McAfee Virus protection

After buying my new laptop in late March last year, I bought a trial package of McAfee's online virus protection. However, I was unaware that McAfee could carry on taking money from my Current Bank Account once the trial period had ended. They have charged me £79.99 for a "service" I have not even used! I have only the last week or so been able to check my online bank statements dating back to late December of last year, 2022, as I have had a very bad bout of Covid virus, followed by "long Covid" as well as two serious dental abscesses. All together, this resulted in serious pain and utter fatigue; no energy at all.

Today I 'phoned my bank, and to my horror I found that my bank will only step in and try to resolve this issue if a complaint is less than 120 days old. The bank has now blocked McAfee from taking any more money from my bank account. There is still the issue of the £79.99 that McAfee took from my current account on 28th December of last year, 2022. I have emailed McAfee, but all I get is an automated reply stating that their inbox is full. I have tried ringing McAfee's Customer Services, but there is never any answer. Their 'phone just rings and rings and rings, and no one picks it up.

Desired outcome: I want my £79.99 refunded in full, please!

McAfee Data breach protection

I have been a McAfee customer for years. Over the years I have received emails from obvious scammers and from McAfee itself offering special pricing for additional products or services that I don't currently have, Two days ago I received such an offer that appeared genuine so I ordered the product. The product appeared to download properly until it came to a screen asking for a verification code. That process didn't work so I contacted support and received long wait times finally reaching support obviously in India which is not unusual these days. After several attempts of "fixing" the problem they referred me to the accounting department who wanted to refer me to the support department etc., This process occured over a period of two days. This is the third day and no calll back as promised so I called again and got the same run around. When I requested to be connected to the United States the reply was "we do not have customer support in the USA." Currently I am out my money, have no product, and more than likely compromised my identity. So far cammot find a phone number for Corporate USA.

Desired outcome: My money back and someone fired for such a mismanaged corporate operation. At the very least reported to the BBB and Channel 7 on our side.

McAfee Subscription charges

I was being charged twice for subscription fees on May 19 and 23rd. I tried calling the customer service line, I got hanged up out of a sudden. When I tried to call the customer service again, I am not sure if the person on the other end was a robot or a natural person. She just go on talking non stop which is totally irrelevant to me. I got really frustrated as I am not sure how should I go about resolving this issue.

Desired outcome: I want a refund for the amount that was being charged to my card on May 23rd. My card was already debited once on May 19th, and now I was being charged again on May 23rd.

McAfee McAfee

McAfee charged me for a service I didn't want on 1/2/23. I have been fighting this issue for 5 months. I canceled them because they didn't clear up viruses.

They charged my credit card anyway. After 2 months they won't issue a refund, but held the process up so wouldn't have to give me a refund. Don't get McAfee.

McAfee Funds being taken from my account twice

I called yesterday and spent over an hour on the phone to one of your assistants. It wasn't an easy process at all and was actually quite stressful. I was calling to state that funds had been taken from my account on both March 7th 2023 99.99 and May 15th 2023 109.99 both for the same product and I only have 1 device. I believe that the emails attached to the accounts are [protected]@gmail.com and [protected]@netball.im. I am in control of the [protected]@netball.im email and the other email I believe is shut down and was done so before I took on the role attached to the emails. I asked for a refund on either of the items and was told I couldn't have one as the one that you would choose to refund has gone over 60days and that the one from May is the one I would have to keep so you couldn't refund this one. When I asked why not I was told because I said that the other email was shut down that I didn't own it and couldn't continue with this one. Therefore you have taken funds from my account for a product I cannot use because you say it doesn't belong to me, yet I have paid for it? This doesn't make sense at all. I would like to be refunded for both. I request that you remove any payment details that you have relating to me and that you remove any data that you hold relating now that I will no longer be a customer. If I am unable to cut the relationship immediately then I will continue with the March item, request a refund for the May item and ask the same that you remove any payment details you have for me and stop the auto renewal. Once the year is over and our business relationship ceases, I ask that you remove any data relating to both accounts.

Desired outcome: see info

McAfee Mcafee Antivirus 5 devices

On the 11th of May 2023 my computer generated a message that my antivirus was turned off and discovered to my horror that my Mcaffee had expired. There had not been any notification that it was due for renewal. I immediately set about doing that. I paid £44,49 (but note the same Mcafee antivirus is available for £22.49). A download and link was immediately sent by email, but no matter how many times I tried it was not possible to install it.

I had to request a remote control session by one of your technicians (Rylan I think) who spent some time trying to fix the problem, eventually stopping the remote session saying all was well. In fact all was NOT well, the Mcafee logo remained on my task bar because it was still trying to install the antivirus. To protect my computer, I had to immediately download another antivirus (Norton), which took no longer than just over 5 minutes.

