OK to begin with now. My daughter started at Pima medical Institute down in Dillon. She has such a compassion for animals and loves animals so much all she ever wanted to do was help them out anyway, she went down to Pima medical Institute. She end up going with a broken leg and on crutches so right off the bat, the teacher started treating her like crap calling her Gambian all that anyway which she went to school with down for nine months we live in Butte, Montana, which that’s an hour drive every Monday and Tuesday get it. I’m on disability we couldn’t really afford it but we figured it out Anyway after putting up with her teacher being treated like crap for nine months almost 9 months she went down to here in Butte to Saint Francis veterinary externship. Anyway, she done really good there. They really liked her anyway she got all A’s and B’s and pay me anyway in classes and we worked really really hard to get her through that but anyway, during her externship, she done really good all of a sudden when she mentioned that she was going somewhere else to do her vet tech And wouldn’t be working for them. The Veterinary‘s wife start treating her like crap anyway like I said she has such a compassion for animals and we had plans for her afterwards life plans, and anyway all of a sudden veterinary teeth hour veterinary‘s wife sent her home and says I will text you to come back while she never did she end up calling the teacher down a payment and Dillon and telling a bunch of lies about her get it she had 12.4 hours left of externship before she graduated, next thing, you know The teacher called her and said she was kicked out because the vet Turner his wife said that she was being unprofessional interrupting, and my daughters bashful I know better than that so she created a bunch of lies about her to get her kicked out of school and it worked with 12.4 hours left at externship so actually she was devastated. I was even devastated like but she didn’t think she could do anything about it because she said that she signed a paper saying that all answers were final that she couldn’t complain about it at all so I don’t know what’s up with that, but my daughter got screwed over so bad and it devastated her so much and it made her not even really want to do her profession which is a veterinarian but now I finally got her into Penn foster for two years for vet technician so anyway we got screwed over and I’m wondering if there’s anything we can do about it we spent a lot of money and time nine months getting her back-and-forth to Dillon and she had such a compassion for animals and she still does but yet her teacher treated her like crap and then all of a sudden they’re vet Generia his wife got her kicked out of school OK is there anything we can do about it? I would like to know thank you very much.

I withdrew my offer from attending Pima. Recalling that one of the receptionists taken a look at me and thought that I wasn't "good enough" because I have tattoos. It's also a real pain to drive to and from Angleton. I also agree that they are unprofessional.

Before I found this post, I posted something similar at Yelp to try to warn others against this program. I am astounded that these two people are allowed to get away with demoralizing and degrading adults that pay over $30.000 to obtain an education. I have been trying to locate the corporate office phone number to complain to someone higher up because apparently, these two pretty much run the Vegas school. If anyone has an Arizona phone number for the Luebkes, I'd appreciate you passing it on. I will not stop until these two have been dealt with.

I understand that Pima used to be a wonderful school for respiratory therapists. Since the arrival, however, of a certain instructor, the program has gone downhill to the point that students are not learning, are feeling pressured into quitting and leaving in droves.

If you are hoping to become a respiratory therapist, please choose another school. My oldest child is a student here and is finding the atmosphere there completely hostile and incompatible with learning. Because he/she would be kicked out for speaking out about the abuse at the school, I shall call him/her M.C. for my child.

M.C. is an adult, as are most of the people in the Respiratory Therapy program at Pima. They have students from diverse backgrounds, with well-established careers that they hope to leave to become a RT. These are not children, yet they are being treated as such.

M.C. loved the school in the beginning. He/she had caring instructors that took the time to ensure everyone got every question answered and that all of them learned.

Unfortunately, the instructor only teaches the beginning students. This semester's instructors are intolerable. Aimee Barnes ("Miss Aimee"), who is also the Clinical Director of Education, and her fiancee, Anthony Everidge (who also happens to be the director) remind me of two freaks from a horror movie. They must go home at night and plot about how much torture they can heap on whichever student they've decided to harass the following day, and believe me, it's pretty much a different student every day. How would you feel being on THAT wheel? Never knowing when it's your turn?

Yes, I suppose that sounds dramatic but it's true. They behave like abusive parents. Those freaky parents that do creepy stuff to their kids -- the over-the-top abusers. People that take pleasure in causing others emotional pain.

