original saltines are not original
Your Nibisco Crackers Original saltine, have been my favorite cracker, until you decided to change the original saltine from salt to seasalt and they are NOT original anymore, so stop the false advertising, as the original saltine crackers did not have seasalt, I know for a fact as I have one of your original boxes with the ingredients listed on it, and seasalt was not one of those ingredients. Every since you changed the ingredients, your Original (false claim) are not crisp, they are tough as though they are stale. I have noted several complaints that state, they think they are buying old product that has expired, which is not the case, it is your new seasalt and maybe other items you change, but regardless these are not Nibisco Crackers Original. If you want to sell the crackers with seasalt, then tell the public the truth on the box, but for us who really like the original salt and loved the crisp cracker, bring them back and stop trying to fool us. Did you think we would not tast the difference and you would just sneak the word Original with seasalt onto the box and you could fool the public. Shame on you. Keebler saltine crackers was never my first choice, but at present, they have a much better cracker than yours, because you decided to try and fool your consumer with this crap you are calling your original saltine cracker. As for me and my family, we will be buying Keebler saltine crackers, until you decide to really go back to the Oringinal Saltine Crackers. Thank you for hopefully listening, James Cheyne

diesel fuel smell
Like so many others, I have had issues with an extremely strong diesel fuel smell on both saltines and graham crackers by Nabisco. Yesterday, made a graham crust. Had to throw the pie out it smelled and tasted so bad. Crackers were close to expiration date. Also, have complaint about expiration dates on package. The "best if used by" was printed in white on a dark background. Then the actual date was printed in black on dark blue background--almost impossible to read. Almost like company wants to make it very difficult for date to be seen.
packaging
I haven't purchased this product in a long time (diabetic) but recently bought these cookies for company. The package was easy to open & reseal - too easy as I discovered several cookies missing! Therefore how easy would it be for someone to tamper with them? Not wanting to possibly serve contaminated cookies, I threw the cookies away. Needless to say, I won't be making future purchases and will give your other products more scrutiny.

chemical taste
Today I gave my kids some saltine crackers, and my son immediately said they taste bad. I took one sniff and WHEW! They smelled like a refinery! I grabbed the entire box and took a whiff of the other sleeve, and yes, the same horrid chemical smell. You would think I'd learned my lesson. This was my second experience with this smell from the Nabisco branded saltine crackers. It really makes you wonder about the processing and/or packaging of these products. I can see from the comment boards that I am not alone and there are a few examples of this happening. Never again.

Box looked good but crackers inside were broken into picecs
crackers have paint fume smell
Opened a fresh sleeve of Nabisco "original" Premium Saltine Crackers, the "fresh stacks" sleeves, and the smell of chemical fumes was overwhelming. It smells like paint fumes or something. Called a friend over to smell them, who recoiled after sticking his nose in the sleeve. There is something very wrong with these crackers, I see a lot of other complaints about it, and they are NOT exaggerating. These are not just a little "off", these smell like someone doused them with spray paint. The worst part is that I was going to eat them because I was nauseous -- now I'm nauseous and have a headache.
I am saddened because Nabisco continues to decrease the size of the Ritz Cracker box; thus decreasing the amt of contents
the customer receives. I know about inflation; but this is out of control. I will probably stop buying these; one of my favorite crackers.
saltines taste like a toxic chemical
I opened a package of Saltines and ate one and noticed a very bad taste and smell. I wasn't sure where it was coming from and started to eat another one and smelled the Saltine cracker and it reeked of a horrible chemical smell? Didn't smell like anything that could come from a food item. It has left a strong chemical taste in my throat and has left me feeling queazy. I have two small boys who eat Saltines a lot, I'd like to know the source and cause of this and determine whether it is a danger. Has anyone heard from Nabisco on this matter? It is very serious.
The saltine crackers smelled awful & tasted worse...what has happened?
no filling n tasted bad
I recently (03/25/12) purchased a package of Oreo Original sandwich cookies at local Walmart. The package had the 100th birthday loga. Every cookie had only half the filling, and what was there was so thin that it was indistinguishable when you looked at cookie. Also the cookie itself was so thin it broke into pieces. Having been oreo cookie fan all of my life this was not the product I know. Did I get a rejected package? I hope this isn't the new Oreo cookie as I will discontinue to purchase and my family loves them.
