Kwik Kar - Erroneously charged for products and services never received

Do NOT take your car here! If I could give them a NEGATIVE 5 star rating I would. I experienced the most horrible customer service in my ENTIRE life, and was charged erroneously for services and parts that were never rendered just to get my car back after chosing to deny services due to bogus charges and poor customer service. I feel completely disrespected, mishandled and taken advantage of by this place. DO NOT USE this place for ANY of your car needs. YOU will REGReT IT tremendously! I literally was concerned that they would damage my car on purpose after I denied services and it could lead to possible harm to myself or my family. Their behavior was not at all kind, or cordial and seemed to be very malicious and vengeful since I refused services they hung up on me and then someone else called me back telling me I was gonna have to pay $150 to get my car back. I will be looking to contact the owners and/or corporate to report this issue, and will also let everyone I know NOT to USE this place of business for any work on your CAR until they do some remedial training on customer service, proper telephone etiquite, protocol and good business ethics. As a customer I have the right to refuse services, and not be charged erroneously. My receipt reflects a charge for parts that I never recieved. I will be taking this issue up with the higher echeclon. Until these types of incidences no longer occur, and they are not robbing the community dont use this place. I definitely should have read the reviews and not chose it simply because its located so conveniently between 2 parts stores.

I strongly advise DO NOT TaKe your car THeRE. You will regret it.

Desired outcome: Refund of bogus charge of $150. And better business practices, remedial customer service training and telephone etiquite and protocol.

Kwik Kar - Lube cedar hill

I came here for the first time three months ago sometime in march 2022 I spent $2000 getting my car fixed and I used a groupon for semi synthetic oil, I come back today with the same groupon as last time and I tried to show the guy my groupon so he can put the right oil he kind of shushed me and said he will get it after, I then said ok because i'm trying to show you so you can put the correct oil he looks quickly and says ok semi, then he brings my car and says he is done and say my total is $71 I ask why when I have a groupon which I paid 30 bucks for and he say well you always get full synthetic and i'm like no I don't i've only came twice and used the same groupon which none of that matter because I tried to tell him semi synthetic so now i'm pissed bacuse he says he has to pour out synthetic oil and put semi synthetic no apology or nothing just my time waisted so I ask for manager name and got toni he didn't care at all, he told me to google it so while i'm googling it another worker asked me to move my car and I told him i'ma get this info first I already felt rushed and they didn't even fill my funds as the groupon say they should, so in that same time he called me a stupid [censored] [censored] infront of my daughter, if she wasn't there it would have been a bigger problem, this is unacceptable that my kid had to here a employee call her mom a [censored], I will never come back to this location I have wrote on every review that I can regarding this trash company I even put a complaint to the bbb something has to be done I need an apology infront of my kid and I will be happy I will not spend another dime with this place. I always tell my kid noone should call them out there name and here he go doing it infront my kid

I have spent over $2000 with this trash company about three months ago including a Groupon I bought using semi synthetic, I returned today using the same Groupon as last time and I tried to show the guy up front white/Mexican and he kind shushed me and said he will get it after I then told him ok because I'm trying to show you the oil to use he quickly looked and said ok semi, so he bring my car and tells me my total is $71 I ask why I have a Groupon and paid 32 buck for it he then says we'll you always get full synthetic and I told him no because I've only come here twice and I used the same semi synthetic as I did the first time with no problems, so he says he has to pour out synthetic and put semi no apology or nothing so now I'm pissed because that's what I was trying to tell the first guy, after I ask for a manager name bacuse I felt rushed and they didn't fill my fluids as the Groupon as it said they should I was told by TONI he is the manage so basically nothing can be done I then asked for corporate and he told me to Google it, then as I'm googling it another guy comes and say move your car Andi told him once I get the info I need I will and the black guy with glasses who worked 6/11/2022 called me a STUPID [censored] [censored] Infront of my daughter, this is unacceptable I don't care what the problem is I should not have been called that I always tell my kid to never let anyone disrespect her and it happened to me Infront of her this is sad and done by a black man to a black women, if a man was with me he would have gotten his [censored] beat for calling me that but since I was alone he was coward enough to call me that I will never spend anoth dime with this trash company

Thank you to the owner of the Kwik kar in desoto and Plano for their help

Kwik Kar - Brought in 2011 bmw 328i for a headlight change but left without my car, no headlight change and now my car wont start

