Kwik Kar Miss diagnosis of vehicle

I brought my car in on 4/9/22 and explained there were squeaking sounds and shaking associated when I accelerated my vehicle. I was informed that my upper and lower motor mount was needed to be fixed along with the replacement of an cv-axle. I was told that I needed to pay to have the parts shipped to the store and return for the labor I paid $586.72 and quoted $479 for the labor when I returned. I brought my vehicle in on 4/21/22 after waiting for a call that my parts arrived and the mechanic was back in town. I waited 8 hours after being told it would only take 3-4, as I pulled out of the parking lot my car continued to squeak and shake as if nothing was fixed. I went back into the store where I was then told that my timing belt was actually the problem and there was nothing they could do to refund or compensate me.

Desired outcome: I would like a form of compensation for either fixing my timing belt or a refund for the labor. As I did not receive the service I initially came in for.

Kwik Kar Oil change

January 22/2022 I been going to kwik kar for over 3 years for oil change and car was! And I never had a problem! Today I decide to go for an oil change for my car an a car wash, one of the employee approach me asked me what do I need I thought him I need an oil change An a car wash he says car wash is already included I asked for the price of the oil change he gave me the price $69.99 I told him last time I paid $38.68 He look at me like I was stupid and he told me very rude that if I knew the price why I was asking him! I told him he was very rude and I didn't want no more service! I was about to go home but I was so humiliated that I decide to go inside to the office and talk to a manager which I did, I was so hurt! About what this person told me that I forgot to get his name and the manager's name! told the manager that he was very rude and that he lost a customer I was never going to stop in this business again! I don't understand why this kid have to give me an attitude I was just asking for a price and I was just telling him what they charge me last time I don't appreciate it the way he was talking to me! This accident happened in kwik kar 211 w FM 544 Murphy Tex 75094

Kwik Kar Oil change

They over charged me for a oil change $71 double what I normally pay then told me my suv only should use premium oil which I did not ask for and was not true. Then did not put the cover back right and was dragging under my car so I had to go back. Ridiculous. This is the shop on 6898 Cypresswood
His name was Sam he foot was broke. The lady there was very helpful and tried to fix it for me while he was doing nothing.

Kwik Kar Oil change charge

We took our 2002 Toyota in for an oil change today, 11/10/21. We were charged for a full service not just the oil change requested, and new wiper blades which were. The full service items are shown on the receipt as done but I am handicapped and was in the truck the entire time. Only the oil change and wiper blades were done, nothing else. Charges $123. When I called I was told by the very person who drove the truck into the bay that she knew nothing about it as she wasn't there at the time. She offered to do the full service if we brought the truck back. Didn't offer to adjust the price. I don't think they need worry about us coming back.

Kwik Kar A/C causing my car not to start

I a filing a complaint because I had my A/C compressor put on sometime in Oct. of this year. I missed two week of work because my car would not start. because someone at kwik Kar put it on wrong. All fuses relays they removed all wires one at a time to fine draw. Wires goes to variable valve on ac compressor. Raised up un pluged still draw found a bad spot wire harnss wrapped around a/c line and compressor . Cut and repaired wires No more draw installed Original HVAC Remote Module . Reassembled Dash. Installed Draw goes down . Auto Works a problem that should have happened' My bill was $866.84> I would appreciated if you would help me with some of the bill and for the time i missed from work. Auto works phone number is [protected]. That left me broke with bills i need to pay,

Kwik Kar Brought in 2011 bmw 328i for a headlight change but left without my car, no headlight change and now my car wont start

