OptumRx review: Forced to switch to mail delivery

I’ve had many issues with Mail-Order prescriptions and Optum Rx.
I’ve gone on & off an injectable medication many times over the past couple of years simply because Optum Specialty pharmacy would not let me pick it up in-person. It needs to be refrigerated, so the logistics of being home for every single delivery and dealing with a mountain of packaging and ice packs every months (for only 2 needles) is a nightmare.
Recently, I was told my other medication, (which is a simple month-supply of pills) can no longer be picked up at my pharmacy. The insurance company decided that I have “reached the maximum billings at a retail pharmacy” for these meds and in-person pickup is no longer covered.
This leaves me with 2 options: 1) Pay out of pocket to get my meds in-person at my usual pharmacy, or 2) set up mail delivery to continue to have the meds covered.
This is absolutely outrageous. I should be able to pick up my meds at a pharmacy. It’s literally what they’re there for.
If i had a choice, I would NEVER use OptumRx.