Just thought it should be reported in the event it was just a fluke. The barcode is [protected] and another number [protected].
Thank you, A disappointed Oreo cookie consumer.
I have one thing to say I will never buy your racist gay cookies Ever again !
Disappointed tonight in the packaging of this product. I have been buying them for years. Tonight while opening the package, several of the cookies are missing (my estimate would be 6). This packaging is easy to open and seal back and you never realize it has been opened when purchasing. I will not trust this product anymore. Please add a safety seal!
Do not like the packaging. I just opened my pack and there were several cookies missing. This packaging is too easy to open and seal back and you don't even realize it has been opened. Need a safety seal on it!
Why are you getting so cheap with the filling in the Oreo? You have to be losing more money than boosting your profit. A wise person once said "IF IT AINT BROKE. THEN DONT FIX IT"! Reset the line to release more filling on the Oreos!
I bought a pack of Oreos out of the vending machine today, which is something that I seldomly do as I try to eat healthy but never again will I buy Oreo cookies, the taste of them now are so nasty, no chocolate flavor whatsoever in the cookie. This used to be my favorite since I was little girl, thanks for messing that up.
Just purchased two packages because the Grandkids love them. What a disappointment. Filling is probably less than half of what it used to be. Certainly not what is pictured on the package. (False advertising?)The cookies had at least half of them broken. If this is the "new" Oreo you can keep them as we won't be buying them any longer. Perhaps when your sales fall off or better yet just end you will wake up and stop taking advantage of your customers. Such a shame, you ruined a good product.
We also have been Oreo cookie fans for over 20 yrs and they are just recently starting to taste different and it's not for the better... Have you changed ingredients or cheapened the recipie? I can tell you we won't be buying Oreos anymore due to the fact they are not worth the calories and sugar content I used to justify eating them for because they tasted absolutely wonderful until now.
I have had the same experience with the OREO COOKIE. Damn...I never tasted a cookie that was so bad. No filling...cookie was dry and disgusting. I swear off OREO COOKIES forever. Like everything else the OREO COOKIE that was is no more.

Dear Oreo, It broke can you fix that by making them stronger.
dear oreo, i have been reading some the complaints about your cookies and ive noticed they seem to be coming from the cookies marked in 100 year old birthday packages. my wife and i (46and 43) were on a trip from omaha to denver and we were both wanting oreo cookies so we stopped in york, nebraska walmart . we felt like kids getting milk and oreos for our trip. we opened up the package and i grab a cookie not waiting for the milk and to my surprise this wasnt the oreos i normally eat. the cookie part was like different hard and crunchy. i finished the one bite threw out the rest of the cookie out the window i was soooo let down.the difference was like a regular coke to a diet coke just plain off.i hope that this isnt going to be how oreos will be from now on because we will no longer be buying them thank you mike and tammy hall
bad, oil taste
Opened a new sleeve of saltine crackers to use in soup. Crushed about 5-6 in my hand, noticing they felt stale. I decided it didn't matter since they were going in a non-cream soup and would be soggy anyway. I tasted one and immediately noticed a really disgusting taste. My first thought was that it tasted like motor oil. I picked them out of the soup, but the damage was done. I could still taste it, and threw the rest of the soup (and crackers, obviously). Thee crackers were past the expiration date by quite a bit, but since they were sealed I really didn't think it mattered. Guess I was wrong. The good news is maybe we've found a way to turn crackers into crude oil. Energy crisis solved.
When you crushed them in your hand and they felt stale...why would you put them in your soup? Just cant throw away the outdated stuff?
foul odor
Product purchased 2010 Box Serial No. [protected] and 2 packages were consumed with no odor. Recently, the product was opened after a long period of no use, and a profound obnoxious odor was present. The company said to just throw them out because the odor was probably from something in our cupboard. That is impossible since the crackers were sealed in air tight wrappers. Something is not right here. Last time I will purchase from Kraft Foods North America!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Purchased oyster crackers in small packages. They are stale and taste awful.
this is the second time this nabisco orig prem crackers smell and taste like paint... i will not buy these again
I just opened a pack of Nabisco saltines and they had this awful and very, very strong chemical odor. I actually took a small bite not realizing that it was coming from the crackers and the they tasted horribly bitter. I e-mailed nabisco re: this and have not received a response. Will never purchase from Nabisco again.
