Variety Wholesalers the whole store and it's employee's

Roses millsboro delaware is the worst store compared to anything I have shopped in worcester county maryland in sussex county delaware in the past 15 years!
I have two infections in both of my kidneys so I get bad fevers today was 103.8 but like the hospital in this town they're not much better than roses
I go there with my son I see a metal frame 12x30in pool nothing was priced at all
My 7 year old son getting over on me says "mommy i'll go find a person for you"
He brings back a lady who says you have to bring the pool up to find out the price f?#@ me I am sick so I weigh about 90 lb I take a picture of the price tag the barcode take it up there they're all standing around having a gossip session at the service desk I showed him the barcode I snapped a picture of they all look at me and say no that won't work you have to bring it up here well can one of you help me say metal frame pool which makes it a little heavier they say we don't have anyone available to do that even though there is 6 of women standing inside a service desk doing nothing?
Really wtf why me... And then look up and say I could barely pull it forward to snap a picture of the barcode I almost collapsed being on short of breath cuz of a high fever and the pool weighs more than me they never said a word never offered to help me out carry their lazy [censored] over there with a price gun and zap the price ripped the damn tag off I did not care what they did but they did nothing...
I come home to find out the website variety wholesale/roses is extremely limited and bare no customer service phone number or contact information whatsoever for this company no contact by email nothing
The ocean city maryland location is a joy to shop at they are clean friendly helpful but they don't sell swimming pools the website has no pricing either on anything like that in store

Point being they need to take all them lazy [censored] low life losers rose's employees in millsboro delaware and some come out back in the dumpster cause these dumb f7cks are beyond worthless

Variety Wholesalers customer service on the manager sara

I was in your location in Fairfield Alabama on April the 15th I had bought some baby clothes from that location earlier that week I couldn't find my receipt so I just wanted to exchange them for a bigger size the cashier told me I could exchange them and they had to be the same price so after looking for about an hour because it was hardly any clothes in the store I found one outfit and a baby toy I went to the register but the cashier was like the manager is not going to do it like that and I asked her why and she said let me get her because she has to do it anyways she was very nice so I waited for the manager to come to the front and when she got to the front she said oh no she can't do it like that it had to be the same price I had to get it from the same area like I had to get baby clothes from the baby section I couldn't get baby clothes and a toy they won't allow me to do it like that and I asked her why she say it again you have to get them out the same section I said you didn't have any clothes over there and I was there for about an hour so this is what I found it's the same price so then she tells the other customers I can help you over here and I'm like ma'am you're not going to help me she just ignored me so I said it again ma'am you're not going to help me she ignored me again and them she said I'm trying to help these customers I said I am a customer and I waiting in line for you to come I said you could have let the other cashier ring up the customers she said this is my register she ain't going to ring up on mines so then I said you could have asked me to come around to your register and help me and she could have continued ringing the customers up she ignored me again so I walked around and I said you need to stop and help me she's like I know you not gonna tell me what to do she was trying to make it seem like I was threatening her or some so I said what you're trying to do is call the police I'll call them matter fact give me your boss's number she was like I'm not going to give you his personal cell phone number I said I don't want his personal cell phone number just give me District number let me call that number. I asked her what was her name she said I'm not giving you my name I said you supposed to have on a name tag anyways so I said do you have a register number you could give me she said no I said how am I going to tell customer service how you treated me if you don't give me your name she said just tell them I'm 70 years old so she did tell me that was her register earlier so I went over and looked at her register and I got her name off it and it said Sara. I just wanted to call, write message whatever I had to do to let whoever is over or own this location how bad I was treated she could have just easily explain to me the reason she wouldnt take my exchange the clothes I purchase and I would have just went to another location to see if they had the size clothes there because I actually wanted what I bought just in a smaller size. She was just so rude and I couldn't believe how rude she was like I wasn't a customer I spent my money in that location I waisted an hour in there searching for something else to purchase. After all that I did get her to finally write down the district managers name David Harris and gave me the 919 phone number I'm just upset about how I was treated at the store and I go in there at least three times a week I know whoever owns this location would like to know that they have a very rude nasty manager working there but the cashier that was there that day I wish I knew her name right now was very nice and even shaking her head to the way she treated me and the other customers agreed with me. Before I left I asked did your cameras work because I hope that you can roll back the cameras and see how rude she was to me. Since this incident on the 15th I have not being inside your store to purchase anything the only reason I've been in there is trying to report her. Variety Wholesalers unethical behavior

