We were on Great Stirrup Cay, the island owned by Norwegian. We were told that the last tender left at 4 pm. My daughter was on that tender at 3:45 waiting to depart. Apparently the tenders dont communicate with the ship because while the tender was enroute to the ship, the staff pulled in the flags and closed the door. Security called my daughter's stateroom and spoke directly to my 17 year old granddaughter telling her that her mother, my daughter, was not on the ship. Needless to say, my granddaughter panicked and came to us, her grandparents. We were also panicked trying to figure out what to do first. Within 5 minutes security called back telling us that our daughter was on a tender coming to the ship. There were at least 40 other passengers on that tender, which as it turned out was the last tender. Clearly NCL was unaware that they still had a tender coming and many of their passengers were on that last tender. No explanation no apology for the scare, nothing! Our entire family was emotionally traumatized, most especially our granddaughter and her 14 year old brother. I would think the ship and the tenders would communicate and when they make such an awful mistake as to panic an entire family, an apology would be forthcoming.
Also, beware of hidden charges and last minute excursion cancelations without any explanation at all!