I recently just opened a pack of Nabisco Original Saltine Crackers and the smell was enough to make me throw up. It smelled like methane, or some paint product. I threw those away and opened a second pack, they had the same awful smell. I threw out the entire box. Why doesnt Nabisco notify people of something being wrong? St. Louis Missouri
Return them to the store you bought it from.

premium saltine crackers
I have purchased two boxes of Nabisco Premium Saltine Crackers and they both have been contaminated with a toxic smell and taste. I have seen other complaints on this subject and I have contacted the company. I can't believe they have not issued a recall. This is a dangerous health concern.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I have purchased a box of the original premium saltiness crackers and for one the date on the box is April 07,2022. Second of all in does have a bad oder and a very bad taste.
Always bought premium saltines. Not anymore. Quality is GONE! What's the problem? Did they think we're too stupid to notice? Just garbage...
I thought it was me. I bought a box last week and they taste like the cheaper brands and are drier. When it comes to crushing crackers in soup, Nabisco has always been my go to brand. Switching to Ritz.
I have always enjoyed Nabisco Premium Saltine Crackers. They now taste like crap. They have half the salt they use to have. The crackers themselves are overcooked and tasteless. What the hell happened to these crackers that use to be the mainstay of American life. This may have just been a batch that went under the radar, however, if it isn't remedied, they will not be part of my household ever again.

I just tried salted top Nabisco Premium saltines after years of not eating them. I agree with you completely. So disappointing. Not salty enough and the consistency of the cracker is different. I remember them being more flaky. Now it is hard.
Ditto! Simply crumble, impossible to spread peanut butter, soft cheese, oreven soft butter. And a very odd odor and taste. EVERY box we have purchased for months. What the heck have you done, Nabisco? You used to be the go-to saltine! Now, rubbish.
I just had the same exact thing and was a new box of saltines. All 3 other packages tasted fine but this last one was awful. I am getting over norovirus to so this is NOT good! YUCK Why I usually buy only organic. UGH Nibisco is a dirty GMO company anyhow.
Sorry about the earlier double post.
But I forgot to add that they too crumble very easily, often they're in crumbs in the waxed paper sleeve.
To me their "Premium Unsalted Tops" tastes like some sort of soap or possibly mold.
To me their "Premium Unsalted Tops" tastes like some sort of soap or possibly mold.
Can’t believe what’s happening with my crackers. My saltines don’t taste the same and are nothing but crumbles when opened. I kept buying thinking it was just a bad box !Nabisco has always been my brand……probably not anymore. Has the company sold?
Have you filed a formal complaint here on the site? I noticed the complaint we've commented on says "resolved" which means it's not being read by the complaint board. I went ahead and filed a formal complaint last week and I think it is supposed to be reviewed by the company. It would be great if others file complaints versus comment so they pay attention, and actually investigate.
I agree they aren't the ones we grew up with. Food quality in the U.S. is crap. All part of agenda 21 to depopulate ;-) The elites hate humans. Try to buy organic.
today is July 29-2021. I am also complaining about Nabisco saltine crackers. They will not stay fresh like they used to even if you put the sleeves in the freezer right after you buy them. If you try to eat them they are rancid and stale and taste and smell like used motor oil. I wonder if Nabisco sold the saltine cracker division? I would be interested to know and especially know what country bought them. That would probably tell us a lot just to know what country we are dealing with. I don't know what they've changed in the process BUT THEY HAVE CHANGED SOMETHING! I USED to love saltines with certain things but I refuse to buy them anymore! Does anyone know of a good substitute that is real similar to them?
Ditto! Filed a complaint just now. I want them to test our box, it could be poisoning children or adults that may be eating them while they are already ill, because that is what you eat when you have the flu! Very upset.