On 01/06/2017 my daughter and I were in Maxway in Temple Hills, Md. During our visit we saw a sign that said all Christmas items were 80% off. When we went to the register to check out the associate Denise informed us that she had to get a manager to override the discount because she was not able to do so. We had no problem with waiting for the manager to come over and override for the discount. After checking out completely my total was too much if the items I purchased were 80% off. After reviewing my receipt I noticed that the items were marked 50% off and the manager came over to take 30% off my total. I left the store and went back to get a refund because they are selling false advertisement and I did not receive my full 80% off of my Christmas items. When I went back into the store and told Denise I want a refund, she automatically caught an attitude saying that she has to call a manager and that I did receive my 80% off my items and that I may not be able to get a refund because I had "clearance" items. Tracy did process my refund; however, this store is selling false advertisement. If items are already marked down and I am getting an additional percentage off then say that. Don't say I am getting 50% off and then when I go to check out and the item is already marked 20% and then you give me an additional 30% off. Those are entirely two different things. Also, the customer service at the store is not very friendly. These concerns need to be addressed immediately.

Variety Wholesalers customer service

I went into the Maxway location on summit avenue in greensboro Nc at 8:30 pm. When I entered there were 3 African American females (I am as well African American) at the cash register one called out over the micophone when I grab a basket " everyone to the front with your items we close in 5 min" so I didnt grab a basket I remembered seeing a sign on the door they close at 9pm so I continued because what I needed to Get was very important for the next day. I spent two days several hours looking for a pair of white pants. I am a very heavy set woman and this store was my last option. I needed them for a dance at church the next day. As I was looking the ladies at the register was very loud and playing. Also continue to complain about they are ready to go. One girl came by and I ask her are they really about to close she said no they close at 9pm. At that point this man came from the back dressed in a dress shirt im assuming their manager. They are very loud joking with him as well about his wife and personal life and what his wife gonna say when he get home. Then he goes back to the back. They continued playing and joking. I go up to the register where they are and ask them can I try the pair pants on she tells me No they are closeing in 10min everyone laughs. I tell her this will only take 5. And go back to wait. Still she dont come but it was 15 to closing. I go back up and ask her again can I try the pants on she said no the dressing room closes at 7pm. So I says to her why is it closing at 7pm when yall close at 9pm im not trying to take anything I dont even have a pocketbook or anything to put anything in I just have my wallet. So i asked do you have a manger I knew she did I could see him in the back behind the glass. She said one of the girls she was laughing and joking with was her manager. She came over I explained to her why I needed to try them on. How I had been everywhere this was the last place. I needed to see if they fit. She said No. So I put them back and all my other items and told them to have a blessed day. It hurt me to think that I was targeted and bullied from the first moment i hit the door. I really felt un welcomed. I will never shop at another maxway at least that one. Very ghetto yes I can say it. I grew up there and made it out. From the cashier to the management is an issue! I was bullied!

Variety Wholesalers jacket #[protected], jeans 8835

I purchased these items from Maxway Roanoke va for a Christmas gift. Well, the pants man's, black jeans the gentleman that I gifted them to wore them on Christmas day, , today, and 1st, he lost every bit of money he had in his pocket, the pocket wasn't sewn, then he sat down, the crotch of the pants began to fray, white thread no doubt, he became a joke, its Christmas we all laughed, Well later that afternoon after dinner he put on the jacket I gave him, its warm no doubt, but threes no zipper, both side have the zipper groves but no actual zipper. I am both embarrassed and miffed. You got any ideas, Looks like he lost and I did too. I would very much like to be refunded for my loss, and also for the loss of Mr Linkenhokers 17.33, he also had gum and micelles item that are no subject to refund. I do not wish to deal with the store as the item was purchased on 11/20, as one would purchase gifts ahead of time, refund are not given in store after 30 days, and I really don't care to try these items again as they will simply try to replace them. Variety Wholesalers the new manager keisha