Apparently, these two don't believe in the basic dignity of other human beings and find it perfectly ok to ridicule, yell at and humiliate the students. They question the student's motivation to become a RT just for leaving the room to get a drink or use the restroom. This isn't any old yelling either, it's the two of them standing in front of one student, shoulder-to-shoulder, yelling loudly, pointing fingers and basically bullying the student to the point where she broke down in tears.

Another student who left the room to get a drink was followed by Miss Aimee and screamed at. Every attempt he made to defend himself was met with yet more yelling, finger pointing and threats of being rejected from the program. All for daring to leave the room for a drink.

It's not only the students that are bullied -- apparently Miss Aimee finds it perfectly acceptable to text other instructors, demanding to know where they are.

They refuse to answer student's questions about the lessons, so these students are literally paying over $30, 000 and NOT LEARNING. M.C. daily complains about all the questions he/she has on the day's lessons and can't get answers from the instructors. This borderline passive-aggressive refusal to help these students understand what they are being taught is abominable.

Recently, in an informal get together with other students, M.C. learned that to a student, ALL of them, feel the same way. They threw around terms such as "hostage, " "cruel, " "bullying, " and "fear."

If it isn't the lack of answers to valid questions about their RT lessons, it is the utter rage these two display that make learning in the RT program at Pima impossible.

Yet, sadly, because one student that dared to go over their heads to complain was rejected from the program, all of these students are afraid to speak out to anyone. These two instructors have thus made it very clear that their bullying and hostility is something these students have to put up with -- whistleblowers will be rejected.

What are their options? Continue on in a program where learning is impossible and you are treated like a child? One of the students, an Air Force veteran, quit because of these two. Many others are scrambling to find out what other schools, if any, will take their Pima units.

When I was in college my professors couldn't care less if we showed up or not. It mattered nothing to them if we had to use the restroom in the middle of class--it was understood that we were adults and would figure out a way to find out what we missed.

The behaviour of these two instructors is beyond acceptable. If you truly want to learn, if you truly want to be a Respiratory Therapist, choose another school. Choose any school that values your tuition money, that treats you with dignity and respect and is happy to assist in your learning. That is, after all, what instructors are hired to do.

I agree with the last 2 bad reviews. They will lie and tell you anything to get you into their school and take your money. Made complaints to the DOE. They said in the beginning that their credits are accredited and can be transferred to any college including CSN. 3 months into it, after many teachers and staff gossiping, I questioned CSN directly of the transfer of credits and they told me basically "That school is a real joke, we had have many students here fall victim." I confronted the director about the accreditation and I was told "TECHNICALLY its college accredited at ONE college located in NEBRASKA" seriously?! So they just generally claimed they were accredited by national colleges because this ONE college in Nebraska would take it. I've asked them to credit back my student loans and returned most of my items that they provided because I felt cheated and wronged. I've yet to hear from anyone from the DOE to help but I'm pretty sure there are many more out there who have had fallen victim to this atrocious school. I am 60% finished with the second semester RT program at Las Vegas PIMA and was an honor student the 1st semester. I have to agree with your statements, especially in regards to the unprofessional factor that exists with the director. The director just digs and digs at your dignity and then really rubs it in by saying he doesn't want to treat you like a kid. Basically, he is just trying to cover the deficiencies of his own program and/or staff at the expense of the captive students. This method only works once or twice before students start to catch on. Sad to say, I believe the director has soiled his own credibility due to his own ignorance and/or indifference of basic human respect. I do not know whether or not the soiled reputation extends to the staff. I can speak of leadership as I am a retired military member with successful unit command experience. Degrading people with what they know to be untrue has an especially demoralizing effect and I am at a decision crossroads on whether or not I can justify the loss of dignity and suffering with the end goal. As for the labs, definitely disorganized. You are just thrust into the lab and pretty much expected to figure out what is expected for check offs. Here's a novel idea, structure the labs just like the check offs? Do you think that might boost confidence AND performance? PIMA has all the ingredients to be a wonderful school if they could just select and support a respectful staff.

