La Quinta Inns & Suites review: Housekeeper

We spent two nights at La Quinta in South Padre Island. All was well until we arrived home.
I remembered that I had left some items value amount (200.00) in the drawer in the room.
I called up to the front desk to report it, and the girl said that the maids check to make sure that nothing is left behind from the person that just checked out. Well, I told her that I had left some items in the drawer, and she said that the maids had not turned anything in.
I then called again to reach the manager however there was no answer so I left a detailed message and have not heard anything from them. I have also called customer service and have not heard back. I am very disappointed that this hotel has very dishonest employees.