I am so disappointed with the new management at this Maxway. The new manager is very arrogant and rude. It is not just with the customers but, she is also verbally abusive to her employees. She down talks them in front of customers and then when customers say something to her she tries to play it off. I was in your store today, there was only one cashier. Her name was Kyla she was very pleasant. I was watching her do a return. She called for a manager twice before she decided to come assist her. The cashier was very professional yet the manager decided to chastise her for disturbing her. She told her to watch her tone and was very rude. I cannot say enough how embarrassed my family and I were for this young lady. To be put down and disrespected for doing her job is just completely unacceptable. We also witnessed the "manager" talk down to another employee like it is perfectly fine to talk to people this way. You guys need to bring back the other young lady or bring someone in who knows how to treat their customers and the employees

Variety Wholesalers customer service

Back in November, I was in line being rang up by an Assistant Manager named Shea Renee when she stopped ringing me up to join in a conversation with her co-workers. After about 3 minutes she started arguing with another employee that was going on break. No store manager was called, I even found out that the District Manager was in store and did nothing to resolve the issue. I went back in the store last week and the employee that was on break happen to be a assistant manager also and she has quit working for the company.

Variety Wholesalers pricing, employee disrespectfulness

I went into the Maxway store in Baltimore County Md on Eastern Ave in Essex. The cashiers name was Jen. I bought a little girls dress, which was on sale for $5.99 the sign on the rack was printed all dress $7.99 now 30% off new price $5.99. THIS dress was on sale, . The cashier rang it up at $10.00. the laundry baskets were $2.99 she rang them up at $3.99. I told her she charged me wrong and wanted her to fixed it.. This Girl JEN said very rudely and nasty I need to learn to read signs and tags. I know what the prices were, it was the reason I purchased the dress and baskets. I than told her she is not to speak to customers that way, she than told me to became a human being, the Jen was so RUDE, . DISRESPECTFUL and NASTY, I asked for the store manager and he was no where to be found. I have 3 witness to this event and either she gets FIRED, I will check or I am suing Maxway. Jen does not do this store any good. If she spoke like that to me she HAS done it before and no action was given to her, Time to get rid of her . I do retail I know this is not proper customer service . In addition I want my money returned to me that I was overcharged.

Variety Wholesalers service

Referring to the Maxway on Normandy Boulevard in Jacksonville, Florida 32205: I enjoyed shopping there three times, but the one time I had a return to make, I was shocked at the horrible customer service I received! I was treated like dirt. I had the receipt and tag for a pair of jeans that did not fit my son, but as soon as the clerk saw me getting them out of my bag, she rudely told me, in front of a line of customers, they had been worn. I informed her they had not since they were too small for my son. She asked, again, rudely, if I had the tag and receipt, to which I calmly and politely told her yes. She looked at them and said there was cat hair on them and I would have to wait for her manager, and then pushed my stuff to the side and turned her back to me to wait on other customers. "Janice" came over and, again, in front of all the other customers, the clerk loudly explained her thoughts about the jeans having been worn and having cat hair on them. I told them both calmly and politely that they had been worn long enough for my son to find out they were too small and that we have cats. Then, they both "suddenly remembered" that they have "severe" cat allergies and they proceeded to rubbing their noses and eyes and coughing loudly, shoving the jeans into a plastic bag, holding it away from them, and tying it closed, as if it contained hazardous waste. They "compassionately" asked, "What if customers have allergies?" It was as if I had brought in poison of some sort. Then, another "non-allergic" manager was called over to help. I finally got my $8 and change and then I had a bathrobe to return. I had the cardboard and ribbon it had been packed in, as well as the tag, but couldn't find my receipt. I was told I could get something of equal or higher value on that trip only. No problem. I expected that. I went to get another pair of jeans for me, knowing the size already since I had gotten a pair the same size on a previous trip. I was gone and back in no time, so, no surprise, walked up on the three talking about me. The original clerk rang up the jeans and one of the managers said, "You might want to try these on because you can't return them." I told her, "I know they fit because they are the same as the ones I'm wearing." That original clerk rang me up and said, again, rudely and loudly, "It's $1.06 difference. Are you going to be able to pay that?" Again, calmly and politely, I responded to the affirmative and pulled the cash she had just moments before given me for my return out of my pocket. I gave her $1 and a quarter, she gave me my change. The manager then had me fill out the return slip, informing me that, on this one, since I didn't have my receipt, I needed to fill out my driver license information, I was prepared for that. Once I finished, I handed the slip to the cashier, Annette, who snatched it and gave the receipt to the manager, who then wrote across it "EWOR, " which I assume means "exchange without receipt." Once again, I was informed I could not return these because I didn't have my receipt, in a way I'm sure they were hoping made me feel like a thief. I am not, however, a thief, and I did nothing wrong. And to top things off, once everything was said and done, the cashier took my items and told the manager, "Her bag is over there." They took my items and shoved them into the bag I had brought, holding it as if it had cooties and practically holding their noses as they did it. If I were an insecure person, I could have been humiliated, but I am not. If I were an unsaved person, I could have been angry and ugly, but I am not. I never raised my voice nor did I get ugly or irritated. I really was quite surprised at the way I was treated by every person I dealt with on this trip, considering I had been treated well on previous trips. Perhaps it is because it was Thanksgiving? I don't know. I'm sure they have a lot of theft there, knowing the location, but they should not treat people that way. Take them on a case by case basis. I doubt I will return to this store and I was prepared to do a lot of my holiday shopping there. I originally wrote the above review on 11-27-15 on Facebook, and now, on 12-23-15, I see my review has been negated so the only review that counts is from an employee, who gave it 5 stars. Nice.