I had one Nabisco Premium Saltine Cracker after my wife had put them in her soup. As an engineer I thought the horrible taste was that of a weedkiller or something similar to chemicals used in manufacturing processes. Now I am waiting to see if my wife or I get sick and saved the crackers for investigation if needed.
plastic packaging made product vile
i bought four boxes of their one lb. saltines in May. The user complained about the taste change. Upon taking the box out when i had lunch with him the package smelled moldy. After checking the the boxes which all were in date we had to put them in the trash. No wonder he lost his appetite earlier. I found the product so bad that the garage had to be aired. I tried for a week to contact Kraft foods. We will go to the FDA. Also of no surprise Kellog is recalling their cereals for a similar packaging problem.
not good
Nabisco krackers are no longer the same as they were for the 50 years that we have been buying them. They just are not worth carrying home. We also notice that they are not moving off the shelf at the store the way they use to.
08-04-2016 Thursday afternoon. I was watching a show and thought it would be nice to have a few Ritz crackers, (I do this from time to time love the taste). Opened up the sleeve and ate a few and when I went to take another on there was something on it like dried peanut, I looked at a few more and they had it on them too, needless to say I quit eating them and thou them away. To look at the stuff on them, it almost made me sick, I guess it was not knowing what it was.
there is not anything else I want to say
there should not be anything on a cracker that is suppose to be just a cracker.
The last two boxes of Nabisco Saltine crackers that I purchased had to be thrown away because the crackers emitted a definite plastic chemical odor. Is there maybe a problem with their processing equipment or packaging?
bad cracker
the last 2 times i purchased saltine crackers from the Jackson, Ga Ingles Supermarket they were old. This box has a date of June 09 . Bar code [protected] Why do they sell old crackers?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

I'm still crumbley crackers hale the time. My next trip to the store I'll get a different brand
what the hell is wrong with u people. do u not ever eat your crackers...They are half done,
no taste, look awful, and make me sick to serve them...I hope everyone will quit buying nabisco... are you having them made in china, or where...you should be ashamed of yourself...you have many, , many, , people writing in and it does not seem to bother you... It is a waste of my money to buy and throw away white, half cooked, tasteless crackers from my country...Ae you making so much money that you don't care what americans think...I have stopped buying your products and I am in the process of getting winn dixie and other to quit handling your products...you are a disgrace to your company name...
Oreo cookies have become so thin they break up before you can get them out of the package which getting them out is very easy but they are still breaking up the cream filling is barely noticable What happen Nabisco not making enough profit's i would rather pay a little more to keep the cookie from almost disappearing and i don't mean by eating them you should rename them thin oreo's like the thin mint's.
the saltine crackers are sometimes crumbley and other times crisp, but yet firm and not crumbley. If they were crumbley all the time, I would find another brand. Nabisco needs better quality control.
My name is Leon Wilkinson, Pastor. - I am somewhat of a cook and making Banana pudding is something all of the memebers of my family and church family asked me to make on a weekly basis... The last few weeks I have purchased boxes (5 to 8 ) to make requested orders and the wafers were very, very hard and dry... some boxes looked like they had not be inspected and apprived for sell... Some cookies even looked like they were nibbled on my small animals and were very hard... I go back to the store and return them when I can; however I don't have a large food store in the township where I live... I'm 60 yrs old, I grew up on Nabisco wafers, I beleive in your product and I use it regularly... What I want is the following: 1) our cookies inspected more closely before released 2) that old boxes not taken from one store and place in a poor area store as is the custom. and 3) I want some cupons to replace boxes I didn't take back to the store but threw away... my email addres is esa5498@sbcglobal.net... Thanks
nabisco chips ahoy whit fudge cookies tasted great but they had more then 6 cookies missing
I have lookd in every grocery store in my area and can not find any sugar wafers. I would like to find a grocery store that carries them. I live in Kinston, N>C>
My complaint on CHIP'S AHOY in the peel back package the cookies aren"t as fresh as they were in the sleeve packages, also the peel back flap on the front makes me think [ or feel ] that somebody could of been in the package and seeled it back before my purchase I don't think the seal is as safe as they were in the two sleeve package.
scam
This is a pet peeve, but here we go: I like the products, good snack food; however, one package in ten has a bad seal on one end or sometimes, both ends. If I open the box and neglect to check to see if the plastic sleeve is (Heat?) sealed at both ends, I sometimes get a trail of cracker crumbs across the table or worse, the kitchen floor. I have even had one package that was stale, the opening was so large. I have emailed the company with no reponse, I called to ask for communication with the quality staff at the bakery, and they took my name and sent me a coupon for a free box of crackers. It meant that they just want me to go away. "Don't bother us". If this was a one time event, I wouldn't be complaining, but it happens every month or two (I like these crackers, eat a lot).
