Marshalls review: after christmas sale ( 1 comment)

I went to the above Marshall's Stockton, CA store this morning at 8:00 am to do my after Christmas shopping. I picked several Christmas items expecting a 50% off sale. As I was paying my items at the cashiers, I was informed by the cashier that the Christmas items I selected were not 50% off. I asked why since I have been a loyal customer since the store opened in 1981 and previous years, all Christmas items were 50% off. The store manager informed me that the store is just starting to markdown the items starting at the cosmetic and men's departments and they cannot sell me any Christmas items without the markdown prices. I left the items on the cashiers counter and left the store upset.
In the parking lot of Marshall's, I called TJ Maxx store in Stockton to confirm that it is having a 50% markdown on their Christmas items. Angel, one of their sales people confirmed that it will markdown the items at the cashiers counter. So I went there to do some shopping.
The Marshall's store should have done the same procedure as TJ Maxx. The manager at the Stockton Marshall's needs further training especially in customer service.
