I am filing this complaint due to a distressing disconnection experience with Optimum that occurred on 10.18.2025. What should have been a simple cancellation became emotionally exhausting. The initial representative placed me on hold excessively but ultimately respected my decision. However, the supervisor, Caroline, repeatedly ignored my clear request to end the call and aggressively pushed offers, despite my exhaustion. Her conduct felt coercive and disrespectful.
I urge Optimum to review the call recording and retrain staff on respectful disengagement. These tactics may violate the FTC Act, NJ Consumer Fraud Act, and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. I am exploring class action participation and will actively warn others about these practices. I expect formal acknowledgment and corrective action.
