal returns. Also one of them has a large stock sale with no cost basis, that I do not recognize for that year. A document they sent me said the sale was facilitated by Chase.However when I contacted Chase, I was told they had no record of this sale.They have not followed up on that, as I requested. Furthermore for the past week I have been trying to call Platinum tax advisors and all of their four phone numbers which I have are "temporarily unavailable." I'm wondering if this firm has closed. Emails I sent to them have gone unanswered as well.

I recently hired PlatinumTaxDefenders to help me with my taxes. I was hoping that they would be able to help me save some money and get my finances in order. Unfortunately, my experience with them was not very positive.

First of all, I had to pay them a fee of $1000 just to get started. I thought this was a bit steep, but I figured it was worth it if they could help me save some money in the long run. However, after they finished working on my taxes, I was disappointed to find out that my tax bill was still the same as before - $5,165.44.

The only thing that PlatinumTaxDefenders did for me was set up a monthly payment plan with the IRS. They charged me an additional $100 per month for this service, which I could have done myself for free. I was frustrated that I had spent so much money on their services and didn't see any real results.

Overall, I would not recommend PlatinumTaxDefenders to anyone looking for help with their taxes. While they may be able to help some people, I did not find their services to be worth the high cost. If you're looking for help with your taxes, I would suggest doing your research and finding a company that has a better track record of success.

I had a really tough time with PlatinumTaxDefenders. At first, they didn't seem to understand that my tax issue was with Delaware, not Denver. They kept passing my case around to different agents, and then the two agents who were working on it just up and left. I was left with a resolution letter that said I owed $16,000 more than I actually did. It was a total mess.

To make matters worse, they never even bothered to look at my tax returns to try to figure out what was going on. I had to take some time off work to deal with the issue myself. Eventually, I was able to get it resolved, but it was a huge headache.

The only thing that PlatinumTaxDefenders offered me was a 100% guarantee, but that didn't really mean much to me after all the trouble they caused. And to top it all off, they claimed that their phone system was backed up and that they couldn't provide me with any letters or documentation to prove that they had been working on my case. It was a total mess, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