On Saturday, 10/9/21, I took my 2011 BMW 328i to Kwik Kar to have the front right headlight changed out as the indicator came on and notified me that it needed to be changed. I arrived to Kwik Kar in Cedar Hill, TX 525 E Belt Line Rd about 11:45am. James, one of the mechanics came out and asked what he could help me with. I started the car and showed him that the headlight was out and needed to be replaced. He told me that he could get it replaced same day and it would take about 15 minutes to complete. I left the vehicle running, took my other keys off the key ring and got my son out of the vehicle, as James got in the driver side to pull the car into the garage. About 2 minutes later, my son and I are sitting in the waiting area, and James walks in and asks if there was a special way to start the car. I tell him no and go outside to check on the vehicle with him and at this time he tells me that he cannot get the vehicle to start. I then tell him that the car was already running when I left it with him and walked into the building. James was adamant that the car was not running and that it was off. He even mentioned that he has been a mechanic for 15 years. He then tells me that he knew the car was off because he put it in REVERSE and the car would not move. So at this time, he continues to push the start/stop button to try and get the car to start up but its just cranking and not turning over. The manager and three other mechanics come out and look at the car and no one can say what is wrong with the car. Again, I only brought the car in for a simple headlight replacement. The mechanics check under the hood as well as the battery and at first determine that the battery needs to be replaced. Again, a fairly new battery and I have not received any indicator from the car that there was an issue other than the headlight being out. Another mechanic who stated he also owns and has worked on BMWs felt that the issue may be the fuel pump. They run a diagnostic that they state is indicating an issue with the fuel pump. Two of the mechanics, one of them named Bones I believe, pull the backseat out, attempt to start the car and listen to see if the fuel pump is engaging. They do not hear anything which further leads them to believe that the issue is the fuel pump. The two mechanics leave and the manager comes out. While my mother is asking him questions and voicing her concern, he proceeds to tell us that he is not going to argue with us to which no one was arguing but only letting him know that there was no issue other than headlight prior to bringing in the car. He runs his own diagnostic and then states rather rudely to us "do you want to know what is wrong with the car?" He also believes that the issue is the fuel pump. At this point, I agree to have the fuel pump replaced for $650. All the mechanics, manager and now owner are congregated trying to figure out what is wrong with the car. The mechanic Bones comes back out and says that he thinks its the fuel pump but that the Owner is wanting them to test out the security system so he uses the actual key to manually lock/unlock the door and try and reset the car CPU. This still doesnt work. The Owner and mechanics then tell me that they are going to replace the fuel pump because they believe that is what is going on. They stated for us to give them some time and it would be ready later on today, same day (10/9/21). They would have to get the part from a company called Excel or Elite who deal in foreign car parts. The Owner takes down my name and contact information and said he would call when the car was ready to be picked up. My mother, son and I leave the shop waiting on a phone call. No call was ever received. Around 4:15pm 10/9/21, we decide to head back up to the shop since it closes at 5:00p. Once we make it back to the shop, Bones and the owner state that the fuel pump was not the issue and after further running diagnostics, checking all the fuses and testing the fuel pump, they determined that there was no issue with the vehicle. The owner then states that he believes the issue is that the car immobilizer (or anti-theft device) was activated. I then proceed to ask for clarification, to which I ask did the mechanic putting the car in reverse without the car being on cause this activation and he stated that he did think that was what caused it but that there is a possibility that that is also not the issue. The Owner then proceeds to say that they have a company they work with, Elite Electronics (I believe) who would be able to come out and reset the car CPU and run a full diagnostic but they would not be able to contact them until Monday and hopefully get them to come look at the car by Tuesday, 10/12/21.

My complaints are that 1) I did not appreciate how the manager, mechanic James and owner handled the situation in its entirety. The manager was very rude and abrupt the entire time, James did not take accountability for his actions and actually disengaged from assisting with the vehicle troubleshooting without an explanation and the owner did not say one word to me until it was time for him to tell me that they believed it was the fuel pump and for me to leave and come back after he called, to which he never called. 2) I went in for a simple headlight replacement and now I do not have a vehicle to use for an unknown amount of days. There was no offer to put me in a rental vehicle or to have my car towed to a BMW dealership for them to properly diagnose and rectify the issue. The manager nor owner did not take accountability for their actions nor the actions of the employee. There was no remorse for the inconvenience that was caused to me and my family.

To rectify the situation, I am looking for my vehicle to be repaired back to working order, running like it was prior to me coming to Kwik Kar on 10/9/21 minus the broken headlight. I am also looking to be placed in a rental for the time period that my vehicle is out of commission.