Store Name: Maxway Location: Fairfield, Alabama Date: October 25, 2015 Complaint: Retail Profiling I was a victim of retail profiling in the Fairfield, Alabama Maxway. On October 25, 2015, I went to shop at the Fairfield, Alabama Maxway stores. When I first entered the store, I found it to be in very bad condition.The store smelled bad, misplaced merchandise and a very rude staff. I spent about 10 minutes in the store before finding the items that I wanted to buy. I went to the checkout. I had about five bottles of vitamins and some shampoo. After the extremely rude clerk totaled my purchase, she began to take the cap off my vitamin bottles. I asked her why was she taking the cap off my bottles. She said that this was store policy to look through all bottles for unsold merchandise. She said that this was a security feature to stop shoplifters. I told her that particular policy seemed to be a bit much. She said that plenty of shoplifters had been spotted in the store, taking the lid off bottles and stuffing them with unsold merchandise. I was infuriated! I told her that this policy in my opinion violated the civil rights of other shoppers who have not shoplifted. At that time, another customer service rep approached the front, (I am not sure, if she was the manager) She was extremely rude, also. She suggested that if a customer can not comply with the store policies, that they are free to leave. I complied. I left all of the store items on the counter, and left the store. The company website is not listed as to where to file complaints. If I am unable to contact Maxway's regional headquarters, I will file a complaint. If I can't, I will seek an attorney. Retail profiling can be dangerous, many innocent people have been wrongly accused and sent to jail! Please stay away from Maxway Stores!

Variety Wholesalers lametra or lamesha

Accused customers of stealing, when she an her friends from Tulane ct, are the main one stealing, on Sunday she pushed out a tote, full of stuff, around 3/3:30, has been fired 3 times an still working at the same store, I made several calls to the maxway on lower wetumpa rd, she kept answering the phone an refused to put the manager on the phone, so I called Fairview maxway an spoken to the manager there, she told me she would call an have Mr Floyd call me, pertaining to the situation, no response because he like her, also she failed drug test, takin loratab without a prescription, seeking on the job, I also spoke with a manager, this morning who stated it's always a group of girls that comes to the store on days she works, an she let them steal for herself and them, all u have to do is play back camera before Mr Floyd erase, anything she also is trying to frame the manager Nina, by letting her friends an herself steal, so they can fire Nina for bad inventory, also in Sunday evening I had called Mrs Bernadette, about this she said she would tell manager

Variety Wholesalers piitiful store (bad attitudes by cashiers

I recently moved here and I Hate Going into this store, its so unorganized to its pitiful. Another reason is that everytime i come into this store theres a black lady who's always standing around talking to one of the employees, think she may be a manager. When its time to checkout theres no one to be found, i think there should be two cashiers at all times and this storee needs more strict managers. Just the other day i saw two male employees stuff something in there pockets and when they saw me they hollered at someone and said they were going to take a break. Last but not least some of the employees are very rude!