I just finish my classes at Pima in the MA program, it has been 2 weeks now and I still have not gotten an externship site yet.. I fear I have waisted my time... I have a 3.85 GPA, I only missed one day of class, cause I had the flu.. Everyone one on my class has been placed including the girls that had attitudes unprofessional behavior to others in the school and had missed multiple days of classes... I am starting to feel the since I busted my butt I waisted my time any advise.

idk if it is just current and graduates of pima on here but i would like to shair my story i enrolled at the colorado springs campus for medical assisting, (sorry if things are spelled wrong im tired), ok so i started pima in 2010 i loved it the teachers were amazing and i learned alot. I never missed a day of class i got sent home early by one of my teachers because i had a tooth pulled and was not feeling good, my last 6 weeks there my daughter got sick and i missed four days, i was told that even though i missed the days they would still place me on a good externship site, i was excited cuz i was told i would get either family practice or peds, well about 2 weeks before i left i went to ask them why i had not had an interview yet, they told me well we found you an extern site its a talecris plasma resources and its an awesome place everyone that gets sent there gets hired on, i thought ok im a single parent this is a site that will lead into a job. my first day at extern the employees were telling me and the other students sent there that they did not know why pima kept sending student because there was nothing medical about working there (except sticking the cust and you could only do that after getting hired on). I stuck with it anyway cuz as i was told i would deff have a job, i had to call off one day cuz my daughter was sick and i had to take her to the doc got a doc note and everything, on april 19th 2011 was my graduation i had to work that day but they let me leave early as i was walking out the door the hiring manager pulled me aside and said "we cant hire you cuz according to pima and what we have seen here you have an attendance problem" (i had never been late for school or work i had missed a few days of school and one day of work but i had notes for each day missed) went to graduation everything was good talked to some other students i went to school with and they said that they had not gotten hired on at their extern site either, i figured well with career placement ill have a job in no time, it is now march 2012 iv been out of school for almost a year, still no job in what i trained for (medical assisting) and have never gotten an invterview, iv had people tell me that since were i went on my externship was not medical i have no experience at all and that was one reason they could not hire me. I planned on going back to school to get my RN and while filling out gov grant paper work i could not find a federal school code so i had to enter it in manually, iv tried google and everything and still can not find the code, after all of this pima still wants me to pay the 5, 000 in student loans and i will but im not to happy with the program or the way i was lied to at all.

I also had this women, and felt as though she was fake. They say when you come to the information session to bring your transcripts, but she didnt even look at them until I said something about it. Also, she took a phone call in the middle of my session with her. I felt like the whole 2 hours I was at this campus that they make you feel like they are better than everyone else and if you dont attend this school you do not matter. And as for her being rude about your disablity I can not even understand how she can be so comfortable with saying anything like that.

I have a disability( physical and mental), live on ssdi and have no college experience and i got treated with respect and was encouraged to do what i wanted to do even though I wouldn't easily get into that program...I wanted to get into Radiography and had bad math grades in high school... and you need good grades to even apply to the program. I did research and decied to start with medical assitant, for now. I had Brian... Maybe you should go back, or try carrington college on country and southern not even a mile away behind chase and mcdonalds...

Have went back and forth with the BBB and PMI which constantly lies to the BBB about my complaint. The BBB has been no help to me if you have gone another way and made your case please fill me in I would love the help. I feel if we get enough students together class action would be in mind just saying I know others.

I am a very recent graduate from pmi in Houston. Everything that has been mentioned happened to me. From the bullying of which no one including the staff, was willing to stop, to saying anything to get your money. I took the vet assistant program of which finding out later, anyone off of the street can honestly do. Please don't waste your time or money on this socalled college.

This school.is a joke, as they called themselves professors. They looked down on students. tell students to stop wasting theirs time when they have questions. wash cloths and clean the tables after the semester, when you paid 50k and have to cleaned tables at school?.

Be careful about attending PIMA medical institute in Houston.There are allowing ghetto thugs into the program who are bullying other students. The teachers blame the victims for not standing up to the bullies and they support the bullies. PIMA has NO anti-bullying program and disrespect, rudeness and unprofessional conduct and bullying goes unpunished. Stay away from this school the teachers don't support the good students if they are victims of bullying.