Thank you to Judd, Bones and the other mechanic (I did not get his name) for treating me and my mother with quality customer service and for trying to fix the issue. I know mistakes happen but the way James, the owner and the manager handled the situation is completely inappropriate.

Kwik Kar Hood damage

I am writing in regards to an incident that happened on Friday August 20, 2020. I drove to the Kwik Kar at 65633 K Avenue. Plano, TX. 75074 between 10 am and 12 pm. Upon arriving I went to the lobby and paid for a full synthetic oil change for my 2009 Infinity G37. The crew was very polite and one of the workers drove the 2009 Infinity on the automotive lift. The oil change went without a hitch, however while bringing the car down off the lift, a shop wire hanging from the ceiling got tangled in the Infinity's front hood. The employee was able to cut the cable and prevent any more significant damage from being done. Their is body damage to the hod of my car. The employee explained that he has someone that could fix the damage and I just needed to bring the car to Kwik Car at the above mentioned address on Sunday evening. I was told the even after hours would be fine, as I could leave the keys in an overnight box their onsite. I will be turning in the car to Kwik Kar this evening as told. I want to make sure that I am doing this with the full expectations that:
1) Your employee has the authority to speak on the company's behalf, as he stated he was a manager up there.
2) Regardless of Kwik Kar's internal processies, that my 2009 Infinity G37 will be made like it was prior to taking it for service at Kwik Kar.
3) Kwik Kar stands by their employee/manager's agreement to fix any and all damages that would have been a resolt of the comp anys lack of oversight of their facilities at Kwik Kar 6533 K Avenue Plano, TX. 75074.)
4 If the contractor that Kwik Kar enlisted to fix my car is unable for anyreason, then I have the right to take my vehicle to be fixed at any facility that I deem capable.

Kwik Kar Platinum car wash

So I go to this Kwik Kar for a $35 platinum wash yesterday which include floor mat wash. After wash I find they not only did not clean the rear floor mats, but managed to loose one of retaining devices on driver side floor mat. So I complain to manager and she goes to investigate. An hour later she tells me to fill out a form and she will call me at close of business today or early tomorrow. I call back today since nobody attempted to contact me and get ahold of acting manager Eddie. He tells me he'll order another car mat and I tell him I don't think that will be necessary since I am just missing one little part and agree to drive my vehicle back to the business. I get there and Eddie tells me he just talked to manger from previous day and "they will not be able to do anything". Horrible business practice. I bout 4 of the little retaining devices off Amazon for $8.99. Do not use this business, they not only do not care if they do the job, but you may not even leave the place with your vehicle intact.

Kwik Kar Wiper blades and rude clerk

On August 14, 2021, I took my Ford Escape for an oil change. I also requested a wiper check, front and back windshields. While the oil change got started, the clerk inside showed me the wiper blade rack and recommended the $59.98 over the 30.00. I chose the $30.00. Soon I was told that I would have to take the $59.98 for the front windshield. Watching a workman struggle with the front blades, the manager (ALP) struggled too. After 30 minutes beyond the completion of the oil change, the front wipers were still not on, and the manager and a helper were still working on them. I went up to the front desk to ask about the wiper blades. The clerk (Mercedes) got up from her chair in the back and said, "your car isn't finished yet, ma'am. Go back and sit down". Just then, the manager came in,. I told him how rude Mercedes had just been. He apologized and said that rear wiper blade is being brought over from another store. I wanted to know why he had trouble with the front blades, but more importantly, why didn't he tell me about the delay in getting the back wiper blade. After another 15 mins of waiting, I told the manager to finalize the bill. I will not be returning to Kwik Kar.

Kwik Kar State inspection

On 04-25-2021 I brought my 2000 Dodge caravan for Texas State vehicle inspection. The Dodge failed the OBD emission test. I was charged the full 25.50 for test. No wear in their shop is it posted that you pay full price for failing state inspection. Texas department of public safety states that if you fail the OBD test you will not be charged. Plus these folks do not wear face mask and put me and others at risk of getting covid-19. And they are so rude.

