Customer service
My tires showed low on my dashboard. I stopped at NTB. James greeted me and asked how he could help me. I explained my problem and he got his gage to check all my tires. After checking the air pressure, one of the tires was low, he filled it up. James then got on the ground and found a nail in my tire. I went in the office and Mike set up a repair. Brenda came and told me, since I purchased the tires at NTB there would be no charge. From the time I arrived and spoke to James, then Mike and lastly Brenda, I was treated with the best customer service. I can't say enough.
Recommendation: I recommend NTB highly.
Tire sensors repair
I made an appointment at store #4532 on Tuesday. When I arrived on today March 13, 2024, Bill welcoming me but could not find my earlier reservation from the day before. He added, I can still take you in now and repair your vehicle problem. While my vehicle was being repaired, Bill would come by to explain what the problem was going on with my tire sensors. Bill was very helpful throughout the service. Thank you, Bill.

These people do not care about my safety or my family's safety.
A few weeks ago, I stopped in due to hearing my front driver's brakes grinding. It wasn't very loud, but I know that whenever you hear squeaks or grinding, to take the vehicle in asap, or the repair cost can go through the roof. When I spoke to the manager, Sid, he said that my brakes were fine and no need to address at that time. Well now I'm back, due to the grinding sound becoming way worse, and not I need a whole new braking system. I am pissed, as I take my cars only to this business and specifically this location. The same manager said he believes the caliper stuck on me and they wouldn't have known that by just checking the shoes and pads. When a customer tells you that the brakes are making sounds, why wouldn't they do a note in depth investigation? Well, I could have possibly injured my family and I or another person due to the state and condition on my brakes. All of this could've been avoided had they listened to me the first time. I wonder if this was so they could get my bill up for a larger repair, versus the nominal amount for just pads? I will never be back, I will defer all friends and family from coming here or utilizing NTB, and I will tell everyone about the service I received. I have been a great customer, and I deserved better. There's no accountability here. Then I asked for an oil change when I arrived until they told me the estimate for my brakes, well they did the oil change without my consent, because I was going to take my business elsewhere. Then they told me I couldn't leave with my brakes like they were, so I had to have them serviced by them. I am livid, and can't wait to leave this horrible business and never return. DO NOT GO TO MAVIS TIRES OR NTB! THEY DO NOT HAVE INTEGRITY!

I stored 3 gift cards in my center console. I surrendered my vehicle to the mechanic to change my oil. When I went into my console for the cards (to give to my nephews) the cards were gone. I am the only person who uses my car (this includes driving and riding since the xmas/new year holidays). I called and reported it to the shop manager, who at first gave a weird excuse for the mechanic (he claims he was beside the mechanic when he pulled in - obviously this is not the only opportunity one could steal). I obviously have no evidence outside of the cards are gone and NTB and myself were the only ones who had access to them. I can say that I have used this shop several times without incident, but this event guarantees that not only will I not be returning, but I will also make everyone I know aware of this situation.
Claimed loss: 3 $15 gift cards for chic - fil - A

Hello, I am writing on behalf of my daughter who is 18yo. she made an appt for a simple flat tire and went in on said date, 5/14/2024 and time, 12 noon. The service men said it would be 30 minutes.
She also asked them to kindly put the spare tire back in place where it belongs in the trunk along with the jack and other equipment. They said no problem.
It took 2 hours to fix a flat. Multiple other vehicles were in and out of the bay and at one time no one was in the bay (lunch break?)
Finally fixed she came home and i noticed the spare and other equipment were inthe trunk but not properly in place so i had to figure it out.
Also the center FORD symbol in the center of the wheel is missing that they replaced. All four were on the car when it went in.
This was a horrible experience for an 18yo female. Due to this experience she doesn't want to return to have any furture work done even though I have been going to same store for years. Sad as your store lost a good customer who would have come back for future repairs if the cusomer service was just better.
Claimed loss: missing FORD cap in center of wheel
NTB service
The lift broke and I was told my truck was stuck. I waited hours and then left and waited hours for a phone call. I had no vehicle so could not go to work next day and lost out on a lot of money. On top of it I was told my brakes were good. The next day while I’m stuck at home I get a call saying brakes and routers were bad and I would need to pay a large sum I was already told was not needed with almost no discount for my loss of work day and money.
Claimed loss: 1000 dollars and much time
Desired outcome: Services for free

Went in for an oil change and come out with transmission problems
On March 23 yesterday, I went in NTB College Rd Greensboro, NC for an oil change and asked them if they could check my brakes. I left my car with them because I didn’t have an appointment. I asked if they could call me when my car was ready. I never received a call. I called about 4 pm that evening and I was told it was ready and been sitting for quite some...