Variety Wholesalers being loud and rude

Jan29, 2011 max-way Darlington S.C around seven pm ms.Munn called Lisa Lewis to the office in a very loud voice and rude tone wanted to know when the manger change the sch well it was not posted yet when did he change it i said i don't know you have to take that up with him so i walked out of the office and she follow behind me in a loud voice you and him don't have kids which i do have three kids that she could not work at night she was using bad ugly talk to me loud in front of the customers i didnt say anything back to her . and on jan28, 2011 a customer wanted to buy a table she got rude with them they just said forget it and we never come here again . If this is what you want working for your company you will lose more customers everyday . so you need to have mr.james come in thank you ms.lewis

Variety Wholesalers giving away merchandise

The Maxway store in Whiteville is out of this world. I will never step foot back in there. The two ladies that was on duty today dont know anything, they are not doing their job, and they dont care about anything or anybody. They let someone else take my bag of items that I purchased from another store. Then they stated that there was not anything that they could do and that they were not responsible for lost or stolen goods. Both of them stood and looked at me like I was crazy. If they cant help keep your items up front then why should we have to leave them up there if they are not going to keep watch until we finish shopping?

i bought 3dogwood trees in march so onmarch29, trees were planted 2 stsrting bearing, 1did not so i talked to a employee and she said bring itback so, idug it up, took the tree back.because i had no reciept.the manger would not exchange it.why would even keep reciept when i had no intenton of return the tree.

You need to have a receipt so that the store manager, can, in turn, get credit from the vendor for the defective item (in this case, the tree). I have been returning items for 10 years and yes, I save all my receipts for everything except for food. It's not hard to throw them away after the policy expires and I have yet to have a problem with a return at any store because I follow return policies and keep my receipts. Funny now I don't think that companies should have to pay for their customer's carelessness.

Variety Wholesalers terrible store policies

I have had several bad experiences at the Whiteville Maxway Store. First, this store doesn't provide a restroom for customers, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Any store that has merchandise to sell to customers should also provide a restroom & a dressing room to try the clothing. I have asked & been allowed to use their restroom one time, but the manager was very irritated even though she agreed to let me use it. I have been allowed to go to the back to try items on before. I have also been allowed to return undergarments once. I was told to make sure I had my receipt & that the tags must still be attached to the garment which was a bra. I had no problem with this, but on a previous visit & today I was not so lucky. While there today, I asked to use the restroom & the employee told me NO very adamantly. I replied that I understood she was following orders, but that the store should provide a restroom for customers. Then when I went to the register to pay for my items, I asked if a bra could be returned as long as tags were left on & I didn't delay in getting it back. The cashier pointed to a sheet taped to the counter which stated that undergarments could not be returned. I said to her, "then do you have a place where I can try it before buying?" She looked puzzled, then said no. I replied to her that I understood she also was following orders, but how ridiculous that is. I said "So you don't have anywhere that you will let me try it, but yet once I walk out the door with it, it can't be returned. I told the cashier that the manager had allowed me to return undergarments with tags & receipt. She replied that it depends on what mood the manager happens to be in on that day. HOW RIDICULOUS! I don't know about everyone else, but in shoes, clothing, everything, I wear different sizes depending on brand name & how the item is made. I have had to refrain from buying items that probably would have worked because I didn't want to be stuck with if not. This store REALLY needs to reconsider it's policies & yes, their employees could be friendlier also!

Yes, lilvixen69, just as I thought! You've had to clean up a restroom behind someone who made a nasty mess that they shoud have had to clean themselves. BUT, now you assume that every other person who goes in is the same. Believe it or not, there are people who treat a public restroom with the same respect as their own! It's unfair to not provide one for ANYONE because you're afraid someone might make a mess! What about children who might find it difficult to "suck it up" and move on to the next store? But guess what...I don't really care what you think of my complaint because I think it's pretty clear who the idiot/### is! It's sad that you don't even realize it!