My question is multi-pronged: 1) why is it that all the other Nabisco products are well sealed but not Saltines? 2)How can I reach someone in the quality department of Nabisco (a division of Kraft Foods) and have a rational conversation? This sealing issue is one that I have never run into before with a Nabisco product (I am a faithful customer) but Saltines has repeat problem after problem! They have to know about it. Oh; one time one of the packages had little bugs in it. Threw that one out.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I eat a lot of Ritz Crackers and from time to time cannot easily open one end of a sleeve. I try the other end and open it easily. I had a passing thought that maybe that was planned, but I really don't think so. (I suppose, to be rigorous, I could start checking the unopened end after I finish the sleeve.) I'm thinking they just do not have control over the sealing process. This is probably a good indicator of their whole approach to process and quality control.
Just opened a box of Ritz crackers and each sleeve had about an inch of room at the top. The package is the same size, but there are less crackers in each sleeve. Used to be that one could hardly open the top without breaking the crackers. Thanks for the extra room. Please send the rest of the crackers in another sleeve.
Nabisco doesn't care at all about it's customers. This is not the same Nabisco as it used to be, they were bought out by a huge evil corporation which only has greed and low quality as their main goals. We are now paying more and getting less product and a far lower quality. Unhealthy crap filled with chemical additives is all that Nabisco / Kraft Foods is peddling now. Vote with your wallet and stop buying all Nabisco and Kraft junk. There are plenty of better quality alternatives such as Keebler or store brands which taste better and are healthier than the rubbish Nabisco now makes.
I have a complaint about the ritz crackers as well. We eat a lot of them in our house and they have been under cooked or over cooked (tasted like pretzels). They have not been sealed well either. I don't want to switch but if it keeps up I am going to have to. I wonder how many people just switch and don't say anything.
You would think the company would care about your complaint. We keep them employed.
chipsahoy!
I grew up with Chips Ahoy and got hooked to these choc chip loaded cookies which melted in ones mouth. Today I can actually count the choc chips & the cookie itself taste awful. Did the recipe change or is it only in South Africa?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Are they making the cookies with saw dust now? This is terrible! I got a package and what a mistake!
We have been buying Chips ahoy Reduced Fat for along time and loved them but lately they have been dark and dry not like before when they were light and sort of melted in your mouth. what have you done to the cookies. If this continues we will no longer be purchasing them
I bought a bog of Family Size Chips Ahoy this weekend. I know Chips Ahoy have changed for the worse in recent years, gotten smaller, taste a little different. BUT, this package takes the cake. They were very thin, very small, almost like a cracker. I'll being saying goodbye to Chips Ahoy unless they bring back the standard cookie I remember
I was missing a cookie. thumbs down
the cookies here in metro detroit are hard, dark and dry. I remember when they were light in color and fluffy. They use to taste wonderful when eat them with a glass of milk. Now you have to give them a minute to absorb the milk because they are so hard and flat. What the hell... I know they took out an ingredient to save money because everyone is cutting back some kind of way.
Not sure if the recipe changed, but here in the United States they taste awful. I can't believe that anyone would pay such a premium price for such poorly made cookies. They say "Real cookies" on the package but I highly doubt they are flour based, probably some type of substance that requires no heating just pressing. This may explain why they are so chewy, of course if anyone likes that sort of style then they probably have no idea what a properly baked cookie tastes like anyway (unless they like it based on a texture preference.)
Toxic contamination
I have the same complaint, same UPC#...They taste like insectiside of something. I ate about 10 of them in my chili last night, woke up in a sweat, turned on AC and went back to bed...Today my children all complained about them, and I tasted seperately from any other food...They Smell and taste horrible, also burn my throat some...just drank milk to dilute and rinse...?