McAfee refund of money and cancellation of auto renewal

I have cancelled auto renewal online with Mcafee in 2022. However this year 2023 they continue to take the money from my account. I have spent days trying to solve the issue with their virtual assistant unsuccessful. I tried calling the numbers they provide also unsuccessful. They do not provide any email address where I can contact them so I can speak or communicate with a real person. I want a refund of my money but it seems that they are quick to take money but when there is a problem, they are not available to communicate and solve the issue.

Desired outcome: Please refund and I would very much appreciate a response.

McAfee Subscription that I no longer use or able to cancel keep being charged

Hi Mc Afee

I purchased subscription a few years ago then stopped. But each year Mc Afee charges me £39.99 when I no longer subscribe.

I am starting to get annoyed that each year I am charged for a service that I no longer use & there is no way of switching the auto renew off. I consider your service a con. There is no way of switching it off so it doesn't renew & shows that I don't have subscription in use but only payments that Mc Afee keep charging me. For past 2 years I have lodged also a complaint with my bank to stop any further payments of £39.99.

Haven't used your service for 2 years.

McAfee Multiple Products I did not order

I have 2 McAfee LiveSafe products and 1 McAfee Total Protection and I do not believe I need the redundant LiveSafe product.

I cannot figure out how to stop them from auto renewing, or choose to continue one product but not another. All the choices appear to be ALL OR NOTHING.

I would like to discuss all this with a human. Cannot be done.

I want to get this rectified ASAP.

Desired outcome: Understand the products I currently am paying for and what they offer [or do NOT offer me]

McAfee Refusal to cancel account per online policy

McAfee refuses to cancel any account even though their website states the steps to do it. Taken from the McAfee policy from their chat "• If you want to uninstall McAfee software from your PC after you cancel your subscription, see TS101331 - How to remove McAfee products from a PC that runs Windows.

If you would like your email and account details removed from McAfee completely, contact Customer Service

and make this request. You can't delete your account yourself using My Account." You can uninstall all the McAfee products, but if you ever had their products install on old devices and removed them from your account, even if there are 15+ years old, McAfee will tell you they are still a part of your account. If you have auto renewal or even if you turn in off, make sure to do screenshots of you account because McAfee will claim that you have auto renewal and draft your account over 30 days before they account is due. Oh, yeah they don't send out auto renewal reminder emails or any emails concerning active accounts; because are to business harassing customer to pay the fee for accounts they closed. You will be charged the max amount they can. You will have to call and chat with them multiple times to get your account closed and they still want to do it. They will argue with you about they not being able to do anything about the account you requested to close. They tell you not to file complaints on the federal and state government levels. Bascially, McAfee is playing the numbers game, where it seems like they have alot of customers, but looking deeper into those accounts you will find that alot of customers have uninstalled McAfee and tried to closed their accounts. You don't have to take my advice on not doing business with McAfee, but if you do, protect yourself. Over 4 hours with chat customer service to get an email changed. Customer Service is so incompetent they didn't understand that my email address was to changed on everything in the McAfee system.

What do you offer what am I signed up for and I do not want to have to work this hard to get an answer.

McAfee Anti-virus software

I deliberately let my account lapse because I had other virus software. McAfee sent and endless number of e-mail solicitations, warning me that my account was lapsing, and then soliciting me to re-new. On April 3 they sent a message saying that they would auto-renew my account, or I could sign up by -mail link (strange, because at that point I had no account with them). The whole point is that I do not WANT their services, and now I must read each and every message form them in case they threaten to auto-enroll me again. They then sent me an "Order Confirmation #CS2992547689; Order received on Thursday, March 31, 2022" when I HAD MADE NO SUCH REQUEST OF THEM, AND CHARGED ME $37.24. I made sure to go to the account link they provided and truned off auto-renewal. I then received a credit card bill Mcafee *Www.Mcafee.Com [protected] Tx) for $160.11. All this for a service which I never requested.

I demand reimbursement for the $160.11 charge; and that McAfee never contact me again. I would never recommend their services to anyone based on their business practices alone.

Desired outcome: I demand reimbursement for the $160.11 charge; and that McAfee never contact me again.

McAfee Subscription renewal

On 03/31/023, I renewed my yearly subscription; however, unfortunately, McAfee's overseas' team managed to charge me twice for the exact same renewal that ends on 04/28/24. Now, I'm out $99.99 and have been unable to get the funds back. I've called Customer Service about four times already and keep getting told that due to an electronic glitch, they cannot simply return the funds to me. So then, it's their mistake - their glitch - and now, my loss. Another thing, I also noted that customers who are being charged via "auto renewal" pay $30 more than customers who manually renew their subscription. In other words, my renewal amount was $99.99 and a customer not under "auto renewal" set-up is charged $69.99. Why is that? So far, I'm still out the $99.99 for McAfee's error - plus, I was overcharged on the renewal to begin with. I've also requested that my entire subscription be cancelled because I cannot trust McAfee any longer. Not one of the reps would give me a straight answer as to how to proceed with the cancellation - nor is there a "Cancel" button on their website. In summary, I'm out $99.99 due to the double charge - plus, the additional $30 for the overcharge on the renewal - and there's no one in their Customer Service Dept. who appears to be willing and/or capable to resolve this issue amicably. This is the worst experience I've had in a very long time.

