Complaint: Repeated harassment calls despite incorrect contact number (PEP / Pepkor Credit Department)
I am lodging a formal complaint against PEP / Pepkor Credit Department for ongoing and repeated telephone calls to my cellphone number regarding an individual whom I do not know and have never been associated with.
This issue has persisted for more than 18 months despite me repeatedly informing your agents that they have the wrong contact number and requesting that my number be removed from all systems. These requests have been ignored.
I continue to receive near-daily calls, including calls outside of normal business hours (evenings and weekends), which is highly intrusive and disruptive.
Most concerning is that after I explicitly warned that I would escalate the matter due to continued contact, the calls increased rather than stopped.
This conduct constitutes:
* Persistent harassment and nuisance contact
* Failure to correct inaccurate personal information
* Continued processing of my personal contact details after notification of error (POPIA concerns)
* Unreasonable intrusion into my privacy, including after-hours contact
I am not the debtor or person being sought, and I have no relationship or association with them whatsoever.
I now formally request:
1. Immediate removal of my cellphone number from all PEP / Pepkor systems
2. Confirmation that my number has been removed from all third-party collection and tracing systems
3. Immediate cessation of all calls and communications to my number
If this matter is not resolved, I will escalate it to the Information Regulator and pursue further formal remedies.
