Pivotal Fitness has the worst customer service and business practices. After your contract is up, I was told I would have the OPTION to do a month-to-month membership. I specifically asked if this was automatic or if I had to sign up for it. They told me I had to sign up for it. Well it was automatic. Fine, mistake.

The only way to cancel your membership is to mail a certified letter to them or fax them a signed letter saying I want to cancel the membership. And according to their policy, it takes 30 days to cancel. How convenient that it takes an entire month so they can get another payment. Whatever it's policy.

Well they claimed they never received my letter. I said I will send them another one and they said it will take 30 days. This is absurd! I've already sent them a cancelation letter, why will it take another 30 days? They kept saying "it's policy" so I asked to speak to a superior about it and they refused to transfer me. They said I could email them a letter (did not tell me that the first time).

So I emailed them a letter and demanded a call immediately upon receipt and 10 minutes later they called but it was from a Florida area code saying it will take 30 days. That was the other weird thing, you can not cancel via the gym you signed up with. And you can not find any phone number or email contact information to speak with someone about your policy on their website. Go to another gym.

I completely agree! is there a group I can join so other people suffer this horrible financial fate! I too have been scammed out of hundreds of dollars I am 23yrs old and I had signed up when I was 20. I haven't been in there in 2.5yrs and they still wont leave me alone or let me quit! still charging my account and I had to shut down my entire bank account and now i am without money! I called Pivotal and they can't even find my membership and I already had it go to collections. I moved to an area that the closest one was 30 miles away and submitted via snail mail my rental agreement with my name and address on it because they needed "proof" & said they never received it! HELP ME! I'm at my wits end! I have 1 full time job and 1 part time job paying tons of student loans and I can't take it anymore! any Information Please email me! starvingtomato@hotmail.com

Any suggestions with legal help? I tried to cancel my membership two years ago due to moving 1000 miles away sent them a bank statement. They said it was Policy and I needed a cable or electric bill to cancel! I lived with my parents and had no bills in my name. Now two years later am just now hearing from them threw a collections agency. They never once tried to contact me before this. On top of it this First credit agency wont send me anything showing I owe this amount. They want me to pay $1800 over the phone? They then said they can not send me anything showing this amount and to contact the gym. So I did and they told me I owe 1800 but have no record of the charges and they to can not send me a statement? Really? How is it ok for them to expect me to pay this "balance " over the phone with nothing showing me what they want me to pay? Please help! This first credit is saying they will report this to on my credit if I don't pay with in two days? If they are a collection company how can they say Its not been reported on my credit?

Pivotal Fitness is a joke and full of scammers! I was promised a 30 trial for my fiance and I to try the gym and see if we want to commit to the 2 year contract. We signed up for the 30 day trial. After 30 days, I went to cancel the trial period since my fiance never stepped foot in the place and I went once. I was then told that I could not cancel the contract because I didn't workout at least 3 times a week. I explained that it we have been traveling and have family in from out of town staying with us so we could not go to the gym. I then explained that my wedding is in another week and do not have time to continue with the gym. I called and spoke to the General Manager who then told me to get a lawyer and that we can do nothing to get out of the contract. Needless to say, I now have a few days before my wedding and honeymoon and a lawsuit to come home to! STAY AWAY for this GYM!

Pivotal fitness in Summevrille, SC is a great place if you just want to work out on the machines or take a variety of classes. If you want warm friendly helpful employees WRONG GYM. They are not very helpful. Even the manager who seems overly happy, it's not genuine. The daycare sucks. I had my 1 year old in there once. When I came back after my workout, she was the only kid in there sitting in the corner by herself in tears while the lazy daycare lady had her back turned on her phone texting. Really do your job. That was the last time. If you want trainers that keep their appointments with you Wrong Gym. Please do research before you choose a gym that's right for you. I don't think this one is it.