Thanks, Jaime! Glad you agree that lilvixen69's comments were so stupid & ridiculous! I read some of her comments to other posts. She was so nasty in every one I read that I have to say I really think she has some issues that she needs to work on! You're 100% right, I know that some people make the public restrooms nasty, but not everyone! I certainly don't, I use the same common sense that I do at home. There are all kinds of situations when you really need access to a restroom. It's ridiculous to say that you should pee before you leave home. It's not that simple! You should be able to use a restroom in a business where they want you to come in & spend your money! I think maybe lilvixen69 needs to suck it up & bring a little reality into her life!

I had the same problem at the location in Mableton, Ga. earlier tonight when doing some self birthday shopping. One employee was about to show me where the restroom was until another girl who was not a manager stopped us and said "Oh we don't have a public restroom." I've shopped at this store before and used it with no problem. I heard that any establishment that is open to the public is mandated by code to have restrooms available to it's customers, not the general public, "customers."

Our Maxway store once had a public restroom. It was literally destroyed by the customers, they tore down one of the doors and broke the sink. The landlord repaired the restroom and said if we wanted to keep our lease, we could not allow customers to use the restroom, only employees. I broke the company policy and let a customer use our restroom because she said she had cancer and bladder issues. She left the toilet smeared with feces as well as feces covered paper towels and a clogged toilet. She left without even thanking me and I used $5 in company supplies (gloves, bleach, and paper towels/trash bags) to clean up her mess. She didn't buy anything either.
If a store doesn't serve food, they are under no legal obligation to provide a restroom. If you don't like stores that don't, don't shop there. Vote with your pocketbook, and all that.

You're right--they should have had to clean it themselves. But I've seen far more people NOT clean up after themselves than I have the ones who DO clean up after themselves. It's sad when our society has stooped so low that they are barely able to take care of themselves in public, but it is also difficult to see that some people just can't get over the fact that some stores don't have public washrooms. If they don't have them, they probably never will and there's nothing anyone can do about it. You (unfortunately) aren't going to change that all on your own.

I have had to live reality as the person cleaning up those nasty bathrooms. I'm not saying I've never had to pee while shopping--I just don't make a big deal of it and whine when there aren't any public washrooms available. I "suck it up" and move on to the next store.
And the reason I'm so nasty in my comments is because most of the reasons those complaints are made is because the people involved were idiots. Complete and utter ###s. If I agree with a complaint, I usually don't comment at all. There are a lot of complaints I haven't commented on as opposed to those I have, proving I don't disagree with everyone--just the ###s.

And regarding the comment above about the restrooms: Youre crazy if you think we are to believe that YOU have never needed to use a public restroom! Not ONCE in your whole life have you left home and needed to pee!? It would be a lie if you said no! So that was just a stupid comment to make!
I do agree that public restrooms usually get nasty, but that is not the fault of EVERY person that uses it! Just because some slob doesn't know how to ring the toilet doesn't make it right to keep every one from using it!

I had the same thing happen to me today at the maxway in my town! I wanted a bra and I asked if I could try it own. The lady says you can't try on undergarments! I was like IT IS A BRA! Not panties! She then explained to me that you could not return or exchange it either! SO I decided to try it on right there infront of the counter! I put it on over top my shirt! I hated to act that way but my money is as good in my pocket as in theirs! I did go on to buy it and low and behold it fits! I know it was not the cashier's fault! Just policy! I work with the public and we have policies too... but some are just plain DUMB! I mean even WALMART lets you try on a BRA!

Why should stores provide a bathroom for you? Employees don't get paid enough to clean up the crap customers leave in public washrooms. You are SHOPPING in that store, not LIVING there. Suck it up and pee before you leave the house.