Desired outcome: Return of the $99.99 for the duplicate charge - plus the $30 for the renewal overcharge. Also cancel the entire subscription.

McAfee charging me for a driver update which is free on tne internet.

I have a total protection package which expires on 1 Jan. 2025 costing £79.99 for a desktop computer, Acer xc-704 with windows 10. I was persuaded to purchase an additional virus protection system on 7 October 2022 for £274.80 with a telephone number to call once a month on [protected] when the operator would take over my computer with a code of join.zoho.com to check on viruses. There were no problems until this month when he told me that he could not do this as the driver needed updating. I could hardly hear what he was saying because of his accent and my wife had to listen to his instructions. He told her that he could update the driver for £460 and I reluctantly agreed to this. But I now learn that I could update the driver free of charge on my computer on the internet. I feel he conned me and he should not have charged me.

I feel I should receive a refund for this amount especially as in previous months there was no problem with my driver or when I use the computer.

Desired outcome: A refund

McAfee McAfee Total Protection

RE: Service Request # 1-[protected]

On March 29th I called McAfee Technical Support regarding an issue with McAfee and my Dell XPS computer. The technician decided the way to fix the problem was to uninstall McAfee and then reinstall it. After removing McAfee, she was unable to reinstall it.

She elevated the matter to a “Level 2” problem and told me another technician would call me back in 1 to 2 days.

The next day I called back and got a Level 2 Technician who claimed the reason that the previous reinstallation attempt was unsuccessful was because McAfee was not completely removed. He then attempted to go through the computer and remove all the files related to McAfee. After 2 hours he attempted to reboot my computer and was unsuccessful. The computer was now unusable. He advised me at that time that I should call Dell.

The next day another McAfee technician called me and tried again to get the computer started. After a number of hours, she too was unsuccessful and advised me to call Dell.

On April 2, I received an email from McAfee Consumer Support that “the Service Request

#1-[protected] has been resolved”.

These people took a perfectly good $1400 computer which was running well and rendered it now completely useless. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

This matter has not been resolved.

Desired outcome: I want the computer running soon or I will need another one ASAP

McAfee Refund

My bank account was debited for $379.95 for renewal of virus protection. I was not aware of this and I cannot afford it so I rang them and they cancelled my subscription and told me I would receive a refund. They sent me a confirmation Email and I noticed that it stated i would receive a cheque in 3 weeks. I do not think this is adequate. my bank account was debited overnight without notice therefore I believe my bank account should b credited overnight instead of having to wait 3 weeks for a cheque.

Desired outcome: Immediate refund into my bank account.

McAfee Unauthorized charges

My bank account was charged well over $100.00 without any notification to me. The automatic renewal was turned off and my card was charged one month before my subscription expires, which is not until April 15th, of 2023. I have to date, contacted the McAfee four times and have been told the same thing each time. I have been told the money is pending back to my bank account and would be posted 3-5 business days; it has not been refunded. I was told a supervisor would contact me within 24 hours; they did not. I called and asked to speak directly to a supervisor today and was told she was on another line; I waited a great deal of time and still no supervisor to address the issue and was told I needed to be rescheduled. It has been 16 days today and still no refund. I see there are over 300 unresolved complaints. I do not intent to let this go; I intend to contact the Better Business Bureau and whomever else I need to contact. This is no way to treat customers and it is not good business ethics.

Desired outcome: I WANT MY MONEY REFUNDED BACK TO MY BANK ACCOUNT.

This happened at approximately 15:10 hours. I had already renewed my subscription on the second March 2023. I would like to know why it was taken from my account and what the transaction was for.

McAfee Auto renewal

Quickly check all your accounts with McAfee. Make sure you do screenshots of what your account states. You will be thankful for this advice. McAfee doesn't not read the consumer side of any changes made to the account. Therefore, if you make any changes please call into customer service to make sure the changes you made through the app and/or website is actually in place. Also, McAfee is turning on auto renewal to accounts that never signed up for it. That is what happened to me. Customer service claimed that I had autorenewal, I tried to explain that I never signed up for it, and that I was currently looking at my account (both the app and website) and it stated that I didn't have auto renewal. That customer service agent tried to argue with me that I had auto-renewal and that they sent me an email stating that they was charging my account. None of that was true. I actually had all my emails from McAfee for a decade, in both my email accounts, and I received no such email for 2023, but had them going back for a decade. They also charged me $149.99 (never paid anywhere near this amount for McAfee) for having multiple computers and phones, which were not listed on my account, because I had removed them myself over the years. I received no apology from McAfee for the misinformation on my account. Truthfully, the only reason I caught their fraud was due to alerts I have on my account. I haven't had any problems over the decade with McAfee, but I don't do no communication, overcharging, and lying about the status of my account. Thank God have do alot of screenshots.