I am doin all the leg work and have already spoken to a lawyer who says that if i get as many people to join the civil case he will go further in taking action and calls it the 'bait and swich'. I was a victim of a technical school in Houston where I chose to enroll in a 17K program to become a medical assistant, back in early 2010. I have been a state certified medic since early 2003, and my experience in healthcare dates back to 1995. I was an honors student, I was raised to be a model student and observe proper conduct in the classroom. After I started this program, to my horror, it was full of ex-convicts, drug addicts, inner city drop outs with GEDS, and other people NOT QUALIFIED TO EVER WORK IN HEALTHCARE. Having been in advanced placement classes my ENTIRE life, in addition to attending the University of Houston, I was horrified at the lack of respect, discipline, and classroom management. By the time we were two weeks into the program, I already had a target painted on my back for harassment and bullying from students I had no quarrel with. They didn't like me because I was smart, and made the highest grades, asked questions in class, and made repeated complaints that there be some semblance of discipline in the classroom. I felt like I was living in the movie "Dangerous Minds." Eventually I was threatened (to be shot), and was the victim of an attempted attack while on break (the supervisor had ORDERS to guard me from these students), which was in direct retaliation to a police report I was urged to file. THAT is a crime in and of itself. I also have concrete evidence (printouts) of a group of students who used a facebook thread to plan a way of drawing me off campus so they could kick my (butt) without consequence. Ultimately, the adminstration found their own way, despite an overabundance of documentation of all actions against me, to expel me with an outrageous claim that I threatened a teacher and a student with a weapon, which was a total lie. In addition, the students that I proved (and have on camera), were exhibiting violent behaviior towards me, were not expelled. They were allowed to continue. I still had the highest grade in the class. The instructors, angry that I had told the administration that they were not teaching the course material, turned a blind eye.
The worst thing that happened was when i had a life threatening allergic reaction. I have had a latex allergy since 2003. It has NEVER been an issue at any healthcare job because I wear sleeves and carry my own gloves, and remain aware of my surroundings as to not come into contact with it. This was AFTER i filed a report that certain bullies were waving latex gloves in MY FACE in order to make me take a step back to "get out of the way". Someone put a latex glove in a drawer, and despite all of my precautions, I touched it. I was given the crappiest first aid EVER by three medical assistants, including the program director, and my privacy rights were violated because instead of taking the class back to the room, they were allowed to look on in delight, EVEN AFTER THE AMBULANCE GOT THERE AND HIPAA WAS ATTACHED. Thanks to that, I now carry an epi pen.
This was ATI Technical School, on the east side of Houston. I am so sorry for what your husband is going through, because it sounds like he, like me, had the best of intentions in becoming the best healthcare worker out there, and wanted t0 make a difference, and instead was shunned, and you were taken for a sum of money you shouldn't have to pay.

I am filing a lawsuit against my technical school. the Houston BAR association has a hotline where you can call and talk to a lawyer free of charge for advice regarding legal issues. If you have a case, make a case. And e-mail Randy Wallace with FOX 26 Investigates-- because after i file my suit, he's investigating the bullying angle, why the cops never filed charges, and that I was fraudulently admitted into this program. He checks his email and reads what people have to say. Don't sugarcoat a thing.

Hello i am currently attempting 2 enroll in it's at pima houston. I'm wondering if anyone can describe 2 me the enrollment process, specifically the interview and acceptance timeframe. Then she stated they would call me with a writing assignment? Do they actually deny ppl? Someone plz reply, school begins soon and I need 2 inform my employer. Now even though I was skeptical in the beginning with the career specialist questioned my transcript as if my gpa was so low they were grading on a "5 point" GPA. (I never heard of it but hey...) Then it was to final aid 2 see if i could afford it. That's what she said.(Im gonna leave that alone). However I proceeded with the necessary requirements but when I called back today she still didnt seem as enthusiastic about a new student n new career as I am. Regardless of reviews OTA is something i want and what i do kno is when one door closes another opens... ( N if i do not i may need to inform higher up)

I 100% agree that after Pima has your money they don't care about you. Externship sitespecially are horrible. They treat extern as a class but you do no school work. Us students pay for extern as a "class" learn nothing on it, provide free labor, and get treated like garbage. When we leave our sites and say we will not go back...the school threatens to kick you out. They take your honors, your money, your dignity, and give you no choice in the matter. Someone needs to start a class action based on the free labor for extern sites and report to the better business Bureau and go after them for bad business practices. Someone NEEDS to do this. Do not waste your money.