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Just open a pack of saltines.. crushed them in my soup. I had to dump everything. Taste like chemicals maybe bug poison. I've never experienced anything like this in my 42 years. I'm scared my toddlers will get sick.
Oh my gosh no matter the brand, I have noticed the past year all of them taste like chemicals and I end up throwing the entire box out. And yes it burns my throat and I can not get the taste out of my mouth. Something is going on.
*I MISS MY SALTINES THAT DO NOT TASTE LIKE CHEMICALS *
Ran out of crackers so I bought a new box. Everything was fine. This is my routine. I have an old Tupperware cracker box that holds 4 sleeves. I put 3 in it and I also have a single sleeve Tupperware container that I put of the packages in. All were sealed up nice and snug unopened wrappers and in the air tight containers. When we got around to needing crackers with out homemade soup, the single Tupperware and unopened crackers had the smell of a bad chemical. I didn't have to open the crackers to smell them. I tasted one and it was rancid horrible. I opened the large Tupperware container and the smell was also horrible. This is without opening the crackers and in 2 separate air tight containers. So, this has to have something to do with the wax packaging. I washed the 2 Tupperware containers with Dawn and they still stunk, then washed with with Clorox spray cleaner and the still stunk, then filled them with like a 25/75 mixture of Bleach and water and let them sit. The odor was still there after an hour. We had the Tupperware containers for decades and I sure hated to but, we had to throw them out. Whatever this is, it's bad.
I recently opened an unexpired box of unopened premium saltine crackers and they literally smell like plastic or some type of horrible chemical. I know your post was years back but seeing what came of your complaint? Did you get an answer as to what was causing the unpleasant chemical smell? Inquiring minds want to know. Thx :)
I THINK the manufacturers of various crackers and cookies etc are SPRAYING them with something to give a longer shelf life. I don't know what it is but to me its non-edible and from now on when I get a package where the contents SMELL funny, I"m taking them back to the store I bought them from. I'll tell them why too.
Just bought these crackers at family dollar and they taste like perfume or chemicals of some sort wth?
I disagree with off gassing as I store my dry products in a cinder block room in my basement. No pressboard at all. Have had to throw out all of my cracker and storage. Will be making my own from here on out. Its the packaging! Had some nuts do this also, please be careful folks!
Same with me, made the meatloaf taste like the rancid crackers, what I want to know is why no one is posting wether or not they got sick! This is truly important as there are alot of scared people out there. I experienced the metallic taste and a bit of an upset stomach. So far I have not experienced vomiting. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU EXPERIENCED ANY ILLNESS AFTERWARD!
We just opened a box of Honey Teddy Grahams and the crackers had an awful, petroleum kind of odor! The expiration date is a year from now so that wasn't the issue.
Immediately threw away the box and will never buy them again! DO NOT PURCHASE!
I just brought teddy graham's from a discount store. They had expired 2 months ago. So I thought the were good. Opened them fed them to my 5 yr old and 18 month old and I tasted them. The bag had a strong smell and my lip and tongue felt numb after tasting. I stopped the kids from eating them. Now I am worried we will get sick. I can still smell it on my hands. What is this?
I believe what most of you are describing is a result of Off Gassing. The wood or finish used in your cabinets give off small amounts of gas and foods like saltine crackers, gram crackers, oats, Chex Mix, nuts, etc absorb the gas over time and leave the smell / taste. Using saltine crackers as an example, they are also known as soda crackers because baking soda is an ingredient. Think about it, we use baking soda in our refrigerators and other places to absorb odors. .
In my 20+ years experiencing this issue off and on, I have been able to narrow down what I believe is causing the issue and it comes down to the type of wood used in shelves and cabinetry. The invention of and use of partial board became wide spread over that past 40 years because it was a cheaper alternative to solid wood, especially in pantry shelves and cabinets. I have concluded the process used to create partial board continues to Off Gas for decades and foods susceptible to absorbing odors, like saltine crackers, absorb enough gas over time to make the food taste and smell bad.
