We went grocery shopping at Safeway on a recent morning around 11:00 am. We wanted to buy some Safeway signature meals (chicken leg dinner) that were advertised on their website for $4.99. However, we were informed that there was no such deal. We mentioned that we had purchased this meal at a few other Safeway stores before and wondered why this store was different. The staff became impatient and rudely informed us that they didn't have it. We would appreciate an official response and apology from Safeway regarding this incident.

I went to Safeway at Kensington (Store # 8824) on June 6th in the evening and bought Natrel 3.25% Lactose Free Milk. The price on the shelf said $5.49, but when I scanned it, I was charged $5.99. It was a clear Scan Code Error Policy situation. I talked to the manager on duty (I think her name was ***), and she said they couldn't honor the policy and give the first product under $10 for free, even though there were notes about the policy at the cash register and customer service. She just said Sobey got rid of the policy.

The SKUs at the Safeway at *** have a pattern of not matching the amount charged at the Point of Sale (POS) terminal. When this happens, the SKUs are always lower, never higher than the POS. This happens regularly and is a pattern. It seems like they are overcharging customers. I notice this when I get home and compare my paid invoice to the price I thought I should be charged on the SKU. I want Safeway to compensate me for this behavior. Maybe a Safeway credit or certificate would be fair, like $50.00 - $100.00. I've been dealing with this for a couple of years now and it's frustrating. This has been happening since they reopened. Today, for example, I bought some Genoa Salami that was mislabeled at $4.29 / 100gm but charged $4.79/100gm. The CSR was rude and argued with me, saying prices were going up and she wouldn't refund me. She called a manager, but no one came. I had to wait a long time for her to check the price and for a manager who never showed up. Finally, she refunded me. I'm a retired senior executive and I found this disrespectful and terrible customer service. That's why I'm writing this review and seeking compensation. I want to mention that this never happens at other stores where we shop. It also happens at the Safeway on West Broadway. Safeway needs to review its policies and take action on this issue.