Im not even sure where to begin. I first learned of Pima through the internet, I attended to gain more knowledge to be able to pass the pharmacy technician PTCB test, become certified for IV and Compounding (already was employed by a pharmacy, worked as a pharmacy tech trainee +2 years). At first the school projected itself to be such a great school, with a high success rate of passing the state tests & graduating, especially in the pharmacy area, the counselor i had, Mr. Donovan, insisted that I would get a great education and get recognized for all the things i would soon accomplish. IT WAS SO DISAPPOINTING to find out how their system really works. They go by sequence, so every new sequence you get new students, which means each new sequence which occurred every 4-6 weeks, you start from the beginning again, so the new students could "learn the curriculum too". you never finish one sequence to progress and learn more things to build onto your knowledge. you just keep starting over. To make matters worse, the houston location, for some reason cannot keep a steady teacher. Within the 5-6 short months i attended (course is only 8 months long) I had 5 different teachers. Each teacher we had would either quit or get fired, and each new teacher we got, started from the very beginning again. I kept reporting to the "student service counselor or coordinator" Ms. Karen Darejean, and instead of being of help or of concern, she would give excuses and a nasty attitude. She was never helpful in any way, and never had good attitude towards the students. To make matters worse, the books we paid for which accounted for $750.00 of the tuition were INCORRECT. All 5 teachers we had, including pharmacists I personally knew, all stated that the books we paid for were incorrect. The quizzes, tests, and finals were all based off of this book, which Pima created and provided. The packet work and book work given were from this book also, they didn't have correct answers provided with the multiple choice questions and the book would give contradicting statements. The teachers would often refer us to google to help us grasp a concept, find an answer or to find clarification. LOL. To put the cherry on top, when my 5th teacher finally quit (the day before the final) the schools head administer Mr. Hiene came into the class that morning and said, "does anyone know why Mr. __ quit" he further went on to say that we still have to take the final and he would find someone to grade it, and if we failed he would consider letting everyone take it again. He then said verbatim that "when we figure all this out, I will throw this class pizza party." This class was full of paying adults, who wanted answers and the education we paid for not a pizza party. I finally gave up trying to be optimistic and got pretty tired of the poor grading system, unstable class/teacher environment and the pure mere fact that i hadn't learned ANYTHING since i had been there. I approached the administration and began telling Mr. Hiene about how disheartening and disappointing this school had become to me and that I felt that if it wasn't going to be fixed that I wanted my money back. Instead of taking what I had to say as a paying student into consideration or concern, he disrespectfully spoke loudly over me, my concerns, and my rights as a paying student/ customer. He told me that I was being disrespectful and that he wasn't going to approve my full refund.

I withdrew from Pima and I honestly couldn't be happier. That whole school is a HUGE misrepresentation of what their trying to sell. I left that school without any gained knowledge, and with wasted time.
If you're considering applying, RECONSIDER.

All I can say is I went to Pima Medical Institute Tucson for their RN program and now I am making $64k a year as an RN rather than

PIMA is garbage! Tomorrow is the last day of class for me. The first instructor I had (Mrs. Martinez at the Albuquerque location) called students out to the hall if they got a bad grade on a test or just plainly let them know how bad they did in front of the whole class! She was upset with me because I missed 2 days of school. I have wisdom teeth extracted and was taking heavy medication so she made it a point of asking the class if they can text me and tell me that if I don't show up for class that I would fail or my grades would be in jeopardy. I confronted her in the class and was kicked out. I was transferred to another instructor and she is amazing (Theresa Diaz)! There is no better instructor for dental assisting than Mrs. Diaz. Now it's time to go to externship and the person who was suppose to set it up had quit. This being done, it cause great conflict between the person assigning us our sites and me. I asked about where I was being sent to and at first she had no idea. Then I mentioned that I was interested in modern dentistry, which is a cosmetic dental office. Volandra the site coordinator said it would be fine for me to go ask if I could extern there if they accept me. They accepted me with open arms and when I came back to let her know she said that I could not be sent there because there is already another extern working at that site. I asked then why tell me it's ok for the two externs before me that were sent there to work together? She said she wasn't aware that, that had happened and their accrediting body does not allow it. So it allowed it with the other two externs but not with me? I'm sure people are smart enough to realize the mistakes that this school makes or try to put students in fields that they are opposed to. I over and over explained no pediatrics dentistry! And she places me at a pediatric office! Now I'm going to be acquiring a skill that is not going to be useful to me because I don't want to nor have I ever wanted to work at a pediatrics dental office! So I paid $14, 000 to be placed at a place that I have no interest in? And they say we have no choice over our sites? I or anyone has to pay a ridiculous amount of money to do something they don't want to do just to make their jobs easier? How does that make any sense? And the people on here supporting pima are nothing but people who work there! Or got lucky and were given the education they wanted! Not education that is forced on to them! By the way, I'm graduating with honors and am second in my class with the highest grades!

