Dear PEP Customer Care,

I am requesting urgent assistance regarding a Xiaomi Redmi A3x phone I purchased from PEP Brentwood Park, Benoni on 28 November 2025.

The phone was advertised on the store display as 128GB, but when I checked the device on 5 December 2025, I discovered that the actual storage is 64GB. This constitutes misrepresentation and false advertising. Under the Consumer Protection Act (No. 68 of 2008), Sections 17 and 20, goods must be as represented, advertised, or displayed, and consumers are entitled to rely on the information provided by the supplier.

When I returned to the store to resolve the issue, the store manager, Ashley, was extremely rude. She:

Refused to help me and dismissed me, saying she wanted to assist “paying customers.”

Accused me of lying about the situation.

Claimed I “just walked in and asked for that specific phone,” even though there was no proper display, so I had no way of knowing the exact storage without relying on the store’s information.

Refused to provide customer service contact details, even after I requested them.

I then contacted PEP Customer Service and received reference number CSA001EC28, but I have not received any feedback.

Given that I was misled by the store display and treated unfairly by the manager, I am formally requesting a refund or an exchange for the correct 128GB Xiaomi Redmi A3x, in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act.

Please assist urgently, as this matter has not been resolved at store level. I trust PEP will honor its legal obligations to customers and address this complaint promptly.