Kwik Kar Automobile service

Went to their shop in Anna, TX for a safety inspection. Ever since I got there, I realized the people were very unfriendly, and they just did not care about such a small service. First the employee who check on me, said my insurance was expired, it was not, then the business owner, that's how the guy identified himself came out so rude, and discriminative; I just decided to leave, and write a report to help another customer, now to get treated like that. Shame on this business owner

Kwik Kar Reimbursement for my oil change.

I took my car into Kwik Kar for an oil change. My friend noticed my car was leaking oil. I took my car into Bob Stallings Hyundai only to discover "diag oil leak found oil to be leaking from drain plug, drain plug did not have a ring on the plug. oil was very dar and a quart low. recommend oil change and new o'ring on the drain plug" this is exact verbiage from dealership work order. I ctc'd Kwik Kar speaking to Jose who identified as the manager. He said to bring my car back. My car is low on oil and why would I bring it back to the same place that did the shoddy work. I could have tore up my engine. I also found out Kwik Kar used "aftermarket filters'"What you should know about aftermarket air filters?
Aftermarket air filters usually have shallow, loosely packed pleats. It's a part of the reason why aftermarket air filters are cheap. 2. Filter Material Quality. Even if you find an aftermarket engine air filter with a large surface area, there's still the possibility that the filter material quality itself isn't good." Why is the oil dark? What is Kwik Kar not doing. Sound as if they are short changing customers. Was oil even changed, this company should be looked into.

Kwik Kar Staff

On feb 21 I brought my vehicle in for an inspection. While in the waiting area, a staff member kept calling another customer a man when she was clearly a woman. She politely corrected him and he became rude and disrespectful. Kevin (I think, his name started with a k) informed me that my tail light was out and I requested to see it. He said I should take my car somewhere else if I'm blaming him for breaking it. I told him I was not accusing him of anything, I had not seen it before and only wanted to see if the glass was broken or the light was out. He began arguing with me that I called him a liar. I told him to return my car and asked for the manager, he shut the door in my face. The amount of disrespect for customers is unbelievable. The owner needs to know that his staff is costing him business.

Kwik Kar do you not drug test?

These employees work with machinery all day, why is this okay? Marijuana heavily effects memory, if this boy leaves off something important who knows what it could do... A friend sent this to me, he was trying to flirt with her... he said how he uses a THC pen during work because it looks like a vape. This is so dangerous, customers atleast deserve the right to know their mechanics are under a type of influence or atleast that the company may not know exact influences the mechanics are under...

I spend $800 on a tune up, 2 weeks later I am stuck having the same problem in a different city 30 minutes away, and they wanted to charge me for a tow and the work to be completed on my car once they got it back to their shop.
Keep in mind, I called and asked the manager Heath if I should take it to be seen somewhere else or get it towed, he recommended that I not drive my car and get it looked at another Kwik Kar since it would barely drive, then call him before the work is done.
Jason Stine, the owner was NO HELP, he back peddled on lies told by Heath in order to run away from fixing my car. Sad you can't trust car places to be honest and consistent...all about $$$$$$$

First and LAST visit with them!

Kwik Kar window regulator repair

I had the worst experience here. I talked to Anthony on the phone made an appointment for 8:30 and got a quote. I made it there at 8:25 only to find out that Anthony wasn't even there and they didn't even know I was coming. Sitting there for a good 30 minutes before anyone even talked about what was going to be done with my car or anything else, I had to go up to them to find out what was going on. Left my car there at 9:05. I was told I'd be called in 30 minutes for what was going to be done, never heard from them until I, MYSELF, had to call them at around 3. Only to find out that they were charging me nearly $200 more than the agreed price. I was told that they had not even started on my car! (A process that averages about 3 hours to fix) I'm annoyed by now so I cancel and I was told a call would be made to let me know whenever it's ready so that they can put my parts back on and a half service fee was charged (no big deal) once again, no call was made. I called again and went to get my car. Worst service ever. Can't believe this happened to me. Called around found out that the car part I needed was way less than they said it was after looking at the quote I was given. Found service at Service First Automative, way cheaper and faster.

