am writing to express my extreme frustration regarding a matter that should not have occurred in the first place.
I have recently noticed that DStv – Credit Provider (DPP: Decoder Payment Plan) has listed my name with the credit bureaus, namely TransUnion, Experian, and XDS, under the following details:
Account Number: [protected]-1605476
Status Code: ACCOUNT CLOSED
Overdue Balance: R 0,00
Current Balance: R 0,00
Based on the information reflected above, there is clearly no outstanding balance and the account is closed. Therefore, there is absolutely no legal or factual basis for my profile to be listed with any credit bureau under these circumstances.
This listing is both incorrect and prejudicial, and it negatively affects my credit profile despite there being no debt owed. It is extremely concerning that such an entry was allowed to be reported in the first place.
I therefore request that DStv urgently instruct TransUnion, Experian, and XDS to remove this listing from my credit profile with immediate effect. Kindly also provide me with written confirmation once the removal instruction has been submitted to the respective credit bureaus.
Should this matter not be resolved promptly, I will have no alternative but to escalate the issue to the relevant regulatory bodies, including the National Credit Regulator, as this listing appears to be in clear contravention of fair credit reporting practices.
I trust that DStv will treat this matter with the urgency it deserves and rectify this error without further delay. This is very wrong to place people on the credit bureau no wonder there are so many complaints online from people. DSTV can do better.
Desired outcome: Removal from the credit Bureaus
