Tried to port cell phone number to Metro by T-Mobile via online WEB site, bringing my own phone. Was never asked if I wanted to keep my phone number, but instead was given a new number and had to call the help line to keep my current number. No one, even after several transfers could help me. Since my credit card was already charged for the first month of service during the failed attempt to port, I requested a cancellation and a refund. I was assured the refund would post in five business days.
After ten business days without a credit posted, I called the help line again. This time I was told that they could not provide the credit because the account set up was not completed and I would need to contact the credit card issuer to do so. I now have opened a merchant dispute with my credit card issuer to remove the charge.
Recommendation: Do not use Metro by T-Mobile Web site for number port or phone help. Instead use store front if available.
