Today, 8/18/26 I called Optimum questioning an overcharge on my bill. I explained I was told on 7/31/26 that my bill would be reduced by 27.99 commencing with my August bill. Then in August I get a notification that Optimum charged my account 235.90. I spoke with Alkepha who couldn't help me, I asked for a supervisor, after quite a long wait Justin came on the line. He also couldn't help me so I asked for Retention since that's who gave me the discount, Malak, on 7/31. He would not transfer me, he was mean, obnoxious, frustrating and totally unhelpful. He definitely SHOULD NOT be a customer rep. I have never in over 30 years being a Cablevision/Optimum customer been treated so rudely and unhelpful.
Claimed loss: Time and aggravation
Desired outcome: Receive a credit. I called Retention spoke with Christina who was able to help. And at the very least reprimand Justin.

Thirty years of loyalty and this is how they treat you. Unacceptable. Here is your path. Call Optimum's corporate office at 1-866-950-3278 and ask for the Office of the President or Executive Resolutions. Do not waste time with frontline reps. Tell them you have the date and name of the retention agent who promised the discount, and that Justin refused to transfer you. Demand the 27.99 credit be applied retroactively and a formal complaint filed against Justin. If they stall, file an FCC complaint online and a notice of dispute with Optimum's legal department. You have seniority, use it.