I’vew been going to NTB for years now. The one in Gastonia, NC wasn’t available, so I went to Charlotte (Davis Lake), NC. I went for a tire rotation and now my car iis trash! Upon taking a nut off the front drivers side, it stripped the threads and caused NTB for have to install another wheel hub. To say the least, they blamed it on my previous mechanic...

Read full review of National Tire & Battery [NTB]Over exaggerated estimate caused needless expensive tow
On January 23, 2023 I had driven my daughter to the West Virginia University for a doctor appt. Which from Berkeley Springs WV to Morgantown, WV is a 2 plus hours drive one way. The trip to WVU was uneventful. We got into the car to return home when I pulled out of the parking spot there was a horrible dragging sound. My daughter got out and looked to see if she could see anything that we were dragging, nothing was found. I went a few blocks not for sure what to do not knowing the area. The only place that we could find was your NTB at 411 Suncrest Town Center Dr., Morgantown, WV 26505. When my daughter approached the desk for assistance they said that they would take a look at it.
We were there a couple very anxious hours . I have attached a picture of the estimate which threw my world upside down being told not to drive the Nitro home. Being so far from home we were unsure of what to do. So what I ended up doing was to have my Dodge Nitro towed to a auto repair close to my home. In which I used my State Farm roadside assistance. I have attached the tow bill that I paid so they would tow it. A total of $795.00. I have sense visited my State Farm office they are stating that all that they would pay would be $150.00.
When all was said and done. What had happened to my Nitro was that the heat shield had rusted thru and a piece of it was rubbing on the transfer case. Which was making the horrible dragging sound. My Nitro is driving just as it should.
The purpose of this email is to let you know how far out there it was for the estimate the repair men were so adamant on what they told me that had to be done. That it caused a tow bill of $795.00.
I am requesting that your company assist with the tow bill of the overage past the $150.00 that State Farm stated that they would reimburse me in the amount of $645.00.

Wrong tire size sold.
I went to store #4518 to purchase tires for a 2006 Pontiac GTO. I asked for stock sizes in Nitto 555 brand and model. Your rep made the commit about going wider in the rear, my reply was no I have issues with rubbing with the old tires and only want stock sizes to there will be no issues. The representatives name was Chris. He in formed me they would have to be ordered and since I was purchasing only rubber no mount or balance I would have to pay cash. I did ask her requested, got cash and purchased the tires. Once they were picked up and installed on the car it was found that they were too tall. I was sold a 235/50 18. Upon figuring this out I call the store to see why I was sold a non stock tire size when that is exactly what I asked for. Chris proceeded to tell me I asked for that size tire and that the company policy is no refunds or exchanges on only tire purchases. I asked him to look up what the stock tire size is for a 2006 Pontiac GTO where I was then put on hold for 5 minutes. Once Chris returned to the phone he confirmed a tire size of 235/40 18 is what is shown in the computer for that vehicle. He reconfirmed that he can not do anything about it. I asked for his store number so there would be no mix ups with this complaint.
Claimed loss: None that I wish to disclose at this time.
Desired outcome: I would like the correct size tires be exchanged to the incorrect tire size sold.

Oil change, new tire installation, tpms replacement
On 1/18/2024 I took my wifes 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee to NTB on Garrisonville, Rd in VA. I was getting an alighnment, new tires, an oil change, and replacement of all 4 TPMS. Upon recieving my vechile after the work was done I noticed the donut was not put back in it's propper place and was just thrown in the rear of the vehichle. I then noticed that the 4 chrome tire pressure caps that I had and that required a allan key to lock and unlock were not given back to me. Most frustrating i checked my tire pressure and my tires which are supposed to be inflated to 33 PSI in the front and 36 PSI in the rear, were inflated to 53 PSI. If my wife had picked up the vehichle she could have had a blow out. Even after I brought the overly inflated tire pressure to the mechanics attention they were still not reduced to the propper PSI. I checked with my personal handheld and than my own compressor that I have at my house. This service was reprehensible and certainly not worthy of the over 1000 dollars that I spent.
Claimed loss: 4 Chrome lockable tire pressure caps.
Desired outcome: I want a discount. This facility endangered my family by carelessly inflating and possibly damaging my new tires to way above the appropriate PSI.

Inspection
Took vehicle to get four new tires and an inspection. Technician said that my left shock was leaking, and I needed to replace both rear shocks. NTB refused to show me the bad shock and put a rejection sticker on it. I decided to take it to a certified Toyota dealership to have them verify my shocks were bad. Come to find out, none of my shocks are bad and my truck passed inspection.
Claimed loss: $15 rejection sticker I had to pay for.
Desired outcome: refund for the rejection sticker. check qualifications of the technicians

Steering wheel bushing
I took my Hyundai to NTB on Joppa Rd in MD. They were suppose to fix my steering wheel bushing and ended up breaking a part. The mechanic admitted it. He couldn’t fix it either and then they said they’d send...