This issues is compounded because we store the food in an enclosed environment like a pantry or kitchen cabinet where there is poor air circulation, causing a higher concentration of gasses, all to be absorbed by the food.
My conclusion:
1. Root cause is off gassing from the partial board or possibly the cabinet / shelf finishes
2. Storing foods with high odor absorbing properties in the cabinet or on the shelves
3. Closed environment with little or poor air exchange
4. Time - the amount of time the food has been stored in the environment.
5. Variables - The concentration of the gasses and exposure times.
I have not found a solution short of replacing the cabinets or shelves with quality solid wood and guaranteed non toxic finish.
This same issue has happened to me multiple times and has caused me to waist many many boxes. I have had the same problem with crackers opened as soon as I brought them home from the store. I have also had this same problem with white rice. I have read also complaints of graham crackers smelling the same way. My personal opinion is that certain foods absorb packaging chemicals. Seems to me that manufacturers started changing their packaging materials several years ago and these issues are coming to light more and more.
While your assessment sounds very plausible, it does not apply to my case. I have been buying the same varieties of crackers for a decade and storing them in exactly the same place, sometimes well beyond expiry date, without any problems whatsoever. But in the case of a packet I bought recently - Nestlé Tostines water biscuits (a product I usually keep in stock) - upon opening the packet (with a due by date of [protected] - 3 months from now) I immediately detected a paint smell. So I tried eating a couple, with cheese - with no dire consequences other than the disagreeable smell, which also affected the taste - then transferred the rest of the crackers to a plastic container kept in a different location. I have just dipped into them again, but the paint smell and taste remains, so I am only keeping the product with a view to providing evidence to support a formal complaint to the supermarket and manufacturer. My point is that the problem cannot be linked in any way to my storage here. Either it stems from the packaging (though I have been buying this product for decades without ever encountering this problem previously) or the way it was stored by the supermarket or transported to the supermarket, or the origin stems back to the distributor or manufacturer (here in SP, Brazil).
back stabbing
Just a heads up for the people that have dealings with this guy! He would sell his mother for a promotion. You may think that his corny laugh is ok but if you let him know about your personel business or work habbits and exspecailly your ideas (He will take credit for your ideas, I know first hand!). I am or was having an affair with him until a few days back because of the above comments and the fact he would not leave his wife like he said. I know first hand about what I have stated and we will leave it at that. One final note is I do know most if not all the people he works with and things have been mentioned about 90% of you. FYI Springdale

I bought a box of Roasted Vegetable Ritz Crackers. The box had four long rolls in it, each roll I opened I was lucky to get four whole ones in my hand. They are so thin and brittle they immediately break up into little pieces. I complained to Ritz just recently about the issue. The quality control went out the window when they left the USA.
why can I not find them? the cheese ones are everywhere. don't like them! shaw's, stop and shop, dollar general, star...no one has the peanutbutter ones.
I buy Ritz crackers, the 18 stack box from Sams warehouse several times a year. This last box the tops and bottoms of the stacks were sealed, but none of the stacks were sealed down the sides. Crackers were getting stale. I just bought these in September 2023.
What to do?

I love Ritz crackers (original), but this last time I purchased, the sleeves were not full, but also, they looked very pale, and half baked! Like it was Rushed! Very disapponting...Usually they are a beautiful brown, these are very Pale and taste like flour! 12/02/2022 12:00 p.m. at our local store.
Purchased a box of these and they tast like kerosene or some other chemical.
Lot number on box 180C120 ? 3 01-1 00:42
Unfortunately we had already consumed two packages before we went to open another we noticed what looked like soft peanut butter chunks throughout the package. My 10 month old enjoys snacking on these and I am very concerned with what this is. I have pictures if you'd like.
Not really a complaint. Just wondering why the spreading stick is not longer in the handi-snacks crackers 'n cheesy dip
Products are getting smaller and less qty, yet the prices increase.
I will no longer buy these products.
It's not just Nabisco either - it's across the board with almost every consumer product and not improving.
Sad to say - I grew up with FN's and such back when the product and the consumer mattered. So disappointing.
No more...
Bye.
The entire box purchased at Walmart is burnt, literally burnt black