Kwik Kar oil change

My name is LaNisha Patterson. I am a Ph.D. Candidate at UTMB. I paid for an oil change on August 31st by Kwik Kar in League City, TX for my 2017 Chevy Camero which I purchased in 2018 with 17, 000 on it. Two days later while driving on the freeway all the oil came out of my car and the oil pressure low warning light came on. I pulled over as soon as I could and checked the oil levels in my vehicle and there was no oil at all. I have photos of the oil leaking.

I had to get my car towed to the shop. I received a call from Kwik Kar after letting them know what happened and they checked the car out. They said it was due to a faulty oil filter and changed the filter out and filled it with oil again. This was done by Chris from Kwik Kar who is the general manager. I took the car to work and heard noises coming from the engine. I immediately called Chris and let him know. He met me at my school and looked at the car again and said the oil filter was the wrong size and this was supposedly due to what the manufacturers told them. He changed out the filter again and promised me things should be good.

I drove the car home and while driving home my engine locked on the freeway. I had to have my vehicle towed to a Chevrolet dealership. Chris had previously told me if I took it there to make sure things were ok he had friends there that could check it out. Once I realized where the car was being towed to I immediately had it towed to a different Chevrolet dealership where it still is.

No one from their insurance company has called me. The GM and his supervisor accepted responsibility for the damages and have left me nothing but empty promises to cover all the damages of replacing the engine on my vehicle and I have not gotten any calls at all. They have consistently lied to me and have not taken care of the situation at all. I have had to pay rental costs myself of which I cannot afford as I am a full-time graduate school student.

The GM and manager at Kwik Kar continue to ignore my attempts to communicate and have no compassion for the hardship this has caused me. Now I have no way to work and am in jeopardy with my job. I have documentation of my paid oil change and the estimate from the dealership of the cost for damages to replace my engine.

I need your help. Ple

Kwik Kar botched labor work

The mechanic replaced the power steering pump but used a bolt to secure it which was not in all the way and the hoses leaked all the fluid as soon as I got on the freeway on my way to work. The very next day when the store opened I was there waiting for him to correct the problem, but was a no show his colleagues called him but no answer. I kept pouring fluid to drive my car back to work and day three I called kwik car 1st before going there and this mechanic said he was booked with work and could not work on my car, so I took my car to another shop and they found that his work was so botched up it was ridiculous. I feel I'm owed a refund because it almost cost me a rack end pinion.

Kwik Kar status of shop

The status of the shop inside and out is deplorable. The only reason I came to this store is because a competitor around the corner was packed with a long wait. There were NO customers at this store. I came for a state inspection. There is zero chance I would let this store work on my car or recommend to another person. The store is so bad I had to leave and hangout at a fast food restaurant while my inspection is completed. The owner should be mortified.

Kwik Kar general manager

Hello,
I am submitting a complaint against the General Manager of the Kwik Kar on 5021 Bryant Irvin, Ft Worth, TX 76132.
I went to Kwik Kar to get an oil change. I was greeting with a very welcoming gesture from an employee but when I went inside to wait, it became a very negative experience. Within a minute of me sitting in the waiting area, I heard a man screaming and berating an employee. This was so horrific that it became very uncomfortable to sit thru. This employee was so humiliated after the general manager left the area that he apologized to me for having to hear the encounter. I told him it was OK but it was far from OK. After the first encounter, the employee was working on the computer at the counter and the general manager came up to the counter and started again. I was floored at the complete disregard of someone listening to him degrade this employee. I do not know what transpired before I arrived but there is no excuse to treat anyone the way this employee was treated, especially in front of a customer. I was so angry I became nauseous. I asked another employee for the name of the general manager and employee. This person was so fearful of getting fired but gave me the names very reluctantly. Let's be clear. No one should ever feel fearful of losing their job for doing the right thing and I'm hoping this person will receive no repercussion. The name of the GE is Josh and the employee is Zack. I would like to be a repeat customer but there need to be done consequences for this very poor excuse of a GE.
I want to hear from someone at corporate.