I graduated from the Vet Assistant program in Jan 2013 from the Chula Vista campus with a 3.8 GPA and academic honors. My experience was great! It was bumpy at first with our teacher leaving after a week and the seniors being rude to us newbees. But once our new teacher Ms. Brewer came along everything was great. She is a Vet Tech and has been one for I believe 20 years. She shares life experiences and gets the answers if shes unsure. I suggest you make friends, because it is wonderful having them to study with and also ask questions. Try to never miss sheIter days since you learn so much with hands on experience. was hired within a week of my externship. The credits do not transfer but they told us that I think 5 or 6 times so if you're shocked about this that surprises me. Hope this helps good luck

Hello everyone, I recently completed the accelerated radiography (xray program) this is for people who have allready learned and been credentialed with a limited license and worked in the feild for 2 years.
at that point I felt like I knew it all pretty good so I didnt do much research on the school since it is the ONLY program that accepts a limited credential as a pre requisit.
the cost 19, 000. and for 3 months they send you anywhere in the US they feel like.
I was a guinea pig for a new site in washington.. I drove from southern CA to washington only to have the instructor they tell me that their system was set up to reteach everyone what they had learned in books over 13 months and I was supposed to do it in 1.5 months.
after a grueling beat down in this army hospital I finally got word from the school to go home. I waited a few weeks and they put me in Reno nv.. ALL OF THE TRAVEL, FOOD AND A PLACE TO STAY COMES OUT OF YOUR OWN POCKET and you have to quet your job and move in order to travel in most cases.
The teachers very seldom got back to me the same day I asked a question and usually responded once I had all ready turned in the homework or taken the test.. there is probably 5% of people that can TEACH THEMSELVES FROM A BOOK but most of us are not that fortunate. I did faily well in the fast pace, "learn" a subject in a few days and take a test the next week. After completion of the program I feel as though my training was limited and the lack of hands on experience has left me sum what inadequate.. I passed my boards but I do NOT recommend this program to anyone. Please save your money and frustration. take it from me. go back to a JC and even do a wait list. All limited techs feel they all ready know everything and just need the license. this is not true and the realization that you know nothing at the end when it counts the most will be a bitter day when you question what you spent the last 13 months and 19 thousand dollars on. It is well worth it to start over at a JC even though your credits from limited scope wont count you will be much better off.

A few months at pmi changed my life alright, made it a lot worse. After a few months the school was a joke to me, nothin but cheating and good grades given for it. I would actually study n had 1 o the highest grades yet ppl cheating got just as good grades even tho they didn't know what theyt show up n ur almost guaranteed to pass n be a "professionaL". All it was for me was a big waste of time and headache for years to come since I quit this fraudulent school, and I didn't receive anything in the mail to pay off my loan until it went to default, how convenient. PMI is a joke and they were right about a few months changing my life, jus wish I had known it was for the worse. Thanks for nothin bunch o fraudulent rip offs

So glad I found this site. The most stressful and unprofessional group of educators ever experienced. I am also a university graduate and never in a million years thought I would encounter such an uncomfortable, unprofessional experience. I was also told I would have to start my clinical rotations 3 hours away each way in order to continue the program and was not offered another alternative until I made it clear that was unacceptable. When finished with the program I also discovered our instructors behaved like a bunch of high school kids gossiping and letting their pet students know our test scores, who passed and who failed the final exam etc. Yes, I did pass with flying colors on my own hard work reaching out for every other resource I could find outside of what this school had to offer, so I'm not just a failing disgruntled student. This school is way too expensive of a program to pay out of pocket and be treated the way this school treats certain students. I wish someone would have warned me. It would have saved a lot of unnecessary health stress issues associated with just trying to make it through since so much money had already been invested. Sounds like Phoenix is just as bad as Tucson. It is really sad this school is able to continue to get away with such unprofessional behaviors.