Variety Wholesalers manager

I go to this store all of the time to get cheap stuff. When I go in there by myself (I am whit)the manager is nice and everything but when I take my kids in ther with me and they are black the manager follows me all through the store and has even asked to help me in an attitude. I work 2 jobs and would never take anything. Then I go in there today and buy stuff and I do not agree with the price and do not want it Norris(cashier) keeps ringing the items up even after I say I do not want them. Then she tells me I have to give my address and phone number to get a refund on the items I said I did not want from the start so I told her sure I will give you fake information being a single Mom I do not give my information out to anyone. Well she called this stupid manager and she was hateful and snubbed up her nose at my kids. I asked for my money and they kept saying wait until the drawer opens and then they wait on 4 other people opening the drawer each time but did not give me my money. I had to call the police to get them to give me back my money and then I was talking to my kids explaining why we was standing there waiting and she told me to shut up. My Mom does not tell me to shut up. When police got there the manager lied on me totally and said I gave them wrong name and everything and then I asked the officer if he would like to see my drivers license. It said exactly what I gave them. I told the officer how she does when my kids are with me and not and he said"We have had alot of problem out of her" and he does not doubt it one bit. I think she needs to be fored and I am telling everyone about her today and for the rest of this year if needed. Alot of my friends have a problem with her and as company owners you would do alot more business if you got a new manager and some cashiers.

I visited the Maxway store in Tabor City NC, yesterday and was very shocked and disappointed. I have always shopped at Maxway because of the cheaper items you can get there and the atmosphere in the store and with the employees. After yesterday I may never go back into the store, and the lady that I was trying to help find someone to check her out said she would never go back in there. I was in the store at least 10 mins and there wasn't anyone to check no one out. Jason Etheridge is the manager and he walked up to the register and the lady asked which register was open and he pointed to the one she was at and then he walked away. Any manager, if the cashier isn't around to check a customer out would check that customer out. It is called customer service. My mother-in-law went and found the cashier at the back of the store and was telling her about the lady leaving and the cashier said, "well let her go somewhere else." That isn't very good customer service. Also when we were checking out a boy came in that his pants was half way down his butt and he is working there. I have never seen any of this going on in this store before and it was awful. I have applied with this store but wouldn't work at it if called under these circumstances. Just wanted to let you know how your store in Tabor City NC is being run now.

Variety Wholesalers rude, unprofessional management and employees

On today Juliy 1, 2009 I entered the Landover store to return murchandise I searched for the reciept but could not find the correct one I asked for the amount of the sale to be return to my credit card I was told no I thedn asked for management and he never showed up after waiting five minutes I went to look for him myself. I ran into another sales person and asked if he was the manager looking towards the shipping door he replied no the manager is busy and can't deal with you at this time I replied he needs to see what I want and still no he cant see you right now. I waited he did not come from the back. I went back to the front register and ask for the home office number the clerk refused to give it to me. If this is how you run your company no wonder retails are going bankrupt.

Unsatified customer because of poor management what are you going to do about IT?
Is this another attempt to pretend the problem is solved?

The return policy is printed on the receipt. When you shop at the store you agree to abide by their policies. Without proof that you purchased the item, a credit cannot be given to the card. The system will not allow it to go back onto a card without a receipt. The only thing that management could do would be to give you a store credit for the merchandise. It was cowardly and wrong of the manager to hide in the back, however.

Variety Wholesalers manager/employee

On February 10, 2009 at 4:52pm, I purchased Valentine's candy at the MaxWay in Garden City. I decided I didn't want the candy and took it back and asked the lady if I could get a refund. She pointed in an opposite direction and said, "Talk to that lady right there." I politely went over to the manager and asked could I get a refund and she caught an attitude and said, " I don't do refunds on food." I told her I was just in the store about 15 minutes ago showing her the receipt and she told me that people inject drugs in food.I was very offended by this comment and I showed her were the plastic wasn't even tampered with and asked her why wasn't there a sign saying they don't do refunds on foods or candy and she couln't seem to give me a response except that she wasn't going to refund the money. Both she and the cashier were rude and I feel like they should have signs stating their exchange or refund policy. I was very dissatisfied with their courtesy and their failure to inform us of policy.

Variety Wholesalers they need to get new employees or close the store down!