On Saturday, 10/9/21, I took my 2011 BMW 328i to Kwik Kar to have the front right headlight changed out as the indicator came on and notified me that it needed to be changed. I arrived to Kwik Kar in Cedar Hill, TX 525 E Belt Line Rd about 11:45am. James, one of the mechanics came out and asked what he could help me with. I started the car and showed him that the headlight was out and needed to be replaced. He told me that he could get it replaced same day and it would take about 15 minutes to complete. I left the vehicle running, took my other keys off the key ring and got my son out of the vehicle, as James got in the driver side to pull the car into the garage. About 2 minutes later, my son and I are sitting in the waiting area, and James walks in and asks if there was a special way to start the car. I tell him no and go outside to check on the vehicle with him and at this time he tells me that he cannot get the vehicle to start. I then tell him that the car was already running when I left it with him and walked into the building. James was adamant that the car was not running and that it was off. He even mentioned that he has been a mechanic for 15 years. He then tells me that he knew the car was off because he put it in REVERSE and the car would not move. So at this time, he continues to push the start/stop button to try and get the car to start up but its just cranking and not turning over. The manager and three other mechanics come out and look at the car and no one can say what is wrong with the car. Again, I only brought the car in for a simple headlight replacement. The mechanics check under the hood as well as the battery and at first determine that the battery needs to be replaced. Again, a fairly new battery and I have not received any indicator from the car that there was an issue other than the headlight being out. Another mechanic who stated he also owns and has worked on BMWs felt that the issue may be the fuel pump. They run a diagnostic that they state is indicating an issue with the fuel pump. Two of the mechanics, one of them named Bones I believe, pull the backseat out, attempt to start the car and listen to see if the fuel pump is engaging. They do not hear anything which further leads them to believe that the issue is the fuel pump. The two mechanics leave and the manager comes out. While my mother is asking him questions and voicing her concern, he proceeds to tell us that he is not going to argue with us to which no one was arguing but only letting him know that there was no issue other than headlight prior to bringing in the car. He runs his own diagnostic and then states rather rudely to us "do you want to know what is wrong with the car?" He also believes that the issue is the fuel pump. At this point, I agree to have the fuel pump replaced for $650. All the mechanics, manager and now owner are congregated trying to figure out what is wrong with the car. The mechanic Bones comes back out and says that he thinks its the fuel pump but that the Owner is wanting them to test out the security system so he uses the actual key to manually lock/unlock the door and try and reset the car CPU. This still doesnt work. The Owner and mechanics then tell me that they are going to replace the fuel pump because they believe that is what is going on. They stated for us to give them some time and it would be ready later on today, same day (10/9/21). They would have to get the part from a company called Excel or Elite who deal in foreign car parts. The Owner takes down my name and contact information and said he would call when the car was ready to be picked up. My mother, son and I leave the shop waiting on a phone call. No call was ever received. Around 4:15pm 10/9/21, we decide to head back up to the shop since it closes at 5:00p. Once we make it back to the shop, Bones and the owner state that the fuel pump was not the issue and after further running diagnostics, checking all the fuses and testing the fuel pump, they determined that there was no issue with the vehicle. The owner then states that he believes the issue is that the car immobilizer (or anti-theft device) was activated. I then proceed to ask for clarification, to which I ask did the mechanic putting the car in reverse without the car being on cause this activation and he stated that he did think that was what caused it but that there is a possibility that that is also not the issue. The Owner then proceeds to say that they have a company they work with, Elite Electronics (I believe) who would be able to come out and reset the car CPU and run a full diagnostic but they would not be able to contact them until Monday and hopefully get them to come look at the car by Tuesday, 10/12/21.

My complaints are that 1) I did not appreciate how the manager, mechanic James and owner handled the situation in its entirety. The manager was very rude and abrupt the entire time, James did not take accountability for his actions and actually disengaged from assisting with the vehicle troubleshooting without an explanation and the owner did not say one word to me until it was time for him to tell me that they believed it was the fuel pump and for me to leave and come back after he called, to which he never called. 2) I went in for a simple headlight replacement and now I do not have a vehicle to use for an unknown amount of days. There was no offer to put me in a rental vehicle or to have my car towed to a BMW dealership for them to properly diagnose and rectify the issue. The manager nor owner did not take accountability for their actions nor the actions of the employee. There was no remorse for the inconvenience that was caused to me and my family.

To rectify the situation, I am looking for my vehicle to be repaired back to working order, running like it was prior to me coming to Kwik Kar on 10/9/21 minus the broken headlight. I am also looking to be placed in a rental for the time period that my vehicle is out of commission.

Thank you to Judd, Bones and the other mechanic (I did not get his name) for treating me and my mother with quality customer service and for trying to fix the issue. I know mistakes happen but the way James, the owner and the manager handled the situation is completely inappropriate.

Kwik Kar - Reimbursement for my oil change.

I took my car into Kwik Kar for an oil change. My friend noticed my car was leaking oil. I took my car into Bob Stallings Hyundai only to discover "diag oil leak found oil to be leaking from drain plug, drain plug did not have a ring on the plug. oil was very dar and a quart low. recommend oil change and new o'ring on the drain plug" this is exact verbiage from dealership work order. I ctc'd Kwik Kar speaking to Jose who identified as the manager. He said to bring my car back. My car is low on oil and why would I bring it back to the same place that did the shoddy work. I could have tore up my engine. I also found out Kwik Kar used "aftermarket filters'"What you should know about aftermarket air filters?
Aftermarket air filters usually have shallow, loosely packed pleats. It's a part of the reason why aftermarket air filters are cheap. 2. Filter Material Quality. Even if you find an aftermarket engine air filter with a large surface area, there's still the possibility that the filter material quality itself isn't good." Why is the oil dark? What is Kwik Kar not doing. Sound as if they are short changing customers. Was oil even changed, this company should be looked into.
