Dear Customer Service Team,
I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration with the service I received from Isaac Katlego Mashigoene, a security guard at the Pick n Pay store in Daveyton Mall. On 13/07/2025, I visited the store and was stopped by Mr. Mashigoene as I entered because I had a chocolate bar in my back pocket. He questioned me about the chocolate, and I explained that someone had given it to me. He said he needed to check the footage to verify this, which I understood as part of his job.
However, the issue arose when I had to wait for three hours for him to attend to me, only to be told that he was on his lunch break and no one else could assist me. During this time, he retained the chocolate bar, which I found unacceptable. As a customer, I felt disrespected and belittled by the way I was treated.
I would appreciate it if you could look into this matter and provide feedback on what actions will be taken to address my concerns. Specifically, I would like to know:
- What procedures are in place to ensure that customers are not kept waiting for extended periods?
- How will Mr. Mashigoene be held accountable for his actions?
- What measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future?
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Zika Ndlovu

Actually, that is not part of his job. He would have to actually see you steal the chocolate bar before stopping you. Imagine him wasting three hours for a chocolate bar that is at most $2 when he could be focusing on someone who actually stole hundreds worth of stuff. He had no right to take the chocolate bar from you, which he probably ate for lunch.