I am a frequent shopper in this store and I HATE going into this store because of the appearance of the store and the attitudes and the conversations of the employees, also even with two cashiers you have to wait 10 minutes in line the for line to even move. Either get new employees or close the store down!

Hair rollers were awful. They would not snap close after putting in your hair they would break apart and not stay together. I bought two packs and all of them would not stay together.

The rollers clasp would not stay together after you put the roller in your hair. It would break apart.

My complaint is about the lack of comfort, due to no air conditioning in this store. I was in there today, September 5, 2023 and they had fans everywhere. Cooler than last month when I went shopping. I was almost sick from the heat. Please correct this for your customers and your employees

The new store music is trash rap. I shouldnt have to explain to my young children what "double D breasts" are or "how to make a booty clap" this music may fly in your garbage louisville stores but not etown. I will shop somewhere else untill this music is changed.
This rap garbage has been playing since after xmas other customers even complain...

I was just going over the charges on my husbands debit card. There was a charge for $78.26! I have never heard of nor have I approved any charges to our card, I am highly upset and this must be resolve ASAP!

I love this store. Although today when I went in there I was harassed and followed by several employees. I am not a thief nor have I ever been one. I most certainly did not fit the description of one. It was very insulting to me and I could not enjoy my shopping experience. I did not see this happening to anyone else either. Not to be mean or rude but I am wondering if this was an issue of racism. I had never been to this location until today and I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK.

I think Maxway should hire someone to clean those nasty floor, and when you open up the stores trash on floor the night before. Birmingham.Al. in 5 point west, 78 highway. and Ensley stores.

Was trying to find the email addresses for management of Maxway located at 48th and Main in Jacksonville, Florida to complain about the super colorist/racist cashier, Marie Roberts, whose pride is to wake up, come to the work to "Put ###s in their Place" mentaility as we are harressed paying her salary. Although she is a cashier, she has appointed herself as Security Guard by following Black people around the store, she is the only cashier that demands when you enter, "You got to leave your bag, " her policy, not the store, nowhere is it posted, and her constant conversation about how much people steal while you are checking out as if customers want to hear this crap! Numerous customers complain about her but the straw that broke the camera's back, while checking out having recently been in a car accident and can't lift heavy items, I saw a cart without the long pole and asked, "Can I take this cart out..." and before I could complete saying..."I promise I will return it.." Marie interrupts, "Well, make sure you bring it back because people steal and on and on and on..." While returning it, the customer who was behind me laughed and asked, "What did she think, you were going to put the cart in your car?" I said, "Yes, I am going to check her on that." But Marie and I have had numerous rounds in that store but on that day I was banned by the manager and told never to come back again and my only regret is I didn't stop shopping at this racist/colorist establishment (another time I confronted another cashier how she disrespectfully spoke to an older woman). I accidently discovered this site as I did this statement on Wikipedia about the parent company of Maxway, Roses and other stores, Variety Wholesalers, "Two of Variety Wholesalers 386 stores were targeted by thirty protesters during the 2013 holiday season who claimed that his support of conservative candidates causes hurt the stores customers." Enough said, it start from the top, Marie is in line and I'm in line too, avoiding all these stores to stop buying racism.

Maxway is a part of Variety Wholesalers along with Rose's and a few other names. It is what I would call an extremely top heavy company. Very little investment is actually put into their locations as all of it goes to the top of the organization.. That is why you have ugly looking stores with broken restrooms, building signing that is either half attached or not lit up, little to no recovery or zoning, little to no investment in wages, cheap basic products, etc. Variety Wholesalers will go into an area where the income level for a family is $25, 000 per year or less. Put out cheap basic goods and they make a lot of money with this. Very little actually goes back into the stores or as an investment in attracting better qualified employees. If you really do stop shopping there, they will close down.

I would like to start saying shopping at Maxwell is going into a puzzle, different pieces are everywhere. I've never had a problem connecting the pieces, in this particular store everything just doesn't fit. I believe that this store has lazy workers, also I believe the manager do not have that affection too make it better. Above that I believe that the company but the store location in bad area. As you drive into the parking lot, what is coming up to you, padding hands . Sometimes it's very hard and uncomfortably getting out of the car. I believe this store needs new management.