I pre booked and ordered a full set of tyres online and paid to booked our appointment for 8am on November 16th 2023. We got to the Tomball shop at 14414 FM 2920rd as per email confirmation. The shop was not open and opened late at 8:15am. We were then told we would have to have our tyres changed in the parking lot due to our heigh, which we did not mind, only to be told it would take 3-4 hours, due to them only having one jack. We agreed and went to the local cafe as we needed to work. We left our number for them to call us if there were any issues and to let us know when it was complete. My partner went to check to see how things were going at 11:30am, only to find nothing had even happened or been started. At this point he was told by the guy at the shop that the tyres had not been delivered to the right NTB and that they were half an hour away, but that they had found more jacks so once the tyres were there it would be a quick job, but they had not called us to let us know this problem had occurred. This then turned out to still not be correct. At 1:30pm 2 Horus later my partner went back to check on everything and STILL the tyres had not be delivered, turning up just 5 mins after he arrived to check how it was going. They then proceeded to start to change all the tyres, however just with one jack and one person! My partner went to speak to the person at the front desk, who gave NO apology and would not rectify this issue after we had spent alot of money in the cafe to be able to wait the current 5 hours we had already waited. I am extremely disappointed and angered at this service and the way we have been treated. Not only was I not able to work correctly that day, ending in loss of money we had to pay money to the cafe to be able to stay and continuously by food and drinks throughout the over 6 hour wait!
Claimed loss: $50 - cafe food$400 - loss of earnings.
Desired outcome: Money back or expenses we would have other wise not lost and had to spend due to their mistake. An apology and for this to not happen to anyone else. Discount or partial refund on our purchase from their shop.

I have visited NTB for years. First when they were on Capital Blvd in Raleigh and when that closed, I now go to the one on Millbrook. I scheduled an appointment for today and asked for oil change and state inspection.
My complaint is that when I paid the bill, I was in shock. My total bill was $129.03 and I had a $10.00 coupon. I said that couldn't be correct and he gave me the breakdown. I asked why they put synthetic oil in my car ? I have never used that grade of oil, I have a ford focus with 42000 miles on it. Shouldn't they ask, they never have asked before so I assume this is a new policy ? So if the customer doesn't stipulate, give them the expensive kind, in this case it was $76.95 ! This is ridiculous. My name and car are in the computer, why would they change from the regular product I have been using ?
Maybe they chose that kind of oil because it was a slow day, bad sales and only one other person in establishment besides me. Whatever the reason, that's a good way to lose customers. It's not like I have a fancy car or high mileage. Very disappointing !
Desired outcome: Charge me for regular oil, not synthetic oil that I did not order!
Damaged tail light
Back in September, I had some service done on my vehicle at the location in Round Rock, TX. When I picked up the vehicle after hours, I noticed my right tail light was damaged. Abysmal customer service. Had an appointment a few weeks ago at the Lutherville store to find and fix an issue with my steering. Read full review of National Tire & Battery [NTB]Tire rebate
I purchased 4 tires with the promise of a $50 rebate. I purchased the tires at NTB and had them put them on and dispose of the old tires. NTB then gave me a single document with the date, invoice, cost, etc that I had to submit to Goodyear to get the rebate. Goodyear has now denied my claim 3 times... not sure why as all the information is on the single invoice NTB provided. Rebates are nice but the dealership should handle the paperwork... not the customer. If Goodyear needs more information than what NTB provided on the invoice then it should be highlighted well in advance of submitting the rebate.
Desired outcome: I want my $50 rebate. I have 4 cars and will never have Goodyear tires again or purchase tires from a dealership that refuses to file the paperwork for their rebates again.
Tires
I purchased 4 tires 8/23, paid $900 Sumitomo tires (sold because of the warranty) and was told fixing was free and that I should not purchase the warranty because the tires are good quality and have 50K warranty. Took my tire that is less than a year old to them and was told they can't fix it it must be replaced and charged a ridiculous amount of $237 to replace a tire that should have been under warranty.
Desired outcome: Refund of $237
Rebate
On 6/13/2023 I bought 4 Michelin tires from your store on Watson Rd in St. Louis. I was promised a rebate in the form of a $60 gift card. 3 attempts and countless calls were frustrating and finally fruitless. I was denied my rebate on some technicality. I spent $1,000 on tires but your company decided to deny my crummy rebate. Goodbye NTB. Goodbye Michelin. The word Scam applies here.

Went for simple oil change, was concerned when it took 10 minutes just to enter in computer, 15 minutes just to drive it in and secure it before raising the lift.
